| ਗੁਹਜ ਰਤਨ ਵਿਚਿ ਲੁਕਿ ਰਹੇ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਕਢੈ ਖੋਤਿ ॥ |
| guhaj rathan vich luk rehae koee guramukh saevak kadtai khoth || |
| Hidden within it are the jewels of mystery; how rare is that Gurmukh, that selfless servant, who digs them out. |

| ਸਭੁ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਇਕੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਇਕੋ ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ॥ |
| sabh aatham raam pashhaaniaa thaan eik raviaa eiko outh poth || |
| When someone realizes the All-pervading Soul, then he sees the One and Only Lord permeating, through and through. |

| ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਤੂ ਸਚੁ ਸਚੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੋਤਿ ॥੧੬॥ |

| O servant Nanak, praise the Naam, the Name of the Lord; this is your service to the Lord, the Truest of the True. ||16|| |

| ਸਭਿ ਰਸ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਹਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ |
| sabh ras thin kai ridhai hehi jin har vasiaa man maahi || |
| All joy is in the hearts of those, within whose minds the Lord abides. |

| ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਸਭਿ ਦੇਖਣ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ |
| har dharagehi thae mukh oujalae thin ko sabh dhaekhan jaahi || |
| In the Court of the Lord, their faces are radiant, and everyone goes to see them. |

| ਜਿਨ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਭਉ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ |
| jin nirabho naam dhhiaaeiaa thin ko bho koee naahi || |
| Those who meditate on the Name of the Fearless Lord have no fear. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਉਤਮੁ ਤਿਨੀ ਸਰੇਵਿਆ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਆਹਿ ॥ |
| har outham thinee saraeviaa jin ko dhhur likhiaa aahi || |
| Those who have such pre-destined destiny remember the Sublime Lord. |
|
| ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਪੈਨਾਈਅਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਵੁਠਾ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ |
| thae har dharagehi painaaeeahi jin har vuthaa man maahi || |
| Those, within whose minds the Lord abides, are robed with honor in the Court of the Lord. |
|
| ਓਇ ਆਪਿ ਤਰੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਸਿਉ ਤਿਨ ਪਿਛੈ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਛਡਾਹਿ ॥ |
| oue aap tharae sabh kuttanb sio thin pishhai sabh jagath shhaddaahi || |
| They are carried across, along with all their family, and the whole world is saved along with them. |

| ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਜਨ ਤਿਨ ਵੇਖਿ ਵੇਖਿ ਹਮ ਜੀਵਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ |

| O Lord, please unite servant Nanak with Your humble servants; beholding them, beholding them, I live. ||1|| |

| saa dhharathee bhee hareeaavalee jithhai maeraa sathigur baithaa aae || |
| That land, where my True Guru comes and sits, becomes green and fertile. |

| ਸੇ ਜੰਤ ਭਏ ਹਰੀਆਵਲੇ ਜਿਨੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| sae janth bheae hareeaavalae jinee maeraa sathigur dhaekhiaa jaae || |
| Those beings who go and behold my True Guru are rejuvenated. |

| ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਕੁਲੁ ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸੁ ਜਨਨੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਣਿਆ ਮਾਇ ॥ |
| dhhan dhhann pithaa dhhan dhhann kul dhhan dhhan s jananee jin guroo janiaa maae || |
| Blessed, blessed is the father; blessed, blessed is the family; blessed, blessed is the mother, who gave birth to the Guru. |

| ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ਆਪਿ ਤਰਿਆ ਜਿਨੀ ਡਿਠਾ ਤਿਨਾ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਇ ॥ |
| dhhan dhhann guroo jin naam araadhhiaa aap thariaa jinee ddithaa thinaa leae shhaddaae || |
| Blessed, blessed is the Guru, who worships and adores the Naam; He saves Himself, and emancipates those who see Him. |

| O Lord, be kind, and unite me with the True Guru, that servant Nanak may wash His feet. ||2|| |

| Truest of the True is the Immortal True Guru; He has enshrined the Lord deep within His heart. |

| ਸਚੁ ਸਚਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਬਿਖੁ ਮਾਰਿਆ ॥ |
| sach sachaa sathigur purakh hai jin kaam krodhh bikh maariaa || |
| Truest of the True is the True Guru, the Primal Being, who has conquered sexual desire, anger and corruption. |

| ਜਾ ਡਿਠਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤਾਂ ਅੰਦਰਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਸਾਧਾਰਿਆ ॥ |
| jaa ddithaa pooraa sathiguroo thaan andharahu man saadhhaariaa || |
| When I see the Perfect True Guru, then deep within, my mind is comforted and consoled. |

| ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਘੁਮਿ ਵਾਰਿਆ ॥ |
| balihaaree gur aapanae sadhaa sadhaa ghum vaariaa || |
| I am a sacrifice to my True Guru; I am devoted and dedicated to Him, forever and ever. |

| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਿਤਾ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਹਾਰਿਆ ॥੧੭॥ |
| guramukh jithaa manamukh haariaa ||17|| |
| A Gurmukh wins the battle of life whereas a self-willed manmukh loses it. ||17|| |

| kar kirapaa sathigur maelioun mukh guramukh naam dhhiaaeisee || |
| By His Grace He leads us to meet the True Guru; then as Gurmukh, we chant the Lord's Name, and meditate on it. |

| ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਜਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਵਸੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਘਰੀ ਵਸਾਇਸੀ ॥ |
| so karae j sathigur bhaavasee gur pooraa gharee vasaaeisee || |
| We do that which pleases the True Guru; the Perfect Guru comes to dwell in the home of the heart. |

| ਜਿਨ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਭਉ ਸਭੁ ਗਵਾਇਸੀ ॥ |
| jin andhar naam nidhhaan hai thin kaa bho sabh gavaaeisee || |
| Those who have the treasure of the Naam deep within - all their fears are removed. |
|
| ਜਿਨ ਰਖਣ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਹੋਇ ਹੋਰ ਕੇਤੀ ਝਖਿ ਝਖਿ ਜਾਇਸੀ ॥ |
| jin rakhan ko har aap hoe hor kaethee jhakh jhakh jaaeisee || |
| They are protected by the Lord Himself; others struggle and fight against them, but they only come to death. |
|
| ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਤੂ ਹਰਿ ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਛੋਡਾਇਸੀ ॥੧॥ |

| O servant Nanak, meditate on the Naam; the Lord shall deliver you, here and hereafter. ||1|| |

| The glorious greatness of the Guru the True Guru is pleasing to the GurSikh's mind. |

| ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਪੈਜ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੀ ਨਿਤ ਚੜੈ ਸਵਾਈ ॥ |
| har raakhahu paij sathiguroo kee nith charrai savaaee || |
| The Lord preserves the honor of the True Guru, which increases day by day. |

| ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਹੈ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਛਡਾਈ ॥ |
| gur sathigur kai man paarabreham hai paarabreham shhaddaaee || |
| The Supreme Lord God is in the Mind of the Guru, the True Guru; the Supreme Lord God saves Him. |

| ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤਾਣੁ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਭ ਆਣਿ ਨਿਵਾਈ ॥ |
| gur sathigur thaan dheebaan har thin sabh aan nivaaee || |
| The Lord is the Power and Support of the Guru, the True Guru; all come to bow before Him. |

| ਜਿਨੀ ਡਿਠਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭਾਉ ਕਰਿ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਪਾਪ ਗਵਾਈ ॥ |
| jinee ddithaa maeraa sathigur bhaao kar thin kae sabh paap gavaaee || |
| Those who have gazed lovingly upon my True Guru - all their sins are taken away. |

| ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ਬਹੁ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਈ ॥ |
| har dharageh thae mukh oujalae bahu sobhaa paaee || |
| Their faces are radiant in the Court of the Lord, and they obtain great glory. |

| ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਧੂੜਿ ਤਿਨ ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਸਿਖ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥੨॥ |
| jan naanak mangai dhhoorr thin jo gur kae sikh maerae bhaaee ||2|| |
| Servant Nanak begs for the dust of the feet of those GurSikhs, O my Siblings of Destiny. ||2|| |

| I chant the Praises and Glories of the True One. True is the glorious greatness of the True Lord. |

| ਸਚੁ ਸਚਾ ਰਸੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਚਖਿਆ ਸੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਰਹੇ ਆਘਾਈ ॥ |
| sach sachaa ras jinee chakhiaa sae thripath rehae aaghaaee || |
| Those who have tasted the true essence of the True Lord, remain satisfied and fulfilled. |
|
| ਇਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਸੇਈ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਜਿਉ ਗੂੰਗੈ ਮਿਠਿਆਈ ਖਾਈ ॥ |
| eihu har ras saeee jaanadhae jio goongai mithiaaee khaaee || |
| They know this essence of the Lord, but they say nothing, like the mute who tastes the sweet candy, and says nothing. |

| ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਵਜੀ ਵਾਧਾਈ ॥੧੮॥ |
| gur poorai har prabh saeviaa man vajee vaadhhaaee ||18|| |
| The Perfect Guru serves the Lord God; His vibration vibrates and resounds in the mind. ||18|| |

| Those who have a festering boil within - they alone know its pain. |

| ਹਰਿ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਸੇਈ ਬਿਰਹੁ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਸਦ ਘੁਮਿ ਘੋਲੀਆ ॥ |
| har jaanehi saeee birahu ho thin vittahu sadh ghum gholeeaa || |
| Those who know the pain of separation from the Lord - I am forever a sacrifice, a sacrifice to them. |

| ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਸਜਣੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਿਰੁ ਤਿਨ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਤਲ ਰੋਲੀਆ ॥ |
| har maelahu sajan purakh maeraa sir thin vittahu thal roleeaa || |
| O Lord, please lead me to meet the Guru, the Primal Being, my Friend; my head shall roll in the dust under His feet. |

| ਜੋ ਸਿਖ ਗੁਰ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਹਉ ਗੁਲਮੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਕਾ ਗੋਲੀਆ ॥ |
| jo sikh gur kaar kamaavehi ho gulam thinaa kaa goleeaa || |
| I am the slave of the slaves of those GurSikhs who serve Him. |

| ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਚਲੂਲੈ ਜੋ ਰਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਭਿਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਚੋਲੀਆ ॥ |
| har rang chaloolai jo rathae thin bhinee har rang choleeaa || |
| Those who are imbued with the deep crimson color of the Lord's Love - their robes are drenched in the Love of the Lord. |

| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਲਿ ਗੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਸਿਰੁ ਵੇਚਿਆ ਮੋਲੀਆ ॥੧॥ |
