| pooraa maarag pooraa eisanaan || |
| Perfect is the path; perfect is the cleansing bath. |

| ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ |
| sabh kishh pooraa hiradhai naam ||1|| |
| Everything is perfect, if the Naam is in the heart. ||1|| |
|
| ਪੂਰੀ ਰਹੀ ਜਾ ਪੂਰੈ ਰਾਖੀ ॥ |
| pooree rehee jaa poorai raakhee || |
| One's honor remains perfect, when the Perfect Lord preserves it. |

| ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਜਨ ਤਾਕੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| Perfect is the peace; perfect is the contentment. |

| ਪੂਰਾ ਤਪੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਰਾਜੁ ਜੋਗੁ ॥੨॥ |
| pooraa thap pooran raaj jog ||2|| |
| Perfect is the penance; perfect is the Raja Yoga, the Yoga of meditation and success. ||2|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ॥ |
| har kai maarag pathith puneeth || |
| On the Lord's Path, sinners are purified. |
|
| ਪੂਰੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਲੋਕੀਕ ॥੩॥ |
| pooree sobhaa pooraa lokeek ||3|| |
| Perfect is their glory; perfect is their humanity. ||3|| |
|
| ਕਰਣਹਾਰੁ ਸਦ ਵਸੈ ਹਦੂਰਾ ॥ |
| karanehaar sadh vasai hadhooraa || |
| They dwell forever in the Presence of the Creator Lord. |

| santh prasaadh janam maran thae shhott ||1|| |
| By the Grace of the Saints, one is released from birth and death. ||1|| |
|
| ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦਰਸੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥ |
| santh kaa dharas pooran eisanaan || |
| The Blessed Vision of the Saints is the perfect cleansing bath. |
|
| ਸੰਤ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| By the Grace of the Saints, one comes to chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਸੰਤ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ॥ |

| In the Society of the Saints, egotism is shed, |
|
| ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਆਵੈ ਸਭੁ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ॥੨॥ |
| dhrisatt aavai sabh eaekankaar ||2|| |
| and the One Lord is seen everywhere. ||2|| |
|
| ਸੰਤ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਆਏ ਵਸਿ ਪੰਚਾ ॥ |
| santh suprasann aaeae vas panchaa || |
| By the pleasure of the Saints, the five passions are overpowered, |
|
| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਲੈ ਸੰਚਾ ॥੩॥ |
| anmrith naam ridhai lai sanchaa ||3|| |
| and the heart is irrigated with the Ambrosial Naam. ||3|| |
|
| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਮ ॥ |
| kahu naanak jaa kaa pooraa karam || |
| Says Nanak, one whose karma is perfect, |
|
| ਤਿਸੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ॥੪॥੪੬॥੧੧੫॥ |

| har gun japath kamal paragaasai || |
| Meditating on the Glories of the Lord, the heart-lotus blossoms radiantly. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਸਭ ਨਾਸੈ ॥੧॥ |
| har simarath thraas sabh naasai ||1|| |
| Remembering the Lord in meditation, all fears are dispelled. ||1|| |
|
| ਸਾ ਮਤਿ ਪੂਰੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥ |

| Perfect is that intellect, by which the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung. |

| ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| vaddai bhaag saadhhoo sang paavai ||1|| rehaao || |
| By great good fortune, one finds the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥ |
| saadhhasang paaeeai nidhh naamaa || |
| In the Saadh Sangat, the treasure of the Name is obtained. |

| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਭਿ ਕਾਮਾ ॥੨॥ |
| saadhhasang pooran sabh kaamaa ||2|| |
| Eating, drinking, playing, laughing and showing off |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥ |
| har kee bhagath janam paravaan || |
| - what use are the ostentatious displays of the dead? ||2|| |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੁ ॥੩॥ |
| gur kirapaa thae naam vakhaan ||3|| |
| Those who do not listen to the Praises of the Lord of supreme bliss, |
|
| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥ |
| kahu naanak so jan paravaan || |
| Says Nanak, that humble being is accepted, |
|
| ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੈ ਭਗਵਾਨੁ ॥੪॥੪੭॥੧੧੬॥ |

| ਏਕਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ॥ |
| eaekas sio jaa kaa man raathaa || |
| Those whose minds are imbued with the One Lord, |
|
| ਵਿਸਰੀ ਤਿਸੈ ਪਰਾਈ ਤਾਤਾ ॥੧॥ |
| visaree thisai paraaee thaathaa ||1|| |
| forget to feel jealous of others. ||1|| |
|
| ਬਿਨੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ਕੋਈ ॥ |
| bin gobindh n dheesai koee || |
| They see none other than the Lord of the Universe. |
|
| ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਕਰਤਾ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| The Creator is the Doer, the Cause of causes. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਮਨਹਿ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲੈ ॥ |
| manehi kamaavai mukh har har bolai || |
| Those who work willingly, and chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har |
|
| ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਇਤ ਉਤ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਡੋਲੈ ॥੨॥ |
| so jan eith outh kathehi n ddolai ||2|| |
| - they do not waver, here or hereafter. ||2|| |
|
| ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਸੋ ਸਚ ਸਾਹੁ ॥ |
| jaa kai har dhhan so sach saahu || |
| Those who possess the wealth of the Lord are the true bankers. |
|
| ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੋ ਵਿਸਾਹੁ ॥੩॥ |
| gur poorai kar dheeno visaahu ||3|| |
| The Perfect Guru has established their line of credit. ||3|| |
|
| ਜੀਵਨ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥ |
| jeevan purakh miliaa har raaeiaa || |
| The Giver of life, the Sovereign Lord King meets them. |
|
| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੪੮॥੧੧੭॥ |

| naam bhagath kai praan adhhaar || |
| The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the Support of the breath of life of His devotees. |
|
| ਨਾਮੋ ਧਨੁ ਨਾਮੋ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ |
| naamo dhhan naamo biouhaar ||1|| |
| The Naam is their wealth, the Naam is their occupation. ||1|| |
|
| ਨਾਮ ਵਡਾਈ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਏ ॥ |
| naam vaddaaee jan sobhaa paaeae || |
| By the greatness of the Naam, His humble servants are blessed with glory. |
|
| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਦਿਵਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| The Lord Himself bestows it, in His Mercy. ||1||Pause|| |

| The Naam is the home of peace of His devotees. |
|
| ਨਾਮ ਰਤੁ ਸੋ ਭਗਤੁ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥੨॥ |
| naam rath so bhagath paravaan ||2|| |
| Attuned to the Naam, His devotees are approved. ||2|| |
