| ਸਿਧ੍ਯ੍ਯੰ ਸਰਬ ਕੁਸਲਣਹ ॥ |

| I am blessed with total happiness. |

| ਗਾਥਾ ਗਾਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਬ੍ਯ੍ਯੰ ਪਰਾ ਪੂਰਬਣਹ ॥੧੮॥ |
| gaathhaa gaavanth naanak bhabyan paraa poorabaneh ||18|| |
| Holy people have been singing this Gaat'haa, O Nanak, since the very beginning of time. ||18|| |

| ਸੁਭ ਬਚਨ ਰਮਣੰ ਗਵਣੰ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗੇਣ ਉਧਰਣਹ ॥ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਗਰੰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੁਨਰਪਿ ਜਨਮ ਨ ਲਭ੍ਯ੍ਯਤੇ ॥੧੯॥ |
| subh bachan ramanan gavanan saadhh sangaen oudhharaneh || sansaar saagaran naanak punarap janam n labhyathae ||19|| |
| Chanting and singing the Sublime Word of God in the Saadh Sangat, mortals are saved from the world-ocean. O Nanak, they shall never again be consigned to reincarnation. ||19|| |
|
| ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਬੀਚਾਰੰ ॥ |
| baedh puraan saasathr beechaaran || |
| People contemplate the Vedas, Puraanas and Shaastras. |
|
| ਏਕੰਕਾਰ ਨਾਮ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੰ ॥ |
| eaekankaar naam our dhhaaran || |
| But by enshrining in their hearts the Naam, the Name of the One and Only Creator of the Universe, |
|
| ਕੁਲਹ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਗਲ ਉਧਾਰੰ ॥ |
| kuleh samooh sagal oudhhaaran || |
| everyone can be saved. |
|
| ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੋ ਤਾਰੰ ॥੨੦॥ |
| baddabhaagee naanak ko thaaran ||20|| |
| By great good fortune, O Nanak, a few cross over like this. ||20|| |
|
| ਸਿਮਰਣੰ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਾਮੰ ਉਧਰਣੰ ਕੁਲ ਸਮੂਹਣਹ ॥ |
| simaranan gobindh naaman oudhharanan kul samoohaneh || |
| Meditating in remembrance on the Naam, the Name of Lord of the Universe, all one's generations are saved. |

| ਲਬਧਿਅੰ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗੇਣ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਭੇਟੰਤਿ ਦਰਸਨਹ ॥੨੧॥ |
| labadhhian saadhh sangaen naanak vaddabhaagee bhaettanth dharasaneh ||21|| |
| It is obtained in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. O Nanak, by great good fortune, the Blessed Vision of His Darshan is seen. ||21|| |

| ਸਰਬ ਦੋਖ ਪਰੰਤਿਆਗੀ ਸਰਬ ਧਰਮ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੰਤਣਃ ॥ |
| sarab dhokh paranthiaagee sarab dhharam dhrirranthana || |
| Abandon all your evil habits, and implant all Dharmic faith within. |
|
| ਲਬਧੇਣਿ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗੇਣਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖ੍ਯ੍ਯਣਃ ॥੨੨॥ |
| labadhhaen saadhh sangaen naanak masathak likhyana ||22|| |
| The Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, is obtained, O Nanak, by those who have such destiny written upon their foreheads. ||22|| |
|
| ਹੋਯੋ ਹੈ ਹੋਵੰਤੋ ਹਰਣ ਭਰਣ ਸੰਪੂਰਣਃ ॥ |
| hoyo hai hovantho haran bharan sanpoorana || |
| God was, is, and shall always be. He sustains and destroys all. |
|
| ਸਾਧੂ ਸਤਮ ਜਾਣੋ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕਾਰਣੰ ॥੨੩॥ |
| saadhhoo satham jaano naanak preeth kaaranan ||23|| |
| Know that these Holy people are true, O Nanak; they are in love with the Lord. ||23|| |
|
| ਸੁਖੇਣ ਬੈਣ ਰਤਨੰ ਰਚਨੰ ਕਸੁੰਭ ਰੰਗਣਃ ॥ |
| sukhaen bain rathanan rachanan kasunbh rangana || |
| The mortal is engrossed in sweet words and transitory pleasures which shall soon fade away. |

| ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਬਿਓਗੰ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੁ ਨ ਸੁਪਨਹ ॥੨੪॥ |
| rog sog biougan naanak sukh n supaneh ||24|| |
| Disease, sorrow and separation afflict him; O Nanak, he never finds peace, even in dreams. ||24|| |

