ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਚਖਾਇਓਨੁ ਰਸੁ ਆਇਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥ |
anmrith jinhaa chakhaaeioun ras aaeiaa sehaj subhaae || |
Those whom the Lord has caused to drink in the Ambrosial Nectar, naturally, intuitively, enjoy the sublime essence. |
|
ਸਚਾ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹੁ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਤਿਲੁ ਨ ਤਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ |
sachaa vaeparavaahu hai this no thil n thamaae ||1|| |
The True Lord is care-free; he does not have even an iota of greed. ||1|| |
|
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸਚਾ ਵਰਸਦਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇ ॥ |
anmrith sachaa varasadhaa guramukhaa mukh paae || |
The True Ambrosial Nectar rains down, and trickles into the mouths of the Gurmukhs. |

ਮਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਹਰੀਆਵਲਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
man sadhaa hareeaavalaa sehajae har gun gaae ||1|| rehaao || |
Their minds are forever rejuvenated, and they naturally, intuitively, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||Pause|| |
|
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਸਦਾ ਦੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਦਰਿ ਖੜੀਆ ਬਿਲਲਾਹਿ ॥ |
manamukh sadhaa dhohaaganee dhar kharreeaa bilalaahi || |
The self-willed manmukhs are forever forsaken brides; they cry out and bewail at the Lord's Gate. |
|
ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਪਿਰ ਕਾ ਸੁਆਦੁ ਨ ਆਇਓ ਜੋ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸ+ ਕਮਾਹਿ ॥੨॥ |
jinhaa pir kaa suaadh n aaeiou jo dhhur likhiaa suo kamaahi ||2|| |
Those who do not enjoy the sublime taste of their Husband Lord, act according to their pre-ordained destiny. ||2|| |
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੀਜੇ ਸਚੁ ਜਮੈ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਾਪਾਰੁ ॥ |
guramukh beejae sach jamai sach naam vaapaar || |
The Gurmukh plants the seed of the True Name, and it sprouts. He deals in the True Name alone. |

ਜੋ ਇਤੁ ਲਾਹੈ ਲਾਇਅਨੁ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇਇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥੩॥ |
jo eith laahai laaeian bhagathee dhaee bhanddaar ||3|| |
Those whom the Lord has attached to this profitable venture, are granted the treasure of devotional worship. ||3|| |
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਭੈ ਭਗਤਿ ਸੀਗਾਰਿ ॥ |
guramukh sadhaa sohaaganee bhai bhagath seegaar || |
The Gurmukh is forever the true, happy soul-bride; she adorns herself with the fear of God and devotion to Him. |
|
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਵਹਿ ਪਿਰੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਚੁ ਰਖਹਿ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥੪॥ |
anadhin raavehi pir aapanaa sach rakhehi our dhhaar ||4|| |
Night and day, she enjoys her Husband Lord; she keeps Truth enshrined within her heart. ||4|| |

ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥ |
jinhaa pir raaviaa aapanaa thinhaa vittahu bal jaao || |
I am a sacrifice to those who have enjoyed their Husband Lord. |
|
ਸਦਾ ਪਿਰ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਹਹਿ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥੫॥ |
sadhaa pir kai sang rehehi vichahu aap gavaae ||5|| |
They dwell forever with their Husband Lord; they eradicate self-conceit from within. ||5|| |
|
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ਪਿਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥ |
than man seethal mukh oujalae pir kai bhaae piaar || |
Their bodies and minds are cooled and soothed, and their faces are radiant, from the love and affection of their Husband Lord. |
|
ਸੇਜ ਸੁਖਾਲੀ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਵੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਮਾਰਿ ॥੬॥ |
saej sukhaalee pir ravai houmai thrisanaa maar ||6|| |
They enjoy their Husband Lord upon His cozy bed, having conquered their ego and desire. ||6|| |
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਹੇਤਿ ਅਪਾਰਿ ॥ |
kar kirapaa ghar aaeiaa gur kai haeth apaar || |
Granting His Grace, He comes into our homes, through our infinite Love for the Guru. |
|
ਵਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਕੇਵਲ ਏਕੁ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥੭॥ |
var paaeiaa sohaaganee kaeval eaek muraar ||7|| |
The happy soul-bride obtains the One Lord as her Husband. ||7|| |

