| Redeemed is the life, death and birth of those, |

| ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੈ ਭਗਵਾਨੁ ॥੩॥ |
| jaa kai ridhai vasai bhagavaan ||3|| |
| within whose hearts the Lord God abides. ||3|| |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇਈ ਜਨ ਪੂਰੇ ॥ |

| Says Nanak, those humble beings are perfect, |

| ਜਿਨਾ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰੇ ॥੪॥੭੭॥੧੪੬॥ |

| ਖਾਦਾ ਪੈਨਦਾ ਮੂਕਰਿ ਪਾਇ ॥ |
| khaadhaa painadhaa mookar paae || |
| They eat and wear what they are given, but still, they deny the Lord. |
|
| ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਜੋਹਹਿ ਦੂਤ ਧਰਮਰਾਇ ॥੧॥ |
| this no johehi dhooth dhharamaraae ||1|| |
| The messengers of the Righteous Judge of Dharma shall hunt them down. ||1|| |
|
| ਤਿਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਬੇਮੁਖੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਦੀਨਾ ॥ |
| this sio baemukh jin jeeo pindd dheenaa || |
| They are unfaithful to the One, who has given them body and soul. |

| ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਭਰਮਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਜੂਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| kott janam bharamehi bahu joonaa ||1|| rehaao || |
| Through millions of incarnations, for so many lifetimes, they wander lost. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਸਾਕਤ ਕੀ ਐਸੀ ਹੈ ਰੀਤਿ ॥ |
| saakath kee aisee hai reeth || |
| Such is the lifestyle of the faithless cynics; |
|
| ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੈ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਪਰੀਤਿ ॥੨॥ |
| jo kishh karai sagal bipareeth ||2|| |
| everything they do is evil. ||2|| |
|
| ਜੀਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਜਿਨਿ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਧਾਰਿਆ ॥ਸੋਈ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਮਨਹੁ ਬਿਸਾਰਿਆ ॥੩॥ |
| jeeo praan jin man than dhhaariaa || soee thaakur manahu bisaariaa ||3|| |
| Within their minds, they have forgotten that Lord and Master, who created the soul, breath of life, mind and body. ||3|| |

| ਬਧੇ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਲਿਖੇ ਬਹੁ ਕਾਗਰ ॥ |
| badhhae bikaar likhae bahu kaagar || |
| Their wickedness and corruption have increased - they are recorded in volumes of books. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਉਧਰੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ॥੪॥ |
| naanak oudhhar kirapaa sukh saagar ||4|| |
| O Nanak, they are saved only by the Mercy of God, the Ocean of peace. ||4|| |

| For their own advantage, they make God their friend. |

| ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਦੁ ਦੀਤੁ ॥੧॥ |
| sagal manorathh mukath padh dheeth ||1|| |
| He fulfills all their desires, and blesses them with the state of liberation. ||1|| |

| ਐਸਾ ਮੀਤੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
| aisaa meeth karahu sabh koe || |
| Everyone should make Him such a friend. |
|
| ਜਾ ਤੇ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| jaa thae birathhaa koe n hoe ||1|| rehaao || |
| No one goes away empty-handed from Him. ||1||Pause|| |

| For their own purposes, they enshrine the Lord in the heart; |

| ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਰੋਗ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਦਾਰਿਆ ॥੨॥ |
| dhookh dharadh rog sagal bidhaariaa ||2|| |
| all pain, suffering and disease are taken away. ||2|| |
|
| ਰਸਨਾ ਗੀਧੀ ਬੋਲਤ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| rasanaa geedhhee bolath raam || |
| In the Saadh Sangat, I have earned the wealth of the Naam. |
|
| ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਏ ਸਗਲੇ ਕਾਮ ॥੩॥ |
| pooran hoeae sagalae kaam ||3|| |
| and all their works are brought to perfection. ||3|| |

| ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਾ ॥ |

| So many times, Nanak is a sacrifice to Him; |

| har har kathhaa saadhhasang sunaahi ||1|| |
| for those who listen to the Sermon of the Lord, Har, Har, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1|| |

| ਪੀਵਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਗੁਣ ਜਾਸੁ ॥ |
| peevath raam ras anmrith gun jaas || |
| Peace, celestial bliss, pleasures and the greatest ecstasy are obtained; |

| ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਮਿਟੀ ਖੁਧਿ ਤਾਸੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| chanting and meditating, you shall live in supreme bliss. ||2|| |

| The treasure of all happiness, celestial peace and poise, |

| ਅਉਖਧ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਤੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਛਾਰੁ ॥ |
| aoukhadhh manthr thanth sabh shhaar || |
| All medicines and remedies, mantras and tantras are nothing more than ashes. |

| ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੁ ਰਿਦੇ ਮਹਿ ਧਾਰੁ ॥੩॥ |
| karanaihaar ridhae mehi dhhaar ||3|| |
| Enshrine the Creator Lord within your heart. ||3|| |

| ਤਜਿ ਸਭਿ ਭਰਮ ਭਜਿਓ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ॥ |
| thaj sabh bharam bhajiou paarabreham || |
| Renounce all your doubts, and vibrate upon the Supreme Lord God. |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਟਲ ਇਹੁ ਧਰਮੁ ॥੪॥੮੦॥੧੪੯॥ |

| By His power, no disease afflicts me. ||1|| |

| Remembering the Lord, I cross over the terrifying world-ocean. |

| By this Support, my affairs have been resolved. ||2|| |

| Meditation, self-discipline, self-control and perfect greatness were obtained when the Merciful Lord, the Guru, became my Help and Support. ||3|| |

| The Guru has dispelled pride, emotional attachment and superstition. |