| haathh kalanm aganm masathak laekhaavathee || |
| With Pen in Hand, the Unfathomable Lord writes the mortal's destiny upon his forehead. |

| ਉਰਝਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਭ ਸੰਗਿ ਅਨੂਪ ਰੂਪਾਵਤੀ ॥ |
| ourajh rehiou sabh sang anoop roopaavathee || |
| The Incomparably Beautiful Lord is involved with all. |

| ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਤੁਹਾਰੀਆ ॥ |

| I cannot utter Your Praises with my mouth. |
|
| ਮੋਹੀ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀਆ ॥੧॥ |
| mohee dhaekh dharas naanak balihaareeaa ||1|| |
| Nanak is fascinated, gazing upon the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. I am a sacrifice to You. ||1|| |

| ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ਮਹਿ ਬੈਸਿ ਕਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਮੈ ਕਹਾਂ ॥ |
| santh sabhaa mehi bais k keerath mai kehaan || |
| Seated in the Society of the Saints, I chant the Lord's Praises. |
|
| ਅਰਪੀ ਸਭੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਏਹੁ ਜੀਉ ਸਭੁ ਦਿਵਾ ॥ |
| arapee sabh seegaar eaehu jeeo sabh dhivaa || |
| I dedicate all my adornments to Him, and give all this soul to Him. |
|
| ਆਸ ਪਿਆਸੀ ਸੇਜ ਸੁ ਕੰਤਿ ਵਿਛਾਈਐ ॥ |
| aas piaasee saej s kanth vishhaaeeai || |
| With hopeful yearning for Him, I have made the bed for my Husband. |
|
| ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਭਾਗੁ ਤ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੨॥ |
| harihaan masathak hovai bhaag th saajan paaeeai ||2|| |
| O Lord! If such good destiny is inscribed upon my forehead, then I shall find my Friend. ||2|| |
|
| ਸਖੀ ਕਾਜਲ ਹਾਰ ਤੰਬੋਲ ਸਭੈ ਕਿਛੁ ਸਾਜਿਆ ॥ |
| sakhee kaajal haar thanbol sabhai kishh saajiaa || |
| O my companion, I have prepared everything: make-up, garlands and betel-leaves. |
|
| ਸੋਲਹ ਕੀਏ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਕਿ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਪਾਜਿਆ ॥ |
| soleh keeeae seegaar k anjan paajiaa || |
| I have embellished myself with the sixteen decorations, and applied the mascara to my eyes. |
|
| ਜੇ ਘਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਕੰਤੁ ਤ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ |
| jae ghar aavai kanth th sabh kishh paaeeai || |
| If my Husband Lord comes to my home, then I obtain everything. |
|
| ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਕੰਤੈ ਬਾਝੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਸਭੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੩॥ |
| harihaan kanthai baajh seegaar sabh birathhaa jaaeeai ||3|| |
| O Lord! Without my Husband, all these adornments are useless. ||3|| |
|
| ਜਿਸੁ ਘਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਕੰਤੁ ਸਾ ਵਡਭਾਗਣੇ ॥ |
| jis ghar vasiaa kanth saa vaddabhaaganae || |
| Very fortunate is she, within whose home the Husband Lord abides. |
|
| ਤਿਸੁ ਬਣਿਆ ਹਭੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਸਾਈ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੇ ॥ |
| this baniaa habh seegaar saaee sohaaganae || |
| She is totally adorned and decorated; she is a happy soul-bride. |
|
| ਹਉ ਸੁਤੀ ਹੋਇ ਅਚਿੰਤ ਮਨਿ ਆਸ ਪੁਰਾਈਆ ॥ |
| ho suthee hoe achinth man aas puraaeeaa || |
| I sleep in peace, without anxiety; the hopes of my mind have been fulfilled. |
|
| ਆਸਾ ਇਤੀ ਆਸ ਕਿ ਆਸ ਪੁਰਾਈਐ ॥ |
| aasaa eithee aas k aas puraaeeai || |
| My hope is so intense, that this hope alone should fulfill my hopes. |
|
| ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲ ਤ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ |
| sathigur bheae dhaeiaal th pooraa paaeeai || |
| When the True Guru becomes merciful, then I attain the Perfect Lord. |
