| ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥ |
| bhagath karehi har kae gun gaae || |
| They perform His devotional service and sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. |

| ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਿਸ੍ਵਾਸੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥ |
| man anthar bisvaas kar maaniaa || |
| With heart-felt faith, they believe in Him. |
|
| ਕਰਨਹਾਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਕੁ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥੩॥ |
| karanehaar naanak eik jaaniaa ||3|| |
| O Nanak, they realize the One, the Creator Lord. ||3|| |

| ਜਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੈ ਨਾਇ ॥ |
| jan laagaa har eaekai naae || |
| The Lord's humble servant is committed to His Name. |
|
| ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਆਸ ਨ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| this kee aas n birathhee jaae || |
| His hopes do not go in vain. |
|
| ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਸੇਵਾ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥ |
| saevak ko saevaa ban aaee || |
| The servant's purpose is to serve; |
|
| ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੂਝਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਈ ॥ |
| hukam boojh param padh paaee || |
| obeying the Lord's Command, the supreme status is obtained. |
|
| ਇਸ ਤੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਨਹੀ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ |
| eis thae oopar nehee beechaar || |
| Beyond this, he has no other thought. |
|
| ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਬਸਿਆ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ॥ |
| jaa kai man basiaa nirankaar || |
| Within his mind, the Formless Lord abides. |
|
| ਬੰਧਨ ਤੋਰਿ ਭਏ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ॥ |
| bandhhan thor bheae niravair || |
| His bonds are cut away, and he becomes free of hatred. |
|
| ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਪੂਜਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਪੈਰ ॥ |
| anadhin poojehi gur kae pair || |
| Night and day, he worships the Feet of the Guru. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਹਿ ਮੇਲੇ ॥੪॥ |

| O Nanak, the Lord God unites him with Himself. ||4|| |

| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਅਨੰਦ ॥ |
| saadhhasang mil karahu anandh || |
| Join the Company of the Holy, and be happy. |
|
| ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦ ॥ |
| gun gaavahu prabh paramaanandh || |
| Sing the Glories of God, the embodiment of supreme bliss. |
|
| ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਤਤੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ |
| raam naam thath karahu beechaar || |
| Contemplate the essence of the Lord's Name. |
|
| ਦ੍ਰੁਲਭ ਦੇਹ ਕਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਉਧਾਰੁ ॥ |
| dhraalabh dhaeh kaa karahu oudhhaar || |
| Redeem this human body, so difficult to obtain. |
|
| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਚਨ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਉ ॥ |
| anmrith bachan har kae gun gaao || |
| Sing the Ambrosial Words of the Lord's Glorious Praises; |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਤਰਨ ਕਾ ਇਹੈ ਸੁਆਉ ॥ |
| praan tharan kaa eihai suaao || |
| this is the way to save your mortal soul. |
|
| ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੇਖਹੁ ਨੇਰਾ ॥ |
| aath pehar prabh paekhahu naeraa || |
| Behold God near at hand, twenty-four hours a day. |
|
| ਮਿਟੈ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ॥ |
| mittai agiaan binasai andhhaeraa || |
| Ignorance shall depart, and darkness shall be dispelled. |
|
| ਸੁਨਿ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਬਸਾਵਹੁ ॥ |
| sun oupadhaes hiradhai basaavahu || |
| Listen to the Teachings, and enshrine them in your heart. |
|
| ਮਨ ਇਛੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਫਲ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥੫॥ |
| man eishhae naanak fal paavahu ||5|| |
| O Nanak, you shall obtain the fruits of your mind's desires. ||5|| |
|
| ਹਲਤੁ ਪਲਤੁ ਦੁਇ ਲੇਹੁ ਸਵਾਰਿ ॥ |
| halath palath dhue laehu savaar || |
| Embellish both this world and the next; |
|
| ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ |
| raam naam anthar our dhhaar || |
| enshrine the Lord's Name deep within your heart. |
|
| ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਦੀਖਿਆ ॥ |
| poorae gur kee pooree dheekhiaa || |
| Perfect are the Teachings of the Perfect Guru. |
|
| ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਬਸੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਪਰੀਖਿਆ ॥ |
| jis man basai this saach pareekhiaa || |
| That person, within whose mind it abides, realizes the Truth. |
|
| ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ |
| man than naam japahu liv laae || |
| With your mind and body, chant the Naam; lovingly attune yourself to it. |
|
| ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਭਉ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| dhookh dharadh man thae bho jaae || |
| Sorrow, pain and fear shall depart from your mind. |
|
| ਸਚੁ ਵਾਪਾਰੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ॥ |
| sach vaapaar karahu vaapaaree || |
| Deal in the true trade, O trader, |
|
| ਦਰਗਹ ਨਿਬਹੈ ਖੇਪ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥ |
| dharageh nibehai khaep thumaaree || |
| and your merchandise shall be safe in the Court of the Lord. |
|
| ਏਕਾ ਟੇਕ ਰਖਹੁ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ |
| eaekaa ttaek rakhahu man maahi || |
| Keep the Support of the One in your mind. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੬॥ |
| naanak bahur n aavehi jaahi ||6|| |
| O Nanak, you shall not have to come and go in reincarnation again. ||6|| |

| ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਹਾ ਕੋ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| this thae dhoor kehaa ko jaae || |
| Where can anyone go, to get away from Him? |
|
| ਉਬਰੈ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥ |
| oubarai raakhanehaar dhhiaae || |
| Meditating on the Protector Lord, you shall be saved. |
|
| ਨਿਰਭਉ ਜਪੈ ਸਗਲ ਭਉ ਮਿਟੈ ॥ |
| nirabho japai sagal bho mittai || |
| Meditating on the Fearless Lord, all fear departs. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਛੁਟੈ ॥ |
| prabh kirapaa thae praanee shhuttai || |
| By God's Grace, mortals are released. |
|
| ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਾਖੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਦੂਖ ॥ |
| jis prabh raakhai this naahee dhookh || |
| One who is protected by God never suffers in pain. |
|
| ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਵਤ ਸੂਖ ॥ |
| naam japath man hovath sookh || |
| Chanting the Naam, the mind becomes peaceful. |
|
| ਚਿੰਤਾ ਜਾਇ ਮਿਟੈ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ॥ |
| chinthaa jaae mittai ahankaar || |
| Anxiety departs, and ego is eliminated. |
|
| ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਪਹੁਚਨਹਾਰੁ ॥ |
| this jan ko koe n pahuchanehaar || |
| No one can equal that humble servant. |
|
| ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਠਾਢਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੂਰਾ ॥ |
| sir oopar thaadtaa gur sooraa || |
| The Brave and Powerful Guru stands over his head. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਪੂਰਾ ॥੭॥ |

| O Nanak, his efforts are fulfilled. ||7|| |

| ਮਤਿ ਪੂਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ॥ |

| His wisdom is perfect, and His Glance is Ambrosial. |

| ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪੇਖਤ ਉਧਰਤ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ॥ |
| dharasan paekhath oudhharath srisatt || |
| Beholding His Vision, the universe is saved. |
|
| ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਅਨੂਪ ॥ |
| charan kamal jaa kae anoop || |
| His Lotus Feet are incomparably beautiful. |
|
| ਸਫਲ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹਰਿ ਰੂਪ ॥ |
| safal dharasan sundhar har roop || |
| The Blessed Vision of His Darshan is fruitful and rewarding; His Lordly Form is beautiful. |
|
| ਧੰਨੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥ |
| dhhann saevaa saevak paravaan || |
| Blessed is His service; His servant is famous. |
|
| ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨੁ ॥ |
| antharajaamee purakh pradhhaan || |
| The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, is the most exalted Supreme Being. |
|
| ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਬਸੈ ਸੁ ਹੋਤ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ॥ |

| That one, within whose mind He abides, is blissfully happy. |

| ਤਾ ਕੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਆਵਤ ਕਾਲੁ ॥ |

| Death does not draw near him. |
