| I chant with my tongue and meditate on the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord. |

| ਅਮੋਲ ਦਾਸੁ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਨੋ ਅਪਨਾ ॥੧॥ |
| amol dhaas kar leeno apanaa ||1|| |
| He has made me his own slave. ||1|| |
|
| ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀਨੋ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੁ ॥ |
| sathigur keeno paroupakaar || |
| The True Guru has blessed me with His generosity. |
|
| ਕਾਢਿ ਲੀਨ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ॥ |
| kaadt leen saagar sansaar || |
| He has lifted me up, out of the world-ocean. |
|
| ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥ |
| charan kamal sio laagee preeth || |
| I have fallen in love with His Lotus Feet. |
|
| ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਬਸੈ ਨਿਤਾ ਨਿਤ ਚੀਤ ॥੨॥ |
| gobindh basai nithaa nith cheeth ||2|| |
| The Lord of the Universe dwells continually within my consciousness. ||2|| |
|
| ਮਾਇਆ ਤਪਤਿ ਬੁਝਿਆ ਅੰਗਿਆਰੁ ॥ |
| maaeiaa thapath bujhiaa angiaar || |
| The burning fire of Maya has been extinguished. |
|
| ਮਨਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥ |
| man santhokh naam aadhhaar || |
| My mind is contented with the Support of the Naam. |
|
| ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥ |
| jal thhal poor rehae prabh suaamee || |
| God, the Lord and Master, is totally permeating the water and the land. |
|
| ਜਤ ਪੇਖਉ ਤਤ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੩॥ |
| jath paekho thath antharajaamee ||3|| |
| Wherever I look, there is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||3|| |
|
| ਅਪਨੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਈ ॥ |
| apanee bhagath aap hee dhrirraaee || |
| He Himself has implanted His devotional worship within me. |

| ਪੂਰਬ ਲਿਖਤੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥ |
| poorab likhath miliaa maerae bhaaee || |
| By pre-ordained destiny, one meets Him, O my Siblings of Destiny. |

| ਜਿਸੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਾਜ ॥ |

| When He grants His Grace, one is perfectly fulfilled. |

| ਕਬੀਰ ਕੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਗਰੀਬ ਨਿਵਾਜ ॥੪॥੪੦॥ |

| Kabeer's Lord and Master is the Cherisher of the poor. ||4||40|| |

| ਜਲਿ ਹੈ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਥਲਿ ਹੈ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਸੂਤਕ ਓਪਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥ |

| There is pollution in the water, and pollution on the land; whatever is born is polluted. |

| ਜਨਮੇ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਮੂਏ ਫੁਨਿ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਸੂਤਕ ਪਰਜ ਬਿਗੋਈ ॥੧॥ |
| janamae soothak mooeae fun soothak soothak paraj bigoee ||1|| |
| There is pollution in birth, and more pollution in death; all beings are ruined by pollution. ||1|| |

| ਕਹੁ ਰੇ ਪੰਡੀਆ ਕਉਨ ਪਵੀਤਾ ॥ |
| kahu rae panddeeaa koun paveethaa || |
| Tell me, O Pandit, O religious scholar: who is clean and pure? |

| ਐਸਾ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| There is pollution in the eyes, and pollution in speech; there is pollution in the ears as well. |

| ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਪਰੈ ਰਸੋਈ ॥੨॥ |
| oothath baithath soothak laagai soothak parai rasoee ||2|| |
| Standing up and sitting down, one is polluted; one's kitchen is polluted as well. ||2|| |
|
| ਫਾਸਨ ਕੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਊ ਜਾਨੈ ਛੂਟਨ ਕੀ ਇਕੁ ਕੋਈ ॥ |
| faasan kee bidhh sabh kooo jaanai shhoottan kee eik koee || |
| Everyone knows how to be caught, but hardly anyone knows how to escape. |

| ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਿਚਾਰੈ ਸੂਤਕੁ ਤਿਨੈ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੩॥੪੧॥ |
| kehi kabeer raam ridhai bichaarai soothak thinai n hoee ||3||41|| |
| Says Kabeer, those who meditate on the Lord within their hearts, are not polluted. ||3||41|| |

| eihu man baddaa k jaa so man maaniaa || |
| Is this mind greater, or the One to whom the mind is attuned? |

| ਰਾਮੁ ਬਡਾ ਕੈ ਰਾਮਹਿ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥੧॥ |

| Is the Lord greater, or one who knows the Lord? ||1|| |
|
| ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਡਾ ਕਿ ਜਾਸੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| brehamaa baddaa k jaas oupaaeiaa || |
| Is Brahma greater, or the One who created Him? |
|
| ਬੇਦੁ ਬਡਾ ਕਿ ਜਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥ |
| baedh baddaa k jehaan thae aaeiaa ||2|| |
| Are the Vedas greater, or the One from which they came? ||2|| |
|
| ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਹਉ ਭਇਆ ਉਦਾਸੁ ॥ |
| kehi kabeer ho bhaeiaa oudhaas || |
| Says Kabeer, I have become depressed; |

