ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਨ ਪਛਾਣਹੀ ਕਿਆ ਮੁਹੁ ਦੇਸਹਿ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
aapanaa pir n pashhaanehee kiaa muhu dhaesehi jaae || |
You do not recognize your own Husband Lord! When you go to Him, what face will you show Him? |

ਜਿਨੀ ਸਖਂੀਂ ਕੰਤੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਇ ॥ |
jinee sakhanaeen kanth pashhaaniaa ho thin kai laago paae || |
I touch the feet of my sister soul-brides who have known their Husband Lord. |

ਮੁੰਧੇ ਕੂੜਿ ਮੁਠੀ ਕੂੜਿਆਰਿ ॥ |
mundhhae koorr muthee koorriaar || |
O woman, the false ones are being cheated by falsehood. |
|
ਪਿਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਰ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
pir prabh saachaa sohanaa paaeeai gur beechaar ||1|| rehaao || |
God is your Husband; He is Handsome and True. He is obtained by reflecting upon the Guru. ||1||Pause|| |

ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਕੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਛਾਣਈ ਤਿਨ ਕਿਉ ਰੈਣਿ ਵਿਹਾਇ ॥ |
manamukh kanth n pashhaanee thin kio rain vihaae || |
The self-willed manmukhs do not recognize their Husband Lord; how will they spend their life-night? |

ਗਰਬਿ ਅਟੀਆ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਜਲਹਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ॥ |
garab atteeaa thrisanaa jalehi dhukh paavehi dhoojai bhaae || |
Filled with arrogance, they burn with desire; they suffer in the pain of the love of duality. |

ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੀਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਤਿਨ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
sabadh ratheeaa sohaaganee thin vichahu houmai jaae || |
The happy soul-brides are attuned to the Shabad; their egotism is eliminated from within. |

ਸਦਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਿਨਾ ਸੁਖੇ ਸੁਖਿ ਵਿਹਾਇ ॥੨॥ |
sadhaa pir raavehi aapanaa thinaa sukhae sukh vihaae ||2|| |
They enjoy their Husband Lord forever, and their life-night passes in the most blissful peace. ||2|| |
|
ਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਹੂਣੀ ਪਿਰ ਮੁਤੀਆ ਪਿਰਮੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
giaan vihoonee pir mutheeaa piram n paaeiaa jaae || |
She is utterly lacking in spiritual wisdom; she is abandoned by her Husband Lord. She cannot obtain His Love. |

ਅਗਿਆਨ ਮਤੀ ਅੰਧੇਰੁ ਹੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਪਿਰ ਦੇਖੇ ਭੁਖ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
agiaan mathee andhhaer hai bin pir dhaekhae bhukh n jaae || |
In the darkness of intellectual ignorance, she cannot see her Husband, and her hunger does not depart. |

ਆਵਹੁ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਸਹੇਲੀਹੋ ਮੈ ਪਿਰੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥ |
aavahu milahu sehaeleeho mai pir dhaehu milaae || |
Come and meet with me, my sister soul-brides, and unite me with my Husband. |

ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਪਿਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩॥ |
poorai bhaag sathigur milai pir paaeiaa sach samaae ||3|| |
She who meets the True Guru, by perfect good fortune, finds her Husband; she is absorbed in the True One. ||3|| |

ਸੇ ਸਹੀਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥ |
sae seheeaa sohaaganee jin ko nadhar karaee || |
Those upon whom He casts His Glance of Grace become His happy soul-brides. |

ਖਸਮੁ ਪਛਾਣਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਆਗੈ ਦੇਇ ॥ |
khasam pashhaanehi aapanaa than man aagai dhaee || |
One who recognizes her Lord and Master places her body and mind in offering before Him. |

ਘਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਆਪਣਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥ |
ghar var paaeiaa aapanaa houmai dhoor karaee || |
Within her own home, she finds her Husband Lord; her egotism is dispelled. |

