| ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਨੁ ਸਭ ਗੁਨ ਤੇਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| I am worthless and without virtue; all virtues are Yours. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਪੰਚ ਬਿਖਾਦੀ ਏਕੁ ਗਰੀਬਾ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੇ ॥ |
| panch bikhaadhee eaek gareebaa raakhahu raakhanehaarae || |
| The five vicious thieves are assaulting my poor being; save me, O Savior Lord! |

| ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਹਾਰਿਓ ਅਨਿਕ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤੀ ਛੋਡਹਿ ਕਤਹੂੰ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ |
| kar kar haariou anik bahu bhaathee shhoddehi kathehoon naahee || |
| Trying all sorts of things, I have grown weary, but still, they will not leave me alone. |
|
| ਏਕ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨਿ ਤਾਕੀ ਓਟਾ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਟਿ ਜਾਹੀ ॥੨॥ |
| eaek baath sun thaakee outtaa saadhhasang mitt jaahee ||2|| |
| But I have heard that they can be rooted out, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; and so I seek their Shelter. ||2|| |
|
| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸੰਤ ਮਿਲੇ ਮੋਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਤੇ ਧੀਰਜੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| kar kirapaa santh milae mohi thin thae dhheeraj paaeiaa || |
| In their Mercy, the Saints have met me, and from them, I have obtained satisfaction. |

| ਸੰਤੀ ਮੰਤੁ ਦੀਓ ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਮਾਇਆ ॥੩॥ |
| santhee manth dheeou mohi nirabho gur kaa sabadh kamaaeiaa ||3|| |
| The Saints have given me the Mantra of the Fearless Lord, and now I practice the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||3|| |
|
| ਜੀਤਿ ਲਏ ਓਇ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਖਾਦੀ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਹੇਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ |
| jeeth leae oue mehaa bikhaadhee sehaj suhaelee baanee || |
| I have now conquered those terrible evil-doers, and my speech is now sweet and sublime. |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਭਇਆ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੨੫॥ |
| kahu naanak man bhaeiaa paragaasaa paaeiaa padh nirabaanee ||4||4||125|| |
| Says Nanak, the Divine Light has dawned within my mind; I have obtained the state of Nirvaanaa. ||4||4||125|| |

| ਓਹੁ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਰਾਇਆ ॥ |
| ouhu abinaasee raaeiaa || |
| He is the Eternal King. |
|
| ਨਿਰਭਉ ਸੰਗਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੈ ਬਸਤੇ ਇਹੁ ਡਰਨੁ ਕਹਾ ਤੇ ਆਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| nirabho sang thumaarai basathae eihu ddaran kehaa thae aaeiaa ||1|| rehaao || |
| The Fearless Lord abides with you. So where does this fear come from? ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਏਕ ਮਹਲਿ ਤੂੰ ਹੋਹਿ ਅਫਾਰੋ ਏਕ ਮਹਲਿ ਨਿਮਾਨੋ ॥ |
| eaek mehal thoon hohi afaaro eaek mehal nimaano || |
| In one person, You are arrogant and proud, and in another, You are meek and humble. |
|
| ਏਕ ਮਹਲਿ ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੇ ਏਕ ਮਹਲਿ ਗਰੀਬਾਨੋ ॥੧॥ |
| eaek mehal thoon aapae aapae eaek mehal gareebaano ||1|| |
| In one person, You are all by Yourself, and in another, You are poor. ||1|| |
|
| ਏਕ ਮਹਲਿ ਤੂੰ ਪੰਡਿਤੁ ਬਕਤਾ ਏਕ ਮਹਲਿ ਖਲੁ ਹੋਤਾ ॥ |
| eaek mehal thoon panddith bakathaa eaek mehal khal hothaa || |
| In one person, you are a Pandit, a religious scholar and a preacher, and in another, You are just a fool. |
|
| ਏਕ ਮਹਲਿ ਤੂੰ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਗ੍ਰਾਹਜੁ ਏਕ ਮਹਲਿ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਲੇਤਾ ॥੨॥ |
| eaek mehal thoon sabh kishh graahaj eaek mehal kashhoo n laethaa ||2|| |
| In one person, You grab hold of everything, and in another, You accept nothing. ||2|| |
|
| ਕਾਠ ਕੀ ਪੁਤਰੀ ਕਹਾ ਕਰੈ ਬਪੁਰੀ ਖਿਲਾਵਨਹਾਰੋ ਜਾਨੈ ॥ |
| kaath kee putharee kehaa karai bapuree khilaavanehaaro jaanai || |
| What can the poor wooden puppet do? The Master Puppeteer knows everything. |

