| BHABHA: Cast out your doubt and delusion |

| ਇਆ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਸਗਲ ਹੈ ਸੁਪਨਾ ॥ |
| eiaa sansaar sagal hai supanaa || |
| this world is just a dream. |

| ਭਰਮੇ ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਾ ॥ |
| bharamae sur nar dhaevee dhaevaa || |
| The angelic beings, goddesses and gods are deluded by doubt. |
|
| ਭਰਮੇ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੇਵਾ ॥ |
| bharamae sidhh saadhhik brehamaevaa || |
| The Siddhas and seekers, and even Brahma are deluded by doubt. |
|
| ਭਰਮਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਡਹਕਾਏ ॥ |
| bharam bharam maanukh ddehakaaeae || |
| Wandering around, deluded by doubt, people are ruined. |
|
| ਦੁਤਰ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਖਮ ਇਹ ਮਾਏ ॥ |
| dhuthar mehaa bikham eih maaeae || |
| It is so very difficult and treacherous to cross over this ocean of Maya. |
|
| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੈ ਮੋਹ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥ |
| guramukh bhram bhai moh mittaaeiaa || |
| That Gurmukh who has eradicated doubt, fear and attachment, |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਹ ਪਰਮ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪੦॥ |
| naanak thaeh param sukh paaeiaa ||40|| |
| O Nanak, obtains supreme peace. ||40|| |

| ਮਾਇਆ ਡੋਲੈ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਪਟਿਓ ਤਿਹ ਸੰਗ ॥ |
| maaeiaa ddolai bahu bidhhee man lapattiou thih sang || |
| Maya clings to the mind, and causes it to waver in so many ways. |

| ਮਾਗਨ ਤੇ ਜਿਹ ਤੁਮ ਰਖਹੁ ਸੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਹਿ ਰੰਗ ॥੧॥ |
| maagan thae jih thum rakhahu s naanak naamehi rang ||1|| |
| When You, O Lord, restrain someone from asking for wealth, then, O Nanak, he comes to love the Name. ||1|| |

| mamaa maaganehaar eiaanaa || |
| MAMMA: The beggar is so ignorant |

| ਦੇਨਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਓ ਸੁਜਾਨਾ ॥ |
| dhaenehaar dhae rehiou sujaanaa || |
| the Great Giver continues to give. He is All-knowing. |
|
| ਜੋ ਦੀਨੋ ਸੋ ਏਕਹਿ ਬਾਰ ॥ |
| jo dheeno so eaekehi baar || |
| Whatever He gives, He gives once and for all. |
|
| ਮਨ ਮੂਰਖ ਕਹ ਕਰਹਿ ਪੁਕਾਰ ॥ |
| man moorakh keh karehi pukaar || |
| O foolish mind, why do you complain, and cry out so loud? |
|
| ਜਉ ਮਾਗਹਿ ਤਉ ਮਾਗਹਿ ਬੀਆ ॥ |
| jo maagehi tho maagehi beeaa || |
| Whenever you ask for something, you ask for worldly things; |
|
| ਜਾ ਤੇ ਕੁਸਲ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਥੀਆ ॥ |
| jaa thae kusal n kaahoo thheeaa || |
| no one has obtained happiness from these. |
|
| ਮਾਗਨਿ ਮਾਗ ਤ ਏਕਹਿ ਮਾਗ ॥ |
| maagan maag th eaekehi maag || |
| If you must ask for a gift, then ask for the One Lord. |

| math pooree paradhhaan thae gur poorae man manth || |
| Perfect is the intellect, and most distinguished is the reputation, of those whose minds are filled with the Mantra of the Perfect Guru. |

| ਜਿਹ ਜਾਨਿਓ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੁਨਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥੧॥ |
| jih jaaniou prabh aapunaa naanak thae bhagavanth ||1|| |
| Those who come to know their God, O Nanak, are very fortunate. ||1|| |

