| Seek the Sanctuary of those who have come to know the Lord. |

| ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਚਰਣ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਤੇ ॥੧॥ |
| man than seethal charan har raathae ||1|| |
| Your mind and body shall become cool and peaceful, imbued with the Feet of the Lord. ||1|| |

| ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਨਿ ਨ ਬਸਾਹੀ ॥ |

| If God, the Destroyer of fear, does not dwell within your mind, |

| ਡਰਪਤ ਡਰਪਤ ਜਨਮ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਜਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| you shall spend countless incarnations in fear and dread. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ॥ |
| jaa kai ridhai basiou har naam || |
| But those who are intoxicated with vice shall find no home, no place of rest. ||2|| |

| ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮ ॥੨॥ |
| sagal manorathh thaa kae pooran kaam ||2|| |
| have all their desires and tasks fulfilled. ||2|| |

| ਜਨਮੁ ਜਰਾ ਮਿਰਤੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਵਾਸਿ ॥ |
| janam jaraa mirath jis vaas || |
| Birth, old age and death are in His Power, |
|
| ਸੋ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ॥੩॥ |
| so samarathh simar saas giraas ||3|| |
| so remember that All-powerful Lord with each breath and morsel of food. ||3|| |

| returning home, the Lord of the Universe is still with them. ||1|| |

| The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is the Companion of His Saints. |

| Honor and intuitive awareness are acquired through the Name of the Lord God. |

| There are millions of joys where the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung. ||1|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਿਐ ਦੁਖ ਰੋਗ ਘਨੇਰੇ ॥ |
| har bisariai dhukh rog ghanaerae || |
| Forgetting the Lord, all sorts of pains and diseases come. |

| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੇਵਾ ਜਮੁ ਲਗੈ ਨ ਨੇਰੇ ॥੨॥ |
| prabh saevaa jam lagai n naerae ||2|| |
| Serving God, the Messenger of Death will not even approach you. ||2|| |

| ਸੋ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਥਾਨੁ ॥ |
| so vaddabhaagee nihachal thhaan || |
| Very blessed, stable and sublime is that place, |
|
| ਜਹ ਜਪੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੩॥ |

| where the Name of God alone is chanted. ||3|| |

| ਜਹ ਜਾਈਐ ਤਹ ਨਾਲਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥ |

| Wherever I go, my Lord and Master is with me. |

| parriaa anaparriaa param gath paavai ||1|| |
| whether educated or uneducated, obtains the state of supreme dignity. ||1|| |

| In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, meditate on the Lord of the World. |

| ਰੂਪਵੰਤੁ ਸੋ ਚਤੁਰੁ ਸਿਆਣਾ ॥ |
| roopavanth so chathur siaanaa || |
| They alone are handsome, clever and wise, |
|
| ਜਿਨਿ ਜਨਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ॥੨॥ |
| jin jan maaniaa prabh kaa bhaanaa ||2|| |
| who surrender to the Will of God. ||2|| |
|
| ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਆ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥ |
| jag mehi aaeiaa so paravaan || |
| Blessed is their coming into this world, |
|
| ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਅਪਣਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਾਣੁ ॥੩॥ |
| ghatt ghatt apanaa suaamee jaan ||3|| |
| if they recognize their Lord and Master in each and every heart. ||3|| |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਭਾਗ ॥ |
| kahu naanak jaa kae pooran bhaag || |
| Says Nanak, their good fortune is perfect, |

| One is in the clutches of vice, while the other is in love with the Lord. ||1||Pause|| |

| It would be like an imaginary rider on a decorated horse, |

| ਜਿਉ ਕਾਪੁਰਖੁ ਪੁਚਾਰੈ ਨਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ |

| or a eunuch caressing a woman. ||1|| |
