| Then comes Hindol with his five wives and eight sons; |

| ਉਠਹਿ ਤਾਨ ਕਲੋਲ ਗਾਇਨ ਤਾਰ ਮਿਲਾਵਹੀ ॥੧॥ |
| outhehi thaan kalol gaaein thaar milaavehee ||1|| |
| it rises in waves when the sweet-voiced chorus sings. ||1|| |

| ਤੇਲੰਗੀ ਦੇਵਕਰੀ ਆਈ ॥ |

| There come Taylangee and Darvakaree; |

| ਬਸੰਤੀ ਸੰਦੂਰ ਸੁਹਾਈ ॥ |
| basanthee sandhoor suhaaee || |
| Basantee and Sandoor follow; |

| ਸਰਸ ਅਹੀਰੀ ਲੈ ਭਾਰਜਾ ॥ |
| saras aheeree lai bhaarajaa || |
| then Aheeree, the finest of women. |

| ਸੰਗਿ ਲਾਈ ਪਾਂਚਉ ਆਰਜਾ ॥ |

| These five wives come together. |

| The sons: Surmaanand and Bhaaskar come, |

| ਸੋਰਠਿ ਗੋਂਡ ਮਲਾਰੀ ਧੁਨੀ ॥ |

| Sorat'h, Gond, and the melody of Malaaree; |

| ਪੁਨਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਆਸਾ ਗੁਨ ਗੁਨੀ ॥ |

| then the harmonies of Aasaa are sung. |

| ਊਚੈ ਸੁਰਿ ਸੂਹਉ ਪੁਨਿ ਕੀਨੀ ॥ |

| And finally comes the high tone Soohau. |

| ਜਬਲੀਧਰ ਨਟ ਅਉ ਜਲਧਾਰਾ ॥ |
| jabaleedhhar natt ao jaladhhaaraa || |
| Jabaleedhar, Nat and Jaladhaaraa. |

| ਪੁਨਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਸੰਕਰ ਅਉ ਸਿਆਮਾ ॥ |

| So all together, they sing the six Raagas and the thirty Raaginis, |

| ਗਾਵੈ ਕੋ ਜਾਪੈ ਦਿਸੈ ਦੂਰਿ ॥ |
| gaavai ko jaapai dhisai dhoor || |
| Some sing that He seems so very far away. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਭਗਤਾ ਸਦਾ ਵਿਗਾਸੁ ॥ |
| naanak bhagathaa sadhaa vigaas || |
| O Nanak, the devotees are forever in bliss. |

| ਅਸੰਖ ਜੋਗ ਮਨਿ ਰਹਹਿ ਉਦਾਸ ॥ |

| Countless Yogis, whose minds remain detached from the world. |

| ਕਿਵ ਕਰਿ ਆਖਾ ਕਿਵ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਕਿਉ ਵਰਨੀ ਕਿਵ ਜਾਣਾ ॥ |
| kiv kar aakhaa kiv saalaahee kio varanee kiv jaanaa || |
| How can we speak of Him? How can we praise Him? How can we describe Him? How can we know Him? |

| ਆਖਹਿ ਬਰਮੇ ਆਖਹਿ ਇੰਦ ॥ |
| aakhehi baramae aakhehi eindh || |
| Brahma speaks, Indra speaks. |

| ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ਵਿਜੋਗੁ ਦੁਇ ਕਾਰ ਚਲਾਵਹਿ ਲੇਖੇ ਆਵਹਿ ਭਾਗ ॥ |
| sanjog vijog dhue kaar chalaavehi laekhae aavehi bhaag || |
| Union with Him, and separation from Him, come by His Will. We come to receive what is written in our destiny. |
