| One who has You as her Master, is satisfied, satiated and happy forever. ||2|| |

| ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਰੀ ਸੰਗ ਕੀ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਵਉ ॥ |
| sakhee sehaeree sang kee sumath dhrirraavo || |
| O my companions and fellow maidens, please implant that balanced understanding within me. |

| ਸੇਵਹੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਭਾਉ ਕਰਿ ਤਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਵਉ ॥੩॥ |
| saevahu saadhhoo bhaao kar tho nidhh har paavo ||3|| |
| Serve the Holy Saints lovingly, and find the treasure of the Lord. ||3|| |

| ਸਗਲੀ ਦਾਸੀ ਠਾਕੁਰੈ ਸਭ ਕਹਤੀ ਮੇਰਾ ॥ |
| sagalee dhaasee thaakurai sabh kehathee maeraa || |
| All are servants of the Lord Master, and all call Him their own. |

| ਜਿਸਹਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੇ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਸੁਖਹਿ ਬਸੇਰਾ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੧੧੭॥ |

| Become the servant of the Saints, and learn this way of life. |

| ਸਗਲ ਗੁਣਾ ਗੁਣ ਊਤਮੋ ਭਰਤਾ ਦੂਰਿ ਨ ਪਿਖੁ ਰੀ ॥੧॥ |
| sagal gunaa gun oothamo bharathaa dhoor n pikh ree ||1|| |
| Of all virtues, the most sublime virtue is to see your Husband Lord near at hand. ||1|| |

| ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਜੀਠੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰੀ ॥ |
| eihu man sundhar aapanaa har naam majeethai rang ree || |
| So, dye this mind of yours with the color of the Lord's Love. |

| ਤਿਆਗਿ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਚਾਤੁਰੀ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣੁ ਗੁਪਾਲਹਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| thiaag siaanap chaathuree thoon jaan gupaalehi sang ree ||1|| rehaao || |
| Renounce cleverness and cunning, and know that the Sustainer of the world is with you. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਭਰਤਾ ਕਹੈ ਸੁ ਮਾਨੀਐ ਏਹੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਬਣਾਇ ਰੀ ॥ |
| bharathaa kehai s maaneeai eaehu seegaar banaae ree || |
| Whatever your Husband Lord says, accept that, and make it your decoration. |

| ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ਏਹੁ ਤੰਬੋਲਾ ਖਾਇ ਰੀ ॥੨॥ |
| dhoojaa bhaao visaareeai eaehu thanbolaa khaae ree ||2|| |
| Forget the love of duality, and chew upon this betel leaf. ||2|| |

| ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਪਕੋ ਇਹ ਸਤ ਕੀ ਸੇਜ ਬਿਛਾਇ ਰੀ ॥ |
| gur kaa sabadh kar dheepako eih sath kee saej bishhaae ree || |
| Make the Word of the Guru's Shabad your lamp, and let your bed be Truth. |

| ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਰਹੁ ਤਉ ਭੇਟੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ਰੀ ॥੩॥ |
| aath pehar kar jorr rahu tho bhaettai har raae ree ||3|| |
| Twenty-four hours a day, stand with your palms pressed together, and the Lord, your King, shall meet you. ||3|| |
|
| ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਚਜੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਸਭੁ ਸਾਈ ਰੂਪਿ ਅਪਾਰਿ ਰੀ ॥ |
| this hee chaj seegaar sabh saaee roop apaar ree || |
| She alone is cultured and embellished, and she alone is of incomparable beauty. |

| ਸਾਈ ਸ+ਹਾਗਣਿ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਜੋ ਭਾਣੀ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ਰੀ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੧੧੮॥ |
| saaee suohaagan naanakaa jo bhaanee karathaar ree ||4||16||118|| |
| She alone is the happy soul-bride, O Nanak, who is pleasing to the Creator Lord. ||4||16||118|| |

| ddeegan ddolaa thoo lo jo man kae bharamaa || |
| As long as there are doubts in the mind, the mortal staggers and falls. |

| ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕਾਟੇ ਗੁਰਿ ਆਪਣੈ ਪਾਏ ਬਿਸਰਾਮਾ ॥੧॥ |
| bhram kaattae gur aapanai paaeae bisaraamaa ||1|| |
| The Guru removed my doubts, and I have obtained my place of rest. ||1|| |
|
| ਓਇ ਬਿਖਾਦੀ ਦੋਖੀਆ ਤੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਹੂਟੇ ॥ |
| oue bikhaadhee dhokheeaa thae gur thae hoottae || |
| Those quarrelsome enemies have been overcome, through the Guru. |
|
| ਹਮ ਛੂਟੇ ਅਬ ਉਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਤੇ ਓਇ ਹਮ ਤੇ ਛੂਟੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| ham shhoottae ab ounhaa thae oue ham thae shhoottae ||1|| rehaao || |
| I have now escaped from them, and they have run away from me. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਮੇਰਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਾਨਤਾ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਬੰਧਾ ॥ |
| maeraa thaeraa jaanathaa thab hee thae bandhhaa || |
| He is concerned with 'mine and yours', and so he is held in bondage. |
|
| ਗੁਰਿ ਕਾਟੀ ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ ਤਬ ਛੁਟਕੇ ਫੰਧਾ ॥੨॥ |
| gur kaattee agiaanathaa thab shhuttakae fandhhaa ||2|| |
| When the Guru dispelled my ignorance, then the noose of death was cut away from my neck. ||2|| |
|
| ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਬੂਝਤਾ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਲਉ ਦੁਖੀਆ ॥ |
| jab lag hukam n boojhathaa thab hee lo dhukheeaa || |
| As long as he does not understand the Command of God's Will, he remains miserable. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਸੁਖੀਆ ॥੩॥ |
| gur mil hukam pashhaaniaa thab hee thae sukheeaa ||3|| |
| Meeting with the Guru, he comes to recognize God's Will, and then, he becomes happy. ||3|| |
|
| ਨਾ ਕੋ ਦੁਸਮਨੁ ਦੋਖੀਆ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਮੰਦਾ ॥ |
| naa ko dhusaman dhokheeaa naahee ko mandhaa || |
| I have no enemies and no adversaries; no one is wicked to me. |

| ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੇਵਕੋ ਨਾਨਕ ਖਸਮੈ ਬੰਦਾ ॥੪॥੧੭॥੧੧੯॥ |
| gur kee saevaa saevako naanak khasamai bandhaa ||4||17||119|| |
| That servant, who performs the Lord's service, O Nanak, is the slave of the Lord Master. ||4||17||119|| |

| Peace, celestial poise and absolute bliss are obtained, singing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises. |

| gareh nivaarae sathiguroo dhae apanaa naao ||1|| |
| Bestowing His Name, the True Guru removes the evil omens. ||1|| |

| ਗੁਰੂ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਹਉ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਚੁ ਸੁਆਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| guroo vittahu ho vaariaa jis mil sach suaao ||1|| rehaao || |
| I am a sacrifice to the Guru; meeting Him, I am absorbed into the True Lord. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਸਗੁਨ ਅਪਸਗੁਨ ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਲਗਹਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਚੀਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥ |

| Good omens and bad omens affect those who do not keep the Lord in the mind. |

| ਤਿਸੁ ਜਮੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੨॥ |
| this jam naerr n aavee jo har prabh bhaavai ||2|| |
| The Messenger of Death does not approach those who are pleasing to the Lord God. ||2|| |
|
| ਪੁੰਨ ਦਾਨ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਜੇਤੇ ਸਭ ਊਪਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ |
| punn dhaan jap thap jaethae sabh oopar naam || |
| Donations to charity, meditation and penance - above all of them is the Naam. |

| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਜੋ ਜਪੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮੁ ॥੩॥ |
| har har rasanaa jo japai this pooran kaam ||3|| |
| One who chants with his tongue the Name of the Lord, Har, Har - his works are brought to perfect completion. ||3|| |
|
| ਭੈ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਮੋਹ ਗਏ ਕੋ ਦਿਸੈ ਨ ਬੀਆ ॥ |
| bhai binasae bhram moh geae ko dhisai n beeaa || |
| His fears are removed, and his doubts and attachments are gone; he sees none other than God. |

| chithavo chithav sarab sukh paavo aagai bhaavo k n bhaavo || |
| Contemplating Him within my consciousness, I obtain total peace; but hereafter, will I be pleasing to Him or not? |

| ਏਕੁ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ਸਗਲ ਹੈ ਜਾਚਿਕ ਦੂਸਰ ਕੈ ਪਹਿ ਜਾਵਉ ॥੧॥ |
| eaek dhaathaar sagal hai jaachik dhoosar kai pehi jaavo ||1|| |
| There is only One Giver; all others are beggars. Who else can we turn to? ||1|| |

| ਹਉ ਮਾਗਉ ਆਨ ਲਜਾਵਉ ॥ |
| ho maago aan lajaavo || |
| When I beg from others, I am ashamed. |

| ਸਗਲ ਛਤ੍ਰਪਤਿ ਏਕੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਕਉਨੁ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਲਾਵਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| sagal shhathrapath eaeko thaakur koun samasar laavo ||1|| rehaao || |
| The One Lord Master is the Supreme King of all; who else is equal to Him? ||1||Pause|| |

| ਊਠਉ ਬੈਸਉ ਰਹਿ ਭਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਖੋਜਿ ਖੋਜਾਵਉ ॥ |
| ootho baiso rehi bh n saako dharasan khoj khojaavo || |
| Standing up and sitting down, I cannot live without Him. I search and search for the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. |

| ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਦਿਕ ਸਨਕਾਦਿਕ ਸਨਕ ਸਨੰਦਨ ਸਨਾਤਨ ਸਨਤਕੁਮਾਰ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕਉ ਮਹਲੁ ਦੁਲਭਾਵਉ ॥੨॥ |
| brehamaadhik sanakaadhik sanak sanandhan sanaathan sanathakumaar thinh ko mehal dhulabhaavo ||2|| |
| Even Brahma and the sages Sanak, Sanandan, Sanaatan and Sanat Kumar, find it difficult to obtain the Mansion of the Lord's Presence. ||2|| |

| ਅਗਮ ਅਗਮ ਆਗਾਧਿ ਬੋਧ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਰੈ ਨ ਪਾਵਉ ॥ |
| agam agam aagaadhh bodhh keemath parai n paavo || |
| He is unapproachable and unfathomable; His wisdom is deep and profound; His value cannot be appraised. |

| ਤਾਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਸਤਿ ਪੁਰਖ ਕੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥੩॥ |
| thaakee saran sath purakh kee sathigur purakh dhhiaavo ||3|| |
| I have taken to the Sanctuary of the True Lord, the Primal Being, and I meditate on the True Guru. ||3|| |

| ਭਇਓ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਕਾਟਿਓ ਬੰਧੁ ਗਰਾਵਉ ॥ |
| bhaeiou kirapaal dhaeiaal prabh thaakur kaattiou bandhh garaavo || |
| God, the Lord Master, has become kind and compassionate; He has cut the noose of death away from my neck. |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਉ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਤਉ ਫਿਰਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਆਵਉ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੨੧॥ |
| kahu naanak jo saadhhasang paaeiou tho fir janam n aavo ||4||1||121|| |
| Says Nanak, now that I have obtained the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I shall not have to be reincarnated again. ||4||1||121|| |
