| ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਈਐ ॥ |
| dhinas rain har keerathan gaaeeai || |
| The humble being who sings the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, day and night |

| ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਵਾਟ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੩॥ |
| so jan jam kee vaatt n paaeeai ||3|| |
| does not have to go with the Messenger of Death. ||3|| |
|
| ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਜਿਸੁ ਵਿਸਰਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ |
| aath pehar jis visarehi naahee || |
| One who does not forget the Lord, twenty-four hours a day, is emancipated; |
|
| ਗਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਲਗਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੬੧॥ |
| gath hovai naanak this lag paaee ||4||10||61|| |

| jaa kai simaran sookh nivaas || |
| Remembering Him in meditation, one abides in peace; |
|
| ਭਈ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਦੁਖ ਹੋਵਤ ਨਾਸੁ ॥੧॥ |
| bhee kaliaan dhukh hovath naas ||1|| |
| one becomes happy, and suffering is ended. ||1|| |

| ਅਨਦੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹੁ ॥ |
| anadh karahu prabh kae gun gaavahu || |
| Celebrate, make merry, and sing God's Glories. |

| ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਸਦ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਾਵਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| sathigur apanaa sadh sadhaa manaavahu ||1|| rehaao || |
| Forever and ever, surrender to the True Guru. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਮਾਵਹੁ ॥ |
| sathigur kaa sach sabadh kamaavahu || |
| Act in accordance with the Shabad, the True Word of the True Guru. |

| ਥਿਰੁ ਘਰਿ ਬੈਠੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥੨॥ |
| thhir ghar baithae prabh apanaa paavahu ||2|| |
| Remain steady and stable within the home of your own self, and find God. ||2|| |
|
| ਪਰ ਕਾ ਬੁਰਾ ਨ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਚੀਤ ॥ |
| par kaa buraa n raakhahu cheeth || |
| Do not harbor evil intentions against others in your mind, |
|
| ਤੁਮ ਕਉ ਦੁਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਭਾਈ ਮੀਤ ॥੩॥ |
| thum ko dhukh nehee bhaaee meeth ||3|| |
| and you shall not be troubled, O Siblings of Destiny, O friends. ||3|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤੰਤੁ ਮੰਤੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ॥ |
| har har thanth manth gur dheenhaa || |
| The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is the Tantric exercise, and the Mantra, given by the Guru. |

| ਇਹੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਚੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੬੨॥ |
| eihu sukh naanak anadhin cheenhaa ||4||11||62|| |
| Nanak knows this peace alone, night and day. ||4||11||62|| |

| That wretched being, whom no one knows |

| ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਉਹੁ ਚਹੁ ਕੁੰਟ ਮਾਨੈ ॥੧॥ |
| naam japath ouhu chahu kuntt maanai ||1|| |
| - chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, he is honored in the four directions. ||1|| |

| ਦਰਸਨੁ ਮਾਗਉ ਦੇਹਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥ |
| dharasan maago dhaehi piaarae || |
| I beg for the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan; please, give it to me, O Beloved! |

| ਤੁਮਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਉਨ ਕਉਨ ਨ ਤਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| thumaree saevaa koun koun n thaarae ||1|| rehaao || |
| Serving You, who, who has not been saved? ||1||Pause|| |

| ਜਾ ਕੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਕੋਈ ॥ |
| jaa kai nikatt n aavai koee || |
| That person, whom no one wants to be near |

| ਸਗਲ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਉਆ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਮਲਿ ਧੋਈ ॥੨॥ |
| sagal srisatt ouaa kae charan mal dhhoee ||2|| |
| - the whole world comes to wash the dirt of his feet. ||2|| |
|
| ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਕਾਹੂ ਨ ਆਵਤ ਕਾਮ ॥ |
| jo praanee kaahoo n aavath kaam || |
| That mortal, who is of no use to anyone at all |
|
| ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਮ ॥੩॥ |
| santh prasaadh thaa ko japeeai naam ||3|| |
| - by the Grace of the Saints, he meditates on the Naam. ||3|| |

| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਨ ਸੋਵਤ ਜਾਗੇ ॥ |
| saadhhasang man sovath jaagae || |
| In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the sleeping mind awakens. |

| ਤਬ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੀਠੇ ਲਾਗੇ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੬੩॥ |

| I sing the Praises of the Lord, Raam, Raam, Raam. |

| santh prathaap saadhh kai sangae har har naam dhhiaavo rae ||1|| rehaao || |
| By the graceful favor of the Saints, I meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਸਗਲ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸੂਤਿ ਪਰੋਈ ॥ |
| sagal samagree jaa kai sooth paroee || |
| Everything is strung on His string. |
|
| ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥ |
| ghatt ghatt anthar raviaa soee ||2|| |
| He is contained in each and every heart. ||2|| |
|
| ਓਪਤਿ ਪਰਲਉ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਰਤਾ ॥ |
| oupath paralo khin mehi karathaa || |
| He creates and destroys in an instant. |
|
| ਆਪਿ ਅਲੇਪਾ ਨਿਰਗੁਨੁ ਰਹਤਾ ॥੩॥ |
| aap alaepaa niragun rehathaa ||3|| |
| He Himself remains unattached, and without attributes. ||3|| |
|
| ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥ |
| karan karaavan antharajaamee || |
| He is the Creator, the Cause of causes, the Searcher of hearts. |
|
| ਅਨੰਦ ਕਰੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੬੪॥ |

| My wandering through millions of births has ended. |

| ਦੁਲਭ ਦੇਹ ਜੀਤੀ ਨਹੀ ਹਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ |
| dhulabh dhaeh jeethee nehee haarae ||1|| |
| I have won, and not lost, this human body, so difficult to obtain. ||1|| |
|
| ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਦੁਖ ਦਰਦ ਦੂਰਿ ॥ |
| kilabikh binaasae dhukh dharadh dhoor || |
| My sins have been erased, and my sufferings and pains are gone. |
|
| ਭਏ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| bheae puneeth santhan kee dhhoor ||1|| rehaao || |
| I have been sanctified by the dust of the feet of the Saints. ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਜੋਗ ॥ |
| prabh kae santh oudhhaaran jog || |
| The Saints of God have the ability to save us; |
|
| ਤਿਸੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਧੁਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗ ॥੨॥ |
| this bhaettae jis dhhur sanjog ||2|| |
| they meet with those of us who have such pre-ordained destiny. ||2|| |
|
| ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ॥ |
| man aanandh manthra gur dheeaa || |
| My mind is filled with bliss, since the Guru gave me the Mantra of the Lord's Name. |

| ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਬੁਝੀ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਥੀਆ ॥੩॥ |
| thrisan bujhee man nihachal thheeaa ||3|| |
| My thirst has been quenched, and my mind has become steady and stable. ||3|| |
|
| ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ॥ |
| naam padhaarathh no nidhh sidhh || |
| The wealth of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is for me the nine treasures, and the spiritual powers of the Siddhas. |
