| niragun kathhaa kathhaa hai har kee || |
| The Speech of the Lord is the most sublime speech, free of any attributes. |
|
| ਭਜੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਜਨ ਕੀ ॥ |
| bhaj mil saadhhoo sangath jan kee || |
| Vibrate on it, meditate on it, and join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. |

| ਤਰੁ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ॥੧॥ |
| thar bhoujal akathh kathhaa sun har kee ||1|| |
| Cross over the terrifying world-ocean, listening to the Unspoken Speech of the Lord. ||1|| |

| ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੇਲਾਇ ॥ |
| gobindh sathasangath maelaae || |
| O Lord of the Universe, unite me with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| har ras rasanaa raam gun gaae ||1|| rehaao || |
| My tongue savors the sublime essence of the Lord, singing the Lord's Glorious Praises. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਜੋ ਜਨ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥ |
| jo jan dhhiaavehi har har naamaa || |
| Those humble beings who meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har |
|
| ਤਿਨ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸ ਕਰਹੁ ਹਮ ਰਾਮਾ ॥ |
| thin dhaasan dhaas karahu ham raamaa || |
| please make me the slave of their slaves, Lord. |
|
| ਜਨ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਊਤਮ ਕਾਮਾ ॥੨॥ |
| jan kee saevaa ootham kaamaa ||2|| |
| Serving Your slaves is the ultimate good deed. ||2|| |
|
| ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣਾਵੈ ॥ |
| jo har kee har kathhaa sunaavai || |
| One who chants the Speech of the Lord |
|
| ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਹਮਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥ |
| so jan hamarai man chith bhaavai || |
| that humble servant is pleasing to my conscious mind. |
|
| ਜਨ ਪਗ ਰੇਣੁ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੩॥ |
| jan pag raen vaddabhaagee paavai ||3|| |
| Those who are blessed with great good fortune obtain the dust of the feet of the humble. ||3|| |
|
| ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਲਿਖਤੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਪਾਈ ॥ |
| santh janaa sio preeth ban aaee || jin ko likhath likhiaa dhhur paaee || |
| Those who are blessed with such pre-ordained destiny are in love with the humble Saints. |

| ਤੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੪॥੨॥੪੦॥ |
| thae jan naanak naam samaaee ||4||2||40|| |
| Those humble beings, O Nanak, are absorbed in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||2||40|| |

| maathaa preeth karae puth khaae || |
| The mother loves to see her son eat. |
|
| ਮੀਨੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਭਈ ਜਲਿ ਨਾਇ ॥ |
| meenae preeth bhee jal naae || |
| The fish loves to bathe in the water. |
|
| ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ |
| sathigur preeth gurasikh mukh paae ||1|| |
| The True Guru loves to place food in the mouth of His GurSikh. ||1|| |
|
| ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਹਮ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥ |
| thae har jan har maelahu ham piaarae || |
| If only I could meet those humble servants of the Lord, O my Beloved. |
|
| ਜਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਦੁਖ ਜਾਹਿ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| jin miliaa dhukh jaahi hamaarae ||1|| rehaao || |
| Meeting with them, my sorrows depart. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਜਿਉ ਮਿਲਿ ਬਛਰੇ ਗਊ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗਾਵੈ ॥ |
| jio mil bashharae goo preeth lagaavai || |
| As the cow shows her love to her strayed calf when she finds it, |
|
| ਕਾਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਜਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਘਰਿ ਆਵੈ ॥ |
| kaaman preeth jaa pir ghar aavai || |
| and as the bride shows her love for her husband when he returns home, |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੨॥ |
| har jan preeth jaa har jas gaavai ||2|| |
| so does the Lord's humble servant love to sing the Praises of the Lord. ||2|| |

| ਸਾਰਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬਸੈ ਜਲ ਧਾਰਾ ॥ |
| saaring preeth basai jal dhhaaraa || |
| The rainbird loves the rainwater, falling in torrents; |
|
| ਨਰਪਤਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇਖਿ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥ |
| narapath preeth maaeiaa dhaekh pasaaraa || |
| the king loves to see his wealth on display. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਜਪੈ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰਾ ॥੩॥ |
| har jan preeth japai nirankaaraa ||3|| |
| The humble servant of the Lord loves to meditate on the Formless Lord. ||3|| |

| ਨਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਧਨੁ ਖਾਟੇ ॥ |
| nar praanee preeth maaeiaa dhhan khaattae || |
| The mortal man loves to accumulate wealth and property. |
|
| ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਗਲਾਟੇ ॥ |
| gurasikh preeth gur milai galaattae || |
| The GurSikh loves to meet and embrace the Guru. |
|
| ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਪਗ ਚਾਟੇ ॥੪॥੩॥੪੧॥ |

| bheekhak preeth bheekh prabh paae || |
| The beggar loves to receive charity from the wealthy landlord. |
|
| ਭੂਖੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਅੰਨੁ ਖਾਇ ॥ |
| bhookhae preeth hovai ann khaae || |
| The hungry person loves to eat food. |
|
| ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਆਘਾਇ ॥੧॥ |
| gurasikh preeth gur mil aaghaae ||1|| |
| The GurSikh loves to find satisfaction by meeting the Guru. ||1|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਆਸ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥ |
| har dharasan dhaehu har aas thumaaree || |
| O Lord, grant me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan; I place my hopes in You, Lord. |

| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਲੋਚ ਪੂਰਿ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| kar kirapaa loch poor hamaaree ||1|| rehaao || |
| Shower me with Your Mercy, and fulfill my longing. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਚਕਵੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸੂਰਜੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਗੈ ॥ |
| chakavee preeth sooraj mukh laagai || |
| The song-bird loves the sun shining in her face. |
|
| ਮਿਲੈ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਭ ਦੁਖ ਤਿਆਗੈ ॥ |
| milai piaarae sabh dhukh thiaagai || |
| Meeting her Beloved, all her pains are left behind. |
|
| ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਗੈ ॥੨॥ |

| The GurSikh loves to gaze upon the Face of the Guru. ||2|| |

| ਬਛਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਖੀਰੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਖਾਇ ॥ |
| bashharae preeth kheer mukh khaae || |
| The calf loves to suck its mother's milk; |
|
| ਹਿਰਦੈ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਦੇਖੈ ਮਾਇ ॥ |
| hiradhai bigasai dhaekhai maae || |
| its heart blossoms forth upon seeing its mother. |
|
| ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਇ ॥੩॥ |
| gurasikh preeth guroo mukh laae ||3|| |
| The GurSikh loves to gaze upon the Face of the Guru. ||3|| |
|
| ਹੋਰੁ ਸਭ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਕਾਚਾ ॥ |
| hor sabh preeth maaeiaa mohu kaachaa || |
| All other loves and emotional attachment to Maya are false. |
|
| ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਇ ਕੂਰਾ ਕਚੁ ਪਾਚਾ ॥ |
| binas jaae kooraa kach paachaa || |
| They shall pass away, like false and transitory decorations. |
|

| ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਫਲ ਹੈ ਬਣੀ ॥ |
| sathigur saevaa safal hai banee || |
| Service to the True Guru is fruitful and rewarding; |
|
| ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਧਣੀ ॥ |
| jith mil har naam dhhiaaeiaa har dhhanee || |
| meeting Him, I meditate on the Name of the Lord, the Lord Master. |
|
| ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਪੀਛੈ ਛੂਟੀ ਘਣੀ ॥੧॥ |
| jin har japiaa thin peeshhai shhoottee ghanee ||1|| |
| So many are emancipated along with those who meditate on the Lord. ||1|| |

| ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥ |

| O GurSikhs, chant the Name of the Lord, O my Siblings of Destiny. |

| har bolath sabh paap lehi jaaee ||1|| rehaao || |
| Chanting the Lord's Name, all sins are washed away. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਜਬ ਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਤਬ ਮਨੁ ਵਸਿ ਆਇਆ ॥ |
| jab gur miliaa thab man vas aaeiaa || |
| When one meets the Guru, then the mind becomes centered. |
