| sathigur dharasan agan nivaaree || |
| It torments us through elephants, horses and beautiful clothes. |

| ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟਤ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀ ॥ |
| sathigur bhaettath houmai maaree || |
| Meeting the True Guru, egotism is subdued. |
|
| ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਨੁ ਡੋਲੈ ॥ |
| sathigur sang naahee man ddolai || |
| In the Company of the True Guru, the mind does not waver. |
|
| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੋਲੈ ॥੧॥ |

| The Gurmukh speaks the Ambrosial Word of Gurbani. ||1|| |

| ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਜਾ ਸਚ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਤੇ ॥ |
| sabh jag saachaa jaa sach mehi raathae || |
| He sees the True One pervading the whole world; he is imbued with the True One. |
|
| ਸੀਤਲ ਸਾਤਿ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਾਤੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| seethal saath gur thae prabh jaathae ||1|| rehaao || |
| I have become cool and tranquil, knowing God, through the Guru. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਜਪੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥ |
| santh prasaadh japai har naao || |
| It torments those who act, entangled in ego. |
|
| ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਉ ॥ |
| santh prasaadh har keerathan gaao || |
| It torments us through household affairs, and it torments us in renunciation. |
|
| ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਸਗਲ ਦੁਖ ਮਿਟੇ ॥ |
| santh prasaadh sagal dhukh mittae || |
| By the Grace of the Saints, all pains are erased. |
|
| ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਬੰਧਨ ਤੇ ਛੁਟੇ ॥੨॥ |
| santh prasaadh bandhhan thae shhuttae ||2|| |
| By the Grace of the Saints, one is released from bondage. ||2|| |
|
| ਸੰਤ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਮਿਟੇ ਮੋਹ ਭਰਮ ॥ |
| santh kirapaa thae mittae moh bharam || |
| By the kind Mercy of the Saints, emotional attachment and doubt are removed. |
|
| ਸਾਧ ਰੇਣ ਮਜਨ ਸਭਿ ਧਰਮ ॥ |
| saadhh raen majan sabh dhharam || |
| Taking a bath in the dust of the feet of the Holy - this is true Dharmic faith. |
|
| ਸਾਧ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ॥ |
| saadhh kirapaal dhaeiaal govindh || |
| By the kindness of the Holy, the Lord of the Universe becomes merciful. |
|
| ਸਾਧਾ ਮਹਿ ਇਹ ਹਮਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁ ॥੩॥ |
| saadhhaa mehi eih hamaree jindh ||3|| |
| The life of my soul is with the Holy. ||3|| |

| ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਤਾ ਬੈਠਣੁ ਪਾਵਉ ॥ |

| Meditating on the Merciful Lord, the Treasure of Mercy, I have obtained a seat in the Saadh Sangat. |

| ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਦਇਆ ॥ |
| mohi niragun ko prabh keenee dhaeiaa || |
| I am worthless, but God has been kind to me. |

| In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I meditate on the Lord God. |

| ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੰਤੁ ॥ |
| kaeval naam dheeou gur manth || |
| The Guru has given me the Mantra of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. |
|
| ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਭਏ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ॥ |
| thaj abhimaan bheae niravair || |
| Shedding my ego, I have become free of hate. |
|
| ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪੂਜਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਪੈਰ ॥੧॥ |
| aath pehar poojahu gur pair ||1|| |
| they do not know how to guard their own home. |
|
| ਅਬ ਮਤਿ ਬਿਨਸੀ ਦੁਸਟ ਬਿਗਾਨੀ ॥ |
| ab math binasee dhusatt bigaanee || |
| Now, my evil sense of alienation is eliminated, |
|
| ਜਬ ਤੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਕਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| jab thae suniaa har jas kaanee ||1|| rehaao || |
| since I have heard the Praises of the Lord with my ears. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਸਹਜ ਸੂਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥ |
| sehaj sookh aanandh nidhhaan || |
| The Savior Lord is the treasure of intuitive peace, poise and bliss. |

| ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਇ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥ |
| raakhanehaar rakh laee nidhaan || |
| He shall save me in the end. |
|
| ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਭੈ ਭਰਮ ॥ |
| dhookh dharadh binasae bhai bharam || |
| My pains, sufferings, fears and doubts have been erased. |
|
| ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣ ਰਖੇ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਮ ॥੨॥ |
| aavan jaan rakhae kar karam ||2|| |
| He has mercifully saved me from coming and going in reincarnation. ||2|| |
|
| ਪੇਖੈ ਬੋਲੈ ਸੁਣੈ ਸਭੁ ਆਪਿ ॥ |
| paekhai bolai sunai sabh aap || |
| He Himself beholds, speaks and hears all. |
|
| ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਮਨ ਜਾਪਿ ॥ |
| sadhaa sang thaa ko man jaap || |
| O my mind, meditate on the One who is always with you. |
|
| ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਭਇਓ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ॥ |

| By the Grace of the Saints, the Light has dawned. |
|
| ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਏਕੈ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ॥੩॥ |
| poor rehae eaekai gunathaas ||3|| |
| The One Lord, the Treasure of Excellence, is perfectly pervading everywhere. ||3|| |

| ਕਹਤ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਸੁਣਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ॥ਗੁਣ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਨਿਤ ਨੀਤ ॥ |
| kehath pavithr sunath puneeth || gun govindh gaavehi nith neeth || |
| Pure are those who speak, and sanctified are those who hear and sing, forever and ever, the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਹੋਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥ |

| Says Nanak, when the Lord bestows His Mercy, |

| bandhhan thorr bolaavai raam || |
| The whole world is under His Power. |

| ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਾਚੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥ਮਿਟਹਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੋਇ ਰਹੀਐ ॥ |
| man mehi laagai saach dhhiaan || mittehi kalaes sukhee hoe reheeai || |
| With the mind centered in meditation on the True Lord, anguish is eradicated, and one comes to dwell in peace. |

| ਐਸਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਕਹੀਐ ॥੧॥ |
| aisaa dhaathaa sathigur keheeai ||1|| |
| Such is the True Guru, the Great Giver. ||1|| |
|
| ਸੋ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਜਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਵੈ ॥ |
| so sukhadhaathaa j naam japaavai || |
| He alone is the Giver of peace, who inspires us to chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord. |
|
| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| By His Grace, He leads us to merge with Him. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਜਿਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ॥ |
| jis hoe dhaeiaal this aap milaavai || |
| He unites with Himself those unto whom He has shown His Mercy. |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ |
| sarab nidhhaan guroo thae paavai || |
| All treasures are received from the Guru. |
|
| ਆਪੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਮਿਟੈ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ॥ |
| aap thiaag mittai aavan jaanaa || |
| Renouncing selfishness and conceit, coming and going come to an end. |
|
| ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਛਾਣਾ ॥੨॥ |
| saadhh kai sang paarabreham pashhaanaa ||2|| |
| In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the Supreme Lord God is recognized. ||2|| |

| ਜਨ ਕੀ ਟੇਕ ਏਕ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥ |
| jan kee ttaek eaek gopaal || |
| The One Lord of the Universe is the Support of His humble servants. |
|
| ਏਕਾ ਲਿਵ ਏਕੋ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਉ ॥ |
| eaekaa liv eaeko man bhaao || |
| They love the One Lord; their minds are filled with love for the Lord. |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਜਨ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥੩॥ |
| sarab nidhhaan jan kai har naao ||3|| |
| The Name of the Lord is all treasures for them. ||3|| |
|
| ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥ |

| They are in love with the Supreme Lord God; |
