| ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਕੇ ਜਨ ਕਾਂਖੀ ॥ |
| har kae naam kae jan kaankhee || |
| The Lord's humble servants yearn for the Lord's Name. |

| ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਬਚਨਿ ਏਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਚਾਹਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਰਸੁ ਦੇਖਹਿ ਕਬ ਆਖੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| man than bachan eaehee sukh chaahath prabh dharas dhaekhehi kab aakhee ||1|| rehaao || |
| In thought, word and deed, they long for this peace, to gaze with their eyes upon the Blessed Vision of God's Darshan. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਤੂ ਬੇਅੰਤੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਗਤਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਜਾਇ ਨ ਲਾਖੀ ॥ |
| thoo baeanth paarabreham suaamee gath thaeree jaae n laakhee || |
| You are Endless, O God, my Supreme Lord and Master; Your state cannot be known. |

| ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਨੁ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਕਰਿ ਸਰਬਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਾਖੀ ॥੧॥ |
| charan kamal preeth man baedhhiaa kar sarabas anthar raakhee ||1|| |
| My mind is pierced through by the Love of Your Lotus Feet; this is everything to me - I enshrine it deep within my being. ||1|| |

| ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨ ਇਹ ਬਾਣੀ ਰਸਨਾ ਭਾਖੀ ॥ |
| baedh puraan simrith saadhhoo jan eih baanee rasanaa bhaakhee || |
| In the Vedas, the Puraanas and the Simritees, the humble and the Holy chant this Bani with their tongues. |

| jap raam naam naanak nisathareeai hor dhutheeaa birathhee saakhee ||2||98||121|| |
| Chanting the Lord's Name, O Nanak, I am emancipated; other teachings of duality are useless. ||2||98||121|| |

| ਮਾਖੀ ਰਾਮ ਕੀ ਤੂ ਮਾਖੀ ॥ |
| maakhee raam kee thoo maakhee || |
| A fly! You are just a fly, created by the Lord. |
|
| ਜਹ ਦੁਰਗੰਧ ਤਹਾ ਤੂ ਬੈਸਹਿ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਦ ਚਾਖੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| jeh dhuragandhh thehaa thoo baisehi mehaa bikhiaa madh chaakhee ||1|| rehaao || |
| Wherever it stinks, you land there; you suck in the most toxic stench. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਕਿਤਹਿ ਅਸਥਾਨਿ ਤੂ ਟਿਕਨੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਦੇਖੀ ਆਖੀ ॥ |
| kithehi asathhaan thoo ttikan n paavehi eih bidhh dhaekhee aakhee || |
| You don't stay put anywhere; I have seen this with my eyes. |

| ਸੰਤਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਤੈ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਛਾਡਿਆ ਸੰਤ ਪਰੇ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਕੀ ਪਾਖੀ ॥੧॥ |
| santhaa bin thai koe n shhaaddiaa santh parae gobidh kee paakhee ||1|| |
| You have not spared anyone, except the Saints - the Saints are on the side of the Lord of the Universe. ||1|| |
|
| ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਗਲੇ ਤੈ ਮੋਹੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੰਤਾ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਲਾਖੀ ॥ |
| jeea janth sagalae thai mohae bin santhaa kinai n laakhee || |
| You have enticed all beings and creatures; no one knows You, except the Saints. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਖੀ ॥੨॥੯੯॥੧੨੨॥ |
| naanak dhaas har keerathan raathaa sabadh surath sach saakhee ||2||99||122|| |
| Slave Nanak is imbued with the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises. Focusing his consciousness on the Word of the Shabad, he realizes the Presence of the True Lord. ||2||99||122|| |

| ਮਾਈ ਰੀ ਕਾਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸ ॥ |
| maaee ree kaattee jam kee faas || |
| O mother, the noose of Death has been cut away. |
|
| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਲੀਨੇ ਕਰਿ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਉਪਜੀ ਦਰਸ ਪਿਆਸ ॥ |
| kar kirapaa leenae kar apunae oupajee dharas piaas || |
| Granting His Grace, He has made me His Own. The thirst for the Blessed Vision of His Darshan wells up within me. |

| ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਬਿਨਸੀ ਦੁਤੀਆ ਆਸ ॥੧॥ |
| santhasang mil har gun gaaeae binasee dhutheeaa aas ||1|| |
| Joining the Society of the Saints, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord; I have given up other hopes. ||1|| |
|
| ਮਹਾ ਉਦਿਆਨ ਅਟਵੀ ਤੇ ਕਾਢੇ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਸੰਤ ਕਹਿਓ ॥ |
| mehaa oudhiaan attavee thae kaadtae maarag santh kehiou || |
| The Saint has pulled me out of the utterly desolate wilderness, and shown me the path. |

| ਦੇਖਤ ਦਰਸੁ ਪਾਪ ਸਭਿ ਨਾਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਤਨੁ ਲਹਿਓ ॥੨॥੧੦੦॥੧੨੩॥ |
| dhaekhath dharas paap sabh naasae har naanak rathan lehiou ||2||100||123|| |
| Gazing upon His Darshan, all sins are taken away; Nanak is blessed with the jewel of the Lord. ||2||100||123|| |

