| ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਾਰੇ ਤਿਨ ਜਾਇ ਮਿਲਹਿ ਰਹਦੀ ਖੁਹਦੀ ਸਭ ਪਤਿ ਗਵਾਹੀ ॥ |
| jo sathigur maarae thin jaae milehi rehadhee khuhadhee sabh path gavaahee || |
| Those who go out to meet with those who have been cursed by the True Guru, lose all remnants of their honor. |

| ਇਕੁ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਇਕੁ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਇਕੋ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਸਰੋਤਿ ॥ |
| eik dhaekhiaa eik manniaa eiko suniaa sravan saroth || |
| He sees the One, he believes in the One, and with his ears, he listens only to the One. |

| ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹ ਸਚੁ ਸਚੁ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥ |
| saalaahee sach salaah sach sach keemath kinai n paaee || |
| I praise the True Lord, and the Praises of the True Lord. His worth cannot be estimated. |

| ਕੋਈ ਵਿਛੁੜਿ ਜਾਇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸਹੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਾਲਾ ਮੁਹੁ ਜਮਿ ਮਾਰਿਆ ॥ |
| koee vishhurr jaae sathiguroo paasahu this kaalaa muhu jam maariaa || |
| If someone separates himself from the True Guru, his face is blackened, and he is destroyed by the Messenger of Death. |

| ਕਿਆ ਸਵਣਾ ਕਿਆ ਜਾਗਣਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥ |
| kiaa savanaa kiaa jaaganaa guramukh thae paravaan || |
| Who is asleep, and who is awake? Those who are Gurmukh are approved. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਵਜਦਾ ਜੰਤੁ ਵਜਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ |
| naanak vajadhaa janth vajaaeiaa ||2|| |
| O Nanak, human beings are the instruments which vibrate as God plays them. ||2|| |

| ਕੂੜਿਆਰ ਕੂੜਿਆਰੀ ਜਾਇ ਰਲੇ ਸਚਿਆਰ ਸਿਖ ਬੈਠੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੨੬॥ |
| koorriaar koorriaaree jaae ralae sachiaar sikh baithae sathigur paas ||26|| |
| The false go and mingle with the false, while the truthful Sikhs sit by the side of the True Guru. ||26|| |

| ਅੰਦਰਿ ਬਹੈ ਤਪਾ ਪਾਪ ਕਮਾਏ ॥ |
| andhar behai thapaa paap kamaaeae || |
| but when he sits within the congregation, the penitent commits sin. |

| ਓਇ ਵੇਚਾਰੇ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਜਾਂ ਭਾਗ ਧੁਰਿ ਮੰਦੇ ॥ |
| oue vaechaarae kiaa karehi jaan bhaag dhhur mandhae || |
| What can those wretched ones do? Their evil destiny was pre-ordained. |

| ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਰਖੁ ਤੂੰ ਸਚਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਆਸ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡ ਵਡੇ ॥੩੩॥੧॥ ਸੁਧੁ ॥ |
| jio bhaavai thio rakh thoon sachiaa naanak man aas thaeree vadd vaddae ||33||1|| sudhh || |

| How can he escape from falling into hell, when he does not remember the Prophet? ||2|| |

| I have come to see the Supreme Lord God, the Perfect, Inaccessible, Wonderful Lord. |

| They cross over the world-ocean, and conquer the fortress of corruption. |

| ਮੰਦਭਾਗੀ ਤੇਰੋ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੩॥ |
| mandhabhaagee thaero dharasan naahi ||3|| |
| I am so unfortunate - I cannot see the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan! ||3|| |

| - her Husband Lord turns all others away, and meets with her. ||3||21|| |

| ਮਨ ਕਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਮਨਹਿ ਬਿਆਪੀ ॥ |
| man kaa subhaao manehi biaapee || |
| The natural tendency of the mind is to chase the mind. |

| ਕੈਸੇ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥ |
| kaisae jeevan hoe hamaaraa || |
| How have I passed my life? |