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤੀਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥੪॥੨੮॥੬੧॥ |
naanak sobhaavantheeaa sohaaganee anadhin bhagath karaee ||4||28||61|| |
O Nanak, the happy soul-brides are embellished and exalted; night and day they are absorbed in devotional worship. ||4||28||61|| |

ਇਕਿ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਹਉ ਕੈ ਦਰਿ ਪੂਛਉ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
eik pir raavehi aapanaa ho kai dhar pooshho jaae || |
Some enjoy their Husband Lord; unto whose door should I go to ask for Him? |

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੀ ਭਾਉ ਕਰਿ ਮੈ ਪਿਰੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥ |
sathigur saevee bhaao kar mai pir dhaehu milaae || |
I serve my True Guru with love, that He may lead me to Union with my Husband Lord. |

ਸਭੁ ਉਪਾਏ ਆਪੇ ਵੇਖੈ ਕਿਸੁ ਨੇੜੈ ਕਿਸੁ ਦੂਰਿ ॥ |
sabh oupaaeae aapae vaekhai kis naerrai kis dhoor || |
He created all, and He Himself watches over us. Some are close to Him, and some are far away. |

ਜਿਨਿ ਪਿਰੁ ਸੰਗੇ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਸਦਾ ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥੧॥ |
jin pir sangae jaaniaa pir raavae sadhaa hadhoor ||1|| |
She who knows her Husband Lord to be always with her, enjoys His Constant Presence. ||1|| |
|
ਮੁੰਧੇ ਤੂ ਚਲੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਇ ॥ |
mundhhae thoo chal gur kai bhaae || |
O woman, you must walk in harmony with the Guru's Will. |
|
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਵਹਿ ਪਿਰੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
anadhin raavehi pir aapanaa sehajae sach samaae ||1|| rehaao || |
Night and day, you shall enjoy your Husband, and you shall intuitively merge into the True One. ||1||Pause|| |

ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੀਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੀਗਾਰਿ ॥ |
sabadh ratheeaa sohaaganee sachai sabadh seegaar || |
Attuned to the Shabad, the happy soul-brides are adorned with the True Word of the Shabad. |

ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਪਾਇਨਿ ਘਰਿ ਆਪਣੈ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਹੇਤਿ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥ |
har var paaein ghar aapanai gur kai haeth piaar || |
Within their own home, they obtain the Lord as their Husband, with love for the Guru. |
|
ਸੇਜ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਵੈ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥ |
saej suhaavee har rang ravai bhagath bharae bhanddaar || |
Upon her beautiful and cozy bed, she enjoys the Love of her Lord. She is overflowing with the treasure of devotion. |
|
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਜਿ ਸਭਸੈ ਦੇਇ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥੨॥ |
so prabh preetham man vasai j sabhasai dhaee adhhaar ||2|| |
That Beloved God abides in her mind; He gives His Support to all. ||2|| |

ਪਿਰੁ ਸਾਲਾਹਨਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਹਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥ |
pir saalaahan aapanaa thin kai ho sadh balihaarai jaao || |
I am forever a sacrifice to those who praise their Husband Lord. |

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਅਰਪੀ ਸਿਰੁ ਦੇਈ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਲਾਗਾ ਪਾਇ ॥ |
man than arapee sir dhaeee thin kai laagaa paae || |
I dedicate my mind and body to them, and give my head as well; I fall at their feet. |
|
ਜਿਨੀ ਇਕੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਚੁਕਾਇ ॥ |
jinee eik pashhaaniaa dhoojaa bhaao chukaae || |
Those who recognize the One renounce the love of duality. |
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੀਐ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩॥੨੯॥੬੨॥ |
guramukh naam pashhaaneeai naanak sach samaae ||3||29||62|| |
The Gurmukh recognizes the Naam, O Nanak, and is absorbed into the True One. ||3||29||62|| |