| O mother, I am involved with the Love of the Lord; |

| ਦਰਸਨ ਰੁਚਿਤ ਪਿਆਸ ਮਨਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸਕਤ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਤੋਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| dharasan ruchith piaas man sundhar sakath n koee thor ||1|| rehaao || |
| I am intoxicated with it. My mind has such a longing and thirst for the Blessed Vision, the Darshan of my Beauteous Lord. No one can break this. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਮਾਨ ਪਤਿ ਪਿਤ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧਪ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਬਸੁ ਧਨ ਮੋਰ ॥ |
| praan maan path pith suth bandhhap har sarabas dhhan mor || |
| The Lord is my breath of life, honor, spouse, parent, child, relative, wealth - everything. |
|
| ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਅਸਤ ਬਿਸਟਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਨਤ ਹੋਰ ॥੧॥ |
| dhhrig sareer asath bisattaa kiram bin har jaanath hor ||1|| |
| Cursed is this body of bones, this pile of maggots and manure, if it knows any other than the Lord. ||1|| |
|
| ਭਇਓ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਪਰਾ ਪੂਰਬਲਾ ਜੋਰ ॥ |
| bhaeiou kirapaal dheen dhukh bhanjan paraa poorabalaa jor || |
| The Destroyer of the pains of the poor has become merciful to me, by the power of the karma of my past actions. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਸਾਗਰ ਬਿਨਸਿਓ ਆਨ ਨਿਹੋਰ ॥੨॥੧੦੧॥੧੨੪॥ |

| Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of God, the Treasure, the Ocean of Mercy; my subservience to others is past. ||2||101||124|| |

| The Lord's melody is noble and sublime. |

| ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਅਨੂਪ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਪਤ ਸਾਧੂ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| The Lotus Feet of my Lord and Master are incomparably beautiful. Meditating on them, one becomes Holy. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਚਿਤਵਤਾ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਲਮਲਾ ਕਢੁ ਧੋਇ ॥ |
| chithavathaa gopaal dharasan kalamalaa kadt dhhoe || |
| Just by thinking of the Darshan, the Blessed Vision of the Lord of the World, the dirty sins are washed away. |

| ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਅੰਕੁਰ ਹਰਿ ਕਾਟਿ ਛਾਡੇ ਖੋਇ ॥੧॥ |
| janam maran bikaar ankur har kaatt shhaaddae khoe ||1|| |
| The Lord cuts down and weeds out the corruption of the cycle of birth and death. ||1|| |
|
| ਪਰਾ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਜਿਸਹਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਬਿਰਲਾ ਪਾਏ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
| paraa poorab jisehi likhiaa biralaa paaeae koe || |
| How rare is that person who has such pre-ordained destiny, to find the Lord. |

| The intellect of one who dwells on the Name of the Lord is excellent. |

| ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਜੁ ਆਨ ਰਾਚਹਿ ਮਿਥਨ ਸਭ ਬਿਸਥਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| har bisaar j aan raachehi mithhan sabh bisathhaar ||1|| rehaao || |
| One who forgets the Lord and becomes involved with some other - all his showy pretensions are false. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਮਿ ਭਜੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪਾਪ ਹੋਵਤ ਖਾਰ ॥ |
| saadhhasangam bhaj suaamee paap hovath khaar || |
| Meditate, vibrate on our Lord and Master in the Company of the Holy, and your sins shall be eradicated. |

| ਚਰਨਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਬਸਾਇ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਜਨਮ ਨ ਮਾਰ ॥੧॥ |
| charanaarabindh basaae hiradhai bahur janam n maar ||1|| |
| When the Lord's Lotus Feet abide within the heart, the mortal is never again caught in the cycle of death and birth. ||1|| |
|
| ਕਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਏਕ ਨਾਮ ਅਧਾਰ ॥ |
| kar anugreh raakh leenae eaek naam adhhaar || |
| He showers us with His kindness and compassion; He saves and protects those who take the Support of the Naam, the Name of the One Lord. |

| ਦਿਨ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥੨॥੧੦੩॥੧੨੬॥ |
| dhin rain simarath sadhaa naanak mukh oojal dharabaar ||2||103||126|| |
| Meditating in remembrance on Him, day and night, O Nanak, your face shall be radiant in the Court of the Lord. ||2||103||126|| |

| Honored - you shall be honored in the Court of the Lord. |

| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ਬਿਨਸੀ ਸਭ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| saadhhasang mil har gun gaaeae binasee sabh abhimaanee ||1|| rehaao || |
| Join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord; your egotistical pride will be totally dispelled. ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਧਾਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਨੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪੂਰ ਗਿਆਨੀ ॥ |
| dhhaar anugrahu apanee kar leenee guramukh poor giaanee || |
| Showering His kindness and compassion, He shall make you His Own. As Gurmukh, your spiritual wisdom shall be perfect. |

| ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਘਨੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਦਰਸ ਧਿਆਨੀ ॥੧॥ |
| sarab sookh aanandh ghanaerae thaakur dharas dhhiaanee ||1|| |
| All peace and all sorts of ecstasy are obtained, by meditating on the Darshan, the Blessed Vision of my Lord and Master. ||1|| |

| ਨਿਕਟਿ ਵਰਤਨਿ ਸਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਸਾਈ ਜਾਨੀ ॥ |
| nikatt varathan saa sadhaa suhaagan dheh dhis saaee jaanee || |
| She who dwells close to her Lord is always the pure, happy soul-bride; she is famous in the ten directions. |

| ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਰੰਗ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੀ ਨਾਰਾਇਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ॥੨॥੧੦੪॥੧੨੭॥ |
| pria rang rang rathee naaraaein naanak this kurabaanee ||2||104||127|| |
| She is imbued with the Love of her Loving Beloved Lord; Nanak is a sacrifice to her. ||2||104||127|| |
