| What are you so worried about? What are you thinking? What have you tried? |

| ਤਾ ਕਉ ਕਹਹੁ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਕਾਹੂ ਕੀ ਜਿਹ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਸਹਾਏ ॥੧॥ |

| Tell me - the Lord of the Universe - who controls Him? ||1|| |

| ਬਰਸੈ ਮੇਘੁ ਸਖੀ ਘਰਿ ਪਾਹੁਨ ਆਏ ॥ |
| barasai maegh sakhee ghar paahun aaeae || |
| The rain showers down from the clouds, O companion. The Guest has come into my home. |

| ਮੋਹਿ ਦੀਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| mohi dheen kirapaa nidhh thaakur nav nidhh naam samaaeae ||1|| rehaao || |
| I am meek; my Lord and Master is the Ocean of Mercy. I am absorbed in the nine treasures of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਅਨਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਭੋਜਨ ਬਹੁ ਕੀਏ ਬਹੁ ਬਿੰਜਨ ਮਿਸਟਾਏ ॥ |
| anik prakaar bhojan bahu keeeae bahu binjan misattaaeae || |
| I have prepared all sorts of foods in various ways, and all sorts of sweet deserts. |

| ਕਰੀ ਪਾਕਸਾਲ ਸੋਚ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਹੁਣਿ ਲਾਵਹੁ ਭੋਗੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਏ ॥੨॥ |
| karee paakasaal soch pavithraa hun laavahu bhog har raaeae ||2|| |
| I have made my kitchen pure and sacred. Now, O my Sovereign Lord King, please sample my food. ||2|| |

| ਦੁਸਟ ਬਿਦਾਰੇ ਸਾਜਨ ਰਹਸੇ ਇਹਿ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਘਰ ਅਪਨਾਏ ॥ |
| dhusatt bidhaarae saajan rehasae eihi mandhir ghar apanaaeae || |
| The villains have been destroyed, and my friends are delighted. This is Your Own Mansion and Temple, O Lord. |

| ਜਉ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਲਾਲੁ ਰੰਗੀਓ ਆਇਆ ਤਉ ਮੈ ਸਭਿ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਏ ॥੩॥ |
| jo grihi laal rangeeou aaeiaa tho mai sabh sukh paaeae ||3|| |
| When my Playful Beloved came into my household, then I found total peace. ||3|| |

| ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ਓਟ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੇਖੁ ਲਿਖਾਏ ॥ |
| santh sabhaa outt gur poorae dhhur masathak laekh likhaaeae || |
| In the Society of the Saints, I have the Support and Protection of the Perfect Guru; this is the pre-ordained destiny inscribed upon my forehead. |

| kheer adhhaar baarik jab hothaa bin kheerai rehan n jaaee || |
| When the baby's only food is milk, it cannot survive without its milk. |

| ਸਾਰਿ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲਿ ਮਾਤਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਨੀਰੈ ਤਬ ਓਹੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਈ ॥੧॥ |
| saar samhaal maathaa mukh neerai thab ouhu thripath aghaaee ||1|| |
| The mother takes care of it, and pours milk into its mouth; then, it is satisfied and fulfilled. ||1|| |

| ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਪਿਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦਾਤਾ ॥ |
| ham baarik pithaa prabh dhaathaa || |
| I am just a baby; God, the Great Giver, is my Father. |

| ਭੂਲਹਿ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਅਨਿਕ ਲਖ ਬਰੀਆ ਅਨ ਠਉਰ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਹ ਜਾਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| bhoolehi baarik anik lakh bareeaa an thour naahee jeh jaathaa ||1|| rehaao || |
| The child is so foolish; it makes so many mistakes. But it has nowhere else to go. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਚੰਚਲ ਮਤਿ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਬਪੁਰੇ ਕੀ ਸਰਪ ਅਗਨਿ ਕਰ ਮੇਲੈ ॥ |
| chanchal math baarik bapurae kee sarap agan kar maelai || |
| The mind of the poor child is fickle; he touches even snakes and fire. |

| ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਇ ਰਾਖੈ ਅਨਦ ਸਹਜਿ ਤਬ ਖੇਲੈ ॥੨॥ |
| maathaa pithaa kanth laae raakhai anadh sehaj thab khaelai ||2|| |
| His mother and father hug him close in their embrace, and so he plays in joy and bliss. ||2|| |
|
| ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਤੂ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਭੂਖ ਕੈਸੀ ॥ |
| jis kaa pithaa thoo hai maerae suaamee this baarik bhookh kaisee || |
| What hunger can the child ever have, O my Lord and Master, when You are his Father? |

| ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਬਾਂਛੈ ਸੋ ਲੈਸੀ ॥੩॥ |
| nav nidhh naam nidhhaan grihi thaerai man baanshhai so laisee ||3|| |
| The treasure of the Naam and the nine treasures are in Your celestial household. You fulfill the desires of the mind. ||3|| |

| ਪਿਤਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਿ ਆਗਿਆ ਇਹ ਦੀਨੀ ਬਾਰਿਕੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਮਾਂਗੈ ਸੋ ਦੇਨਾ ॥ |
| pithaa kirapaal aagiaa eih dheenee baarik mukh maangai so dhaenaa || |
| My Merciful Father has issued this Command: whatever the child asks for, is put into his mouth. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਬਾਰਿਕੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਚਾਹੈ ਮੋਹਿ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸਹਿ ਨਿਤ ਚਰਨਾ ॥੪॥੨॥ |

