| ਉਨਿ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਖਾਇਆ ਹਮ ਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| oun sabh jag khaaeiaa ham gur raakhae maerae bhaaee || rehaao || |
| She is devouring the whole world, but the Guru has saved me, O my Siblings of Destiny. ||Pause|| |

| ਪਾਇ ਠਗਉਲੀ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਜੋਹਿਆ ॥ |
| paae thagoulee sabh jag johiaa || |
| Administering her poisons, she has overcome the whole world. |
|
| ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਮਹਾਦੇਉ ਮੋਹਿਆ ॥ |
| brehamaa bisan mehaadhaeo mohiaa || |
| She has bewitched Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. |
|
| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਗੇ ਸੇ ਸੋਹਿਆ ॥੨॥ |
| guramukh naam lagae sae sohiaa ||2|| |
| Only those Gurmukhs who are attuned to the Naam are blessed. ||2|| |
|
| ਵਰਤ ਨੇਮ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਕੇ ਪੁਨਹਚਰਨਾ ॥ |
| varath naem kar thhaakae punehacharanaa || |
| Performing fasts, religious observances and atonements, the mortals have grown weary. |
|
| ਤਟ ਤੀਰਥ ਭਵੇ ਸਭ ਧਰਨਾ ॥ |
| thatt theerathh bhavae sabh dhharanaa || |
| They wander over the entire planet, on pilgrimages to the banks of sacred rivers. |
|
| ਸੇ ਉਬਰੇ ਜਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾ ॥੩॥ |
| sae oubarae j sathigur kee saranaa ||3|| |
| But they alone are saved, who seek the Sanctuary of the True Guru. ||3|| |

| ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਭੋ ਜਗੁ ਬਾਧਾ ॥ |
| maaeiaa mohi sabho jag baadhhaa || |
| Attached to Maya, the whole world is in bondage. |
|
| ਹਉਮੈ ਪਚੈ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮੂਰਾਖਾ ॥ |
| houmai pachai manamukh mooraakhaa || |
| The foolish self-willed manmukhs are consumed by their egotism. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਾਹ ਪਕਰਿ ਹਮ ਰਾਖਾ ॥੪॥੨॥੯੬॥ |
| gur naanak baah pakar ham raakhaa ||4||2||96|| |
| Taking me by the arm, Guru Nanak has saved me. ||4||2||96|| |

| Everything is painful, when one forgets the Lord Master. |

| ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾ ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ |
| eehaa oohaa kaam n praanee ||1|| |
| Here and hereafter, such a mortal is useless. ||1|| |

| ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਨਾਇ ਲਾਏ ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਰਜਾਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| kar kirapaa apunai naae laaeae sarab sookh prabh thumaree rajaae || rehaao || |
| Bestowing Your Mercy, God, You attach us to Your Name; all peace comes by Your Will. ||Pause|| |

| ਸੰਗਿ ਹੋਵਤ ਕਉ ਜਾਨਤ ਦੂਰਿ ॥ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਮਰਤਾ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਝੂਰਿ ॥੨॥ |
| sang hovath ko jaanath dhoor || so jan marathaa nith nith jhoor ||2|| |
| The Lord is Ever-present; one who deems Him to be far away, dies again and again, repenting. ||2|| |
|
| ਜਿਨਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਦੀਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਚਿਤਵਤ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ |
| jin sabh kishh dheeaa this chithavath naahi || |
| The mortals do not remember the One, who has given them everything. |
|
| ਮਹਾ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੩॥ |
| mehaa bikhiaa mehi dhin rain jaahi ||3|| |
| Engrossed in such terrible corruption, their days and nights waste away. ||3|| |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਏਕ ॥ |

| Says Nanak, meditate in remembrance of the One Lord God. |

| Meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the mind and body are totally rejuvenated. |

| ਕਲਮਲ ਦੋਖ ਸਗਲ ਪਰਹਰਿਆ ॥੧॥ |
| kalamal dhokh sagal parehariaa ||1|| |
| All sins and sorrows are washed away. ||1|| |
|
| ਸੋਈ ਦਿਵਸੁ ਭਲਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥ |
| soee dhivas bhalaa maerae bhaaee || |
| How blessed is that day, O my Siblings of Destiny, |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| har gun gaae param gath paaee || rehaao || |
| when the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung, and the supreme status is obtained. ||Pause|| |

| ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਜੇ ਪੈਰ ॥ |
| saadhh janaa kae poojae pair || |
| Worshipping the feet of the Holy Saints, |
|
| ਮਿਟੇ ਉਪਦ੍ਰਹ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਬੈਰ ॥੨॥ |
| mittae oupadhreh man thae bair ||2|| |
| troubles and hatred are eliminated from the mind. ||2|| |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਝਗਰੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ॥ |
| gur poorae mil jhagar chukaaeiaa || |
| Meeting with the Perfect Guru, conflict is ended, |
|
| ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤ ਸਭਿ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਆਇਆ ॥੩॥ |
| panch dhooth sabh vasagath aaeiaa ||3|| |
| and the five demons are totally subdued. ||3|| |

| ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ |
| jis man vasiaa har kaa naam || |
| One whose mind is filled with the Name of the Lord, |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਊਪਰਿ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ॥੪॥੪॥੯੮॥ |

| O singer, sing of the One, |

| ਜੀਅ ਪਿੰਡ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰੇ ॥ |
| jeea pindd kae praan adhhaarae || |
| who is the Support of the soul, the body and the breath of life. |
|
| ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਹਿ ॥ |
| jaa kee saevaa sarab sukh paavehi || |
| Serving Him, all peace is obtained. |
|
| ਅਵਰ ਕਾਹੂ ਪਹਿ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਜਾਵਹਿ ॥੧॥ |
| avar kaahoo pehi bahurr n jaavehi ||1|| |
| You shall no longer go to any other. ||1|| |

| ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਅਨੰਦੀ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਗੁਨ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਜਾਪੀਐ ॥ |
| sadhaa anandh anandhee saahib gun nidhhaan nith nith jaapeeai || |
| My Blissful Lord Master is forever in bliss; meditate continually and forever, on the Lord, the treasure of excellence. |

| ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਾਸੀਐ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| balihaaree this santh piaarae jis prasaadh prabh man vaaseeai || rehaao || |
| I am a sacrifice to the Beloved Saints; by their kind favor, God comes to dwell in the mind. ||Pause|| |

| ਜਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਨੁ ਨਿਖੂਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ |
| jaa kaa dhaan nikhoottai naahee || |
| His gifts are never exhausted. |
|
| ਭਲੀ ਭਾਤਿ ਸਭ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥ |
| bhalee bhaath sabh sehaj samaahee || |
| In His subtle way, He easily absorbs all. |
|
| ਜਾ ਕੀ ਬਖਸ ਨ ਮੇਟੈ ਕੋਈ ॥ |
| jaa kee bakhas n maettai koee || |
| His benevolence cannot be erased. |
|
| ਮਨਿ ਵਾਸਾਈਐ ਸਾਚਾ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥ |
| man vaasaaeeai saachaa soee ||2|| |
| So enshrine that True Lord within your mind. ||2|| |
|
| ਸਗਲ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਪੂਰਨ ॥ |
| sagal samagree grih jaa kai pooran || |
| His house is filled with all sorts of articles; |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੂਖ ਨ ਝੂਰਨ ॥ |
| prabh kae saevak dhookh n jhooran || |
| God's servants never suffer pain. |
|
| ਓਟਿ ਗਹੀ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ |
| outt gehee nirabho padh paaeeai || |
| Holding to His Support, the state of fearless dignity is obtained. |
|
| ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸੋ ਗੁਨ ਨਿਧਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥੩॥ |
| saas saas so gun nidhh gaaeeai ||3|| |
| With each and every breath, sing of the Lord, the treasure of excellence. ||3|| |
|
| ਦੂਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ਕਤਹੂ ਜਾਈਐ ॥ |
| dhoor n hoee kathehoo jaaeeai || |
| He is not far from us, wherever we go. |
|
| ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ |
| nadhar karae thaa har har paaeeai || |
| When He shows His Mercy, we obtain the Lord, Har, Har. |
|
| ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਕਰੀ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥ |
| aradhaas karee poorae gur paas || |
| I offer this prayer to the Perfect Guru. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੫॥੯੯॥ |
| naanak mangai har dhhan raas ||4||5||99|| |