|
| ਮੈ ਤਨਿ ਅਵਗਣ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਕਿ ਅਵਗਣ ਛਾਇਆ ॥ |
| mai than avagan bahuth k avagan shhaaeiaa || |
| My body is filled with so many demerits; I am covered with faults and demerits. |
|
| ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲ ਤ ਮਨੁ ਠਹਰਾਇਆ ॥੫॥ |
| harihaan sathigur bheae dhaeiaal th man theharaaeiaa ||5|| |
| O Lord! When the True Guru becomes Merciful, then the mind is held in place. ||5|| |
|
| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਅੰਤੁ ਬੇਅੰਤੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ |
| kahu naanak baeanth baeanth dhhiaaeiaa || |
| Says Nanak, I have meditated on the Lord, Infinite and Endless. |
|
| ਦੁਤਰੁ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤਰਾਇਆ ॥ |
| dhuthar eihu sansaar sathiguroo tharaaeiaa || |
| This world-ocean is so difficult to cross; the True Guru has carried me across. |
|
| ਮਿਟਿਆ ਆਵਾ ਗਉਣੁ ਜਾਂ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| mittiaa aavaa goun jaan pooraa paaeiaa || |
| My comings and goings in reincarnation ended, when I met the Perfect Lord. |
|
| ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੬॥ |
| harihaan anmrith har kaa naam sathigur thae paaeiaa ||6|| |
| O Lord! I have obtained the Ambrosial Nectar of the Name of the Lord from the True Guru. ||6|| |
|
| ਮੇਰੈ ਹਾਥਿ ਪਦਮੁ ਆਗਨਿ ਸੁਖ ਬਾਸਨਾ ॥ |
| maerai haathh padham aagan sukh baasanaa || |
| The lotus is in my hand; in the courtyard of my heart I abide in peace. |
|
| ਸਖੀ ਮੋਰੈ ਕੰਠਿ ਰਤੰਨੁ ਪੇਖਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਨਾਸਨਾ ॥ |
| sakhee morai kanth rathann paekh dhukh naasanaa || |
| O my companion, the Jewel is around my neck; beholding it, sorrow is taken away. |
|
| ਬਾਸਉ ਸੰਗਿ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਸਗਲ ਸੁਖ ਰਾਸਿ ਹਰਿ ॥ |
| baaso sang gupaal sagal sukh raas har || |
| I abide with the Lord of the World, the Treasury of Total Peace. O Lord! |
|
| ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਬਸਹਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਦਾ ਕਰਿ ॥੭॥ |
| harihaan ridhh sidhh nav nidhh basehi jis sadhaa kar ||7|| |
| All wealth, spiritual perfection and the nine treasures are in His Hand. ||7|| |
|
| ਪਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਅ ਰਾਵਣਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਸੇਈ ਤਾ ਲਾਜੀਅਹਿ ॥ |
| par thria raavan jaahi saeee thaa laajeeahi || |
| Those men who go out to enjoy other men's women shall suffer in shame. |
|
| ਨਿਤਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਹਿਰਹਿ ਪਰ ਦਰਬੁ ਛਿਦ੍ਰ ਕਤ ਢਾਕੀਅਹਿ ॥ |
| nithaprath hirehi par dharab shhidhr kath dtaakeeahi || |
| Those who steal the wealth of others - how can their guilt be concealed? |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਮਤ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਗਲ ਕੁਲ ਤਾਰਈ ॥ |
| har gun ramath pavithr sagal kul thaaree || |
| Those who chant the Sacred Praises of the Lord save and redeem all their generations. |
|
| ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਸੁਨਤੇ ਭਏ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਈ ॥੮॥ |
| harihaan sunathae bheae puneeth paarabreham beechaaree ||8|| |
| O Lord! Those who listen and contemplate the Supreme Lord God become pure and holy. ||8|| |
|
| ਊਪਰਿ ਬਨੈ ਅਕਾਸੁ ਤਲੈ ਧਰ ਸੋਹਤੀ ॥ |
| oopar banai akaas thalai dhhar sohathee || |
| The sky above looks lovely, and the earth below is beautiful. |
|
| ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਚਮਕੈ ਬੀਜੁਲਿ ਮੁਖ ਕਉ ਜੋਹਤੀ ॥ |
| dheh dhis chamakai beejul mukh ko johathee || |
| Lightning flashes in the ten directions; I behold the Face of my Beloved. |
