| ਸਿਮਰਉ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਉ ॥ |
| simaro simar simar sukh paavo || |
| Meditate, meditate, meditate in remembrance of Him, and find peace. |

| ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਤਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਮਿਟਾਵਉ ॥ |
| kal kalaes than maahi mittaavo || |
| Worry and anguish shall be dispelled from your body. |
|
| ਸਿਮਰਉ ਜਾਸੁ ਬਿਸੁੰਭਰ ਏਕੈ ॥ |
| simaro jaas bisunbhar eaekai || |
| Remember in praise the One who pervades the whole Universe. |
|
| ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਅਗਨਤ ਅਨੇਕੈ ॥ |
| naam japath aganath anaekai || |
| His Name is chanted by countless people, in so many ways. |
|
| ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸੁਧਾਖ੍ਯ੍ਯਰ ॥ |
| baedh puraan sinmrith sudhhaakhyar || |
| The Vedas, the Puraanas and the Simritees, the purest of utterances, |
|
| ਕੀਨੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਇਕ ਆਖ੍ਯ੍ਯਰ ॥ |
| keenae raam naam eik aakhyar || |
| were created from the One Word of the Name of the Lord. |
|
| ਕਿਨਕਾ ਏਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਜੀਅ ਬਸਾਵੈ ॥ |
| kinakaa eaek jis jeea basaavai || |
| That one, in whose soul the One Lord dwells |
|
| ਤਾ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਗਨੀ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥ |
| thaa kee mehimaa ganee n aavai || |
| the praises of his glory cannot be recounted. |
|
| ਕਾਂਖੀ ਏਕੈ ਦਰਸ ਤੁਹਾਰੋ ॥ |
| kaankhee eaekai dharas thuhaaro || |
| Those who yearn only for the blessing of Your Darshan |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਉਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਉਧਾਰੋ ॥੧॥ |

| Remembering God, one does not have to enter into the womb again. |

| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਜਮੁ ਨਸੈ ॥ |

| Remembering God, the pain of death is dispelled. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕਾਲੁ ਪਰਹਰੈ ॥ |

| Remembering God, death is eliminated. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦੁਸਮਨੁ ਟਰੈ ॥ |

| Remembering God, one's enemies are repelled. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਕਛੁ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥ |

| Remembering God, no obstacles are met. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗੈ ॥ |

| Remembering God, one remains awake and aware, night and day. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਭਉ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ॥ |

| Remembering God, one is not touched by fear. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਸੰਤਾਪੈ ॥ |

| Remembering God, one does not suffer sorrow. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥ |

| The meditative remembrance of God is in the Company of the Holy. |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੨॥ |
| sarab nidhhaan naanak har rang ||2|| |
| All treasures, O Nanak, are in the Love of the Lord. ||2|| |

| In the remembrance of God are wealth, miraculous spiritual powers and the nine treasures. |

| In the remembrance of God are chanting, intense meditation and devotional worship. |

| In the remembrance of God, duality is removed. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਇਸਨਾਨੀ ॥ |

| In the remembrance of God are purifying baths at sacred shrines of pilgrimage. |

| In the remembrance of God, one attains honor in the Court of the Lord. |

| In the remembrance of God, one becomes good. |

| In the remembrance of God, many are saved. |

| In the remembrance of God, thirst is quenched. |

| The Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord, is absorbed into the heart. |

| God abides upon the tongues of His Saints. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਕਾ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਸਨਾ ॥੪॥ |

| Nanak is the servant of the slave of His slaves. ||4|| |

|

| Those who remember God are the most distinguished persons. |
