| ਸਾਧ ਊਪਰਿ ਜਾਈਐ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ॥ |
| saadhh oopar jaaeeai kurabaan || |
| To the Holy, make your life a sacrifice. |

| ਸਾਧ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ |
| saadhh saevaa vaddabhaagee paaeeai || |
| Service to the Holy is obtained by great good fortune. |

| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਈਐ ॥ |
| saadhhasang har keerathan gaaeeai || |
| In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the Kirtan of the Lord's Praise is sung. |
|
| ਅਨਿਕ ਬਿਘਨ ਤੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਰਾਖੈ ॥ |
| anik bighan thae saadhhoo raakhai || |
| From all sorts of dangers, the Saint saves us. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੈ ॥ |
| har gun gaae anmrith ras chaakhai || |
| Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, we taste the ambrosial essence. |
|
| ਓਟ ਗਹੀ ਸੰਤਹ ਦਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥ |
| outt gehee santheh dhar aaeiaa || |
| Seeking the Protection of the Saints, we have come to their door. |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਹ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੬॥ |
| sarab sookh naanak thih paaeiaa ||6|| |
| All comforts, O Nanak, are so obtained. ||6|| |
|
| ਮਿਰਤਕ ਕਉ ਜੀਵਾਲਨਹਾਰ ॥ |
| mirathak ko jeevaalanehaar || |
| He infuses life back into the dead. |
|
| ਭੂਖੇ ਕਉ ਦੇਵਤ ਅਧਾਰ ॥ |
| bhookhae ko dhaevath adhhaar || |
| He gives food to the hungry. |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੀ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ |
| sarab nidhhaan jaa kee dhrisattee maahi || |
| All treasures are within His Glance of Grace. |
|
| ਪੁਰਬ ਲਿਖੇ ਕਾ ਲਹਣਾ ਪਾਹਿ ॥ |
| purab likhae kaa lehanaa paahi || |
| People obtain that which they are pre-ordained to receive. |
|
| ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਓਹੁ ਕਰਨੈ ਜੋਗੁ ॥ |
| sabh kishh this kaa ouhu karanai jog || |
| All things are His; He is the Doer of all. |
|
| ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਸਰ ਹੋਆ ਨ ਹੋਗੁ ॥ |
| this bin dhoosar hoaa n hog || |
| Other than Him, there has never been any other, and there shall never be. |
|
| ਜਪਿ ਜਨ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਣੀ ॥ |
| jap jan sadhaa sadhaa dhin rainee || |
| Meditate on Him forever and ever, day and night. |
|
| ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਇਹ ਕਰਣੀ ॥ |
| sabh thae ooch niramal eih karanee || |
| This way of life is exalted and immaculate. |
|
| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਆ ॥ |
| kar kirapaa jis ko naam dheeaa || |
| One whom the Lord, in His Grace, blesses with His Name |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਥੀਆ ॥੭॥ |
| naanak so jan niramal thheeaa ||7|| |
| - O Nanak, that person becomes immaculate and pure. ||7|| |
|
| ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ॥ |
| jaa kai man gur kee paratheeth || |
| One who has faith in the Guru in his mind |
|
| ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਆਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਚੀਤਿ ॥ |
| this jan aavai har prabh cheeth || |
| comes to dwell upon the Lord God. |
|
| ਭਗਤੁ ਭਗਤੁ ਸੁਨੀਐ ਤਿਹੁ ਲੋਇ ॥ |
| bhagath bhagath suneeai thihu loe || |
| He is acclaimed as a devotee, a humble devotee throughout the three worlds. |
|
| ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਏਕੋ ਹੋਇ ॥ |
| jaa kai hiradhai eaeko hoe || |
| The One Lord is in his heart. |
|
| ਸਚੁ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਚੁ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਰਹਤ ॥ |
| sach karanee sach thaa kee rehath || |
| True are his actions; true are his ways. |
|
| ਸਚੁ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਤਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਕਹਤ ॥ |
| sach hiradhai sath mukh kehath || |
| True is his heart; Truth is what he speaks with his mouth. |
|
| ਸਾਚੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਆਕਾਰੁ ॥ |
| saachee dhrisatt saachaa aakaar || |
| True is his vision; true is his form. |
|
| ਸਚੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਾਚਾ ਪਾਸਾਰੁ ॥ |
| sach varathai saachaa paasaar || |
| He distributes Truth and he spreads Truth. |
|
| ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਚੁ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਤਾ ॥ |
| paarabreham jin sach kar jaathaa || |
| One who recognizes the Supreme Lord God as True |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਤਾ ॥੮॥੧੫॥ |