| Nanak, the child, longs for the Blessed Vision of God's Darshan. May His Feet always dwell within my heart. ||4||2|| |

| I tried everything, and gathered all devices together; I have discarded all my anxieties. |

| ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸਗਲ ਅਰੰਭਿਓ ਘਰ ਕਾ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਾਰੋਸਾ ॥੧॥ |
| kaaraj sagal aranbhiou ghar kaa thaakur kaa bhaarosaa ||1|| |
| I have begun to set all my household affairs right; I have placed my faith in my Lord and Master. ||1|| |

| I listen to the celestial vibrations resonating and resounding. |

| Sunrise has come, and I gaze upon the Face of my Beloved. My household is filled with peace and pleasure. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਮਨੂਆ ਲਾਇ ਸਵਾਰੇ ਥਾਨਾਂ ਪੂਛਉ ਸੰਤਾ ਜਾਏ ॥ |
| manooaa laae savaarae thhaanaan pooshho santhaa jaaeae || |
| I focus my mind, and embellish and adorn the place within; then I go out to speak with the Saints. |

| ਜਬ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਆਇ ਬਸੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਆਸਨਿ ਤਬ ਹਮ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ॥ |
| jab pria aae basae grihi aasan thab ham mangal gaaeiaa || |
| When my Beloved came to live in my house, I began to sing the songs of bliss. |

| ਮੀਤ ਸਾਜਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਏ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥੩॥ |
| meeth saajan maerae bheae suhaelae prabh pooraa guroo milaaeiaa ||3|| |
| My friends and companions are happy; God leads me to meet the Perfect Guru. ||3|| |
|
| ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਲੀ ਭਏ ਅਨੰਦਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਾਰਜ ਹਮਰੇ ਪੂਰੇ ॥ |
| sakhee sehaelee bheae anandhaa gur kaaraj hamarae poorae || |
| My friends and companions are in ecstasy; the Guru has completed all my projects. |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਦੂਰੇ ॥੪॥੩॥ |

| Says Nanak, I have met my Husband, the Giver of peace; He shall never leave me and go away. ||4||3|| |

| raaj thae keett keett thae surapath kar dhokh jathar ko bharathae || |
| From a king to a worm, and from a worm to the lord of gods, they engage in evil to fill their bellies. |

| ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਆਨ ਕਉ ਪੂਜਹਿ ਆਤਮ ਘਾਤੀ ਹਰਤੇ ॥੧॥ |
| kirapaa nidhh shhodd aan ko poojehi aatham ghaathee harathae ||1|| |
| They renounce the Lord, the Ocean of Mercy, and worship some other; they are thieves and killers of the soul. ||1|| |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਤੇ ਦੁਖਿ ਦੁਖਿ ਮਰਤੇ ॥ |
| har bisarath thae dhukh dhukh marathae || |
| Forgetting the Lord, they suffer in sorrow and die. |

| ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਰ ਭ੍ਰਮਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨੀ ਟੇਕ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਧਰਤੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| anik baar bhramehi bahu jonee ttaek n kaahoo dhharathae ||1|| rehaao || |
| They wander lost in reincarnation through all sorts of species; they do not find shelter anywhere. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਤਿਆਗਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਨ ਕਉ ਚਿਤਵਤ ਮੂੜ ਮੁਗਧ ਖਲ ਖਰ ਤੇ ॥ |
| thiaag suaamee aan ko chithavath moorr mugadhh khal khar thae || |
| Those who abandon their Lord and Master and think of some other, are foolish, stupid, idiotic donkeys. |

| ਕਾਗਰ ਨਾਵ ਲੰਘਹਿ ਕਤ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਕਥਤ ਹਮ ਤਰਤੇ ॥੨॥ |
| kaagar naav langhehi kath saagar brithhaa kathhath ham tharathae ||2|| |
| How can they cross over the ocean in a paper boat? Their eogtistical boasts that they will cross over are meaningless. ||2|| |
|
| ਸਿਵ ਬਿਰੰਚਿ ਅਸੁਰ ਸੁਰ ਜੇਤੇ ਕਾਲ ਅਗਨਿ ਮਹਿ ਜਰਤੇ ॥ |

| Shiva, Brahma, angels and demons, all burn in the fire of death. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲਨ ਕੀ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਨ ਡਾਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਤੇ ॥੩॥੪॥ |

| Associating with the Saints, God has come into my consciousness. By their Grace, I have been awakened. |

| ਸੁਨਿ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਭਏ ਮਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਂਗੀ ॥੧॥ |
| sun oupadhaes bheae man niramal gun gaaeae rang raangee ||1|| |
| Hearing the Teachings, my mind has become immaculate. Imbued with the Lord's Love, I sing His Glorious Praises. ||1|| |

| ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੇਇ ਕੀਏ ਸੰਤ ਮੀਤਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਭਏ ਬਡਭਾਗਂੀ ॥ |
| eihu man dhaee keeeae santh meethaa kirapaal bheae baddabhaaganaee || |
| Dedicating this mind, I have made friends with the Saints. They have become merciful to me; I am very fortunate. |

| ਮਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਬਰਨਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ਰੇਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਪਾਗੀ ॥੨॥੧॥੫॥ |

| I have found absolute peace - I cannot describe it. Nanak has obtained the dust of the feet of the humble. ||2||1||5|| |
