| ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਸੇਵ ਕਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣਾਏ ॥ |
| nith nith saev karee har jan kee jo har har kathhaa sunaaeae || |
| Constantly and continuously, I serve the Lord's humble servant, who recites to me the sermon of the Lord, Har, Har. |

| dhaasan dhaasaa hoe rehehi thaa paavehi sachaa naao ||1|| rehaao || |
| If you become the slave of the Lord's slaves, you shall obtain the True Name. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਜਬ ਸਾਚ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਸਾਚਾ ਤਾਮਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ |
| jab saach andhar hoe saachaa thaam saachaa paaeeai || |
| When there is Truth within the heart, then one becomes True, and obtains the True Lord. |

| ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਸਾਚੇ ਨਾਵੈ ॥ |

| I am a sacrifice to the True Name. |

| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਿਨੀ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਮੁਈਏ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| guramukh jinee raaviaa mueeeae pir rav rehiaa bharapoorae raam || |
| One who, as Gurmukh, enjoys her Husband Lord, O mortal bride, knows Him to be all-pervading everywhere. |

| ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਾਗਿ ਮਤਿ ਉਪਜੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੋਹਾਗੋ ॥ |
| saachai sabadh laag math oupajai guramukh naam sohaago || |
| Attached to the True Word of the Shabad, wisdom comes forth. The Gurmukh obtains the Naam, the Name of the Husband Lord. |

| ਲਾਹਾ ਲਾਭੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਹੈ ਗੁਣ ਮਹਿ ਗੁਣੀ ਸਮਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| laahaa laabh har bhagath hai gun mehi gunee samaaee raam || |
| The profit of profits is the devotional worship of the Lord; one's virtues merge into the virtues of the Lord. |

| ਪੰਡਿਤ ਜੋਤਕੀ ਸਭਿ ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਕੂਕਦੇ ਕਿਸੁ ਪਹਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਪੁਕਾਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| panddith jothakee sabh parr parr kookadhae kis pehi karehi pukaaraa raam || |
| All the religious scholars and astrologers read and study, and argue and shout. Who are they trying to teach? |

| ਦਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥ |
| dhar saachai sadhaa hai saachaa saachai sabadh subhaakhiaa || |
| In the True Court, he is forever True; with love, he chants the True Word of the Shabad. |

| ਜਿਸੁ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਹੰਉ ਢੂੰਢਿ ਢੂਢੇਦੀ ਸੋ ਸਜਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| jis kaaran hano dtoondt dtoodtaedhee so sajan har ghar paaeiaa || |
| I was seeking and searching for Him, the Lord, my best friend, and I have found Him within the home of my own being. |

| My True Guru, my True Guru is my Beloved; without the Guru, I cannot live. ||2|| |

| Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is pleasing to my mind. ||3|| |

| ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਗੀਆ ਰਾਮ ॥ |

| From the Guru, I ask for the Lord's spiritual wisdom. |

| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਭਾਣਾ ਸਚਾ ਮਾਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਸਹਜੇ ਦੀਤਾ ॥ |
| prabh jee bhaanaa sachaa maanaa prabh har dhhan sehajae dheethaa || |
| One who is pleasing to God receives true honor. The Lord God blesses him with wealth. |

| ਮੋਹ ਰਹਤ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਥਾਕੇ ਪੰਚ ਤੇ ਸੰਗੁ ਤੂਟਾ ॥ |
| moh rehath bikaar thhaakae panch thae sang thoottaa || |
| They are rid of emotional attachment, their sins are erased, and their association with the five passions is broken off. |

