| I am the lowest slave of Your slaves; I am Your most humble servant. |

| As You keep me, I live. Your Name is in my mouth. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀ ਪਿਆਸਾ ਘਣੀ ਭਾਣੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਈਐ ॥ |
| dharasan kee piaasaa ghanee bhaanai man bhaaeeai || |
| I have such a great thirst for the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan; my mind accepts Your Will, and so You are pleased with me. |

| ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹਾਥਿ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ਭਾਣੈ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੨॥ |
| maerae thaakur haathh vaddiaaeeaa bhaanai path paaeeai ||2|| |
| Greatness is in the Hands of my Lord and Master; by His Will, honor is obtained. ||2|| |
|
| ਸਾਚਉ ਦੂਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਹੈ ਸੋਈ ॥ |
| saacho dhoor n jaaneeai anthar hai soee || |
| Do not think that the True Lord is far away; He is deep within. |
|
| ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਰਵਿ ਰਹੇ ਕਿਨਿ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੩॥ |
| jeh dhaekhaa theh rav rehae kin keemath hoee ||3|| |
| Wherever I look, there I find Him pervading; how can I estimate His value? ||3|| |
|
| ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਆਪੇ ਹਰੇ ਵੇਖੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ |
| aap karae aapae harae vaekhai vaddiaaee || |
| He Himself does, and He Himself undoes. He Himself beholds His glorious greatness. |

| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਹਾਲੀਐ ਇਉ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੪॥ |
| guramukh hoe nihaaleeai eio keemath paaee ||4|| |
| Becoming Gurmukh, one beholds Him, and so, His value is appraised. ||4|| |
|
| ਜੀਵਦਿਆ ਲਾਹਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਗੁਰ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥ |
| jeevadhiaa laahaa milai gur kaar kamaavai || |
| So earn your profits while you are alive, by serving the Guru. |
|
| ਪੂਰਬਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੫॥ |
| poorab hovai likhiaa thaa sathigur paavai ||5|| |
| If it is so pre-ordained, then one finds the True Guru. ||5|| |
|
| ਮਨਮੁਖ ਤੋਟਾ ਨਿਤ ਹੈ ਭਰਮਹਿ ਭਰਮਾਏ ॥ |
| manamukh thottaa nith hai bharamehi bharamaaeae || |
| The self-willed manmukhs continually lose, and wander around, deluded by doubt. |
|
| ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਅੰਧੁ ਨ ਚੇਤਈ ਕਿਉ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੬॥ |
| manamukh andhh n chaethee kio dharasan paaeae ||6|| |
| The blind manmukhs do not remember the Lord; how can they obtain the Blessed Vision of His Darshan? ||6|| |
|
| ਤਾ ਜਗਿ ਆਇਆ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਸਾਚੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥ |
| thaa jag aaeiaa jaaneeai saachai liv laaeae || |
| One's coming into the world is judged worthwhile only if one lovingly attunes oneself to the True Lord. |

| ਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਪਾਰਸੁ ਭਏ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੭॥ |
| gur bhaettae paaras bheae jothee joth milaaeae ||7|| |
| Meeting the Guru, one becomes invaluable; his light merges into the Light. ||7|| |
|
| ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਰਹੈ ਨਿਰਾਲਮੋ ਕਾਰ ਧੁਰ ਕੀ ਕਰਣੀ ॥ |
| ahinis rehai niraalamo kaar dhhur kee karanee || |
| Day and night, he remains detached, and serves the Primal Lord. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੀਆ ਰਾਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ॥੮॥੧੯॥ |
| naanak naam santhokheeaa raathae har charanee ||8||19|| |
| O Nanak, those who are imbued with the Lord's Lotus Feet, are content with the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||8||19|| |

| ਕੇਤਾ ਆਖਣੁ ਆਖੀਐ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਅੰਤ ਨ ਜਾਣਾ ॥ |
| kaethaa aakhan aakheeai thaa kae anth n jaanaa || |
| No matter how much one may describe the Lord, His limits still cannot be known. |

| ਮੈ ਨਿਧਰਿਆ ਧਰ ਏਕ ਤੂੰ ਮੈ ਤਾਣੁ ਸਤਾਣਾ ॥੧॥ |
| mai nidhhariaa dhhar eaek thoon mai thaan sathaanaa ||1|| |
| I am without any support; You, O Lord, are my only Support; You are my almighty power. ||1|| |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਹੈ ਸਚ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ॥ |
| naanak kee aradhaas hai sach naam suhaelaa || |
| This is Nanak's prayer, that he may be adorned with the True Name. |

| ਆਪੁ ਗਇਆ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਮੇਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| aap gaeiaa sojhee pee gur sabadhee maelaa ||1|| rehaao || |
| When self-conceit is eradicated, and understanding is obtained, one meets the Lord, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਹਉਮੈ ਗਰਬੁ ਗਵਾਈਐ ਪਾਈਐ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ |
| houmai garab gavaaeeai paaeeai veechaar || |
| Abandoning egotism and pride, one obtains contemplative understanding. |
|
| ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਦੇ ਸਾਚੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥੨॥ |
| saahib sio man maaniaa dhae saach adhhaar ||2|| |
| When the mind surrenders to the Lord Master, He bestows the support of the Truth. ||2|| |
|
| ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੀਆ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਈ ॥ |
| ahinis naam santhokheeaa saevaa sach saaee || |
| Day and night, remain content with the Naam, the Name of the Lord; that is the true service. |

| ਤਾ ਕਉ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਲਾਗਈ ਚਾਲੈ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਰਜਾਈ ॥੩॥ |
| thaa ko bighan n laagee chaalai hukam rajaaee ||3|| |
| No misfortune troubles one who follows the Command of the Lord's Will. ||3|| |
|
| ਹੁਕਮਿ ਰਜਾਈ ਜੋ ਚਲੈ ਸੋ ਪਵੈ ਖਜਾਨੈ ॥ |
| hukam rajaaee jo chalai so pavai khajaanai || |
| One who follows the Command of the Lord's Will is taken into the Lord's Treasury. |

| ਖੋਟੇ ਠਵਰ ਨ ਪਾਇਨੀ ਰਲੇ ਜੂਠਾਨੈ ॥੪॥ |
| khottae thavar n paaeinee ralae joothaanai ||4|| |
| The counterfeit find no place there; they are mixed with the false ones. ||4|| |
|
| ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਖਰਾ ਸਮਾਲੀਐ ਸਚੁ ਸਉਦਾ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ |
| nith nith kharaa samaaleeai sach soudhaa paaeeai || |
| Forever and ever, the genuine coins are treasured; with them, the true merchandise is purchased. |
|
| ਖੋਟੇ ਨਦਰਿ ਨ ਆਵਨੀ ਲੇ ਅਗਨਿ ਜਲਾਈਐ ॥੫॥ |
| khottae nadhar n aavanee lae agan jalaaeeai ||5|| |
| The false ones are not seen in the Lord's Treasury; they are seized and cast into the fire again. ||5|| |
|
| ਜਿਨੀ ਆਤਮੁ ਚੀਨਿਆ ਪਰਮਾਤਮੁ ਸੋਈ ॥ |
| jinee aatham cheeniaa paramaatham soee || |
| Those who understand their own souls, are themselves the Supreme Soul. |
|
| ਏਕੋ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਿਰਖੁ ਹੈ ਫਲੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੬॥ |
| eaeko anmrith birakh hai fal anmrith hoee ||6|| |
| The One Lord is the tree of ambrosial nectar, which bears the ambrosial fruit. ||6|| |
|
| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਫਲੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੇ ਅਘਾਈ ॥ |
| anmrith fal jinee chaakhiaa sach rehae aghaaee || |
| Those who taste the ambrosial fruit remain satisfied with Truth. |

