| Prabhaatee, Fifth Mehl: |

| ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਅਨੰਦ ॥ |
| gun gaavath man hoe anandh || |
| Singing His Glorious Praises, the mind is in ecstasy. |
|
| ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਸਿਮਰਉ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥ |
| aath pehar simaro bhagavanth || |
| Twenty-four hours a day, I meditate in remembrance on God. |
|
| ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕਲਮਲ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ |
| jaa kai simaran kalamal jaahi || |
| Remembering Him in meditation, the sins go away. |
|
| ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਹਮ ਚਰਨੀ ਪਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ |
| this gur kee ham charanee paahi ||1|| |
| I fall at the Feet of that Guru. ||1|| |
|
| ਸੁਮਤਿ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥ |
| sumath dhaevahu santh piaarae || |
| O beloved Saints, please bless me with wisdom; |
|
| ਸਿਮਰਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| simaro naam mohi nisathaarae ||1|| rehaao || |
| let me meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and be emancipated. ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਹਿਆ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਸੀਧਾ ॥ |
| jin gur kehiaa maarag seedhhaa || |
| The Guru has shown me the straight path; |
|
| ਸਗਲ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੀਧਾ ॥ |
| sagal thiaag naam har geedhhaa || |
| I have abandoned everything else. I am enraptured with the Name of the Lord. |
|
| ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਦਾ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥ |
| this gur kai sadhaa bal jaaeeai || |
| I am forever a sacrifice to that Guru; |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੨॥ |
| har simaran jis gur thae paaeeai ||2|| |
| I meditate in remembrance on the Lord, through the Guru. ||2|| |
|
| ਬੂਡਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਹਿ ਤਰਾਇਆ ॥ |
| booddath praanee jin gurehi tharaaeiaa || |
| The Guru carries those mortal beings across, and saves them from drowning. |
|
| ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮੋਹੈ ਨਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ॥ |
| jis prasaadh mohai nehee maaeiaa || |
| By His Grace, they are not enticed by Maya; |
|
| ਹਲਤੁ ਪਲਤੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਹਿ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥ |
| halath palath jin gurehi savaariaa || |
| in this world and the next, they are embellished and exalted by the Guru. |
|
| ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਉ ਵਾਰਿਆ ॥੩॥ |
| this gur oopar sadhaa ho vaariaa ||3|| |
| I am forever a sacrifice to that Guru. ||3|| |
|
| ਮਹਾ ਮੁਗਧ ਤੇ ਕੀਆ ਗਿਆਨੀ ॥ |
| mehaa mugadhh thae keeaa giaanee || |
| From the most ignorant, I have been made spiritually wise, |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਨੀ ॥ |
| gur poorae kee akathh kehaanee || |
| through the Unspoken Speech of the Perfect Guru. |
|
| ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥ |

| The Divine Guru, O Nanak, is the Supreme Lord God. |
|
| ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵ ॥੪॥੩॥ |

| By great good fortune, I serve the Lord. ||4||3|| |

| ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਮਿਟੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੀਏ ਅਪਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| sagalae dhookh mittae sukh dheeeae apanaa naam japaaeiaa || |
| Eradicating all my pains, He has blessed me with peace, and inspired me to chant His Name. |

| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪਨੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਏ ਸਗਲਾ ਦੁਰਤੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ |
| kar kirapaa apanee saevaa laaeae sagalaa dhurath mittaaeiaa ||1|| |
| In His Mercy, He has enjoined me to His service, and has purged me of all my sins. ||1|| |
|
| ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਇਆਲ ॥ |
| ham baarik saran prabh dhaeiaal || |
| I am only a child; I seek the Sanctuary of God the Merciful. |

| ਅਵਗਣ ਕਾਟਿ ਕੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਏ ਮੇਰੈ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਪਾਲਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| avagan kaatt keeeae prabh apunae raakh leeeae maerai gur gopaal ||1|| rehaao || |
| Erasing my demerits and faults, God has made me His Own. My Guru, the Lord of the World, protects me. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਤਾਪ ਪਾਪ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਖਿਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਗੁਸਾਈ ॥ |
| thaap paap binasae khin bheethar bheae kirapaal gusaaee || |
| My sicknesses and sins were erased in an instant, when the Lord of the World became merciful. |

| ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਅਰਾਧੀ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥ |
| saas saas paarabreham araadhhee apunae sathigur kai bal jaaee ||2|| |
| With each and very breath, I worship and adore the Supreme Lord God; I am a sacrifice to the True Guru. ||2|| |

| ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਬਿਅੰਤੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ |
| agam agochar bianth suaamee thaa kaa anth n paaeeai || |
| My Lord and Master is Inaccessible, Unfathomable and Infinite. His limits cannot be found. |
|
| ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇਆ ॥ |
| aath pehar paarabreham dhhiaaee sadhaa sadhaa gun gaaeiaa || |
| Twenty-four hours a day, I meditate on the Supreme Lord God; I sing His Glorious Praises forever and ever. |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੪॥ |
| kahu naanak maerae poorae manorathh paarabreham gur paaeiaa ||4||4|| |
| Says Nanak, my desires have been fulfilled; I have found my Guru, the Supreme Lord God. ||4||4|| |

| ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਸਭਿ ਨਾਸੇ ॥ |
| simarath naam kilabikh sabh naasae || |
| Meditating in rememberance on the Naam, all my sins have been erased. |
|
| ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਰਾਸੇ ॥ |
| sach naam gur dheenee raasae || |
| The Guru has blessed me with the Capital of the True Name. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤੇ ॥ |
| prabh kee dharageh sobhaavanthae || |
| God's servants are embellished and exalted in His Court; |
|
| ਸੇਵਕ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੋਹੰਤੇ ॥੧॥ |
| saevak saev sadhaa sohanthae ||1|| |
| serving Him, they look beauteous forever. ||1|| |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥ |
| har har naam japahu maerae bhaaee || |
| Chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, O my Siblings of Destiny. |
|
| ਸਗਲੇ ਰੋਗ ਦੋਖ ਸਭਿ ਬਿਨਸਹਿ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| sagalae rog dhokh sabh binasehi agiaan andhhaeraa man thae jaaee ||1|| rehaao || |
| All sickness and sin shall be erased; your mind shall be rid of the darkness of ignorance. ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਮੀਤ ॥ |
| janam maran gur raakhae meeth || |
| The Guru has saved me from death and rebirth, O friend; |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥ |
| har kae naam sio laagee preeth || |
| I am in love with the Name of the Lord. |
|
| ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਗਏ ਕਲੇਸ ॥ |
| kott janam kae geae kalaes || |
| The suffering of millions of incarnations is gone; |
|
| ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਭਲ ਹੋਸ ॥੨॥ |
| jo this bhaavai so bhal hos ||2|| |
| whatever pleases Him is good. ||2|| |
|
| ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥ |
| this gur ko ho sadh bal jaaee || |
| I am forever a sacrifice to the Guru; |
|
| ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥ |
| jis prasaadh har naam dhhiaaee || |
| by His Grace, I meditate on the Lord's Name. |
|
| ਐਸਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥ |
| aisaa gur paaeeai vaddabhaagee || |
| By great good fortune, such a Guru is found; |
|
| ਜਿਸੁ ਮਿਲਤੇ ਰਾਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥੩॥ |
| jis milathae raam liv laagee ||3|| |
| meeting Him, one is lovingly attuned to the Lord. ||3|| |
|
| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥ |
| kar kirapaa paarabreham suaamee || |
| Please be merciful, O Supreme Lord God, O Lord and Master, |
|
| ਸਗਲ ਘਟਾ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥ |
| sagal ghattaa kae antharajaamee || |
| Inner-knower, Searcher of Hearts. |
|
| ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ |
| aath pehar apunee liv laae || |
| Twenty-four hours a day, I am lovingly attuned to You. |
|
| ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾਇ ॥੪॥੫॥ |
