| maeraa mano maeraa man raathaa raam piaarae raam || |
| My mind, my mind is attuned to the Love of my Beloved Lord. |

| ਸਚੁ ਸਾਹਿਬੋ ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੋ ਧਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| sach saahibo aadh purakh aparanparo dhhaarae raam || |
| The True Lord Master, the Primal Being, the Infinite One, is the Support of the earth. |
|
| ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਅਪਰ ਅਪਾਰਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਧਾਨੋ ॥ |
| agam agochar apar apaaraa paarabreham paradhhaano || |
| He is unfathomable, unapproachable, infinite and incomparable. He is the Supreme Lord God, the Lord above all. |
|
| ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦੀ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਹੋਸੀ ਅਵਰੁ ਝੂਠਾ ਸਭੁ ਮਾਨੋ ॥ |
| aadh jugaadhee hai bhee hosee avar jhoothaa sabh maano || |
| He is the Lord, from the beginning, throughout the ages, now and forevermore; know that all else is false. |
|
| ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਕੀ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਿਉ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ |
| karam dhharam kee saar n jaanai surath mukath kio paaeeai || |
| If one does not appreciate the value of good deeds and Dharmic faith, how can one obtain clarity of consciousness and liberation? |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧॥ |
| naanak guramukh sabadh pashhaanai ahinis naam dhhiaaeeai ||1|| |
| O Nanak, the Gurmukh realizes the Word of the Shabad; night and day, he meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1|| |
|
| ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਖਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ |

| My mind, my mind has come to accept, that the Naam is our only Friend. |

| ਹਉਮੈ ਮਮਤਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| houmai mamathaa maaeiaa sang n jaaee raam || |
| Egotism, worldly attachment, and the lures of Maya shall not go with you. |
|
| ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤ ਭਾਈ ਸੁਤ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਸੰਪੈ ਨਾਰੇ ॥ |
| maathaa pith bhaaee suth chathuraaee sang n sanpai naarae || |
| Mother, father, famliy, children, cleverness, property and spouses - none of these shall go with you. |
|
| ਸਾਇਰ ਕੀ ਪੁਤ੍ਰੀ ਪਰਹਰਿ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਚਰਣ ਤਲੈ ਵੀਚਾਰੇ ॥ |
| saaeir kee puthree parehar thiaagee charan thalai veechaarae || |
| I have renounced Maya, the daughter of the ocean; reflecting upon reality, I have trampled it under my feet. |
|
| ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖਿ ਇਕੁ ਚਲਤੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਸੋਈ ॥ |
| aadh purakh eik chalath dhikhaaeiaa jeh dhaekhaa theh soee || |
| The Primal Lord has revealed this wondrous show; wherever I look, there I see Him. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਛੋਡਉ ਸਹਜੇ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੨॥ |
| naanak har kee bhagath n shhoddo sehajae hoe s hoee ||2|| |
| O Nanak, I shall not forsake the Lord's devotional worship; in the natural course, what shall be, shall be. ||2|| |
|
| ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਸਮਾਲੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| maeraa mano maeraa man niramal saach samaalae raam || |
| My mind, my mind has become immaculately pure, contemplating the True Lord. |

| ਅਵਗਣ ਮੇਟਿ ਚਲੇ ਗੁਣ ਸੰਗਮ ਨਾਲੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| avagan maett chalae gun sangam naalae raam || |
| I have dispelled my vices, and now I walk in the company of the virtuous. |
|
| ਅਵਗਣ ਪਰਹਰਿ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਦਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਚਿਆਰੋ ॥ |
| avagan parehar karanee saaree dhar sachai sachiaaro || |
| Discarding my vices, I do good deeds, and in the True Court, I am judged as true. |
|
| ਆਵਣੁ ਜਾਵਣੁ ਠਾਕਿ ਰਹਾਏ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਤੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੋ ॥ |
| aavan jaavan thaak rehaaeae guramukh thath veechaaro || |
| My coming and going has come to an end; as Gurmukh, I reflect upon the nature of reality. |
|
| ਸਾਜਨੁ ਮੀਤੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੁ ਸਖਾ ਤੂੰ ਸਚਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ |
| saajan meeth sujaan sakhaa thoon sach milai vaddiaaee || |
| O my Dear Friend, You are my all-knowing companion; grant me the glory of Your True Name. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਐਸੀ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੩॥ |
| naanak naam rathan paragaasiaa aisee guramath paaee ||3|| |
| O Nanak, the jewel of the Naam has been revealed to me; such are the Teachings I have received from the Guru. ||3|| |

