| ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਏਕੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਲਾਹਿ ਭਰਾਂਤਿ ॥ |
| eik man eaek dhhiaaeeai man kee laahi bharaanth || |
| With one-pointed mind, meditate on the One Lord, and the doubts of your mind will be dispelled. |

| ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਨਵਤਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਦਾਤਿ ॥ |
| gun nidhhaan navathan sadhaa pooran jaa kee dhaath || |
| He is the Treasure of Excellence, the Ever-fresh Being. His Gift is Perfect and Complete. |

| ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਆਰਾਧੀਐ ਦਿਨੁ ਵਿਸਰਹੁ ਨਹੀ ਰਾਤਿ ॥੩॥ |
| sadhaa sadhaa aaraadhheeai dhin visarahu nehee raath ||3|| |
| Forever and ever, worship and adore Him. Day and night, do not forget Him. ||3|| |
|
| ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਸਖਾ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ॥ |
| jin ko poorab likhiaa thin kaa sakhaa govindh || |
| One whose destiny is so pre-ordained, obtains the Lord of the Universe as his Companion. |

| ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਅਰਪੀ ਸਭੋ ਸਗਲ ਵਾਰੀਐ ਇਹ ਜਿੰਦੁ ॥ |
| than man dhhan arapee sabho sagal vaareeai eih jindh || |
| I dedicate my body, mind, wealth and all to Him. I totally sacrifice my soul to Him. |

| ਦੇਖੈ ਸੁਣੈ ਹਦੂਰਿ ਸਦ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਰਵਿੰਦੁ ॥ |
| dhaekhai sunai hadhoor sadh ghatt ghatt breham ravindh || |
| Seeing and hearing, He is always close at hand. In each and every heart, God is pervading. |

| ਅਕਿਰਤਘਣਾ ਨੋ ਪਾਲਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਖਸਿੰਦੁ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੮੩॥ |
| akirathaghanaa no paaladhaa prabh naanak sadh bakhasindh ||4||13||83|| |
| Even the ungrateful ones are cherished by God. O Nanak, He is forever the Forgiver. ||4||13||83|| |

| man than dhhan jin prabh dheeaa rakhiaa sehaj savaar || |
| This mind, body and wealth were given by God, who naturally adorns us. |
|
| ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਪਿਆ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਅਪਾਰ ॥ |
| sarab kalaa kar thhaapiaa anthar joth apaar || |
| He has blessed us with all our energy, and infused His Infinite Light deep within us. |

| ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਿਮਰੀਐ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਖੁ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ |
| sadhaa sadhaa prabh simareeai anthar rakh our dhhaar ||1|| |
| Forever and ever, meditate in remembrance on God; keep Him enshrined in your heart. ||1|| |

| ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
| maerae man har bin avar n koe || |
| O my mind, without the Lord, there is no other at all. |

| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਸਦਾ ਰਹੁ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| prabh saranaaee sadhaa rahu dhookh n viaapai koe ||1|| rehaao || |
| Remain in God's Sanctuary forever, and no suffering shall afflict you. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਰਤਨ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਮਾਣਕਾ ਸੁਇਨਾ ਰੁਪਾ ਖਾਕੁ ॥ |
| rathan padhaarathh maanakaa sueinaa rupaa khaak || |
| Jewels, treasures, pearls, gold and silver-all these are just dust. |

| ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧਪਾ ਕੂੜੇ ਸਭੇ ਸਾਕ ॥ |
| maath pithaa suth bandhhapaa koorrae sabhae saak || |
| Mother, father, children and relatives-all relations are false. |
|
| ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਣਈ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਪਸੁ ਨਾਪਾਕ ॥੨॥ |
| jin keethaa thisehi n jaanee manamukh pas naapaak ||2|| |
| The self-willed manmukh is an insulting beast; he does not acknowledge the One who created him. ||2|| |
|
| ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਜਾਣੈ ਦੂਰਿ ॥ |
| anthar baahar rav rehiaa this no jaanai dhoor || |
| The Lord is pervading within and beyond, and yet people think that He is far away. |
|
| ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਲਾਗੀ ਰਚਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਕੂਰਿ ॥ |
| thrisanaa laagee rach rehiaa anthar houmai koor || |
| They are engrossed in clinging desires; within their hearts there is ego and falsehood. |
|
| ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਹੂਣਿਆ ਆਵਹਿ ਵੰਞਹਿ ਪੂਰ ॥੩॥ |
| bhagathee naam vihooniaa aavehi vannjehi poor ||3|| |
| Without devotion to the Naam, crowds of people come and go. ||3|| |
|
| ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਰਣਹਾਰ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਕਰਿ ਦਇਆ ॥ |
| raakh laehu prabh karanehaar jeea janth kar dhaeiaa || |
| Please preserve Your beings and creatures, God; O Creator Lord, please be merciful! |

| ਬਿਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਰਖਨਹਾਰੁ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਕਟ ਜਮ ਭਇਆ ॥ |
| bin prabh koe n rakhanehaar mehaa bikatt jam bhaeiaa || |
| Without God, there is no saving grace. The Messenger of Death is cruel and unfeeling. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵੀਸਰਉ ਕਰਿ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਮਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੪॥੮੪॥ |
| naanak naam n veesaro kar apunee har maeiaa ||4||14||84|| |
| O Nanak, may I never forget the Naam! Please bless me with Your Mercy, Lord! ||4||14||84|| |

| maeraa than ar dhhan maeraa raaj roop mai dhaes || |
| "My body and my wealth; my ruling power, my beautiful form and country-mine!" |

| ਸੁਤ ਦਾਰਾ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਅਨੇਕ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਰੰਗ ਅਰੁ ਵੇਸ ॥ |
| suth dhaaraa banithaa anaek bahuth rang ar vaes || |
| You may have children, a wife and many mistresses; you may enjoy all sorts of pleasures and fine clothes. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਨ ਵਸਈ ਕਾਰਜਿ ਕਿਤੈ ਨ ਲੇਖਿ ॥੧॥ |
| har naam ridhai n vasee kaaraj kithai n laekh ||1|| |
| And yet, if the Name of the Lord does not abide within the heart, none of it has any use or value. ||1|| |
|
| ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥ |
| maerae man har har naam dhhiaae || |
| O my mind, meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. |
|
| ਕਰਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਿਤ ਸਾਧ ਕੀ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| kar sangath nith saadhh kee gur charanee chith laae ||1|| rehaao || |
| Always keep the Company of the Holy, and focus your consciousness on the Feet of the Guru. ||1||Pause|| |
|
| ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਭਾਗੁ ॥ |
| naam nidhhaan dhhiaaeeai masathak hovai bhaag || |
| Those who have such blessed destiny written on their foreheads meditate on the Treasure of the Naam. |
|
| ਕਾਰਜ ਸਭਿ ਸਵਾਰੀਅਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੁ ॥ |
| kaaraj sabh savaareeahi gur kee charanee laag || |
| All their affairs are brought to fruition, holding onto the Guru's Feet. |
|
| ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਕਟੀਐ ਨਾ ਆਵੈ ਨਾ ਜਾਗੁ ॥੨॥ |
| houmai rog bhram katteeai naa aavai naa jaag ||2|| |
| The diseases of ego and doubt are cast out; they shall not come and go in reincarnation. ||2|| |
|
| ਕਰਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤੂ ਸਾਧ ਕੀ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਨਾਉ ॥ |
| kar sangath thoo saadhh kee athasath theerathh naao || |
| Let the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, be your cleansing baths at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage. |
|
| ਐਥੈ ਮਿਲਹਿ ਵਡਾਈਆ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਥਾਉ ॥੩॥ |
| aithhai milehi vaddaaeeaa dharagehi paavehi thhaao ||3|| |
| In this world you shall be blessed with greatness, and in the Court of the Lord you shall find your place of rest. ||3|| |
|
| ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਏ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਹਾਥਿ ॥ |
| karae karaaeae aap prabh sabh kishh this hee haathh || |
| God Himself acts, and causes others to act; everything is in His Hands. |
|
| ਮਾਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਜੀਵਾਲਦਾ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਸਾਥਿ ॥ |
| maar aapae jeevaaladhaa anthar baahar saathh || |
| He Himself bestows life and death; He is with us, within and beyond. |
|
| ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਸਰਬ ਘਟਾ ਕੇ ਨਾਥ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੮੫॥ |

| Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of God, the Master of all hearts. ||4||15||85|| |

| The Guru is Merciful; we seek the Sanctuary of God. |

| ਸਤਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਉਪਦੇਸਿਐ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸਰਬ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥ |
| sathagur kai oupadhaesiai binasae sarab janjaal || |
| Through the Teachings of the True Guru, all worldly entanglements are eliminated. |

| ਅੰਦਰੁ ਲਗਾ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ॥੧॥ |
| andhar lagaa raam naam anmrith nadhar nihaal ||1|| |
| The Name of the Lord is firmly implanted within my mind; through His Ambrosial Glance of Grace, I am exalted and enraptured. ||1|| |
|
| ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਾਰੁ ॥ |
| man maerae sathigur saevaa saar || |
| O my mind, serve the True Guru. |
|
| ਕਰੇ ਦਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਣੀ ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਮਨਹੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| karae dhaeiaa prabh aapanee eik nimakh n manahu visaar || rehaao || |
| God Himself grants His Grace; do not forget Him, even for an instant. ||Pause|| |

| ਗੁਣ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਨਿਤ ਗਾਵੀਅਹਿ ਅਵਗੁਣ ਕਟਣਹਾਰ ॥ |
| gun govindh nith gaaveeahi avagun kattanehaar || |
| Continually sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe, the Destroyer of demerits. |
|
| ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਨ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ਕਰਿ ਡਿਠੇ ਬਿਸਥਾਰ ॥ |
| bin har naam n sukh hoe kar ddithae bisathhaar || |
| Without the Name of the Lord, there is no peace. Having tried all sorts of ostentatious displays, I have come to see this. |
|
| ਸਹਜੇ ਸਿਫਤੀ ਰਤਿਆ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਉਤਰੇ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੨॥ |
| sehajae sifathee rathiaa bhavajal outharae paar ||2|| |
| Intuitively imbued with His Praises, one is saved, crossing over the terrifying world-ocean. ||2|| |
|
| ਤੀਰਥ ਵਰਤ ਲਖ ਸੰਜਮਾ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰਿ ॥ |
| theerathh varath lakh sanjamaa paaeeai saadhhoo dhhoor || |
| The merits of pilgrimages, fasts and hundreds of thousands of techniques of austere self-discipline are found in the dust of the feet of the Holy. |
|
| ਲੂਕਿ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਕਿਸ ਤੇ ਜਾ ਵੇਖੈ ਸਦਾ ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥ |
| look kamaavai kis thae jaa vaekhai sadhaa hadhoor || |
| From whom are you trying to hide your actions? God sees all; |
|
| ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੩॥ |
| thhaan thhananthar rav rehiaa prabh maeraa bharapoor ||3|| |
| He is Ever-present. My God is totally pervading all places and interspaces. ||3|| |
|
| ਸਚੁ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੀ ਅਮਰੁ ਸਚੁ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਾ ਥਾਨੁ ॥ |
| sach paathisaahee amar sach sachae sachaa thhaan || |
| True is His Empire, and True is His Command. True is His Seat of True Authority. |

| ਸਚੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਧਾਰੀਅਨੁ ਸਚਿ ਸਿਰਜਿਓਨੁ ਜਹਾਨੁ ॥ |
| sachee kudharath dhhaareean sach sirajioun jehaan || |
| True is the Creative Power which He has created. True is the world which He has fashioned. |
