| ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| Meeting the Guru, I meditate on my Lord and Master. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਮੂੜ ਤੇ ਬਕਤਾ ॥ |
| jin keethaa moorr thae bakathaa || |
| He transformed me, the fool, into a fine speaker, |
|
| ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਬੇਸੁਰਤ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਤਾ ॥ |
| jin keethaa baesurath thae surathaa || |
| and He made the unconscious become conscious; |
|
| ਜਿਸੁ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਵੈ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥ |
| jis parasaadh navai nidhh paaee || |
| by His Grace, I have obtained the nine treasures. |
|
| ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੨॥ |
| so prabh man thae bisarath naahee ||2|| |
| May I never forget that God from my mind. ||2|| |
|
| ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਕਉ ਥਾਨੁ ॥ |
| jin dheeaa nithhaavae ko thhaan || |
| He has given a home to the homeless; |
|
| ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਨਿਮਾਨੇ ਕਉ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ |
| jin dheeaa nimaanae ko maan || |
| He has given honor to the dishonored. |
|
| ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਸਭ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਾ ॥ |
| jin keenee sabh pooran aasaa || |
| He has fulfilled all desires; |
|
| ਸਿਮਰਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਾਸ ਗਿਰਾਸਾ ॥੩॥ |
| simaro dhin rain saas giraasaa ||3|| |
| remember Him in meditation, day and night, with every breath and every morsel of food. ||3|| |

| ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਿਲਕ ਕਾਟੀ ॥ |
| jis prasaadh maaeiaa silak kaattee || |
| By His Grace, the bonds of Maya are cut away. |

| ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਟੀ ॥ |
| gur prasaadh anmrith bikh khaattee || |
| Says Nanak, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||3||72|| |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਸ ਤੇ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ |

| Says Nanak, I cannot do anything; |

| In His Sanctuary, there is no fear or sorrow. |

| ਉਸ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਗੁ ॥ |
| ous thae baahar kashhoo n hog || |
| Without Him, nothing at all can be done. |

| ਤਜੀ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਬਲ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥ |
| thajee siaanap bal budhh bikaar || |
| I have renounced clever tricks, power and intellectual corruption. |
|
| ਦਾਸ ਅਪਨੇ ਕੀ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰ ॥੧॥ |
| dhaas apanae kee raakhanehaar ||1|| |
| God is the Protector of His servant. ||1|| |

| ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ॥ |
| jap man maerae raam raam rang || |
| Meditate, O my mind, on the Lord, Raam, Raam, with love. |

| ਘਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਸਦ ਸੰਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| ghar baahar thaerai sadh sang ||1|| rehaao || |
| Within your home, and beyond it, He is always with you. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੁ ॥ |
| gur kaa sabadh anmrith ras chaakh || |
| and hold tight to the Feet of the Saints. ||2|| |

| ਅਵਰਿ ਜਤਨ ਕਹਹੁ ਕਉਨ ਕਾਜ ॥ |
| avar jathan kehahu koun kaaj || |
| Of what use are other efforts? |
|
| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਰਾਖੈ ਆਪਿ ਲਾਜ ॥੨॥ |
| kar kirapaa raakhai aap laaj ||2|| |
| Showing His Mercy, the Lord Himself protects our honor. ||2|| |
|
| ਕਿਆ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਕਹਹੁ ਕਿਆ ਜੋਰੁ ॥ |
| kiaa maanukh kehahu kiaa jor || |
| What is the human? What power does he have? |
|
| ਝੂਠਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾ ਸਭੁ ਸੋਰੁ ॥ |
| jhoothaa maaeiaa kaa sabh sor || |
| All the tumult of Maya is false. |
|
| ਕਰਣ ਕਰਾਵਨਹਾਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥ |
| karan karaavanehaar suaamee || |
| Our Lord and Master is the One who acts, and causes others to act. |
|
| ਸਗਲ ਘਟਾ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੩॥ |
| sagal ghattaa kae antharajaamee ||3|| |
| He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of all hearts. ||3|| |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਏਹੁ ॥ |
| sarab sukhaa sukh saachaa eaehu || |
| Of all comforts, this is the true comfort. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਮਨੈ ਮਹਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥ |
| gur oupadhaes manai mehi laehu || |
| O Nanak, chant and meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||4||73|| |

| Those who bear love for the Name of the Lord |

| Listening to the Lord's sermon, my pollution has been washed away. |

| ਮਹਾ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਭਏ ਸੁਖ ਸੈਲੁ ॥ |
| mehaa puneeth bheae sukh sail || |
| I have become totally pure, and I now walk in peace. |
|
| ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ॥ |
| vaddai bhaag paaeiaa saadhhasang || |
| By great good fortune, I found the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; |
|
| ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੋ ਰੰਗੁ ॥੧॥ |
| paarabreham sio laago rang ||1|| |
| I have fallen in love with the Supreme Lord God. ||1|| |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਜਨੁ ਤਾਰਿਓ ॥ |
| har har naam japath jan thaariou || |
| Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, His servant has been carried across. |

| ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰਿਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| agan saagar gur paar outhaariou ||1|| rehaao || |
| The Guru has lifted me up and carried me across the ocean of fire. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਕਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਮਨ ਸੀਤਲ ਭਏ ॥ |
| kar keerathan man seethal bheae || |
| Singing the Kirtan of His Praises, my mind has become peaceful; |

| ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਗਏ ॥ |
| janam janam kae kilavikh geae || |
| the sins of countless incarnations have been washed away. |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਪੇਖੇ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ |
| sarab nidhhaan paekhae man maahi || |
| I have seen all the treasures within my own mind; |
|
| ਅਬ ਢੂਢਨ ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੨॥ |
| ab dtoodtan kaahae ko jaahi ||2|| |
| why should I now go out searching for them? ||2|| |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਜਬ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲ ॥ |
| prabh apunae jab bheae dhaeiaal || |
| When God Himself becomes merciful, |
|
| ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਸੇਵਕ ਘਾਲ ॥ |
| pooran hoee saevak ghaal || |
| the work of His servant becomes perfect. |
|
| ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟਿ ਕੀਏ ਅਪਨੇ ਦਾਸ ॥ |
| bandhhan kaatt keeeae apanae dhaas || |
| He has cut away my bonds, and made me His slave. |
|
| ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਗੁਣਤਾਸ ॥੩॥ |
| simar simar simar gunathaas ||3|| |
| Remember, remember, remember Him in meditation; He is the treasure of excellence. ||3|| |
|
| ਏਕੋ ਮਨਿ ਏਕੋ ਸਭ ਠਾਇ ॥ |
| eaeko man eaeko sabh thaae || |
| He alone is in the mind; He alone is everywhere. |
|
| ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਭ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| pooran poor rehiou sabh jaae || |
| The Perfect Lord is totally permeating and pervading everywhere. |
|
| ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਸਭੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ॥ |
| gur poorai sabh bharam chukaaeiaa || |
| The Perfect Guru has dispelled all doubts. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੮॥੭੭॥ |
| har simarath naanak sukh paaeiaa ||4||8||77|| |
| Remembering the Lord in meditation, Nanak has found peace. ||4||8||77|| |
