| santhasang har man vasai bharam mohu bho saadhheeai ||1|| rehaao || |
| In the Society of the Saints, He dwells in the mind; doubt, emotional attachment and fear are vanquished. ||1||Pause|| |

| The Vedas, the Puraanas and the Simritees are heard to proclaim |

| ਸਭ ਊਚ ਬਿਰਾਜਿਤ ਜਨ ਸੁਨੇ ॥੧॥ |

| that the Lord's servant dwells as the highest of all. ||1|| |

| All places are filled with fear - know this well. |

| ਰਾਮ ਸੇਵਕ ਭੈ ਰਹਤ ਕੀਨ ॥੨॥ |

| Only the Lord's servants are free of fear. ||2|| |

| ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਜੋਨਿ ਫਿਰਹਿ ॥ |

| People wander through 8.4 million incarnations. |

| ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਲੋਕ ਨਹੀ ਜਨਮਿ ਮਰਹਿ ॥੩॥ |
| gobindh lok nehee janam marehi ||3|| |
| God's people are not subject to birth and death. ||3|| |

| O my mind, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord's Name. |

| ਨੀਤ ਨੀਤ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵੀਐ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| neeth neeth har saeveeai saas saas har dhhiaaeeai ||1|| rehaao || |
| Serve the Lord continually and continuously; with each and every breath, meditate on the Lord. ||1||Pause|| |

| In the Society of the Saints, the Lord dwells in the mind, |

| ਦੁਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਅਨੇਰਾ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਨਸੈ ॥੧॥ |
| dhukh dharadh anaeraa bhram nasai ||1|| |
| and pain, suffering, darkness and doubt depart. ||1|| |

| ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪੀਐ ॥ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਦੂਖਿ ਨ ਵਿਆਪੀਐ ॥੨॥ |
| santh prasaadh har jaapeeai || so jan dhookh n viaapeeai ||2|| |
| That humble being, who meditates on the Lord, by the Grace of the Saints, is not afflicted with pain. ||2|| |

| ਜਾ ਕਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਦੇ ॥ |
| jaa ko gur har manthra dhae || |
| Those unto whom the Guru gives the Mantra of the Lord's Name |

| ਸੋ ਉਬਰਿਆ ਮਾਇਆ ਅਗਨਿ ਤੇ ॥੩॥ |
| so oubariaa maaeiaa agan thae ||3|| |
| are saved from the fire of Maya. ||3|| |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਇਆ ਕਰਿ ॥ |

| With your tongue, chant the Name of the One Lord. |

| ਈਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਘਨਾ ਆਗੈ ਜੀਅ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| eehaa sukh aanandh ghanaa aagai jeea kai sang kaam ||1|| rehaao || |
| In this world, it shall bring you peace, comfort and great joy; hereafter, it shall go with your soul, and shall be of use to you. ||1||Pause|| |

| The disease of your ego shall be eradicated. |

| ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |

| Those who have found the Lord, the Treasure of peace, |

| ਸੋ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਕਤ ਹੀ ਧਾਇਆ ॥੩॥ |

| shall not go anywhere else again. ||3|| |

| One who forgets the Lord's Name, suffers in pain. |

| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਵਹਿ ਸੇ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੀਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| saadhhasangath mil har ravehi sae gunee geheer ||1|| rehaao || |
| Those who join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and dwell upon the Lord, find the Ocean of virtue. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਜਾ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਬੁਧਿ ॥ |

| Those Gurmukhs whose hearts are filled with wisdom, |

| ਤਾ ਕੈ ਕਰ ਤਲ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ॥੧॥ |
| thaa kai kar thal nav nidhh sidhh ||1|| |
| hold the nine treasures, and the miraculous spiritual powers of the Siddhas in the palms of their hands. ||1|| |

| ਜੋ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਨੀ ॥ |
| jo jaanehi har prabh dhhanee || |
| Those who know the Lord God as their Master, |
|
| ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਕਮੀ ॥੨॥ |
| kishh naahee thaa kai kamee ||2|| |
| do not lack anything. ||2|| |
|
| ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੁ ਪਛਾਨਿਆ ॥ |
| karanaihaar pashhaaniaa || |
| Those who realize the Creator Lord, |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣਿਆ ॥੩॥ |
| sarab sookh rang maaniaa ||3|| |
| enjoy all peace and pleasure. ||3|| |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਵਸੈ ॥ |

| Those whose inner homes are filled with the Lord's wealth |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਨਸੈ ॥੪॥੯॥੧੪੭॥ |

| Your pride is so great, but what about your origins? |

| ਰਹਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਗਹੁ ਕਿਤਨੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| You cannot remain, no matter how much you try to hold on. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਬੇਬਰਜਤ ਬੇਦ ਸੰਤਨਾ ਉਆਹੂ ਸਿਉ ਰੇ ਹਿਤਨੋ ॥ |
| baebarajath baedh santhanaa ouaahoo sio rae hithano || |
| That which is forbidden by the Vedas and the Saints - with that, you are in love. |

| Like the gambler losing the game of chance, you are held in the power of sensory desires. ||1|| |

| ਹਰਨ ਭਰਨ ਸੰਪੂਰਨਾ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਿਤਨੋ ॥ |
| haran bharan sanpooranaa charan kamal rang rithano || |
| The One who is All-powerful to empty out and fill up - you have no love for His Lotus Feet. |