| ਸਚੁ ਅੰਜਨੋ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਸਾਰਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| sach anjano anjan saar niranjan raathaa raam || |
| I have carefully applied the healing ointment to my eyes, and I am attuned to the Immaculate Lord. |
|
| ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| man than rav rehiaa jagajeevano dhaathaa raam || |
| He is permeating my mind and body, the Life of the world, the Lord, the Great Giver. |
|
| ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਮੇਲਾਇਆ ॥ |
| jagajeevan dhaathaa har man raathaa sehaj milai maelaaeiaa || |
| My mind is imbued with the Lord, the Great Giver, the Life of the world; I have merged and blended with Him, with intuitive ease. |
|
| ਸਾਧ ਸਭਾ ਸੰਤਾ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਦਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| saadhh sabhaa santhaa kee sangath nadhar prabhoo sukh paaeiaa || |
| In the Company of the Holy, and the Saints' Society, by God's Grace, peace is obtained. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਰਤੇ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਚੂਕੇ ਮੋਹ ਪਿਆਸਾ ॥ |
| har kee bhagath rathae bairaagee chookae moh piaasaa || |
| The renunciates remain absorbed in devotional worship to the Lord; they are rid of emotional attachment and desire. |

| You are everywhere, wherever I go, O True Creator Lord. |

| ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਕਰਮ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਸਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥ |
| sabhanaa kaa dhaathaa karam bidhhaathaa dhookh bisaaranehaar jeeo || |
| You are the Giver of all, the Architect of Destiny, the Dispeller of distress. |
|
| ਦੂਖ ਬਿਸਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਹੋਵੈ ॥ |
| dhookh bisaaranehaar suaamee keethaa jaa kaa hovai || |
| The Lord Master is the Dispeller of distress; all that happens is by His doing. |
|
| ਕੋਟ ਕੋਟੰਤਰ ਪਾਪਾ ਕੇਰੇ ਏਕ ਘੜੀ ਮਹਿ ਖੋਵੈ ॥ |
| kott kottanthar paapaa kaerae eaek gharree mehi khovai || |
| Millions upon millions of sins, He destroys in an instant. |
|
| ਹੰਸ ਸਿ ਹੰਸਾ ਬਗ ਸਿ ਬਗਾ ਘਟ ਘਟ ਕਰੇ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥ |
| hans s hansaa bag s bagaa ghatt ghatt karae beechaar jeeo || |
| He calls a swan a swan, and a crane a crane; He contemplates each and every heart. |

| ਤੂੰ ਸਭਨੀ ਥਾਈ ਜਿਥੈ ਹਉ ਜਾਈ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ |
| thoon sabhanee thhaaee jithhai ho jaaee saachaa sirajanehaar jeeo ||1|| |

| Those who meditate on Him single-mindedly obtain peace; how rare are they in this world. |