ਸਭੇ ਗੁਨਹ ਬਖਸਾਇ ਲਇਓਨੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਮੇਲਣਹਾਰਿ ॥ |
sabhae guneh bakhasaae laeioun maelae maelanehaar || |
All of her sins are forgiven; the Uniter unites her with Himself. |

ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਣੁ ਆਖੀਐ ਜੇ ਸੁਣਿ ਧਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥੮॥੧੨॥੩੪॥ |
naanak aakhan aakheeai jae sun dhharae piaar ||8||12||34|| |
O Nanak, chant such chants, that hearing them, He may enshrine love for you. ||8||12||34|| |

ਸਹਜੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ |
sehajae naam dhhiaaeeai giaan paragatt hoe ||1|| |
Meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, with intuitive ease and poise, spiritual wisdom is revealed. ||1|| |

ਏ ਮਨ ਮਤ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਹੈ ਸਦਾ ਵੇਖੁ ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥ |
eae man math jaanehi har dhoor hai sadhaa vaekh hadhoor || |
O my mind, do not think of the Lord as being far away; behold Him ever close at hand. |
|
ਸਦ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਸਦ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
sadh sunadhaa sadh vaekhadhaa sabadh rehiaa bharapoor ||1|| rehaao || |
He is always listening, and always watching over us; the Word of His Shabad is all-pervading everywhere. ||1||Pause|| |

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ |
guramukh aap pashhaaniaa thinhee eik man dhhiaaeiaa || |
The Gurmukhs understand their own selves; they meditate single-mindedly on the Lord. |
|
ਸਦਾ ਰਵਹਿ ਪਿਰੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ |
sadhaa ravehi pir aapanaa sachai naam sukh paaeiaa ||2|| |
They enjoy their Husband Lord continually; through the True Name, they find peace. ||2|| |
|
ਏ ਮਨ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ |
eae man thaeraa ko nehee kar vaekh sabadh veechaar || |
O my mind, no one belongs to you; contemplate the Shabad, and see this. |
|
ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਭਜਿ ਪਉ ਪਾਇਹਿ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥੩॥ |
har saranaaee bhaj po paaeihi mokh dhuaar ||3|| |
So run to the Lord's Sanctuary, and find the gate of salvation. ||3|| |

ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਣੀਐ ਸਬਦਿ ਬੁਝੀਐ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ |
sabadh suneeai sabadh bujheeai sach rehai liv laae || |
Listen to the Shabad, and understand the Shabad, and lovingly focus your consciousness on the True One. |
|
ਸਬਦੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀਐ ਸਚੈ ਮਹਲਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇ ॥੪॥ |
sabadhae houmai maareeai sachai mehal sukh paae ||4|| |
Through the Shabad, conquer your ego, and in the True Mansion of the Lord's Presence, you shall find peace. ||4|| |

ਇਸੁ ਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਸੋਭ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥ |
eis jug mehi sobhaa naam kee bin naavai sobh n hoe || |
In this age, the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is glory; without the Name, there is no glory. |
|
ਇਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਚਾਰਿ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਜਾਦੀ ਬਿਲਮੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੫॥ |
eih maaeiaa kee sobhaa chaar dhihaarrae jaadhee bilam n hoe ||5|| |
The glory of this Maya lasts for only a few days; it disappears in an instant. ||5|| |
|
ਜਿਨੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਸੇ ਮੁਏ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ |
jinee naam visaariaa sae mueae mar jaahi || |
Those who forget the Naam are already dead, and they continue dying. |
|
ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਸਾਦੁ ਨ ਆਇਓ ਬਿਸਟਾ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੬॥ |
har ras saadh n aaeiou bisattaa maahi samaahi ||6|| |
They do not enjoy the sublime essence of the Lord's taste; they sink into the manure. ||6|| |
|
ਇਕਿ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਅਨੁ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੇ ਲਾਇ ॥ |
eik aapae bakhas milaaeian anadhin naamae laae || |
Some are forgiven by the Lord; He unites them with Himself, and keeps them attached to the Naam, night and day. |
|
ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਸਚਿ ਰਹਹਿ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੭॥ |
sach kamaavehi sach rehehi sachae sach samaahi ||7|| |
They practice Truth, and abide in Truth; being truthful, they merge into Truth. ||7|| |
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਸੁਣੀਐ ਨ ਦੇਖੀਐ ਜਗੁ ਬੋਲਾ ਅੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਭਰਮਾਇ ॥ |
bin sabadhai suneeai n dhaekheeai jag bolaa annhaa bharamaae || |
Without the Shabad, the world does not hear, and does not see; deaf and blind, it wanders around. |
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਸੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਿਸੈ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੮॥ |
bin naavai dhukh paaeisee naam milai thisai rajaae ||8|| |
Without the Naam, it obtains only misery; the Naam is received only by His Will. ||8|| |

