| The Unfathomable Lord shall come into your mind, |

| ਜਗੁ ਜੀਤੋ ਹੋ ਹੋ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾਧਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| jag jeetho ho ho gur kirapaadhh ||1|| rehaao || |
| and by Guru's Grace, you shall be victorious in this world. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਅਨਿਕ ਪੂਜਾ ਮੈ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਖੋਜੀ ਸਾ ਪੂਜਾ ਜਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵਾਸਿ ॥ |
| anik poojaa mai bahu bidhh khojee saa poojaa j har bhaavaas || |
| I have studied countless ways of worship in all sorts of ways, but that alone is worship, which is pleasing to the Lord's Will. |

| ਮਾਟੀ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਪੁਤਰੀ ਜੋਰੀ ਕਿਆ ਏਹ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਸਿ ॥ |
| maattee kee eih putharee joree kiaa eaeh karam kamaas || |
| This body-puppet is made of clay - what can it do by itself? |

| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਹ ਪਕਰਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਸੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਜੰਤ ਮਿਲਾਸਿ ॥੧॥ |
| prabh baah pakar jis maarag paavahu so thudhh janth milaas ||1|| |
| O God, those humble beings meet You, whom You grasp by the arm, and place on the Path. ||1|| |

| ਅਵਰ ਓਟ ਮੈ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਸੂਝੈ ਇਕ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਓਟ ਮੈ ਆਸ ॥ |
| avar outt mai koe n soojhai eik har kee outt mai aas || |
| I do not know of any other support; O Lord, You are my only Hope and Support. |

| ਕਿਆ ਦੀਨੁ ਕਰੇ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥ |
| kiaa dheen karae aradhaas || |
| I am meek and poor - what prayer can I offer? |
|
| ਜਉ ਸਭ ਘਟਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਿਵਾਸ ॥ |
| jo sabh ghatt prabhoo nivaas || |
| God abides in every heart. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਚਰਨਨ ਕੀ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਸ ॥ |
| prabh charanan kee man piaas || |
| My mind is thirsty for the Feet of God. |

| ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਕਹੀਅਤੁ ਹੈ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਰਾ ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਸ ॥੨॥੧॥੩੩॥ |
| jan naanak dhaas keheeath hai thumharaa ho bal bal sadh bal jaas ||2||1||33|| |

| Your Name, O my Beloved, is the Saving Grace of the world. |

| ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੇਰੈ ॥ |
| nav nidhh naam nidhhaan har kaerai || |
| The Lord's Name is the wealth of the nine treasures. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗ ਰੰਗ ਰੰਗ ਅਨੂਪੇਰੈ ॥ |
| har rang rang rang anoopaerai || |
| One who is imbued with the Love of the Incomparably Beautiful Lord is joyful. |
|
| ਕਾਹੇ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਗਨੇਰੈ ॥ |
| kaahae rae man mohi maganaerai || |
| O mind, why do you cling to emotional attachments? |
|
| ਨੈਨਹੁ ਦੇਖੁ ਸਾਧ ਦਰਸੇਰੈ ॥ |
| nainahu dhaekh saadhh dharasaerai || |
| With your eyes, gaze upon the Blessed Vision, the Darshan of the Holy. |
|
| ਸੋ ਪਾਵੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਲਿਖਤੁ ਲਿਲੇਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| so paavai jis likhath lilaerai ||1|| rehaao || |
| They alone find it, who have such destiny inscribed upon their foreheads. ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਸੇਵਉ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਤ ਚਰਨੇਰੈ ॥ |
| saevo saadhh santh charanaerai || |
| I serve at the feet of the Holy Saints. |
|
| ਬਾਂਛਉ ਧੂਰਿ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰੇਰੈ ॥ |
| baanshho dhhoor pavithr karaerai || |
| I long for the dust of their feet, which purifies and sanctifies. |
|
| ਅਠਸਠਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਮੈਲੁ ਕਟੇਰੈ ॥ |
| athasath majan mail kattaerai || |
| Just like the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage, it washes away filth and pollution. |
|
| ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਮੁਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਮੋਰੈ ॥ |
| saas saas dhhiaavahu mukh nehee morai || |
| With each and every breath I meditate on Him, and never turn my face away. |
|
| ਕਿਛੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਚਾਲੈ ਲਾਖ ਕਰੋਰੈ ॥ |
| kishh sang n chaalai laakh karorai || |
| Of your thousands and millions, nothing shall go along with you. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਤਿ ਪੁਕਰੋਰੈ ॥੧॥ |
| prabh jee ko naam anth pukarorai ||1|| |
| Only the Name of God will call to you in the end. ||1|| |

| ਮਨਸਾ ਮਾਨਿ ਏਕ ਨਿਰੰਕੇਰੈ ॥ |
| manasaa maan eaek nirankaerai || |
| Let it be your wish to honor and obey the One Formless Lord. |

