| Taking me by the arm, He has made me His Own. |

| I continually chant and meditate on the Sermon of the Lord, Har, Har. ||2|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥ |
| har har naam jeea praan adhhaar || |
| are all in the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, the Support of the soul and the breath of life. |

| ਸਾਚਾ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ॥ |
| saachaa dhhan paaeiou har rang || |
| their actions are pure, and their lifestyle is true. |

| ਦੁਤਰੁ ਤਰੇ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥੩॥ |
| dhuthar tharae saadhh kai sang ||3|| |
| I have crossed over the treacherous world-ocean in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||3|| |

| ਸੁਖਿ ਬੈਸਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਸਜਨ ਪਰਵਾਰੁ ॥ |
| sukh baisahu santh sajan paravaar || |
| Sit in peace, O Saints, with the family of friends. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਖਟਿਓ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਨਾਹਿ ਸੁਮਾਰੁ ॥ |
| har dhhan khattiou jaa kaa naahi sumaar || |
| Earn the wealth of the Lord, which is beyond estimation. |

| ਜਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਇ ॥ |
| jisehi paraapath this gur dhaee || |
| He alone obtains it, unto whom the Guru has bestowed it. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਹੇਇ ॥੪॥੨੭॥੯੬॥ |

| O Nanak, no one shall go away empty-handed. ||4||27||96|| |

| The hands are sanctified instantly, |

| ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥ |
| binas jaahi maaeiaa janjaal || |
| and the entanglements of Maya are dispelled. |
|
| ਰਸਨਾ ਰਮਹੁ ਰਾਮ ਗੁਣ ਨੀਤ ॥ |
| rasanaa ramahu raam gun neeth || |
| Repeat constantly with your tongue the Glorious Praises of the Lord, |
|
| ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਮੀਤ ॥੧॥ |
| sukh paavahu maerae bhaaee meeth ||1|| |
| and you shall find peace, O my friends, O Siblings of Destiny. ||1|| |

| ਲਿਖੁ ਲੇਖਣਿ ਕਾਗਦਿ ਮਸਵਾਣੀ ॥ |
| likh laekhan kaagadh masavaanee || |
| With pen and ink, write upon your paper |
|
| ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| raam naam har anmrith baanee ||1|| rehaao || |
| He is Inaccessible, Incomprehensible, Eternal and Infinite. |
|
| ਇਹ ਕਾਰਜਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਾਹਿ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥ |
| eih kaaraj thaerae jaahi bikaar || |
| By this act, your sins shall be washed away. |
|
| ਸਿਮਰਤ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਮ ਮਾਰ ॥ |
| simarath raam naahee jam maar || |
| Remembering the Lord in meditation, you shall not be punished by the Messenger of Death. |
|
| ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਕੇ ਦੂਤ ਨ ਜੋਹੈ ॥ |
| dhharam raae kae dhooth n johai || |
| The couriers of the Righteous Judge of Dharma shall not touch you. |
|
| ਮਾਇਆ ਮਗਨ ਨ ਕਛੂਐ ਮੋਹੈ ॥੨॥ |
| maaeiaa magan n kashhooai mohai ||2|| |
| The intoxication of Maya shall not entice you at all. ||2|| |
|
| ਉਧਰਹਿ ਆਪਿ ਤਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥ |
| oudhharehi aap tharai sansaar || |
| You shall be redeemed, and through you, the whole world shall be saved, |
|
| ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ॥ |
| raam naam jap eaekankaar || |
| if you chant the Name of the One and Only Lord. |
|
| ਆਪਿ ਕਮਾਉ ਅਵਰਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ ॥ |
| aap kamaao avaraa oupadhaes || |
| Practice this yourself, and teach others; |
|
| ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਪਰਵੇਸ ॥੩॥ |
| raam naam hiradhai paravaes ||3|| |
| All beings and creatures seek Your Sanctuary; |
|
| ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਾਥੈ ਏਹੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥ |
| jaa kai maathhai eaehu nidhhaan || |
| That person, who has this treasure upon his forehead |
|
| ਸੋਈ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਜਪੈ ਭਗਵਾਨੁ ॥ |
| soee purakh japai bhagavaan || |
| that person meditates on God. |
|
| ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥ |
| aath pehar har har gun gaao || |
| Twenty-four hours a day, chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. |
|
| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥੪॥੨੮॥੯੭॥ |

