| I cannot do anything else. |

| ਇਹੈ ਓਟ ਪਾਈ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਤਹ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਏਕ ਕੀ ਸਰਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| eihai outt paaee mil santheh gopaal eaek kee saranee ||1|| rehaao || |
| I have taken this Support, meeting the Saints; I have entered the Sanctuary of the One Lord of the World. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਪੰਚ ਦੋਖ ਛਿਦ੍ਰ ਇਆ ਤਨ ਮਹਿ ਬਿਖੈ ਬਿਆਧਿ ਕੀ ਕਰਣੀ ॥ |
| panch dhokh shhidhr eiaa than mehi bikhai biaadhh kee karanee || |
| The five wicked enemies are within this body; they lead the mortal to practice evil and corruption. |

| ਆਸ ਅਪਾਰ ਦਿਨਸ ਗਣਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਗ੍ਰਸਤ ਜਾਤ ਬਲੁ ਜਰਣੀ ॥੧॥ |
| aas apaar dhinas gan raakhae grasath jaath bal jaranee ||1|| |
| He has infinite hope, but his days are numbered, and old age is sapping his strength. ||1|| |
|
| ਅਨਾਥਹ ਨਾਥ ਦਇਆਲ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਸਰਬ ਦੋਖ ਭੈ ਹਰਣੀ ॥ |
| anaathheh naathh dhaeiaal sukh saagar sarab dhokh bhai haranee || |
| He is the Help of the helpless, the Merciful Lord, the Ocean of Peace, the Destroyer of all pains and fears. |

| ਮਨਿ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਚਿਤਵਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਪੇਖਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਚਰਣੀ ॥੨॥੫੪॥੭੭॥ |
| man baanshhath chithavath naanak dhaas paekh jeevaa prabh charanee ||2||54||77|| |
| Slave Nanak longs for this blessing, that he may live, gazing upon the Feet of God. ||2||54||77|| |

| Saarang, Fifth Mehl: |

| ਫੀਕੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਾਦ ॥ |
| feekae har kae naam bin saadh || |
| Without the Lord's Name, flavors are tasteless and insipid. |
|
| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਈਐ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਨਾਦ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| anmrith ras keerathan har gaaeeai ahinis pooran naadh ||1|| rehaao || |
| Sing the Sweet Ambrosial Praises of the Lord's Kirtan; day and night, the Sound-current of the Naad will resonate and resound. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਮਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਮਿਟਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਖਾਦ ॥ |
| simarath saanth mehaa sukh paaeeai mitt jaahi sagal bikhaadh || |
| Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, total peace and bliss are obtained, and all sorrows are taken away. |

| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਭੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਘਰਿ ਲੈ ਆਵਹੁ ਲਾਦਿ ॥੧॥ |
| har har laabh saadhhasang paaeeai ghar lai aavahu laadh ||1|| |
| The profit of the Lord, Har, Har, is found in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; so load it and bring it on home. ||1|| |
|
| ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਊਚ ਤੇ ਊਚੋ ਅੰਤੁ ਨਹੀ ਮਰਜਾਦ ॥ |
| sabh thae ooch ooch thae oocho anth nehee marajaadh || |
| He is the Highest of all, the Highest of the high; His celestial ecomony has no limit. |
|
| ਬਰਨਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਪੇਖਿ ਰਹੇ ਬਿਸਮਾਦ ॥੨॥੫੫॥੭੮॥ |
| baran n saako naanak mehimaa paekh rehae bisamaadh ||2||55||78|| |
| Nanak cannot even express His Glorious Grandeur; gazing upon Him, he is wonder-struck. ||2||55||78|| |

| ਆਇਓ ਸੁਨਨ ਪੜਨ ਕਉ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ |
| aaeiou sunan parran ko baanee || |
| The mortal came to hear and chant the Word of the Guru's Bani. |
|
| ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਲਗਹਿ ਅਨ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| naam visaar lagehi an laalach birathhaa janam paraanee ||1|| rehaao || |
| But he has forgotten the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and he has become attached to other temptations. His life is totally worthless! ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਸਮਝੁ ਅਚੇਤ ਚੇਤਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਥੀ ਸੰਤਨ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥ |
| samajh achaeth chaeth man maerae kathhee santhan akathh kehaanee || |
| O my unconscious mind, become conscious and figure it out; the Saints speak the Unspoken Speech of the Lord. |
|
| ਲਾਭੁ ਲੈਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਅਰਾਧਹੁ ਛੁਟਕੈ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ |
| laabh laihu har ridhai araadhhahu shhuttakai aavan jaanee ||1|| |
| So gather in your profits - worship and adore the Lord within your heart; your coming and going in reincarnation shall end. ||1|| |
|
| ਉਦਮੁ ਸਕਤਿ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਰੀ ਦੇਹਿ ਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੀ ॥ |
| oudham sakath siaanap thumharee dhaehi th naam vakhaanee || |
| Efforts, powers and clever tricks are Yours; if You bless me with them, I repeat Your Name. |

| ਸੇਈ ਭਗਤ ਭਗਤਿ ਸੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਣੀ ॥੨॥੫੬॥੭੯॥ |
| saeee bhagath bhagath sae laagae naanak jo prabh bhaanee ||2||56||79|| |
| They alone are devotees, and they alone are attached to devotional worship, O Nanak, who are pleasing to God. ||2||56||79|| |

| ਧਨਵੰਤ ਨਾਮ ਕੇ ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ॥ |
| dhhanavanth naam kae vanajaarae || |
| Those who deal in the Naam, the Name of the Lord, are wealthy. |
|
| ਛੋਡਹੁ ਕਪਟੁ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਵੈਰਾ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ॥ |
| shhoddahu kapatt hoe niravairaa so prabh sang nihaarae || |
| Abandon your deception, and go beyond vengeance; see God who is always with you. |
|
| ਸਚੁ ਧਨੁ ਵਣਜਹੁ ਸਚੁ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਚਹੁ ਕਬਹੂ ਨ ਆਵਹੁ ਹਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ |
| sach dhhan vanajahu sach dhhan sanchahu kabehoo n aavahu haarae ||1|| |
| Deal only in this true wealth and gather in this true wealth, and you shall never suffer loss. ||1|| |
|
| ਖਾਤ ਖਰਚਤ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਿਖੁਟਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਅਗਨਤ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰੇ ॥ |
| khaath kharachath kishh nikhuttath naahee aganath bharae bhanddaarae || |
| Eating and consuming it, it is never exhausted; God's treasures are overflowing. |
|
| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋਭਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਾਵਹੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੈ ਦੁਆਰੇ ॥੨॥੫੭॥੮੦॥ |
| kahu naanak sobhaa sang jaavahu paarabreham kai dhuaarae ||2||57||80|| |
| Says Nanak, you shall go home to the Court of the Supreme Lord God with honor and respect. ||2||57||80|| |

| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਵਨੁ ਅਨਾਥੁ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ॥ |
| prabh jee mohi kavan anaathh bichaaraa || |
| O Dear God, I am wretched and helpless! |
|
| ਕਵਨ ਮੂਲ ਤੇ ਮਾਨੁਖੁ ਕਰਿਆ ਇਹੁ ਪਰਤਾਪੁ ਤੁਹਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| kavan mool thae maanukh kariaa eihu parathaap thuhaaraa ||1|| rehaao || |
| From what source did you create humans? This is Your Glorious Grandeur. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਸਰਬ ਕੇ ਦਾਤੇ ਗੁਣ ਕਹੇ ਨ ਜਾਹਿ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥ |
| jeea praan sarab kae dhaathae gun kehae n jaahi apaaraa || |
| You are the Giver of the soul and the breath of life to all; Your Infinite Glories cannot be spoken. |