| MAMMA: Those who understand God's mystery are satisfied joining the Saadh Sangat the Company of the Holy. |

| ਦੁਖ ਸੁਖ ਉਆ ਕੈ ਸਮਤ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥ |
| dhukh sukh ouaa kai samath beechaaraa || |
| They look upon pleasure and pain as the same. |
|
| ਨਰਕ ਸੁਰਗ ਰਹਤ ਅਉਤਾਰਾ ॥ |
| narak surag rehath aouthaaraa || |
| They are exempt from incarnation into heaven or hell. |
|
| ਤਾਹੂ ਸੰਗ ਤਾਹੂ ਨਿਰਲੇਪਾ ॥ |
| thaahoo sang thaahoo niralaepaa || |
| They live in the world, and yet they are detached from it. |
|
| ਪੂਰਨ ਘਟ ਘਟ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਿਸੇਖਾ ॥ |
| pooran ghatt ghatt purakh bisaekhaa || |
| The Sublime Lord, the Primal Being, is totally pervading each and every heart. |
|
| ਉਆ ਰਸ ਮਹਿ ਉਆਹੂ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| ouaa ras mehi ouaahoo sukh paaeiaa || |
| In His Love, they find peace. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਲਿਪਤ ਨਹੀ ਤਿਹ ਮਾਇਆ ॥੪੨॥ |

| O Nanak, Maya does not cling to them at all. ||42|| |

| yaar meeth sun saajanahu bin har shhoottan naahi || |
| Listen, my dear friends and companions: without the Lord, there is no salvation. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਹ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਟੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਚਰਨੀ ਪਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ |
| naanak thih bandhhan kattae gur kee charanee paahi ||1|| |
| O Nanak, one who falls at the Feet of the Guru, has his bonds cut away. ||1|| |

| YAYYA: People try all sorts of things, |
|
| ਏਕ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਹ ਲਉ ਸਿਧੀਆ ॥ |
| eaek naam bin keh lo sidhheeaa || |
| but without the One Name, how far can they succeed? |
|
| ਯਾਹੂ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਿ ਹੋਤ ਛੁਟਾਰਾ ॥ |
| yaahoo jathan kar hoth shhuttaaraa || |
| Those efforts, by which emancipation may be attained |
|
| ਉਆਹੂ ਜਤਨ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਾਰਾ ॥ |
| ouaahoo jathan saadhh sangaaraa || |
| those efforts are made in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. |
|
| ਯਾ ਉਬਰਨ ਧਾਰੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਊ ॥ |
| yaa oubaran dhhaarai sabh kooo || |
| Everyone has this idea of salvation, |
|
| ਉਆਹਿ ਜਪੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਉਬਰ ਨ ਹੋਊ ॥ |
| ouaahi japae bin oubar n hooo || |
| but without meditation, there can be no salvation. |
|
| ਯਾਹੂ ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਸਮਰਾਥਾ ॥ |
| yaahoo tharan thaaran samaraathhaa || |
| The All-powerful Lord is the boat to carry us across. |
|
| ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਨਰਨਾਥਾ ॥ |
| raakh laehu niragun naranaathhaa || |
| O Lord, please save these worthless beings! |
|
| ਮਨ ਬਚ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਜਿਹ ਆਪਿ ਜਨਾਈ ॥ |
| man bach kram jih aap janaaee || |
| Those whom the Lord Himself instructs in thought, word and deed |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਹ ਮਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੀ ਆਈ ॥੪੩॥ |

| - O Nanak, their intellect is enlightened. ||43|| |

| Do not be angry with anyone else; look within your own self instead. |

| hoe nimaanaa jag rehahu naanak nadharee paar ||1|| |
| Be humble in this world, O Nanak, and by His Grace you shall be carried across. ||1|| |

| thaj abhimaan shhuttai thaeree baakee || |
| Give up your egotistical pride, and the balance of your account shall be written off. |
