| bhalo kabeer dhaas dhaasan ko ootham sain jan naaee || |
| Kabeer is good, the slave of the Lord's slaves; the humble barber Sain is sublime. |

| Highest of the high is Naam Dayv, who looked upon all alike; Ravi Daas was in tune with the Lord. ||1|| |

| ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਾਧਨ ਕਾ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੰਤ ਰੇਨਾਈ ॥ |
| jeeo pindd than dhhan saadhhan kaa eihu man santh raenaaee || |
| My soul, body and wealth belong to the Saints; my mind longs for the dust of the Saints. |

| sagal padhaarathh simaran jaa kai aath pehar maerae man jaap ||1|| rehaao || |
| All wealth and treasures are obtained by remembering Him in meditation; twenty-four hours a day, O my mind, meditate on Him. ||1||Pause|| |

| Your Name is Ambrosial Nectar, O my Lord and Master. Whoever drinks it in is satisfied. |

| janam janam kae kilabikh naasehi aagai dharageh hoe khalaas ||1|| |
| The sins of countless incarnations are erased, and hereafter, he shall be saved and redeemed in the Court of the Lord. ||1|| |

| O my mind, why are you lured away by otherness? |

| The Name of your Beloved Lover, the Fascinating Lord, is Ambrosial Nectar. Drinking it in, you shall find satisfaction. |

| ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਹੈ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਠਾਹਰ ਨੀਕੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਕਉ ॥੧॥ |
| akaal moorath hai saadhh santhan kee thaahar neekee dhhiaan ko ||1|| |
| The Being of Immortal Manifestation is found in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. Meditate on Him in that most sublime place. ||1|| |

| ਬਾਣੀ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖਨ ਕੀ ਮਨਹਿ ਉਤਾਰਨ ਮਾਂਨ ਕਉ ॥ |
| baanee manthra mehaa purakhan kee manehi outhaaran maann ko || |
| The Bani, the Word of the Supreme Lord God, is the greatest Mantra of all. It eradicates pride from the mind. |

| ਖੋਜਿ ਲਹਿਓ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖ ਥਾਨਾਂ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ਕਉ ॥੨॥੧॥੨੦॥ |
| khoj lehiou naanak sukh thhaanaan har naamaa bisraam ko ||2||1||20|| |
| Searching, Nanak found the home of peace and bliss in the Name of the Lord. ||2||1||20|| |

| ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਸਗਲ ਅਘ ਨਿਮਖ ਹੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| rog sog thaerae mittehi sagal agh nimakh heeai har naam dhhiaae ||1|| rehaao || |
| All your disease, sorrow and sin will be erased, if you meditate on the Lord's Name, even for an instant. ||1||Pause|| |

| Abandon all your clever tricks; go and enter the Sanctuary of the Holy. |

| ਜਉ ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਜਮ ਤੇ ਹੋਵੈ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ॥੧॥ |
| jo hoe kirapaal dheen dhukh bhanjan jam thae hovai dhharam raae ||1|| |
| When the Lord, the Destroyer of the pains of the poor becomes merciful, the Messenger of Death is changed into the Righteous Judge of Dharma. ||1|| |

| ਏਕਸ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਦੂਜਾ ਆਨ ਨ ਬੀਓ ਲਵੈ ਲਾਇ ॥ |
| eaekas bin naahee ko dhoojaa aan n beeou lavai laae || |
| Without the One Lord, there is no other at all. No one else can equal Him. |

| ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਭਾਈ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੋ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਸਾਇ ॥੨॥੨॥੨੧॥ |
| maath pithaa bhaaee naanak ko sukhadhaathaa har praan saae ||2||2||21|| |
| The Lord is Nanak's Mother, Father and Sibling, the Giver of Peace, his Breath of Life. ||2||2||21|| |

| The Lord's humble servant saves those who accompany him. |

| ਭਏ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਮਨ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਦੁਖ ਹਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| bheae puneeth pavithr man janam janam kae dhukh harae ||1|| rehaao || |
| Their minds are sanctified and rendered pure, and they are rid of the pains of countless incarnations. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਮਾਰਗਿ ਚਲੇ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਸਿਉ ਗੋਸਟਿ ਸੇ ਤਰੇ ॥ |
| maarag chalae thinhee sukh paaeiaa jinh sio gosatt sae tharae || |
| Those who walk on the path find peace; they are saved, along with those who speak with them. |