O Dear Lord, You are the Truest of the True. All things are in Your Power. |

ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਤਰਸਦੇ ਫਿਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਪੀਰੈ ॥ |
lakh chouraaseeh tharasadhae firae bin gur bhaettae peerai || |
The 8.4 million species of beings wander around searching for You, but without the Guru, they do not find You. |

ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਬਖਸੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਲਏ ਸੂਖ ਸਦਾ ਸਰੀਰੈ ॥ |
har jeeo bakhasae bakhas leae sookh sadhaa sareerai || |
When the Dear Lord grants His Forgiveness, this human body finds lasting peace. |

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਰੀ ਸਚੁ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰੈ ॥੧॥ |
gur parasaadhee saev karee sach gehir ganbheerai ||1|| |
By Guru's Grace, I serve the True One, who is Immeasurably Deep and Profound. ||1|| |

ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥ |
man maerae naam rathae sukh hoe || |
O my mind, attuned to the Naam, you shall find peace. |
|
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
guramathee naam salaaheeai dhoojaa avar n koe ||1|| rehaao || |
Follow the Guru's Teachings, and praise the Naam; there is no other at all. ||1||Pause|| |

ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਨੋ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਹੈ ਬਹਿ ਸਚਾ ਧਰਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ |
dhharam raae no hukam hai behi sachaa dhharam beechaar || |
The Righteous Judge of Dharma, by the Hukam of God's Command, sits and administers True Justice. |

ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਦੁਸਟੁ ਆਤਮਾ ਓਹੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ॥ |
dhoojai bhaae dhusatt aathamaa ouhu thaeree sarakaar || |
Those evil souls, ensnared by the love of duality, are subject to Your Command. |

ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਕਰੈ ਧੰਨੁ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੨॥ |
thin kee saevaa dhharam raae karai dhhann savaaranehaar ||2|| |
The Righteous Judge of Dharma serves them; blessed is the Lord who adorns them. ||2|| |
|
ਮਨ ਕੇ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਮਨਹਿ ਤਜੈ ਮਨਿ ਚੂਕੈ ਮੋਹੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥ |
man kae bikaar manehi thajai man chookai mohu abhimaan || |
One who eliminates mental wickedness from within the mind, and casts out emotional attachment and egotistical pride, |

ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਸਹਜੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਨੁ ॥ |
aatham raam pashhaaniaa sehajae naam samaan || |
comes to recognize the All-pervading Soul, and is intuitively absorbed into the Naam. |

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਫਿਰੈ ਦਿਵਾਨੁ ॥ |
bin sathigur mukath n paaeeai manamukh firai dhivaan || |
Without the True Guru, the self-willed manmukhs do not find liberation; they wander around like lunatics. |
|
ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਚੀਨੈ ਕਥਨੀ ਬਦਨੀ ਕਰੇ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਨੁ ॥੩॥ |
sabadh n cheenai kathhanee badhanee karae bikhiaa maahi samaan ||3|| |
They do not contemplate the Shabad; engrossed in corruption, they utter only empty words. ||3|| |
|
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
sabh kishh aapae aap hai dhoojaa avar n koe || |
He Himself is everything; there is no other at all. |
|
ਜਿਉ ਬੋਲਾਏ ਤਿਉ ਬੋਲੀਐ ਜਾ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਲਾਏ ਸੋਇ ॥ |
jio bolaaeae thio boleeai jaa aap bulaaeae soe || |
I speak just as He makes me speak, when He Himself makes me speak. |

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬਾਣੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਹੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ |
guramukh baanee breham hai sabadh milaavaa hoe || |
The Word of the Gurmukh is God Himself. Through the Shabad, we merge in Him. |

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ਤੂ ਜਿਤੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੩੦॥੬੩॥ |
naanak naam samaal thoo jith saeviai sukh hoe ||4||30||63|| |
O Nanak, remember the Naam; serving Him, peace is obtained. ||4||30||63|| |