| ਤੀਰਥੁ ਬਡਾ ਕਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਦਾਸੁ ॥੩॥੪੨॥ |
| theerathh baddaa k har kaa dhaas ||3||42|| |
| is the sacred shrine of pilgrimage greater, or the slave of the Lord? ||3||42|| |

| dhaekha bhaaee gyaan kee aaee aaandhhee || |
| Behold, O Siblings of Destiny, the storm of spiritual wisdom has come. |

| ਸਭੈ ਉਡਾਨੀ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕੀ ਟਾਟੀ ਰਹੈ ਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਬਾਂਧੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| sabhai ouddaanee bhram kee ttaattee rehai n maaeiaa baandhhee ||1|| rehaao || |
| It has totally blown away the thatched huts of doubt, and torn apart the bonds of Maya. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਦੁਚਿਤੇ ਕੀ ਦੁਇ ਥੂਨਿ ਗਿਰਾਨੀ ਮੋਹ ਬਲੇਡਾ ਟੂਟਾ ॥ |
| dhuchithae kee dhue thhoon giraanee moh balaeddaa ttoottaa || |
| The two pillars of double-mindedness have fallen, and the beams of emotional attachment have come crashing down. |

| ਆਂਧੀ ਪਾਛੇ ਜੋ ਜਲੁ ਬਰਖੈ ਤਿਹਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਨੁ ਭੀਨਾਂ ॥ |
| aaandhhee paashhae jo jal barakhai thihi thaeraa jan bheenaan || |
| Your servant is drenched with the rain that has fallen in this storm. |

| ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਮਨਿ ਭਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਾ ਉਦੈ ਭਾਨੁ ਜਬ ਚੀਨਾ ॥੨॥੪੩॥ |
| kehi kabeer man bhaeiaa pragaasaa oudhai bhaan jab cheenaa ||2||43|| |
| Says Kabeer, my mind became enlightened, when I saw the sun rise. ||2||43|| |

| har jas sunehi n har gun gaavehi || |
| They do not listen to the Lord's Praises and they do not sing the Lord's Glories |

| ਬਾਤਨ ਹੀ ਅਸਮਾਨੁ ਗਿਰਾਵਹਿ ॥੧॥ |
| baathan hee asamaan giraavehi ||1|| |
| but they try to bring down the sky with their talk. ||1|| |
|
| ਐਸੇ ਲੋਗਨ ਸਿਉ ਕਿਆ ਕਹੀਐ ॥ |
| aisae logan sio kiaa keheeai || |
| What can anyone say to such people? |

| ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀਏ ਭਗਤਿ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਜ ਤਿਨ ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਡਰਾਨੇ ਰਹੀਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| jo prabh keeeae bhagath thae baahaj thin thae sadhaa ddaraanae reheeai ||1|| rehaao || |
| You should always be careful around those whom God has excluded from His devotional worship. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਆਪਿ ਨ ਦੇਹਿ ਚੁਰੂ ਭਰਿ ਪਾਨੀ ॥ |
| aap n dhaehi churoo bhar paanee || |
| They do not offer even a handful of water, |
|
| ਤਿਹ ਨਿੰਦਹਿ ਜਿਹ ਗੰਗਾ ਆਨੀ ॥੨॥ |
| thih nindhehi jih gangaa aanee ||2|| |
| while they slander the one who brought forth the Ganges. ||2|| |
|
| ਬੈਠਤ ਉਠਤ ਕੁਟਿਲਤਾ ਚਾਲਹਿ ॥ |
| baithath outhath kuttilathaa chaalehi || |
| Sitting down or standing up, their ways are crooked and evil. |
|
| ਆਪੁ ਗਏ ਅਉਰਨ ਹੂ ਘਾਲਹਿ ॥੩॥ |
| aap geae aouran hoo ghaalehi ||3|| |
| They ruin themselves, and then they ruin others. ||3|| |
|
| ਛਾਡਿ ਕੁਚਰਚਾ ਆਨ ਨ ਜਾਨਹਿ ॥ |
| shhaadd kucharachaa aan n jaanehi || |
| They know nothing except evil talk. |
|
| ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਹੂ ਕੋ ਕਹਿਓ ਨ ਮਾਨਹਿ ॥੪॥ |
| brehamaa hoo ko kehiou n maanehi ||4|| |
| They would not even obey Brahma's orders. ||4|| |
