| If I were to renounce You, God, unto whom could I turn? |

| ਆਨ ਨ ਬੀਆ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਮਸਰਿ ॥ |

| There is no other, comparable to You. |

| ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਕਿਸ ਕੀ ਕਾਣਿ ॥ |

| Who else is Your servant to serve? |

| ਸਾਕਤੁ ਭੂਲਾ ਫਿਰੈ ਬੇਬਾਣਿ ॥੩॥ |

| The faithless cynics are deluded; they wander around in the wilderness. ||3|| |

| ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| thaeree vaddiaaee kehee n jaae || |
| Your Glorious Greatness cannot be described. |

| ਜਹ ਕਹ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੈਹਿ ਗਲਿ ਲਾਇ ॥ |
| jeh keh raakh laihi gal laae || |
| Wherever I am, you save me, hugging me close in Your embrace. |

| Having wandered through foreign lands, I have come here to do business. |

| ਵਸਤੁ ਅਨੂਪ ਸੁਣੀ ਲਾਭਾਇਆ ॥ |
| vasath anoop sunee laabhaaeiaa || |
| I heard of the incomparable and profitable merchandise. |

| ਗੁਣ ਰਾਸਿ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਪਲੈ ਆਨੀ ॥ |
| gun raas bannih palai aanee || |
| I have gathered in my pockets my capital of virtue, and I have brought it here with me. |

| ਦੇਖਿ ਰਤਨੁ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਲਪਟਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ |
| dhaekh rathan eihu man lapattaanee ||1|| |
| Beholding the jewel, this mind is fascinated. ||1|| |

| ਸਾਹ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਆਏ ॥ |

| I have come to the door of the Trader. |

| The Trader has sent me to the Banker. |

| ਅਮੋਲ ਰਤਨ ਅਮੋਲਾ ਰਾਸਿ ॥ |

| The jewel is priceless, and the capital is priceless. |

| ਵਿਸਟੁ ਸੁਭਾਈ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੀਤ ॥ |
| visatt subhaaee paaeiaa meeth || |
| O my gentle brother, mediator and friend |

| ਸਉਦਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਚੀਤ ॥੨॥ |
| soudhaa miliaa nihachal cheeth ||2|| |
| - I have obtained the merchandise, and my consciousness is now steady and stable. ||2|| |

| ਭਉ ਨਹੀ ਤਸਕਰ ਪਉਣ ਨ ਪਾਨੀ ॥ |
| bho nehee thasakar poun n paanee || |
| I have no fear of thieves, of wind or water. |
|
| ਸਹਜਿ ਵਿਹਾਝੀ ਸਹਜਿ ਲੈ ਜਾਨੀ ॥ |
| sehaj vihaajhee sehaj lai jaanee || |
| I have easily made my purchase, and I easily take it away. |
|
| ਸਤ ਕੈ ਖਟਿਐ ਦੁਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| sath kai khattiai dhukh nehee paaeiaa || |
| I have earned Truth, and I shall have no pain. |
|
| ਸਹੀ ਸਲਾਮਤਿ ਘਰਿ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ ॥੩॥ |
| sehee salaamath ghar lai aaeiaa ||3|| |
| I have brought this merchandise home, safe and sound. ||3|| |
|
| ਮਿਲਿਆ ਲਾਹਾ ਭਏ ਅਨੰਦ ॥ |
| miliaa laahaa bheae anandh || |
| I have earned the profit, and I am happy. |
|
| ਧੰਨੁ ਸਾਹ ਪੂਰੇ ਬਖਸਿੰਦ ॥ |
| dhhann saah poorae bakhasindh || |
| Blessed is the Banker, the Perfect Bestower. |
|
| ਇਹੁ ਸਉਦਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| eihu soudhaa guramukh kinai viralai paaeiaa || |
| How rare is the Gurmukh who obtains this merchandise; |

| ਸਹਲੀ ਖੇਪ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ ॥੪॥੬॥ |

| He does not consider my merits or demerits. |

| ਨਹ ਦੇਖਿਓ ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਸਂੀਗਾਰੋ ॥ |
| neh dhaekhiou roop rang sanaeegaaro || |
| He does not look at my beauty, color or decorations. |
|
| ਚਜ ਅਚਾਰ ਕਿਛੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੀ ॥ |
| chaj achaar kishh bidhh nehee jaanee || |
| I do not know the ways of wisdom and good conduct. |
|
| ਬਾਹ ਪਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਸੇਜੈ ਆਨੀ ॥੧॥ |
| baah pakar pria saejai aanee ||1|| |
| But taking me by the arm, my Husband Lord has led me to His Bed. ||1|| |

| ਸੁਨਿਬੋ ਸਖੀ ਕੰਤਿ ਹਮਾਰੋ ਕੀਅਲੋ ਖਸਮਾਨਾ ॥ |
| sunibo sakhee kanth hamaaro keealo khasamaanaa || |
| Hear, O my companions, my Husband, my Lord Master, possesses me. |

| ਕਰੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਓ ਕਰਿ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕਿਆ ਜਾਨੈ ਇਹੁ ਲੋਕੁ ਅਜਾਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| Placing His Hand upon my forehead, He protects me as His Own. What do these ignorant people know? ||1||Pause|| |

| My married life now appears so beauteous; |

| ਕੰਤੁ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਮੇਰੋ ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਜੋਹਿਓ ॥ |

| my Husband Lord has met me, and He sees all my pains. |

| ਆਂਗਨਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਸੋਭਾ ਚੰਦ ॥ |
| aaangan maerai sobhaa chandh || |
| Within the courtyard of my heart, the glory of the moon shines. |

| ਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਸੰਗਿ ਅਨੰਦ ॥੨॥ |
| nis baasur pria sang anandh ||2|| |
| Night and day, I have fun with my Beloved. ||2|| |

| ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਰੰਗਿ ਚਲੂਲ ॥ |
| basathr hamaarae rang chalool || |
| My clothes are dyed the deep crimson color of the poppy. |
|
| ਸਗਲ ਆਭਰਣ ਸੋਭਾ ਕੰਠਿ ਫੂਲ ॥ |
| sagal aabharan sobhaa kanth fool || |
| All the ornaments and garlands around my neck adorn me. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪੇਖੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਪਾਏ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥ |
| pria paekhee dhrisatt paaeae sagal nidhhaan || |
| Gazing upon my Beloved with my eyes, I have obtained all treasures; |

| ਦੁਸਟ ਦੂਤ ਕੀ ਚੂਕੀ ਕਾਨਿ ॥੩॥ |
| dhusatt dhooth kee chookee kaan ||3|| |
| I have shaken off the power of the evil demons. ||3|| |
|
| ਸਦ ਖੁਸੀਆ ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣੇ ॥ |
| sadh khuseeaa sadhaa rang maanae || |
| I have obtained eternal bliss, and I constantly celebrate. |
|
| ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਮਹਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਨੇ ॥ |
| no nidhh naam grih mehi thripathaanae || |
| With the nine treasures of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, I am satisfied in my own home. |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਉ ਪਿਰਹਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੀ ॥ |
| kahu naanak jo pirehi seegaaree || |
| Says Nanak, when the happy soul-bride is adorned by her Beloved, |

| ਥਿਰੁ ਸੋਹਾਗਨਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਭਤਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੭॥ |

| You take from them, and then deny that they have given anything to you. |
