| Through the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, you obtained this human life. |

| ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਭਜੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ॥ |
| kar saevaa bhaj har har guramath || |
| Do seva - selfless service; follow the Guru's Teachings, and vibrate the Lord's Name, Har, Har. |

| ਤਿਆਗਿ ਮਾਨੁ ਝੂਠੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥ |
| thiaag maan jhooth abhimaan || |
| Abandon pride, falsehood and arrogance. |
|
| ਜੀਵਤ ਮਰਹਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥੩॥ |
| jeevath marehi dharageh paravaan ||3|| |
| Remain dead while yet alive, and you shall be welcomed in the Court of the Lord. ||3|| |
|
| ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਆ ਸੁ ਤੁਝ ਤੇ ਹੋਗੁ ॥ |
| jo kishh hoaa s thujh thae hog || |
| Whatever has been, and whatever shall be, comes from You, Lord. |
|
| ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਕਰਣੈ ਜੋਗੁ ॥ |
| avar n dhoojaa karanai jog || |
| No one else can do anything at all. |
|
| ਤਾ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਜਾ ਲੈਹਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥ |
| thaa mileeai jaa laihi milaae || |
| We are united with You, when You unite us with Yourself. |

| In the field of karma, plant the seed of the Naam. |

| ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਇ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ਕਾਮੁ ॥ |
| pooran hoe thumaaraa kaam || |
| Your works shall be brought to fruition. |
|
| ਫਲ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਿਟੈ ਜਮ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ॥ |
| fal paavehi mittai jam thraas || |
| You shall obtain these fruits, and the fear of death shall be dispelled. |

| ਨਿਤ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਜਾਸ ॥੧॥ |

| Sing continually the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ |
| har har naam anthar our dhhaar || |
| Keep the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, enshrined in your heart, |

| ਸੀਘਰ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਲੇਹੁ ਸਵਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| seeghar kaaraj laehu savaar ||1|| rehaao || |
| and your affairs shall be quickly resolved. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਅਪਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਉ ਹੋਹੁ ਸਾਵਧਾਨੁ ॥ |
| apanae prabh sio hohu saavadhhaan || |
| Be always attentive to your God; |
|
| ਉਕਤਿ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਸਗਲੀ ਤਿਆਗੁ ॥ |
| oukath siaanap sagalee thiaag || |
| Give up all your clever tricks and devices, |
|
| ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੁ ॥੨॥ |
| santh janaa kee charanee laag ||2|| |
| and hold tight to the Feet of the Saints. ||2|| |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਜੀਅ ਹਹਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਾਥਿ ॥ |
| sarab jeea hehi jaa kai haathh || |
| The One, who holds all creatures in His Hands, |
|
| ਕਦੇ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜੈ ਸਭ ਕੈ ਸਾਥਿ ॥ |
| kadhae n vishhurrai sabh kai saathh || |
| is never separated from them; He is with them all. |
|
| ਉਪਾਵ ਛੋਡਿ ਗਹੁ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਓਟ ॥ |
| oupaav shhodd gahu this kee outt || |
| Abandon your clever devices, and grasp hold of His Support. |
|
| ਨਿਮਖ ਮਾਹਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਛੋਟਿ ॥੩॥ |
| nimakh maahi hovai thaeree shhott ||3|| |
| In an instant, you shall be saved. ||3|| |
|
| ਸਦਾ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਕਰਿ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਜਾਣੁ ॥ |

| Know that He is always near at hand. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ |

| Accept the Order of God as True. |

| ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਮਿਟਾਵਹੁ ਆਪੁ ॥ |

| Servant Nanak has abolished his ego, and he is absorbed in the Lord. ||4|| |

| Why do you doubt? What do you doubt? |

| God is pervading the water, the land and the sky. |

| ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਰਚੈ ਰਾਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੧॥ |
| gur kai bachan rachai raam kai rang ||1|| |
| The Gurmukhs are saved, while the self-willed manmukhs lose their honor. ||1|| |

| ਜੋ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਸੁ ਮਨ ਕੈ ਕਾਮਿ ॥ |
| jo gur dheeaa s man kai kaam || |
| Whatever the Guru gives, is useful to the mind. |

| ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| The Infinite One is pervading among all. |

| Through the Guru's Word, doubt and prejudice are dispelled. |

| ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਕਤਹੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| gur kaa bachan kathahu n jaae || |
| He knows everything which happens. ||2|| |

| The self-willed manmukhs are dying in the thirst of duality. |

| ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਜੀਅ ਕੈ ਸਾਥ ॥ |
| gur kaa bachan jeea kai saathh || |
| They wander lost through countless incarnations; this is their pre-ordained destiny. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਅਨਾਥ ਕੋ ਨਾਥ ॥ |
| gur kaa bachan anaathh ko naathh || |
| As they plant, so shall they harvest. ||3|| |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਨਰਕਿ ਨ ਪਵੈ ॥ |
| gur kai bachan narak n pavai || |
| The Guru's Word saves one from falling into hell. |

| He makes jewels out of the dust, |

| ਗਰਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਕਰਿ ਜਤਨੁ ॥ |
| garabh mehi raakhiaa jin kar jathan || |
| and He managed to preserve you in the womb. |
|
| ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ |
| jin dheenee sobhaa vaddiaaee || |
| He has given you fame and greatness; |
|
| ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੧॥ |
| this prabh ko aath pehar dhhiaaee ||1|| |
| meditate on that God, twenty-four hours a day. ||1|| |
|
| ਰਮਈਆ ਰੇਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਜਨ ਪਾਵਉ ॥ |

| O Lord, I seek the dust of the feet of the Holy. |