| - O Nanak, that humble being is absorbed into the True One. ||8||15|| |

| roop n raekh n rang kishh thrihu gun thae prabh bhinn || |
| He has no form, no shape, no color; God is beyond the three qualities. |

| ਤਿਸਹਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ॥੧॥ |

| ਮਾਨੁਖ ਕੀ ਤੂ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਤਿਆਗੁ ॥ |

| Renounce your love and attachment to people. |
|
| ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਪਰੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
| this thae parai naahee kishh koe || |
| Beyond Him, there is nothing at all. |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਸੋਇ ॥ |

| The One Lord is pervading among all. |
|
| ਆਪੇ ਬੀਨਾ ਆਪੇ ਦਾਨਾ ॥ |
| aapae beenaa aapae dhaanaa || |
| He Himself is All-seeing; He Himself is All-knowing, |
|
| ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰੁ ਗਹੀਰੁ ਸੁਜਾਨਾ ॥ |
| gehir ganbheer geheer sujaanaa || |
| Unfathomable, Profound, Deep and All-knowing. |
|
| ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥ |

| He is the Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord, the Lord of the Universe, |
|
| ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਬਖਸੰਦ ॥ |
| kirapaa nidhhaan dhaeiaal bakhasandh || |
| the Treasure of mercy, compassion and forgiveness. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਇਹੁ ਅਨਰਾਉ ॥੧॥ |
| naanak kai man eihu anaraao ||1|| |
| - this is the longing of Nanak's mind. ||1|| |

| ਮਨਸਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਰਨਾ ਜੋਗ ॥ |
| manasaa pooran saranaa jog || |
| He is the Fulfiller of wishes, who can give us Sanctuary; |
|
| ਜੋ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੋਈ ਹੋਗੁ ॥ |
| jo kar paaeiaa soee hog || |
| that which He has written, comes to pass. |
|
| ਹਰਨ ਭਰਨ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਫੋਰੁ ॥ |
| haran bharan jaa kaa naethr for || |
| He destroys and creates in the twinkling of an eye. |
|
| ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਨੈ ਹੋਰੁ ॥ |
| this kaa manthra n jaanai hor || |
| No one else knows the mystery of His ways. |
|
| ਅਨਦ ਰੂਪ ਮੰਗਲ ਸਦ ਜਾ ਕੈ ॥ |
| anadh roop mangal sadh jaa kai || |
| He is the embodiment of ecstasy and everlasting joy. |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਥੋਕ ਸੁਨੀਅਹਿ ਘਰਿ ਤਾ ਕੈ ॥ |
| sarab thhok suneeahi ghar thaa kai || |
| I have heard that all things are in His home. |
|
| ਰਾਜ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਜੁ ਜੋਗ ਮਹਿ ਜੋਗੀ ॥ |
| raaj mehi raaj jog mehi jogee || |
| Among kings, He is the King; among yogis, He is the Yogi. |
|
| ਤਪ ਮਹਿ ਤਪੀਸਰੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤ ਮਹਿ ਭੋਗੀ ॥ |
| thap mehi thapeesar grihasath mehi bhogee || |
| Among ascetics, He is the Ascetic; among householders, He is the Enjoyer. |

| ਧਿਆਇ ਧਿਆਇ ਭਗਤਹ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| dhhiaae dhhiaae bhagatheh sukh paaeiaa || |
| By constant meditation, His devotee finds peace. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਾ ਕਿਨੈ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ |

| O Nanak, no one has found the limits of that Supreme Being. ||2|| |