| ਸਭ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਕ ਸਰਬ ਘਟਾਂ ਆਧਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ |
| sabh kae preetham srab prathipaalak sarab ghattaan aadhhaaraa ||1|| |
| You are the Beloved Lord of all, the Cherisher of all, the Support of all hearts. ||1|| |
|
| ਕੋਇ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਆਪਹਿ ਏਕ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥ |
| koe n jaanai thumaree gath mith aapehi eaek pasaaraa || |
| No one knows Your state and extent. You alone created the expanse of the Universe. |
|
| ਸਾਧ ਨਾਵ ਬੈਠਾਵਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰਾ ॥੨॥੫੮॥੮੧॥ |
| saadhh naav baithaavahu naanak bhav saagar paar outhaaraa ||2||58||81|| |
| Please, give me a seat in the boat of the Holy; O Nanak, thus I shall cross over this terrifying world-ocean, and reach the other shore. ||2||58||81|| |

| ਆਵੈ ਰਾਮ ਸਰਣਿ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥ |
| aavai raam saran vaddabhaagee || |
| One who comes to the Lord's Sanctuary is very fortunate. |
|
| ਏਕਸ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਅਵਰਿ ਉਪਾਵ ਤਿਆਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| eaekas bin kishh hor n jaanai avar oupaav thiaagee ||1|| rehaao || |
| He knows of no other than the One Lord. He has renounced all other efforts. ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਮਨ ਬਚ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਆਰਾਧੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| man bach kram aaraadhhai har har saadhhasang sukh paaeiaa || |
| He worships and adores the Lord, Har, Har, in thought, word and deed; in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, he finds peace. |
|
| ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਰਸੁ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ |
| anadh binodh akathh kathhaa ras saachai sehaj samaaeiaa ||1|| |
| He enjoys bliss and pleasure, and savors the Unspoken Speech of the Lord; he merges intuitively into the True Lord. ||1|| |
|
| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜੋ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕੀਨੋ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਊਤਮ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ |
| kar kirapaa jo apunaa keeno thaa kee ootham baanee || |
| Sublime and exalted is the speech of one whom the Lord, in His Mercy makes His Own. |
|
| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਸਤਰੀਐ ਜੋ ਰਾਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ॥੨॥੫੯॥੮੨॥ |
| saadhhasang naanak nisathareeai jo raathae prabh nirabaanee ||2||59||82|| |
| Those who are imbued with God in the state of Nirvaanaa, O Nanak, are emancipated in the Saadh Sangat. ||2||59||82|| |

| ਜਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਰਣਿ ਗਹੀ ॥ |
| jaa thae saadhhoo saran gehee || |
| Since I grasped hold of the Sanctuary of the Holy, |
|
| ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜੁ ਮਨਿ ਭਇਓ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਾ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਰਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| saanth sehaj man bhaeiou pragaasaa birathhaa kashh n rehee ||1|| rehaao || |
| my mind is illuminated with tranquility, peace and poise, and I am rid of all my pain. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਹੋਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਏਹ ਕਹੀ ॥ |
| hohu kirapaal naam dhaehu apunaa binathee eaeh kehee || |
| Please be merciful to me, O Lord, and bless me with Your Name; this is the prayer I offer to You. |

| ਆਨ ਬਿਉਹਾਰ ਬਿਸਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਪਾਇਓ ਲਾਭੁ ਸਹੀ ॥੧॥ |
| aan biouhaar bisarae prabh simarath paaeiou laabh sehee ||1|| |
| I have forgotten my other occupations; remembering God in meditation, I have obtained the true profit. ||1|| |
|
| ਜਹ ਤੇ ਉਪਜਿਓ ਤਹੀ ਸਮਾਨੋ ਸਾਈ ਬਸਤੁ ਅਹੀ ॥ |
| jeh thae oupajiou thehee samaano saaee basath ahee || |
| We shall merge again into the One from whom we came; He is the Essence of Being. |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਰਮੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਖੋਇਓ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਹੀ ॥੨॥੬੦॥੮੩॥ |
| kahu naanak bharam gur khoeiou jothee joth samehee ||2||60||83|| |
| Says Nanak, the Guru has eradicated my doubt; my light has merged into the Light. ||2||60||83|| |