| ਤਿੰਨਾ ਭਰਮੁ ਨ ਭੇਦੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਨ ਰਸਾਈ ॥੭॥ |
| thinnaa bharam n bhaedh hai har rasan rasaaee ||7|| |
| They have no doubt or sense of separation - their tongues taste the divine taste. ||7|| |
|
| ਹੁਕਮਿ ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ਆਇਆ ਚਲੁ ਸਦਾ ਰਜਾਈ ॥ |
| hukam sanjogee aaeiaa chal sadhaa rajaaee || |
| By His Command, and through your past actions, you came into the world; walk forever according to His Will. |

| ਅਉਗਣਿਆਰੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਣੁ ਨਾਨਕੈ ਸਚੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਾਈ ॥੮॥੨੦॥ |
| aouganiaarae ko gun naanakai sach milai vaddaaee ||8||20|| |
| Please, grant virtue to Nanak, the virtueless one; bless him with the glorious greatness of the Truth. ||8||20|| |

| ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਉ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਇ ਸਚੁ ਵਖਾਣਿਆ ॥ |
| man raatho har naae sach vakhaaniaa || |
| One whose mind is attuned to the Lord's Name speaks the truth. |
|
| ਜਉ ਲਗੁ ਜੀਉ ਪਰਾਣ ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥ |
| jo lag jeeo paraan sach dhhiaaeeai || |
| As long as there is the breath of life, meditate on the True Lord. |
|
| ਲਾਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| laahaa har gun gaae milai sukh paaeeai ||1|| rehaao || |
| You shall receive the profit of singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and find peace. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਸਚੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਕਾਰ ਦੇਹਿ ਦਇਆਲ ਤੂੰ ॥ |
| sachee thaeree kaar dhaehi dhaeiaal thoon || |
| True is Your Service; bless me with it, O Merciful Lord. |
|
| ਹਉ ਜੀਵਾ ਤੁਧੁ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ਮੈ ਟੇਕ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਤੂੰ ॥੨॥ |
| ho jeevaa thudhh saalaahi mai ttaek adhhaar thoon ||2|| |
| I live by praising You; You are my Anchor and Support. ||2|| |
|
| ਦਰਿ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਦਰਵਾਨੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣਹੀ ॥ |
| dhar saevak dharavaan dharadh thoon jaanehee || |
| I am Your servant, the gate-keeper at Your Gate; You alone know my pain. |

| ਭਗਤਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੈਰਾਨੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਗਵਾਵਹੀ ॥੩॥ |
| bhagath thaeree hairaan dharadh gavaavehee ||3|| |
| How wonderful is Your devotional worship! It removes all pains. ||3|| |
|
| ਦਰਗਹ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਦੂਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਣਸੀ ॥ |
| dharageh naam hadhoor guramukh jaanasee || |
| The Gurmukhs know that by chanting the Naam, they shall dwell in His Court, in His Presence. |

| ਵੇਲਾ ਸਚੁ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਪਛਾਣਸੀ ॥੪॥ |
| vaelaa sach paravaan sabadh pashhaanasee ||4|| |
| True and acceptable is that time, when one recognizes the Word of the Shabad. ||4|| |
|
| ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਕਰਿ ਭਾਉ ਤੋਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੇਇ ॥ |
| sath santhokh kar bhaao thosaa har naam saee || |
| Those who practice Truth, contentment and love, obtain the supplies of the Lord's Name. |
|
| ਮਨਹੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਸਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਦੇਇ ॥੫॥ |
| manahu shhodd vikaar sachaa sach dhaee ||5|| |
| So banish corruption from your mind, and the True One will grant you Truth. ||5|| |
|
| ਸਚੇ ਸਚਾ ਨੇਹੁ ਸਚੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ |
| sachae sachaa naehu sachai laaeiaa || |
| The True Lord inspires true love in the truthful. |
|
| ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ ਨਿਆਉ ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਇਆ ॥੬॥ |
| aapae karae niaao jo this bhaaeiaa ||6|| |
| He Himself administers justice, as it pleases His Will. ||6|| |
|
| ਸਚੇ ਸਚੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਹਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੈ ॥ |
| sachae sachee dhaath dhaehi dhaeiaal hai || |
| True is the gift of the True, Compassionate Lord. |
