| On the eighth day of the lunar cycle, the body is made of the eight ingredients. |

| Within it is the Unknowable Lord, the King of the supreme treasure. |

| ਗੁਰ ਗਮ ਗਿਆਨ ਬਤਾਵੈ ਭੇਦ ॥ |
| gur gam giaan bathaavai bhaedh || |
| The Guru, who knows this spiritual wisdom, reveals the secret of this mystery. |

| ਉਲਟਾ ਰਹੈ ਅਭੰਗ ਅਛੇਦ ॥੯॥ |

| Turning away from the world, He abides in the Unbreakable and Impenetrable Lord. ||9|| |

| On the ninth day of the lunar cycle, discipline the nine gates of the body. |

| ਬਹਤੀ ਮਨਸਾ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਬਾਂਧਿ ॥ |
| behathee manasaa raakhahu baandhh || |
| Keep your pulsating desires restrained. |
|
| ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੀਵਹੁ ਅਮਰ ਫਲ ਖਾਹੁ ॥੧੦॥ |
| jug jug jeevahu amar fal khaahu ||10|| |
| you shall live throughout the ages, eating the fruit of immortality. ||10|| |

| ਦਸਮੀ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਹੋਇ ਅਨੰਦ ॥ |

| On the tenth day of the lunar cycle, there is ecstasy in all directions. |

| ਛੂਟੈ ਭਰਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥ |

| Doubt is dispelled, and the Lord of the Universe is met. |

| ਜੋਤਿ ਸਰੂਪੀ ਤਤ ਅਨੂਪ ॥ |

| He is the Embodiment of light, the incomparable essence. |

| ਅਮਲ ਨ ਮਲ ਨ ਛਾਹ ਨਹੀ ਧੂਪ ॥੧੧॥ |

| He is stainless, without stain, beyond both sunshine and shade. ||11|| |

| On the eleventh day of the lunar cycle, if you run in the direction of the One, |

| ਤਉ ਜੋਨੀ ਸੰਕਟ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥ |

| you will not have to suffer the pains of reincarnation again. |
|
| ਸੀਤਲ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਭਇਆ ਸਰੀਰਾ ॥ |
| seethal niramal bhaeiaa sareeraa || |
| Your body will become cool, immaculate and pure. |

| ਦੂਰਿ ਬਤਾਵਤ ਪਾਇਆ ਨੀਰਾ ॥੧੨॥ |

| The Lord was said to be far away, but He is found near at hand. ||12|| |

| On the twelfth day of the lunar cycle, twelve suns rise. |

| ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਜੇ ਅਨਹਦ ਤੂਰ ॥ |

| Day and night, the celestial bugles vibrate the unstruck melody. |
|
| ਦੇਖਿਆ ਤਿਹੂੰ ਲੋਕ ਕਾ ਪੀਉ ॥ |
| dhaekhiaa thihoon lok kaa peeo || |
| Then, one beholds the Father of the three worlds. |
|
| ਅਚਰਜੁ ਭਇਆ ਜੀਵ ਤੇ ਸੀਉ ॥੧੩॥ |

| This is wonderful! The human being has become God! ||13|| |
|
| ਤੇਰਸਿ ਤੇਰਹ ਅਗਮ ਬਖਾਣਿ ॥ |

| On the thirteenth day of the lunar cycle, the thirteen holy books proclaim |

| ਅਰਧ ਉਰਧ ਬਿਚਿ ਸਮ ਪਹਿਚਾਣਿ ॥ |
| aradhh ouradhh bich sam pehichaan || |
| that you must recognize the Lord in the nether regions of the underworld as well as the heavens. |

| ਨੀਚ ਊਚ ਨਹੀ ਮਾਨ ਅਮਾਨ ॥ |
| neech ooch nehee maan amaan || |
| There is no high or low, no honor or dishonor. |
|
| ਬਿਆਪਿਕ ਰਾਮ ਸਗਲ ਸਾਮਾਨ ॥੧੪॥ |

| The Lord is pervading and permeating all. ||14|| |
|
| ਚਉਦਸਿ ਚਉਦਹ ਲੋਕ ਮਝਾਰਿ ॥ |

| On the fourteenth day of the lunar cycle, in the fourteen worlds |
|
| ਰੋਮ ਰੋਮ ਮਹਿ ਬਸਹਿ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥ |
| rom rom mehi basehi muraar || |
| and on each and every hair, the Lord abides. |
|
| ਸਤ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਕਾ ਧਰਹੁ ਧਿਆਨ ॥ |
| sath santhokh kaa dhharahu dhhiaan || |
| Center yourself and meditate on truth and contentment. |

| Its power is diffused through its gentle light. |

| ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਅਖੰਡ ਸੁਰਹੀ ਜਾਇ ॥ |

| When your attention is focused day and night upon that imperishable place, |

| ਤਉ ਅਨਹਦ ਬੇਣੁ ਸਹਜ ਮਹਿ ਬਾਇ ॥੧॥ |

| then the celestial flutes play the unstruck melody in tranquil peace and poise. ||1|| |

| On Monday, the Ambrosial Nectar trickles down from the moon. |

| Tasting it, all poisons are removed in an instant. |

| ਬਾਣੀ ਰੋਕਿਆ ਰਹੈ ਦੁਆਰ ॥ |

| On Tuesday, understand reality; |

| ਪੰਚ ਚੋਰ ਕੀ ਜਾਣੈ ਰੀਤਿ ॥ |
| panch chor kee jaanai reeth || |
| you must know the way the five thieves work. |

| ਘਰ ਛੋਡੇਂ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| ghar shhoddaen baahar jin jaae || |
| Those who leave their own home to go out wandering |
|
| ਨਾਤਰੁ ਖਰਾ ਰਿਸੈ ਹੈ ਰਾਇ ॥੩॥ |
| naathar kharaa risai hai raae ||3|| |
| shall feel the terrible wrath of the Lord, their King. ||3|| |

| The Lord comes to dwell in the lotus of the heart. |
