| ਗੁਰ ਸਿਉ ਨੇਤ ਧਿਆਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| gur sio naeth dhhiaan haan || |
| meditate continually on the Guru. |

| ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਸੰਤ ਮੰਤ ਗਿਆਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| dhrirr santh manth giaan haan || |
| Install the wisdom of the Saints' Mantra. |
|
| ਸੇਵਾ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| saevaa gur charaan haan || |
| Serve the Feet of the Guru, |
|
| ਤਉ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਗੁਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| tho mileeai gur kirapaan maerae manaa ||1|| rehaao || |
| and you shall meet Him, by Guru's Grace, O my mind. ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਟੂਟੇ ਅਨ ਭਰਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| ttoottae an bharaan haan || |
| All doubts are dispelled, |
|
| ਰਵਿਓ ਸਰਬ ਥਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| raviou sarab thhaan haan || |
| and the Lord is seen to be pervading all places. |
|
| ਲਹਿਓ ਜਮ ਭਇਆਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| lehiou jam bhaeiaan haan || |
| The fear of death is dispelled, |
|
| ਪਾਇਓ ਪੇਡ ਥਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| paaeiou paedd thhaan haan || |
| and the primal place is obtained. |
|
| ਤਉ ਚੂਕੀ ਸਗਲ ਕਾਨਿ ॥੧॥ |
| tho chookee sagal kaan ||1|| |
| Then, all subservience is removed. ||1|| |
|
| ਲਹਨੋ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਥਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| lehano jis mathhaan haan || |
| One who has such destiny recorded upon his forehead, obtains it; |
|
| ਭੈ ਪਾਵਕ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| bhai paavak paar paraan haan || |
| he crosses over the terrifying ocean of fire. |
|
| ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਥਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| nij ghar thisehi thhaan haan || |
| He obtains a place in the home of his own self, |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਰਸਹਿ ਮਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| har ras rasehi maan haan || |
| and enjoys the most sublime essence of the Lord's essence. |
|
| ਲਾਥੀ ਤਿਸ ਭੁਖਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| laathhee this bhukhaan haan || |
| His hunger is appeased; |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਓ ਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੫੮॥ |
| naanak sehaj samaaeiou rae manaa ||2||2||158|| |
| Nanak, he is absorbed in celestial peace, O my mind. ||2||2||158|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨੀ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| har har har gunee haan || |
| Sing the Praises of the Lord, Har, Har, Har. |
|
| ਜਪੀਐ ਸਹਜ ਧੁਨੀ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| japeeai sehaj dhhunee haan || |
| Meditate on the celestial music. |
|
| ਸਾਧੂ ਰਸਨ ਭਨੀ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| saadhhoo rasan bhanee haan || |
| The tongues of the holy Saints repeat it. |
|
| ਛੂਟਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੁਨੀ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| shhoottan bidhh sunee haan || |
| I have heard that this is the way to emancipation. |
|
| ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡ ਪੁਨੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| paaeeai vadd punee maerae manaa ||1|| rehaao || |
| This is found by the greatest merit, O my mind. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਖੋਜਹਿ ਜਨ ਮੁਨੀ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| khojehi jan munee haan || |
| The silent sages search for Him. |
|
| ਸ੍ਰਬ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਨੀ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| srab kaa prabh dhhanee haan || |
| God is the Master of all. |
|
| ਦੁਲਭ ਕਲਿ ਦੁਨੀ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| dhulabh kal dhunee haan || |
| It is so difficult to find Him in this world, in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga. |
|
| ਦੂਖ ਬਿਨਾਸਨੀ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| dhookh binaasanee haan || |
| He is the Dispeller of distress. |
|
| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਨੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ |
| prabh pooran aasanee maerae manaa ||1|| |
| God is the Fulfiller of desires, O my mind. ||1|| |
|
| ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵੀਐ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| alakh abhaeveeai haan || |
| He is unknowable and inscrutable. |
|
| ਤਾਂ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| thaan sio preeth kar haan || |
| Enshrine love for Him. |
|
| ਬਿਨਸਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਮਰਿ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| binas n jaae mar haan || |
| He does not perish, or go away, or die. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| gur thae jaaniaa haan || |
| He is known only through the Guru. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੨॥੩॥੧੫੯॥ |
| naanak man maaniaa maerae manaa ||2||3||159|| |
| Nanak, my mind is satisfied with the Lord, O my mind. ||2||3||159|| |

| ਏਕਾ ਓਟ ਗਹੁ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| eaekaa outt gahu haan || |
| Grab hold of the Support of the One Lord. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਹੁ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| gur kaa sabadh kahu haan || |
| Chant the Word of the Guru's Shabad. |
|
| ਆਗਿਆ ਸਤਿ ਸਹੁ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| aagiaa sath sahu haan || |
| Submit to the Order of the True Lord. |
|
| ਮਨਹਿ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਲਹੁ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| manehi nidhhaan lahu haan || |
| Receive the treasure in your mind. |
|
| ਸੁਖਹਿ ਸਮਾਈਐ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| sukhehi samaaeeai maerae manaa ||1|| rehaao || |
| Thus you shall be absorbed in peace, O my mind. ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਜੀਵਤ ਜੋ ਮਰੈ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| jeevath jo marai haan || |
| One who is dead while yet alive, |
|
| ਦੁਤਰੁ ਸੋ ਤਰੈ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| dhuthar so tharai haan || |
| crosses over the terrifying world-ocean. |
|
| ਸਭ ਕੀ ਰੇਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| sabh kee raen hoe haan || |
| One who becomes the dust of all |
|
| ਨਿਰਭਉ ਕਹਉ ਸੋਇ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| nirabho keho soe haan || |
| he alone is called fearless. |
|
| ਮਿਟੇ ਅੰਦੇਸਿਆ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| mittae andhaesiaa haan || |
| His anxieties are removed |
|
| ਸੰਤ ਉਪਦੇਸਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ |
| santh oupadhaesiaa maerae manaa ||1|| |
| by the Teachings of the Saints, O my mind. ||1|| |
|
| ਜਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਖੁ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| jis jan naam sukh haan || |
| That humble being, who takes happiness in the Naam, the Name of the Lord |
|
| ਤਿਸੁ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਕਦੇ ਦੁਖੁ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| this nikatt n kadhae dhukh haan || |
| pain never draws near him. |
|
| ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਨੇ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| jo har har jas sunae haan || |
| One who listens to the Praise of the Lord, Har, Har, |
|
| ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਮੰਨੇ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| sabh ko this mannae haan || |
| is obeyed by all men. |
|
| ਸਫਲੁ ਸੁ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ ॥ |
| safal s aaeiaa haan || |
| How fortunate it is that he came into the world; |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਇਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੨॥੪॥੧੬੦॥ |