| ਜੈਸਾ ਭੇਖੁ ਕਰਾਵੈ ਬਾਜੀਗਰੁ ਓਹੁ ਤੈਸੋ ਹੀ ਸਾਜੁ ਆਨੈ ॥੩॥ |
| jaisaa bhaekh karaavai baajeegar ouhu thaiso hee saaj aanai ||3|| |
| As the Puppeteer dresses the puppet, so is the role the puppet plays. ||3|| |
|
| ਅਨਿਕ ਕੋਠਰੀ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਰੀਆ ਆਪਿ ਹੋਆ ਰਖਵਾਰਾ ॥ |
| anik kotharee bahuth bhaath kareeaa aap hoaa rakhavaaraa || |
| The Lord has created the various chambers of assorted descriptions, and He Himself protects them. |
|
| ਜੈਸੇ ਮਹਲਿ ਰਾਖੈ ਤੈਸੈ ਰਹਨਾ ਕਿਆ ਇਹੁ ਕਰੈ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ॥੪॥ |
| jaisae mehal raakhai thaisai rehanaa kiaa eihu karai bichaaraa ||4|| |
| As is that vessel in which the Lord places the soul, so does it dwell. What can this poor being do? ||4|| |
|
| ਜਿਨਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਆ ਸੋਈ ਜਾਨੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਸਾਜੀ ॥ |
| jin kishh keeaa soee jaanai jin eih sabh bidhh saajee || |
| The One who created the thing, understands it; He has fashioned all of this. |
|
| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਾਜੀ ॥੫॥੫॥੧੨੬॥ |
| kahu naanak aparanpar suaamee keemath apunae kaajee ||5||5||126|| |
| Says Nanak, the Lord and Master is Infinite; He alone understands the value of His Creation. ||5||5||126|| |

| ਛੋਡਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਰੇ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਕੇ ਰਸੂਆ ॥ |
| shhodd shhodd rae bikhiaa kae rasooaa || |
| Give them up - give up the pleasures of corruption; |
|
| ਉਰਝਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਰੇ ਬਾਵਰ ਗਾਵਰ ਜਿਉ ਕਿਰਖੈ ਹਰਿਆਇਓ ਪਸੂਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| ourajh rehiou rae baavar gaavar jio kirakhai hariaaeiou pasooaa ||1|| rehaao || |
| you are entangled in them, you crazy fool, like an animal grazing in the green fields. ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਜੋ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਾਜੈ ਸੋ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਚਾਲੈ ਤੇਰੈ ਤਸੂਆ ॥ |
| jo jaanehi thoon apunae kaajai so sang n chaalai thaerai thasooaa || |
| That which you believe to be of use to you, shall not go even an inch with you. |

| ਨਾਗੋ ਆਇਓ ਨਾਗ ਸਿਧਾਸੀ ਫੇਰਿ ਫਿਰਿਓ ਅਰੁ ਕਾਲਿ ਗਰਸੂਆ ॥੧॥ |
| naago aaeiou naag sidhhaasee faer firiou ar kaal garasooaa ||1|| |
| Naked you came, and naked you shall depart. You shall go round and round the cycle of birth and death, and you shall be food for Death. ||1|| |

| ਪੇਖਿ ਪੇਖਿ ਰੇ ਕਸੁੰਭ ਕੀ ਲੀਲਾ ਰਾਚਿ ਮਾਚਿ ਤਿਨਹੂੰ ਲਉ ਹਸੂਆ ॥ |
| paekh paekh rae kasunbh kee leelaa raach maach thinehoon lo hasooaa || |
| Watching, watching the transitory dramas of the world, you are embroiled and enmeshed in them, and you laugh with delight. |

| ਛੀਜਤ ਡੋਰਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਅਰੁ ਰੈਨੀ ਜੀਅ ਕੋ ਕਾਜੁ ਨ ਕੀਨੋ ਕਛੂਆ ॥੨॥ |
| shheejath ddor dhinas ar rainee jeea ko kaaj n keeno kashhooaa ||2|| |
| The string of life is wearing thin, day and night, and you have done nothing for your soul. ||2|| |
|
| ਕਰਤ ਕਰਤ ਇਵ ਹੀ ਬਿਰਧਾਨੋ ਹਾਰਿਓ ਉਕਤੇ ਤਨੁ ਖੀਨਸੂਆ ॥ |
| karath karath eiv hee biradhhaano haariou oukathae than kheenasooaa || |
| Doing your deeds, you have grown old; your voice fails you, and your body has become weak. |

