ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਓ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਦੂਖ ਵਿਸਾਰੀ ॥ |
anadhin har har dhhiaaeiou hiradhai math guramath dhookh visaaree || |
Night and day, I meditate on the Lord, Har, Har, within my heart; through the Guru's Teachings, my pain is forgotten. |

ਸਭ ਆਸਾ ਮਨਸਾ ਬੰਧਨ ਤੂਟੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ |
sabh aasaa manasaa bandhhan thoottae har har prabh kirapaa dhhaaree ||1|| |
The chains of all my hopes and desires have been snapped; my Lord God has showered me with His Mercy. ||1|| |

ਨੈਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਤਾਰੀ ॥ |

My eyes gaze eternally on the Lord, Har, Har. |

ਜਿਨਿ ਐਸਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਕੁਲਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਗਾਰੀ ॥ |
jin aisaa naam visaariaa maeraa har har this kai kul laagee gaaree || |
One who forgets such a Name of the Lord, Har, Har - his family is dishonored. |

ਹਰਿ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਕੁਲਿ ਪਰਸੂਤਿ ਨ ਕਰੀਅਹੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਧਵਾ ਕਰਿ ਮਹਤਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ |
har this kai kul parasooth n kareeahu this bidhhavaa kar mehathaaree ||2|| |
His family is sterile and barren, and his mother is made a widow. ||2|| |

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਨਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਹੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਜਿਸੁ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ |
har har aan milaavahu gur saadhhoo jis ahinis har our dhhaaree || |
O Lord, let me meet the Holy Guru, who night and day keep the Lord enshrined in his heart. |

ਗੁਰਿ ਡੀਠੈ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਿਖੁ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਜਿਉ ਬਾਰਿਕੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਮਹਤਾਰੀ ॥੩॥ |
gur ddeethai gur kaa sikh bigasai jio baarik dhaekh mehathaaree ||3|| |
Seeing the Guru, the GurSikh blossoms forth, like the child seeing his mother. ||3|| |

ਧਨ ਪਿਰ ਕਾ ਇਕ ਹੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਭੀਤਿ ਕਰਾਰੀ ॥ |
dhhan pir kaa eik hee sang vaasaa vich houmai bheeth karaaree || |
The soul-bride and the Husband Lord live together as one, but the hard wall of egotism has come between them. |

ਗੰਗਾ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਗੋਦਾਵਰੀ ਸਰਸੁਤੀ ਤੇ ਕਰਹਿ ਉਦਮੁ ਧੂਰਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਤਾਈ ॥ |
gangaa jamunaa godhaavaree sarasuthee thae karehi oudham dhhoor saadhhoo kee thaaee || |
The Ganges, the Jamunaa, the Godaavari and the Saraswati - these rivers strive for the dust of the feet of the Holy. |

ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਮੈਲੁ ਭਰੇ ਪਰੇ ਹਮਰੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਹਮਰੀ ਮੈਲੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਗਵਾਈ ॥੧॥ |
kilavikh mail bharae parae hamarai vich hamaree mail saadhhoo kee dhhoor gavaaee ||1|| |
Overflowing with their filthy sins, the mortals take cleansing baths in them; the rivers' pollution is washed away by the dust of the feet of the Holy. ||1|| |

ਤੀਰਥਿ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਨਾਈ ॥ |

Instead of bathing at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage, take your cleansing bath in the Name. |

ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਪਰੀ ਉਡਿ ਨੇਤ੍ਰੀ ਸਭ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਗਵਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
sathasangath kee dhhoor paree oudd naethree sabh dhuramath mail gavaaee ||1|| rehaao || |
When the dust of the feet of the Sat Sangat rises up into the eyes, all filthy evil-mindedness is removed. ||1||Pause|| |

ਜਾਹਰਨਵੀ ਤਪੈ ਭਾਗੀਰਥਿ ਆਣੀ ਕੇਦਾਰੁ ਥਾਪਿਓ ਮਹਸਾਈ ॥ |
jaaharanavee thapai bhaageerathh aanee kaedhaar thhaapiou mehasaaee || |
Bhaageerat'h the penitent brought the Ganges down, and Shiva established Kaydaar. |

ਕਾਂਸੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨੁ ਚਰਾਵਤ ਗਾਊ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਈ ॥੨॥ |
kaansee kirasan charaavath gaaoo mil har jan sobhaa paaee ||2|| |
Krishna grazed cows in Kaashi; through the humble servant of the Lord, these places became famous. ||2|| |

ਜਿਤਨੇ ਤੀਰਥ ਦੇਵੀ ਥਾਪੇ ਸਭਿ ਤਿਤਨੇ ਲੋਚਹਿ ਧੂਰਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਤਾਈ ॥ |
jithanae theerathh dhaevee thhaapae sabh thithanae lochehi dhhoor saadhhoo kee thaaee || |
And all the sacred shrines of pilgrimage established by the gods, long for the dust of the feet of the Holy. |

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਾਧੂ ਲੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਈ ॥੩॥ |
har kaa santh milai gur saadhhoo lai this kee dhhoor mukh laaee ||3|| |
Meeting with the Lord's Saint, the Holy Guru, I apply the dust of His feet to my face. ||3|| |

ਜਿਤਨੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਭ ਤਿਤਨੀ ਲੋਚੈ ਧੂਰਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਤਾਈ ॥ |
jithanee srisatt thumaree maerae suaamee sabh thithanee lochai dhhoor saadhhoo kee thaaee || |
And all the creatures of Your Universe, O my Lord and Master, long for the dust of the feet of the Holy. |

ਨਾਨਕ ਲਿਲਾਟਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰਿ ਦੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਲੰਘਾਈ ॥੪॥੨॥ |
naanak lilaatt hovai jis likhiaa this saadhhoo dhhoor dhae har paar langhaaee ||4||2|| |
O Nanak, one who has such destiny inscribed on his forehead, is blessed with the dust of the feet of the Holy; the Lord carries him across. ||4||2|| |

this jan ko har meeth lagaanaa jis har har kirapaa karai || |
The Lord seems sweet to that humble being who is blessed by the Grace of the Lord. |

ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਭੂਖ ਦੂਖ ਸਭਿ ਉਤਰੈ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਹਰਿ ਉਚਰੈ ॥੧॥ |
this kee bhookh dhookh sabh outharai jo har gun har oucharai ||1|| |
His hunger and pain are totally taken away; he chants the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1|| |

ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਸਤਰੈ ॥ |
jap man har har har nisatharai || |
Meditating on the Lord, Har, Har, Har, the mortal is emancipated. |

ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਬਚਨ ਕਰਨ ਸੁਨਿ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
gur kae bachan karan sun dhhiaavai bhav saagar paar parai ||1|| rehaao || |
One who listens to the Guru's Teachings and meditates on them, is carried across the terrifying world-ocean. ||1||Pause|| |

ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਹਮ ਹਾਟਿ ਬਿਹਾਝੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੈ ॥ |
this jan kae ham haatt bihaajhae jis har har kirapaa karai || |
I am the slave of that humble being, who is blessed by the Grace of the Lord, Har, Har. |

ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਭ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਹਰੈ ॥੨॥ |
har jan ko miliaaan sukh paaeeai sabh dhuramath mail harai ||2|| |
Meeting with the Lord's humble servant, peace is obtained; all the pollution and filth of evil-mindedness is washed away. ||2|| |

ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਭੂਖ ਲਗਾਨੀ ਜਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤੈ ਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਬਿਚਰੈ ॥ |
har jan ko har bhookh lagaanee jan thripathai jaa har gun bicharai || |
The humble servant of the Lord feels hunger only for the Lord. He is satisfied only when he chants the Lord's Glories. |

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਲ ਕਾ ਮੀਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਫੂਟਿ ਮਰੈ ॥੩॥ |
har kaa jan har jal kaa meenaa har bisarath foott marai ||3|| |
The humble servant of the Lord is a fish in the Water of the Lord. Forgetting the Lord, he would dry up and die. ||3|| |

ਜਿਨਿ ਏਹ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਾਈ ਸੋ ਜਾਨੈ ਕੈ ਜਾਨੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਧਰੈ ॥ |
jin eaeh preeth laaee so jaanai kai jaanai jis man dhharai || |
He alone knows this love, who enshrines it within his mind. |

ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਸਭ ਤਨ ਕੀ ਭੂਖ ਟਰੈ ॥੪॥੩॥ |
jan naanak har dhaekh sukh paavai sabh than kee bhookh ttarai ||4||3|| |
Servant Nanak gazes upon the Lord and is at peace; The hunger of his body is totally satisfied. ||4||3|| |

jithanae jeea janth prabh keenae thithanae sir kaar likhaavai || |
All the beings and creatures which God has created - on their foreheds, He has written their destiny. |

ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਦੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਵਡਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾਰੈ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ |
har jan ko har dheenh vaddaaee har jan har kaarai laavai ||1|| |
The Lord blesses His humble servant with glorious greatness. The Lord enjoins him to his tasks. ||1|| |

ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਸਿਖ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਤਰਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
har bolahu gur kae sikh maerae bhaaee har bhoujal jagath tharaavai ||1|| rehaao || |
Chant the Name of the Lord, O Sikhs of the Guru, O my Siblings of Destiny. Only the Lord will carry you across the terrifying world-ocean. ||1||Pause|| |

ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਜਨੁ ਪੂਜੇ ਸੇਵੇ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ॥ |
jo gur ko jan poojae saevae so jan maerae har prabh bhaavai || |
That humble being who worships, adores and serves the Guru is pleasing to my Lord God. |

ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਜਹੁ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਆਪਿ ਤਰਾਵੈ ॥੨॥ |
har kee saevaa sathigur poojahu kar kirapaa aap tharaavai ||2|| |
To worship and adore the True Guru is to serve the Lord. In His Mercy, He saves us and carries us across. ||2|| |

ਭਰਮਿ ਭੂਲੇ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਫੂਲ ਤੋਰਾਵੈ ॥ |
bharam bhoolae agiaanee andhhulae bhram bhram fool thoraavai || |
The ignorant and the blind wander deluded by doubt; deluded and confused, they pick flowers to offer to their idols. |

ਨਿਰਜੀਉ ਪੂਜਹਿ ਮੜਾ ਸਰੇਵਹਿ ਸਭ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਘਾਲ ਗਵਾਵੈ ॥੩॥ |
nirajeeo poojehi marraa saraevehi sabh birathhee ghaal gavaavai ||3|| |
They worship lifeless stones and serve the tombs of the dead; all their efforts are useless. ||3|| |

ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬਿੰਦੇ ਸੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣਾਵੈ ॥ |
breham bindhae so sathigur keheeai har har kathhaa sunaavai || |
He alone is said to be the True Guru, who realizes God, and proclaims the Sermon of the Lord, Har, Har. |

ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਛਾਦਨ ਭੋਜਨ ਪਾਟ ਪਟੰਬਰ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਸੰਚਹੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੁੰਨ ਕੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੪॥ |
this gur ko shhaadhan bhojan paatt pattanbar bahu bidhh sath kar mukh sanchahu this punn kee fir thott n aavai ||4|| |
Offer the Guru sacred foods, clothes, silk and satin robes of all sorts; know that He is True. The merits of this shall never leave you lacking. ||4|| |

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਉ ਪਰਤਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਜੋ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣਾਵੈ ॥ |
sathigur dhaeo parathakh har moorath jo anmrith bachan sunaavai || |
The Divine True Guru is the Embodiment, the Image of the Lord; He utters the Ambrosial Word. |

ਨਾਨਕ ਭਾਗ ਭਲੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੫॥੪॥ |

O Nanak, blessed and good is the destiny of that humble being, who focuses his consciousness on the Feet of the Lord. ||5||4|| |

jinh kai heearai basiou maeraa sathigur thae santh bhalae bhal bhaanth || |
Those whose hearts are filled with my True Guru - those Saints are good and noble in every way. |

ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਦੇਖੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਂਤ ॥੧॥ |
thinh dhaekhae maeraa man bigasai ho thin kai sadh bal jaanth ||1|| |
Seeing them, my mind blossoms forth in bliss; I am forever a sacrifice to them. ||1|| |