| ਤਿਨ ਜਮੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਆਵਹਿ ਹਾਰਿ ਜੀਉ ॥ |
| thin jam naerr n aavai gur sabadh kamaavai kabahu n aavehi haar jeeo || |
| The Messenger of Death does not draw near those who live the Guru's Teachings; they never return defeated. |
|
| ਤੇ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਹਾਰਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰਹਿ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਜਮੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥ |
| thae kabahu n haarehi har har gun saarehi thinh jam naerr n aavai || |
| Those who appreciate the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har, never suffer defeat; the Messenger of Death does not even approach them. |
|
| ਜੰਮਣੁ ਮਰਣੁ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਕਾ ਚੂਕਾ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਗੇ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ |
| janman maran thinhaa kaa chookaa jo har laagae paavai || |
| Birth and death are ended for those who are attached to the feet of the Lord. |
|
| ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ਜੀਉ ॥ |
| guramath har ras har fal paaeiaa har har naam our dhhaar jeeo || |
| Through the Guru's Teachings, they obtain the sublime essence of the Lord, and the fruit of the Lord; they enshrine the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, in their hearts. |

| ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ |
| jinh eik man dhhiaaeiaa thinh sukh paaeiaa thae viralae sansaar jeeo ||2|| |
| Those who meditate on Him single-mindedly obtain peace; how rare are they in this world. ||2|| |

| ਜਿਨਿ ਜਗਤੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ਧੰਧੈ ਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਸੈ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ਜੀਉ ॥ |
| jin jagath oupaaeiaa dhhandhhai laaeiaa thisai vittahu kurabaan jeeo || |
| He who created the world and assigned all to their tasks - unto Him I am a sacrifice. |
|
| ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਰੀਜੈ ਲਾਹਾ ਲੀਜੈ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਈਐ ਮਾਣੁ ਜੀਉ ॥ |
| thaa kee saev kareejai laahaa leejai har dharageh paaeeai maan jeeo || |
| So serve Him, and gather profit, and you shall obtain honor in the Court of the Lord. |

| ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਾਨੁ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਜੋ ਨਰੁ ਏਕੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥ |
| har dharageh maan soee jan paavai jo nar eaek pashhaanai || |
| That humble being, who recognizes the One Lord alone, obtains honor in the Court of the Lord. |

| ਓਹੁ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਵੈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਨਿਤ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥ |
| ouhu nav nidhh paavai guramath har dhhiaavai nith har gun aakh vakhaanai || |
| One who meditates on the Lord, through the Guru's Teachings, obtains the nine treasures; he chants and repeats continually the Glorious Praises of the Lord. |
|
| ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਿਸੈ ਕਾ ਲੀਜੈ ਹਰਿ ਊਤਮੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪਰਧਾਨੁ ਜੀਉ ॥ |
| ahinis naam thisai kaa leejai har ootham purakh paradhhaan jeeo || |
| Day and night, take the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the most sublime Primal Being. |
|
| ਜਿਨਿ ਜਗਤੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ਧੰਧੈ ਲਾਇਆ ਹਉ ਤਿਸੈ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥ |
| jin jagath oupaaeiaa dhhandhhai laaeiaa ho thisai vittahu kurabaan jeeo ||3|| |

| ਤਿਨ ਫਲ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਜੇ ਜੁਗ ਕੇਤੇ ਜਾਹਿ ਜੀਉ ॥ |
| thin fal thott n aavai jaa this bhaavai jae jug kaethae jaahi jeeo || |
| Their blessings are not exhausted, if it pleases the Lord, even though numerous ages may pass. |
|
| ਜੇ ਜੁਗ ਕੇਤੇ ਜਾਹਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤਿਨ ਫਲ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥ |
| jae jug kaethae jaahi suaamee thin fal thott n aavai || |
| Even though numerous ages may pass, O Lord Master, their blessings are not exhausted. |

| ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਜਰਾ ਨ ਮਰਣਾ ਨਰਕਿ ਨ ਪਰਣਾ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥ |
| thinh jaraa n maranaa narak n paranaa jo har naam dhhiaavai || |
| They do not age, they do not die and fall into hell, if they meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. |

| ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਸਿ ਸੂਕਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੀੜ ਨ ਖਾਹਿ ਜੀਉ ॥ |
| har har karehi s sookehi naahee naanak peerr n khaahi jeeo || |
| Those who chant the Lord's Name, Har, Har, do not wither, O Nanak; they are not afflicted by pain. |