| That which belongs to another - he claims as his own. |
|
| ਜੋ ਤਜਿ ਛੋਡਨ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਰਚਨਾ ॥੧॥ |
| jo thaj shhoddan this sio man rachanaa ||1|| |
| That which he must abandon - to that, his mind is attracted. ||1|| |
|
| ਕਹਹੁ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਕੇਹ ॥ |
| kehahu gusaaee mileeai kaeh || |
| Tell me, how can he meet the Lord of the World? |
|
| ਜੋ ਬਿਬਰਜਤ ਤਿਸ ਸਿਉ ਨੇਹ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| jo bibarajath this sio naeh ||1|| rehaao || |
| That which is forbidden - with that, he is in love. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਝੂਠੁ ਬਾਤ ਸਾ ਸਚੁ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਤੀ ॥ |
| jhooth baath saa sach kar jaathee || |
| That which is false - he deems as true. |
|
| ਸਤਿ ਹੋਵਨੁ ਮਨਿ ਲਗੈ ਨ ਰਾਤੀ ॥੨॥ |
| sath hovan man lagai n raathee ||2|| |
| That which is true - his mind is not attached to that at all. ||2|| |
|
| ਬਾਵੈ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਟੇਢਾ ਚਲਨਾ ॥ |
| baavai maarag ttaedtaa chalanaa || |
| He takes the crooked path of the unrighteous way; |
|
| ਸੀਧਾ ਛੋਡਿ ਅਪੂਠਾ ਬੁਨਨਾ ॥੩॥ |
| seedhhaa shhodd apoothaa bunanaa ||3|| |
| leaving the straight and narrow path, he weaves his way backwards. ||3|| |
|
| ਦੁਹਾ ਸਿਰਿਆ ਕਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥ |
| dhuhaa siriaa kaa khasam prabh soee || |
| God is the Lord and Master of both worlds. |
|
| ਜਿਸੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਹੋਈ ॥੪॥੨੯॥੯੮॥ |
| jis maelae naanak so mukathaa hoee ||4||29||98|| |
| He, whom the Lord unites with Himself, O Nanak, is liberated. ||4||29||98|| |

| In the Dark Age of Kali Yuga, they come together through destiny. |
|
| ਜਿਚਰੁ ਆਗਿਆ ਤਿਚਰੁ ਭੋਗਹਿ ਭੋਗ ॥੧॥ |
| jichar aagiaa thichar bhogehi bhog ||1|| |
| As long as the Lord commands, they enjoy their pleasures. ||1|| |
|
| ਜਲੈ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਰਾਮ ਸਨੇਹੀ ॥ |
| jalai n paaeeai raam sanaehee || |
| By burning oneself, the Beloved Lord is not obtained. |
|
| ਕਿਰਤਿ ਸੰਜੋਗਿ ਸਤੀ ਉਠਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| ਦੇਖਾ ਦੇਖੀ ਮਨਹਠਿ ਜਲਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥ |
| dhaekhaa dhaekhee manehath jal jaaeeai || |
| Imitating what she sees, with her stubborn mind-set, she goes into the fire. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਸੰਗੁ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨਿ ਭਵਾਈਐ ॥੨॥ |
| pria sang n paavai bahu jon bhavaaeeai ||2|| |
| She does not obtain the Company of her Beloved Lord, and she wanders through countless incarnations. ||2|| |
|
| ਸੀਲ ਸੰਜਮਿ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਆਗਿਆ ਮਾਨੈ ॥ |
| seel sanjam pria aagiaa maanai || |
| I chant the Ambrosial Bani, the Glorious Praises of God. |
|
| ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਰੀ ਕਉ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਜਮਾਨੈ ॥੩॥ |
| this naaree ko dhukh n jamaanai ||3|| |
| that woman shall not suffer pain at the hands of the Messenger of Death. ||3|| |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥ |
