| ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਨ ਕਉ ਦੀਏ ॥ |
| har kaa naam japan ko dheeeae || |
| He has blessed me with the Naam, the Name of the Lord. |

| ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਗੁਬਿੰਦ ॥ |
| aath pehar gun gaae gubindh || |
| Twenty-four hours a day, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. |

| ਭੈ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਉਤਰੀ ਸਭ ਚਿੰਦ ॥੧॥ |
| bhai binasae outharee sabh chindh ||1|| |
| Fear is dispelled, and all anxiety has been alleviated. ||1|| |

| ਉਬਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਨੀ ਲਾਗਿ ॥ |
| oubarae sathigur charanee laag || |
| I have been saved, touching the Feet of the True Guru. |

| ਜੋ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਹੈ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਮੀਠਾ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮਤਿ ਤਿਆਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| jo gur kehai soee bhal meethaa man kee math thiaag ||1|| rehaao || |
| Whatever the Guru says is good and sweet to me. I have renounced the intellectual wisdom of my mind. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥ |
| man than vasiaa har prabh soee || |
| That Lord God abides within my mind and body. |

| ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਕਿਛੁ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥ |
| kal kalaes kishh bighan n hoee || |
| There are no conflicts, pains or obstacles. |
|
| ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜੀਅ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥ |
| sadhaa sadhaa prabh jeea kai sang || |
| Forever and ever, God is with my soul. |
|
| ਉਤਰੀ ਮੈਲੁ ਨਾਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੨॥ |
| outharee mail naam kai rang ||2|| |
| Filth and pollution are washed away by the Love of the Name. ||2|| |
|
| ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੋ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ |
| charan kamal sio laago piaar || |
| I am in love with the Lotus Feet of the Lord; |
|
| ਬਿਨਸੇ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ॥ |
| binasae kaam krodhh ahankaar || |
| I am no longer consumed by sexual desire, anger and egotism. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਨ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਜਾਨਾਂ ॥ |
| prabh milan kaa maarag jaanaan || |
| Now, I know the way to meet God. |
|
| ਭਾਇ ਭਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਾਂ ॥੩॥ |
| bhaae bhagath har sio man maanaan ||3|| |
| Through loving devotional worship, my mind is pleased and appeased with the Lord. ||3|| |

| ਸੁਣਿ ਸਜਣ ਸੰਤ ਮੀਤ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ॥ |
| sun sajan santh meeth suhaelae || |
| Listen, O friends, Saints, my exalted companions. |
|
| ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਹ ਅਤੋਲੇ ॥ |
| naam rathan har ageh atholae || |
| The Jewel of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is unfathomable and immeasurable. |
|
| ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥ |
| sadhaa sadhaa prabh gun nidhh gaaeeai || |
| Forever and ever, sing the Glories of God, the Treasure of Virtue. |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੪॥੬॥ |
| kahu naanak vaddabhaagee paaeeai ||4||6|| |
| Says Nanak, by great good fortune, He is found. ||4||6|| |

| They are wealthy, and they are the true merchants, |

| ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਹਾ ॥੧॥ |
| har kee dharageh naam visaahaa ||1|| |
| who have the credit of the Naam in the Court of the Lord. ||1|| |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਮਨ ਮੀਤ ॥ |
| har har naam japahu man meeth || |
| So chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, in your mind, my friends. |

| ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਪੂਰਨ ਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| gur pooraa paaeeai vaddabhaagee niramal pooran reeth ||1|| rehaao || |
| The Perfect Guru is found by great good fortune, and then one's lifestyle becomes perfect and immaculate. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਪਾਇਆ ਲਾਭੁ ਵਜੀ ਵਾਧਾਈ ॥ |
| paaeiaa laabh vajee vaadhhaaee || |
| They earn the profit, and the congratulations pour in; |
|
| ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਈ ॥੨॥ |
| santh prasaadh har kae gun gaaee ||2|| |
| by the Grace of the Saints, they sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||2|| |
|
| ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਜੀਵਨ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥ |
| safal janam jeevan paravaan || |
| Their lives are fruitful and prosperous, and their birth is approved; |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣੁ ॥੩॥ |
| gur parasaadhee har rang maan ||3|| |
| by Guru's Grace, they enjoy the Love of the Lord. ||3|| |
|
| ਬਿਨਸੇ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ॥ |
| binasae kaam krodhh ahankaar || |
| Sexuality, anger and egotism are wiped away; |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੭॥ |
| naanak guramukh outharehi paar ||4||7|| |
| O Nanak, as Gurmukh, they are carried across to the other shore. ||4||7|| |

| The Word of the Guru's Shabad is unchanging, forever and ever. |

| ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ॥ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਸਭੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਨਸੈ ॥੧॥ |
| gur kee baanee jis man vasai || dhookh dharadh sabh thaa kaa nasai ||1|| |
| All pains and afflictions run away from those, whose minds are filled with the Word of the Guru's Bani. ||1|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਮ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥ |
| har rang raathaa man raam gun gaavai || |
| Imbued with the Lord's Love, they sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. |

| ਮੁਕਤ+ ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰੀ ਨਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| mukathuo saadhhoo dhhooree naavai ||1|| rehaao || |
| They are liberated, bathing in the dust of the feet of the Holy. ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਉਤਰੇ ਪਾਰਿ ॥ |
| gur parasaadhee outharae paar || |
| By Guru's Grace, they are carried across to the other shore; |
|
| ਭਉ ਭਰਮੁ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥ |
| bho bharam binasae bikaar || |
| they are rid of fear, doubt and corruption. |
|
| ਮਨ ਤਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਸੇ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨਾ ॥ |
| man than anthar basae gur charanaa || |
| The Guru's Feet abide deep within their minds and bodies. |
|
| ਨਿਰਭੈ ਸਾਧ ਪਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਨਾ ॥੨॥ |
| nirabhai saadhh parae har saranaa ||2|| |
| The Holy are fearless; they take to the Sanctuary of the Lord. ||2|| |
|
| ਅਨਦ ਸਹਜ ਰਸ ਸੂਖ ਘਨੇਰੇ ॥ |
| anadh sehaj ras sookh ghanaerae || |
| They are blessed with abundant bliss, happiness, pleasure and peace. |
|
| ਦੁਸਮਨੁ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਨੇਰੇ ॥ |
| dhusaman dhookh n aavai naerae || |
| Enemies and pains do not even approach them. |
|
| ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ॥ |
| gur poorai apunae kar raakhae || |
| The Perfect Guru makes them His Own, and protects them. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਸਭਿ ਲਾਥੇ ॥੩॥ |
| har naam japath kilabikh sabh laathhae ||3|| |
| Chanting the Lord's Name, they are rid of all their sins. ||3|| |
|
| ਸੰਤ ਸਾਜਨ ਸਿਖ ਭਏ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ॥ |
| santh saajan sikh bheae suhaelae || |
| The Saints, spiritual companions and Sikhs are exalted and uplifted. |
|
| ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਉ ਲੈ ਮੇਲੇ ॥ |
| gur poorai prabh sio lai maelae || |
| The Perfect Guru leads them to meet God. |
|
| ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੁਖ ਫਾਹਾ ਕਾਟਿਆ ॥ |
| janam maran dhukh faahaa kaattiaa || |
| The painful noose of death and rebirth is snapped. |
|
| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੜਦਾ ਢਾਕਿਆ ॥੪॥੮॥ |