ਜਿਨ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਿਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥ |
jin baanee sio chith laaeiaa sae jan niramal paravaan || |
Those persons who link their consciousness with the Word of His Bani, are immaculately pure, and approved by the Lord. |
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਸੇ ਦਰਿ ਸਚੇ ਜਾਣੁ ॥੯॥੧੩॥੩੫॥ |
naanak naam thinhaa kadhae n veesarai sae dhar sachae jaan ||9||13||35|| |
O Nanak, they never forget the Naam, and in the Court of the Lord, they are known as true. ||9||13||35|| |

ਸਬਦੌ ਹੀ ਭਗਤ ਜਾਪਦੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਚੀ ਹੋਇ ॥ |
sabadha hee bhagath jaapadhae jinh kee baanee sachee hoe || |
Through the Word of the Shabad, the devotees are known; their words are true. |

ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਇਆ ਨਾਉ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਸਚਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ |
vichahu aap gaeiaa naao manniaa sach milaavaa hoe ||1|| |
They eradicate ego from within themselves; they surrender to the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and meet with the True One. ||1|| |
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥ |
har har naam jan kee path hoe || |
Through the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, His humble servants obtain honor. |
|
ਸਫਲੁ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਕਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਹੈ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਮਾਨੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
safal thinhaa kaa janam hai thinh maanai sabh koe ||1|| rehaao || |
How blessed is their coming into the world! Everyone adores them. ||1||Pause|| |
|
ਹਉਮੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਜਾਤਿ ਹੈ ਅਤਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥ |
houmai maeraa jaath hai ath krodhh abhimaan || |
Ego, self-centeredness, excessive anger and pride are the lot of mankind. |
|
ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰੈ ਤਾ ਜਾਤਿ ਜਾਇ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਭਗਵਾਨੁ ॥੨॥ |
sabadh marai thaa jaath jaae jothee joth milai bhagavaan ||2|| |
If one dies in the Word of the Shabad, then he is rid of this, and his light is merged into the Light of the Lord God. ||2|| |
|
ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥ |
pooraa sathigur bhaettiaa safal janam hamaaraa || |
Meeting with the Perfect True Guru, my life has been blessed. |

ਨਾਮੁ ਨਵੈ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਭਰੇ ਅਖੁਟ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥੩॥ |
naam navai nidhh paaeiaa bharae akhutt bhanddaaraa ||3|| |
I have obtained the nine treasures of the Naam, and my storehouse is inexhaustible, filled to overflowing. ||3|| |
|
ਆਵਹਿ ਇਸੁ ਰਾਸੀ ਕੇ ਵਾਪਾਰੀਏ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ॥ |
aavehi eis raasee kae vaapaareeeae jinhaa naam piaaraa || |
Those who love the Naam come as dealers in the merchandise of the Naam. |

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਏ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਾ ॥੪॥ |
guramukh hovai so dhhan paaeae thinhaa anthar sabadh veechaaraa ||4|| |
Those who become Gurmukh obtain this wealth; deep within, they contemplate the Shabad. ||4|| |