| ਮੁਹਲਤਿ ਪੁਨੀ ਪਾਈ ਭਰੀ ਜਾਨੀਅੜਾ ਘਤਿ ਚਲਾਇਆ ॥ |
| muhalath punee paaee bharee jaaneearraa ghath chalaaeiaa || |
| When one's time is up, and the measure is full, this dear soul is caught, and driven off. |
|
| ਮਰਣੁ ਮੁਣਸਾ ਸੂਰਿਆ ਹਕੁ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਹੋਇ ਮਰਨਿ ਪਰਵਾਣੋ ॥ |
| maran munasaa sooriaa hak hai jo hoe maran paravaano || |
| The death of brave heroes is blessed, if it is approved by God. |
|
| ਤੁਸੀ ਰੋਵਹੁ ਰੋਵਣ ਆਈਹੋ ਝੂਠਿ ਮੁਠੀ ਸੰਸਾਰੇ ॥ |
| thusee rovahu rovan aaeeho jhooth muthee sansaarae || |
| So cry out in mourning, you who have come to mourn; this world is false and fraudulent. |

| ਲਬਿ ਧੰਧੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਜਗਤੁ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਕਾਲੁ ਖੜਾ ਰੂਆਏ ॥੧॥ |
| lab dhhandhhai maaeiaa jagath bhulaaeiaa kaal kharraa rooaaeae ||1|| |
| Greed, worldly entanglements and Maya deceive the world. Death hovers over its head, and causes it to weep. ||1|| |
|
| ਜਿਨੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੰਤੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਪੂਛਉ ਸੰਤਾ ਜਾਏ ॥ |
| jinee aapanaa kanth pashhaaniaa ho thin pooshho santhaa jaaeae || |
| Those who have realized their Husband Lord - I go and ask those Saints about Him. |

| ਇਹੁ ਤਨੁ ਰੁਲੈ ਰੁਲਾਇਆ ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਆਇਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਖਸਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਤਾ ਹਦੂਰੇ ॥ |
| eihu than rulai rulaaeiaa kaam n aaeiaa jin khasam n jaathaa hadhoorae || |
| This body rolls in the dust, and is totally useless; it does not realize the Presence of the Lord and Master. |
|
| ਕਾਇਆ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਤਾਂ ਥੀਐ ਜਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥ |
| kaaeiaa kanchan thaan thheeai jaan sathigur leae milaaeae || |
| The body becomes like gold, when the True Guru unites one with Himself. |

| ਸਭਿ ਆਖਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੀਆ ॥੧॥ |
| sabh aakhahu sathigur vaahu vaahu jin dhaan har naam mukh dheeaa ||1|| |
| Everyone proclaims, ""Waaho! Waaho! Blessed, blessed is the True Guru, who has given the supreme gift of the Name of the Lord. ||1|| |

| ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਭੁਖ ਗਈ ਭੇਖੀ ਭੁਖ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| sathigur miliai bhukh gee bhaekhee bhukh n jaae || |
| Meeting with the True Guru, hunger departs; by wearing the robes of a beggar, hunger does not depart. |

| ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣਾਈ ॥ |
| this gur ko ho vaariaa jin har kee har kathhaa sunaaee || |
| I am a sacrifice to the Guru, who recites the sermon of the Lord's Teachings. |

| ਤਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਵਡ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਅਵਗਣ ਕਟਿ ਗੁਣੀ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ॥ |
| this sathigur ko vadd punn hai jin avagan katt gunee samajhaaeiaa || |
| Glorious and great are the virtues of the Guru, who has eradicated evil, and instructed me in virtue. |

| ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਫਿਕਾ ਬੋਲਣਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵਸੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ |
| bin sathigur saevae fikaa bolanaa naam n vasai man maahi || |
| Without serving the True Guru, one's speech is vapid and insipid; the Naam, the Name of the Lord, does not abide in his mind. |

| ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਵੈ ਕੋ ਮਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ਡਿਠਾ ਹਰਿ ਜੰਨੀ ॥ |
| bin har naavai ko mithra naahee veechaar ddithaa har jannee || |
| There is no friend, other than the Name of the Lord; the Lord's humble servants reflect upon this and see. |

| ਇਸੁ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਹੋਰ ਸਗਲੀ ਨਾਰਿ ਸਬਾਈ ॥ |
| eis jag mehi purakh eaek hai hor sagalee naar sabaaee || |
| In this world, there is one Husband Lord; all other beings are His brides. |

| ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਨਿ ਜਾਗੰਨਿ ਸੇ ਜੋ ਰਤੇ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਗੁਣਤਾਸਿ ॥ |
| sathigur saevan jaagann sae jo rathae sach naam gunathaas || |
| Those who serve the True Guru and remain wakeful, are imbued with the True Name, the treasure of virtue. |

| Let your service be the focusing of your consciousness, and let your occupation be the placing of faith in the Naam. |

| ਤੂ ਪੂਰਾ ਹਮ ਊਰੇ ਹੋਛੇ ਤੂ ਗਉਰਾ ਹਮ ਹਉਰੇ ॥ |
| thoo pooraa ham oorae hoshhae thoo gouraa ham hourae || |
| You are perfect, while I am worthless and imperfect. You are profound, while I am trivial. |

| ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਅਜੋਨੀ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਹੋਨੀ ਘਟ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਦੇਖੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ |
| so breham ajonee hai bhee honee ghatt bheethar dhaekh muraaree jeeo ||2|| |
| He is the unborn Lord God; He is, and shall ever be. Deep within your heart, behold Him, the Destroyer of ego. ||2|| |

| ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਸਰੇਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਭੁਗਤਾ ਸੋਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| ahinis gur kae charan saraevahu har dhaathaa bhugathaa soee || rehaao || |
| Day and night, serve at the Guru's feet; the Lord is the Giver, and the Enjoyer. ||Pause|| |

| ਇਹੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਧਾਵਦਾ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਖੁਆਇਆ ॥ |
| eihu manooaa dheh dhis dhhaavadhaa dhoojai bhaae khuaaeiaa || |
| This mind wanders in the ten directions; it is consumed by the love of duality. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤਾ ਇਕ ਰੰਗੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੩॥ |

| O Nanak, imbued with the Naam, and the Love of the One Lord, he is embellished with the Word of the Shabad. ||4||3|| |

| Chanting the Name of the Lord, it seems so sweet to the mind, O Siblings of Destiny; the Gurmukhs obtain a place in the Court of the Lord. ||Pause|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟਣਹਾਰਾ ॥੨॥ |
| har ras chaakh man niramal hoaa kilabikh kaattanehaaraa ||2|| |
| I have tasted the sublime essence of the Lord, and my soul has become immaculately pure; the Lord is the Destroyer of sins. ||2|| |

| ਆਪੇ ਸੂਤੁ ਆਪੇ ਬਹੁ ਮਣੀਆ ਕਰਿ ਸਕਤੀ ਜਗਤੁ ਪਰੋਇ ॥ |
| aapae sooth aapae bahu maneeaa kar sakathee jagath paroe || |
| He Himself is the thread, and He Himself is the many beads; through His Almighty Power, He has strung the worlds. |

| ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਭਉ ਪਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਬੰਨਿ ਬਕਰੀ ਸੀਹੁ ਹਢਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ |
| aapae hee bho paaeidhaa piaaraa bann bakaree seehu hadtaaeiaa ||2|| |
| The Beloved Himself instills the Fear of God; He binds the tiger and the goat together. ||2|| |

| ਸਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਜਗਤੁ ਉਪਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਵਸਿ ਆਪੇ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਹਥਾਹਾ ॥ |
| sabh aapae jagath oupaaeidhaa piaaraa vas aapae jugath hathhaahaa || |
| The Beloved Himself created the whole world. In His hands He holds the power of the ages. |

| ਜਿਨਿ ਇਹ ਚਾਖੀ ਸੋਈ ਜਾਣੈ ਗੂੰਗੇ ਕੀ ਮਿਠਿਆਈ ॥ |
| jin eih chaakhee soee jaanai goongae kee mithiaaee || |
| Only one who tastes it knows it, like the mute, who tastes the sweet candy, but cannot speak of it. |