| ਜਿਉ ਮੋਹਿਓ ਉਨਿ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਬਾਲਾ ਉਸ ਤੇ ਘਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਰੁਚ ਚਸੂਆ ॥੩॥ |
| jio mohiou oun mohanee baalaa ous thae ghattai naahee ruch chasooaa ||3|| |
| You were enticed by Maya in your youth, and your attachment for it has not diminished, one little bit. ||3|| |
|
| ਜਗੁ ਐਸਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਗੁਰਹਿ ਦਿਖਾਇਓ ਤਉ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਤਜਿ ਗਰਬਸੂਆ ॥ |
| jag aisaa mohi gurehi dhikhaaeiou tho saran pariou thaj garabasooaa || |
| The Guru has shown me that this is the way of the world; I have abandoned the dwelling of pride, and entered Your Sanctuary. |

| ਮਾਰਗੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੋ ਸੰਤਿ ਬਤਾਇਓ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਭਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੂਆ ॥੪॥੬॥੧੨੭॥ |
| maarag prabh ko santh bathaaeiou dhrirree naanak dhaas bhagath har jasooaa ||4||6||127|| |
| The Saint has shown me the Path of God; slave Nanak has implanted devotional worship and the Praise of the Lord. ||4||6||127|| |

| anthar kee bidhh thum hee jaanee thum hee sajan suhaelae || |
| You alone know the condition of my inner being. You are my Beautiful Friend. |

| ਬਰਨਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਰੰਗਾ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ॥ |
| baran n saako thumarae rangaa gun nidhhaan sukhadhaathae || |
| I cannot describe Your Manifestations, O Treasure of Excellence, O Giver of peace. |

| ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਜਾਤੇ ॥੨॥ |
| agam agochar prabh abinaasee poorae gur thae jaathae ||2|| |
| God is Inaccessible, Incomprehensible and Imperishable; He is known through the Perfect Guru. ||2|| |

| ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਕਾਟਿ ਕੀਏ ਨਿਹਕੇਵਲ ਜਬ ਤੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀ ॥ |
| bhram bho kaatt keeeae nihakaeval jab thae houmai maaree || |
| My doubt and fear have been taken away, and I have been made pure, since my ego was conquered. |

| ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਕੋ ਚੂਕੋ ਸਹਸਾ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਦਰਸਾਰੀ ॥੩॥ |
| janam maran ko chooko sehasaa saadhhasangath dharasaaree ||3|| |
| My fear of birth and death has been abolished, beholding Your Blessed Vision in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||3|| |
|
| ਚਰਣ ਪਖਾਰਿ ਕਰਉ ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਬਾਰਿ ਜਾਉ ਲਖ ਬਰੀਆ ॥ |
| charan pakhaar karo gur saevaa baar jaao lakh bareeaa || |
| I wash the Guru's Feet and serve Him; I am a sacrifice to Him, 100,000 times. |

| ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਇਹੁ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਤਰਿਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਰੀਆ ॥੪॥੭॥੧੨੮॥ |
| jih prasaadh eihu bhoujal thariaa jan naanak pria sang mireeaa ||4||7||128|| |
| By His Grace, servant Nanak has crossed over this terrifying world-ocean; I am united with my Beloved. ||4||7||128|| |

| surag paeiaal mirath bhooa manddal sarab samaano eaekai ouhee || |
| In the heavenly paradise, in the nether regions of the underworld, on the planet earth and throughout the galaxies, the One Lord is pervading everywhere. |

| ਸਿਵ ਸਿਵ ਕਰਤ ਸਗਲ ਕਰ ਜੋਰਹਿ ਸਰਬ ਮਇਆ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਦੋਹੀ ॥੧॥ |
| siv siv karath sagal kar jorehi sarab maeiaa thaakur thaeree dhohee ||1|| |
| Everyone calls upon You with their palms pressed together, saying, ""Shiva, Shiva"". O Merciful Lord and Master, everyone cries out for Your Help. ||1|| |

| ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੁਮਰਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੀਤਲੋਹੀ ॥ |

| Your Name, O Lord and Master, is the Purifier of sinners, the Giver of peace, immaculate, cooling and soothing. |