| ਸਗਲ ਤਿਆਗਹੁ ਭਾਉ ਦੂਜੇਰੈ ॥ |
| sagal thiaagahu bhaao dhoojaerai || |
| Abandon the love of everything else. |
|
| ਕਵਨ ਕਹਾਂ ਹਉ ਗੁਨ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਤੇਰੈ ॥ |
| kavan kehaan ho gun pria thaerai || |
| What Glorious Praises of Yours can I utter, O my Beloved? |
|
| ਬਰਨਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ਏਕ ਟੁਲੇਰੈ ॥ |
| baran n saako eaek ttulaerai || |
| I cannot describe even one of Your Virtues. |
|
| ਦਰਸਨ ਪਿਆਸ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਮਨਿ ਮੇਰੈ ॥ |
| dharasan piaas bahuth man maerai || |
| My mind is so thirsty for the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. |

| How may I obtain the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan? ||1||Pause|| |

| ਆਸ ਪਿਆਸ ਸਫਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਉਮਗਿ ਹੀਉ ਤਰਸਨਾ ॥੧॥ |
| aas piaas safal moorath oumag heeo tharasanaa ||1|| |
| I hope and thirst for Your wish-fulfilling image; my heart yearns and longs for You. ||1|| |

| ਦੀਨ ਲੀਨ ਪਿਆਸ ਮੀਨ ਸੰਤਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਨਾ ॥ |
| dheen leen piaas meen santhanaa har santhanaa || |
| The meek and humble Saints are like thirsty fish; the Saints of the Lord are absorbed in Him. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਨਾ ਕੀ ਰੇਨ ॥ |
| har santhanaa kee raen || |
| I am the dust of the feet of the Lord's Saints. |
|
| ਹੀਉ ਅਰਪਿ ਦੇਨ ॥ |
| heeo arap dhaen || |
| I dedicate my heart to them. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਕਿਰਪੇਨ ॥ |

| God has become Merciful to me. |

| ਮਾਨੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਛੋਡਿਓ ਤਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਭੇਟਨਾ ॥੨॥੨॥੩੫॥ |
| maan mohu thiaag shhoddiou tho naanak har jeeo bhaettanaa ||2||2||35|| |
| Renouncing pride and leaving behind emotional attachment, O Nanak, one meets with the Dear Lord. ||2||2||35|| |

| The Playful Lord imbues all with the Color of His Love. |

| ਕੀਟ ਹਸਤ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਭ ਸੰਗਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| keett hasath pooran sabh sangaa ||1|| rehaao || |
| From the ant to the elephant, He is permeating and pervading all. ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਬਰਤ ਨੇਮ ਤੀਰਥ ਸਹਿਤ ਗੰਗਾ ॥ |
| barath naem theerathh sehith gangaa || |
| Some go on fasts, make vows, and take pilgrimages to sacred shrines on the Ganges. |
|
| ਜਲੁ ਹੇਵਤ ਭੂਖ ਅਰੁ ਨੰਗਾ ॥ |
| jal haevath bhookh ar nangaa || |
| They stand naked in the water, enduring hunger and poverty. |
|
| ਪੂਜਾਚਾਰ ਕਰਤ ਮੇਲੰਗਾ ॥ |
| poojaachaar karath maelangaa || |
| They sit cross-legged, perform worship services and do good deeds. |
|
| ਚਕ੍ਰ ਕਰਮ ਤਿਲਕ ਖਾਟੰਗਾ ॥ |
| chakr karam thilak khaattangaa || |
| They apply religious symbols to their bodies, and ceremonial marks to their limbs. |
|
| ਦਰਸਨੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਸੰਗਾ ॥੧॥ |
| dharasan bhaettae bin sathasangaa ||1|| |
| They read through the Shaastras, but they do not join the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation. ||1|| |
|
| ਹਠਿ ਨਿਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਅਤਿ ਰਹਤ ਬਿਟੰਗਾ ॥ |
| hath nigrehi ath rehath bittangaa || |
| They stubbornly practice ritualistic postures, standing on their heads. |
|
| ਹਉ ਰੋਗੁ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਚੁਕੈ ਨ ਭੰਗਾ ॥ |
| ho rog biaapai chukai n bhangaa || |
| They are afflicted with the disease of egotism, and their faults are not covered up. |
|
| ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਤਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਜਰੰਗਾ ॥ |
| kaam krodhh ath thrisan jarangaa || |
| They burn in the fire of sexual frustration, unresolved anger and compulsive desire. |
|
| ਸੋ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਚੰਗਾ ॥੨॥੩॥੩੬॥ |
| so mukath naanak jis sathigur changaa ||2||3||36|| |
| He alone is liberated, O Nanak, whose True Guru is Good. ||2||3||36|| |