| ਬੂਡਤ ਘੋਰ ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਮਹਿ ਤੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰੇ ॥੧॥ |
| booddath ghor andhh koop mehi thae saadhhoo sang paar parae ||1|| |
| Even those who are drowning in the horrible, deep dark pit are carried across in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1|| |

| ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਭਾਗ ਬਡੇ ਹੈ ਭਾਈ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੁਖ ਜੁਰੇ ॥ |
| jinh kae bhaag baddae hai bhaaee thinh saadhhoo sang mukh jurae || |
| Those who have such high destiny turn their faces toward the Saadh Sangat. |

| ਏਕ ਪਲਕ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਧ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਕੋਟਿ ਬੈਕੁੰਠਹ ਪਾਂਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| eaek palak sukh saadhh samaagam kott baikuntheh paaneae ||1|| rehaao || |
| One who enjoys peace in the Company of the Holy, even for an instant, obtains millions of heavenly paradises. ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਦੁਲਭ ਦੇਹ ਜਪਿ ਹੋਤ ਪੁਨੀਤਾ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਨਿਵਾਰੈ ॥ |
| dhulabh dhaeh jap hoth puneethaa jam kee thraas nivaarai || |
| This human body, so difficult to obtain, is sanctified by meditating on the Lord. It takes away the fear of death. |

| ਮਹਾ ਪਤਿਤ ਕੇ ਪਾਤਿਕ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ |
| mehaa pathith kae paathik outharehi har naamaa our dhhaarai ||1|| |
| Even the sins of terrible sinners are washed away, by cherishing the Lord's Name within the heart. ||1|| |

| ਜੋ ਜੋ ਸੁਨੈ ਰਾਮ ਜਸੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖੁ ਨਾਸਾ ॥ |
| jo jo sunai raam jas niramal thaa kaa janam maran dhukh naasaa || |
| Whoever listens to the Immaculate Praises of the Lord - his pains of birth and death are dispelled. |

| maan karo abhimaanai bolo bhool chook thaeree pria chireeaa ||1|| rehaao || |
| I act in pride, and speak in pride. I am mistaken and wrong, but I am still Your hand-maiden, O my Beloved. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਨਿਕਟਿ ਸੁਨਉ ਅਰੁ ਪੇਖਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਭਰਮਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਦੁਖ ਭਰੀਆ ॥ |
| nikatt suno ar paekho naahee bharam bharam dhukh bhareeaa || |
| I hear that You are near, but I cannot see You. I wander in suffering, deluded by doubt. |

| ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਗੁਰ ਲਾਹਿ ਪਾਰਦੋ ਮਿਲਉ ਲਾਲ ਮਨੁ ਹਰੀਆ ॥੧॥ |
| hoe kirapaal gur laahi paaradho milo laal man hareeaa ||1|| |
| The Guru has become merciful to me; He has removed the veils. Meeting with my Beloved, my mind blossoms forth in abundance. ||1|| |

| ਏਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਜੇ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਾਨਉ ਕੋਟਿ ਦਿਨਸ ਲਖ ਬਰੀਆ ॥ |
| eaek nimakh jae bisarai suaamee jaano kott dhinas lakh bareeaa || |
| If I were to forget my Lord and Master, even for an instant, it would be like millions of days, tens of thousands of years. |

| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੀ ਭੀਰ ਜਉ ਪਾਈ ਤਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਰੀਆ ॥੨॥੧॥੨੪॥ |
| saadhhasangath kee bheer jo paaee tho naanak har sang mireeaa ||2||1||24|| |
| When I joined the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, O Nanak, I met my Lord. ||2||1||24|| |

| karanaa saa soee kar rehiaa dhaehi naao balihaaree ||1|| rehaao || |
| You do whatever You wish to do. Please bless me with Your Name - I am a sacrifice to You. ||1||Pause|| |

| The poison of corruption is flowering forth in the four directions; I have taken the GurMantra as my antidote. |
