| I am prosperous and fortunate, for I have received the True Name. |

| ਪੀਊ ਦਾਦੇ ਕਾ ਖੋਲਿ ਡਿਠਾ ਖਜਾਨਾ ॥ |
| peeoo dhaadhae kaa khol ddithaa khajaanaa || |
| When I opened it up and gazed upon the treasures of my father and grandfather, |

| ਤਾ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਇਆ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ॥੧॥ |
| thaa maerai man bhaeiaa nidhhaanaa ||1|| |
| then my mind became very happy. ||1|| |

| ਰਤਨ ਲਾਲ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਮੋਲੁ ॥ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਅਖੂਟ ਅਤੋਲ ॥੨॥ |
| rathan laal jaa kaa kashhoo n mol || bharae bhanddaar akhoott athol ||2|| |
| The storehouse is inexhaustible and immeasurable, overflowing with priceless jewels and rubies. ||2|| |

| ਖਾਵਹਿ ਖਰਚਹਿ ਰਲਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਭਾਈ ॥ |
| khaavehi kharachehi ral mil bhaaee || |
| The Siblings of Destiny meet together, and eat and spend, |
|
| ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਵਧਦੋ ਜਾਈ ॥੩॥ |
| thott n aavai vadhhadho jaaee ||3|| |
| but these resources do not diminish; they continue to increase. ||3|| |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੇਖੁ ਲਿਖਾਇ ॥ |

| Says Nanak, one who has such destiny written on his forehead, |

| I was scared, scared to death, when I thought that He was far away. |

| ਡਰੁ ਚੂਕਾ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੧॥ |
| ddar chookaa dhaekhiaa bharapoor ||1|| |
| But my fear was removed, when I saw that He is pervading everywhere. ||1|| |

| ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਅਪਨੇ ਕਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ॥ |
| sathigur apunae ko balihaarai || |
| I am a sacrifice to my True Guru. |

| ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਸਰਪਰ ਤਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| Pain, disease and sorrow come when one forgets the Naam, the Name of the Lord. |

| ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਮੁ ॥੨॥ |
| sadhaa anandh jaa har gun gaam ||2|| |
| Eternal bliss comes when one sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||2|| |

| ਬੁਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਨ ਕਹੀਜੈ ॥ |
| buraa bhalaa koee n keheejai || |
| Do not say that anyone is good or bad. |
|
| ਛੋਡਿ ਮਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਗਹੀਜੈ ॥੩॥ |
| shhodd maan har charan geheejai ||3|| |
| Renounce your arrogant pride, and grasp the Feet of the Lord. ||3|| |

| ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਕਹੁ ਕਾ ਕੀ ਕਮੀਆ ॥੧॥ |

| - tell me, what else do they need? ||1|| |

| ਜਾ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੀ ॥ |

| Those who are in love with the Lord of the Universe |

| ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਭਾਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| - pain, suffering and doubt run away from them. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਜਾ ਕਉ ਰਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਹੈ ਆਇਓ ॥ |
| jaa ko ras har ras hai aaeiou || |
| Those who have enjoyed the flavor of the Lord's sublime essence |

| ਸੋ ਅਨ ਰਸ ਨਾਹੀ ਲਪਟਾਇਓ ॥੨॥ |
| so an ras naahee lapattaaeiou ||2|| |
| are not attracted to any other pleasures. ||2|| |

| ਜਾ ਕਾ ਕਹਿਆ ਦਰਗਹ ਚਲੈ ॥ |
| jaa kaa kehiaa dharageh chalai || |
| Those whose speech is accepted in the Court of the Lord |
|
| ਸੋ ਕਿਸ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਲੈ ਆਵੈ ਤਲੈ ॥੩॥ |
| so kis ko nadhar lai aavai thalai ||3|| |
| - what do they care about anything else? ||3|| |
|
| ਜਾ ਕਾ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ |
| jaa kaa sabh kishh thaa kaa hoe || |
| Those who belong to the One, unto whom all things belong |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੩੩॥੧੦੨॥ |

| Those who look alike upon pleasure and pain |

| ਤਾ ਕਉ ਕਾੜਾ ਕਹਾ ਬਿਆਪੈ ॥੧॥ |
| thaa ko kaarraa kehaa biaapai ||1|| |
| - how can anxiety touch them? ||1|| |
|
| ਸਹਜ ਅਨੰਦ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ |
| sehaj anandh har saadhhoo maahi || |
| Tell me, how can he meet the Lord of the World? |
|
| ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| They remain obedient to the Lord, the Sovereign Lord King. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਜਾ ਕੈ ਅਚਿੰਤੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥ |
| jaa kai achinth vasai man aae || |
| Those who have the Carefree Lord abiding in their minds |

| ਤਾ ਕਉ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਕਤਹੂੰ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੨॥ |
| thaa ko chinthaa kathehoon naahi ||2|| |
| - no cares will ever bother them. ||2|| |
|
| ਜਾ ਕੈ ਬਿਨਸਿਓ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਭਰਮਾ ॥ |
| jaa kai binasiou man thae bharamaa || |
| Those who have banished doubt from their minds |
|
| ਤਾ ਕੈ ਕਛੂ ਨਾਹੀ ਡਰੁ ਜਮਾ ॥੩॥ |
| thaa kai kashhoo naahee ddar jamaa ||3|| |
| are not afraid of death at all. ||3|| |
|
| ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਦੀਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥ |
| jaa kai hiradhai dheeou gur naamaa || |
| God is the Lord and Master of both worlds. |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ॥੪॥੩੪॥੧੦੩॥ |

| As long as the Lord commands, they enjoy their pleasures. ||1|| |

| Imitating what she sees, with her stubborn mind-set, she goes into the fire. |
