| saadhh santh manaaeae pria paaeae gun gaaeae panch naadh thoor bajaaeae ||1|| rehaao || |
| and pleasing the Saints and holy men, obtain the Beloved Lord and sing His Glorious Praises; play the sound current of the Naad with the five instruments. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਏ ਸਹਜਾਏ ਦਰਸਾਏ ਅਬ ਰਾਤਿਆ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਸਿਉ ॥ |
| kirapaa paaeae sehajaaeae dharasaaeae ab raathiaa govindh sio || |
| Obtaining His Mercy, I easily gained the Blessed Vision of His Darshan; now, I am imbued with the Love of the Lord of the Universe. |

| ਸੰਤ ਸੇਵਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨਾਥ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਲਨ ਲਾਏ ॥੧॥ |
| santh saev preeth naathh rang laalan laaeae ||1|| |
| Serving the Saints, I feel love and affection for my Beloved Lord Master. ||1|| |

| ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਮਨਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ਰਹਸਾਏ ਨਹੀ ਆਏ ਸਹਜਾਏ ਮਨਿ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਪਾਏ ॥ |
| gur giaan man dhrirraaeae rehasaaeae nehee aaeae sehajaaeae man nidhhaan paaeae || |
| The Guru has implanted spiritual wisdom within my mind, and I rejoice that I shall not have to come back again. I have obtained celestial poise, and the treasure within my mind. |

| ਸਭ ਤਜੀ ਮਨੈ ਕੀ ਕਾਮ ਕਰਾ ॥ |
| sabh thajee manai kee kaam karaa || |
| I have renounced all of the affairs of my mind's desires. |

| ਚਿਰੁ ਚਿਰੁ ਚਿਰੁ ਚਿਰੁ ਭਇਆ ਮਨਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਪਿਆਸ ਲਾਗੀ ॥ |
| chir chir chir chir bhaeiaa man bahuth piaas laagee || |
| It has been so long, so long, so long, so very long, since my mind has felt such a great thirst. |

| ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨੋ ਦਿਖਾਵਹੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਤੁਮ ਬਤਾਵਹੁ ॥ |
| har dharasano dhikhaavahu mohi thum bathaavahu || |
| Please, reveal to me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, and show Yourself to me. |

| ਆਸ ਪਿਆਸ ਧੋਹ ਮੋਹ ਭਰਮ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਹੋਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| aas piaas dhhoh moh bharam hee thae horai ||1|| rehaao || |
| and release me from hope, thirst, deception, attachment and doubt? ||1||Pause|| |

| kaam krodhh lobh maan eih biaadhh shhorai ||1|| |
| How can I escape the afflictions of sexual desire, anger, greed and pride? ||1|| |

| In the Society of the Saints, love the Naam, and sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. |

| ਅਨਦਿਨੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥ |
| anadhino prabh dhhiaavo || |
| Night and day, meditate on God. |
|
| ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੀਤਿ ਜੀਤਿ ਮਿਟਾਵਉ ॥ |
| bhram bheeth jeeth mittaavo || |
| I have captured and demolished the walls of doubt. |

| ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੋਰੈ ॥੨॥੩॥੧੫੪॥ |

| Renounce pride, attachment, corruption and falsehood, and chant the Name of the Lord, Raam, Raam, Raam. |

| O mortal, attach yourself to the Feet of the Saints. ||1|| |

| God is the Sustainer of the world, Merciful to the meek, the Purifier of sinners, the Transcendent Lord God. Awaken, and meditate on His Feet. |

| One moment, the mortal is in fear, and the next moment he is fearless; in a moment, he gets up and departs. |

| ਖਿਨਹੂੰ ਰਸ ਭੋਗਨ ਖਿਨਹੂੰ ਖਿਨਹੂ ਤਜਿ ਜਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ |
| khinehoon ras bhogan khinehoon khinehoo thaj jaaeiou ||1|| |
| One moment, he enjoys pleasures, and the next moment, he leaves and goes away. ||1|| |
|
| ਖਿਨਹੂੰ ਜੋਗ ਤਾਪ ਬਹੁ ਪੂਜਾ ਖਿਨਹੂੰ ਭਰਮਾਇਓ ॥ |
| khinehoon jog thaap bahu poojaa khinehoon bharamaaeiou || |
| One moment, he practices Yoga and intense meditation, and all sorts of worship; the next moment, he wanders in doubt. |

| ਖਿਨਹੂੰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਇਓ ॥੨॥੫॥੧੫੬॥ |
| khinehoon kirapaa saadhhoo sang naanak har rang laaeiou ||2||5||156|| |
| One moment, O Nanak, the Lord bestows His Mercy and blesses him with His Love, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||2||5||156|| |

| The Guru says to install it in your consciousness. |

| ਅਨ ਸਿਉ ਤੋਰਿ ਫੇਰਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |

| Turn away from others, and turn to Him. |

| ਐਸੇ ਲਾਲਨੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਰੀ ਸਖੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| Thus you shall obtain your Beloved, O my companion. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਪੰਕਜ ਮੋਹ ਸਰਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| pankaj moh sar haan || |
| In the pool of the world is the mud of attachment. |
|
| ਪਗੁ ਨਹੀ ਚਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| pag nehee chalai har haan || |
| Stuck in it, his feet cannot walk towards the Lord. |
|
| ਗਹਡਿਓ ਮੂੜ ਨਰਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| gehaddiou moorr nar haan || |
| The fool is stuck; |
|
| ਅਨਿਨ ਉਪਾਵ ਕਰਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| anin oupaav kar haan || |
| he cannot do anything else. |
|
| ਤਉ ਨਿਕਸੈ ਸਰਨਿ ਪੈ ਰੀ ਸਖੀ ॥੧॥ |
| tho nikasai saran pai ree sakhee ||1|| |
| Only by entering the Lord's Sanctuary, O my companion, will you be released. ||1|| |

| ਥਿਰ ਥਿਰ ਚਿਤ ਥਿਰ ਹਾਂ ॥ |

| Thus your consciousness shall be stable and steady and firm. |

| ਬਨੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |

| Wilderness and household are the same. |
|
| ਅੰਤਰਿ ਏਕ ਪਿਰ ਹਾਂ ॥ |

| Deep within dwells the One Husband Lord; |

| ਬਾਹਰਿ ਅਨੇਕ ਧਰਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| baahar anaek dhhar haan || |
| outwardly, there are many distractions. |

| ਰਾਜਨ ਜੋਗੁ ਕਰਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| raajan jog kar haan || |
| Practice Raja Yoga, the Yoga of meditation and success. |

| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਲੋਗ ਅਲੋਗੀ ਰੀ ਸਖੀ ॥੨॥੧॥੧੫੭॥ |
| kahu naanak log alogee ree sakhee ||2||1||157|| |