| ਜਾ ਕੇ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੫॥੩੮॥ |

| in whose heart there is none other than the Lord. ||5||38|| |

| ਤਿਸਨਾ ਛਾਨਿ ਪਰੀ ਧਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਭਾਂਡਾ ਫੂਟਾ ॥੧॥ |
| thisanaa shhaan paree dhhar oopar dhuramath bhaanddaa foottaa ||1|| |
| The thatched roof of greed has caved in, and the pitcher of evil-mindedness has been broken. ||1|| |

| ਤਿਨਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਾਣੈ ਧਨਖੁ ਚਢਾਈਐ ਇਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਭਾਈ ॥ |
| thin bin baanai dhhanakh chadtaaeeai eihu jag baedhhiaa bhaaee || |
| Maya has drawn her bow without an arrow, and has pierced this world, O Siblings of Destiny. |

| ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥ |
| saahib hoe dhaeiaal kirapaa karae apunaa kaaraj savaarae || |
| When the Lord and Master is kind and grants His Grace, then her affairs are all resolved. |

| ਮਨੁ ਪਵਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਤੂੰਬਾ ਕਰੀ ਹੈ ਜੁਗ ਜੁਗ ਸਾਰਦ ਸਾਜੀ ॥ |
| man pavan dhue thoonbaa karee hai jug jug saaradh saajee || |
| My mind and breath are the two gourds of my fiddle, and the Lord of all the ages is its frame. |

| ਕਾਮ ਸੁਆਇ ਗਜ ਬਸਿ ਪਰੇ ਮਨ ਬਉਰਾ ਰੇ ਅੰਕਸੁ ਸਹਿਓ ਸੀਸ ॥੧॥ |
| kaam suaae gaj bas parae man bouraa rae ankas sehiou sees ||1|| |
| Attracted by the lure of sexual desire, the elephant is captured, O crazy mind, and now the halter is placed around its neck. ||1|| |

| ਇਸ ਮਾਟੀ ਮਹਿ ਪਵਨੁ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥ |
| eis maattee mehi pavan samaaeiaa || |
| Into this clay, the breath is infused. |
 |
| ਪੰਥੁ ਨਿਹਾਰੈ ਕਾਮਨੀ ਲੋਚਨ ਭਰੀ ਲੇ ਉਸਾਸਾ ॥ |
| panthh nihaarai kaamanee lochan bharee lae ousaasaa || |
| The bride gazes at the path, and sighs with tearful eyes. |

| ਧਰਨਿ ਅਕਾਸੁ ਦਸੋ ਦਿਸ ਨਾਹੀ ਤਬ ਇਹੁ ਨੰਦੁ ਕਹਾ ਥੋ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| dhharan akaas dhaso dhis naahee thab eihu nandh kehaa thho rae ||1|| rehaao || |
| When there was no earth or ether or the ten directions, where was this Nand then? ||1||Pause|| |

| ਕਾਟਿ ਸਕਤਿ ਸਿਵ ਸਹਜੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਿਓ ਏਕੈ ਏਕ ਸਮਾਨਾਨਾ ॥ |
| kaatt sakath siv sehaj pragaasiou eaekai eaek samaanaanaa || |
| I have broken the bonds of Maya; the intuitive peace and poise of Shiva has dawned within me, and I am merged in oneness with the One. |

| ਤਬ ਜਾਇ ਜੋਤਿ ਉਜਾਰਉ ਲਹੈ ॥੧੪॥ |
| thab jaae joth oujaaro lehai ||14|| |
| then he finds the Divine Light. ||14|| |

| ਬੰਦਉ ਹੋਇ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਗਹੈ ॥ |
| bandho hoe bandhagee gehai || |
| Become the Lord's slave, and hold tight to His meditation. |
 |
| ਜਹ ਕਾ ਬਿਛੁਰਾ ਤਹ ਥਿਰੁ ਲਹੈ ॥੪੪॥ |
| jeh kaa bishhuraa theh thhir lehai ||44|| |
| he shall find his permanent home, from which he was separated. ||44|| |

| ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਸਭ ਬੀਸਰਿ ਜਾਹੁ ॥ |
| lobh moh sabh beesar jaahu || |
| Forget all your greed and emotional attachment; |
 |
| ਤਬ ਹੂਆ ਸਗਲ ਕਰਮ ਕਾ ਨਾਸੁ ॥੭॥ |
| thab hooaa sagal karam kaa naas ||7|| |
| All your karma will be erased. ||7|| |

| ਕੋ ਬਨਜਾਰੋ ਰਾਮ ਕੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਟਾਂਡਾ ਲਾਦਿਆ ਜਾਇ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| ko banajaaro raam ko maeraa ttaanddaa laadhiaa jaae rae ||1|| rehaao || |
| Is there any merchant of the Lord to join me? My cargo is loaded, and now I am leaving. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਊਪਜੈ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਉਦਾਸ ॥੮॥੧॥ |
| praem bhagath nehee oopajai thaa thae ravidhaas oudhaas ||8||1|| |
| Love and devotion have not welled up within me, and so Ravi Daas is sad and depressed. ||8||1|| |

| ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਕਰਸੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਕਰਣਾ ਜਾਈ ॥ |
| jo this bhaavai soee karasee fir hukam n karanaa jaaee || |
| Whatever pleases Him, that is what He does. No one can issue any commands to Him. |

| ਕੇਵਡੁ ਵਡਾ ਡੀਠਾ ਹੋਈ ॥ |
| kaevadd vaddaa ddeethaa hoee || |
| but only one who has seen You, knows just how Great You are. |
 |
| ਤਾਮਿ ਪਰੀਤਿ ਵਸੈ ਘਰਿ ਆਇ ॥ |
| thaam pareeth vasai ghar aae || |
| out of love for bread, he comes to dwell in his home. |
 |
| ਰਤਨ ਉਪਾਇ ਧਰੇ ਖੀਰੁ ਮਥਿਆ ਹੋਰਿ ਭਖਲਾਏ ਜਿ ਅਸੀ ਕੀਆ ॥ |
| rathan oupaae dhharae kheer mathhiaa hor bhakhalaaeae j asee keeaa || |
| The jewels were produced and brought forth by churning the ocean of milk. The other gods proclaimed ""We are the ones who did this!"" |

| ਸਚ ਪਉੜੀ ਸਾਚਉ ਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਂਉ ॥ |
| sach pourree saacho mukh naano || |
| To chant the True Name with one's mouth is the true ladder. |
 |
| ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਅਪਨੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥ |
| har jeeo raakhahu apanee saranaaee || |
| O Lord, please keep me in the Protection of Your Sanctuary. |

| ਕਿਸੈ ਪੜਾਵਹਿ ਪੜਿ ਗੁਣਿ ਬੂਝੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੰਤੋਖਿ ਰਹੇ ॥੧॥ |
| kisai parraavehi parr gun boojhae sathigur sabadh santhokh rehae ||1|| |
| Who do they teach? Through study, they come to realize the Lord's Glorious Virtues. Through the Shabad, the Word of the True Guru, they come to dwell in contentment. ||1|| |

| ਮਤਿ ਵਿਚਿ ਮਰਣੁ ਜੀਵਣੁ ਹੋਰੁ ਕੈਸਾ ਜਾ ਜੀਵਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ |
| math vich maran jeevan hor kaisaa jaa jeevaa thaan jugath naahee || |
| To die in the Teachings is to live. Otherwise, what is life? That is not the way. |

| ਸਖੀ ਸਾਜਨੀ ਕੇ ਹਉ ਚਰਨ ਸਰੇਵਉ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਨਦਰਿ ਧਰੀ ॥੨॥ |
| sakhee saajanee kae ho charan saraevo har gur kirapaa thae nadhar dhharee ||2|| |
| I serve at the feet of my companions and friends; the Lord has showered me with His Mercy, through Guru's Grace. ||2|| |

| ਸਹੁ ਜਾਗੈ ਹਉ ਨਿਸ ਭਰਿ ਸੋਵਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| sahu jaagai ho nis bhar sovaa ||1|| rehaao || |
| My Husband Lord remains awake, while I sleep through the entire night of my life. ||1||Pause|| |
