| ਸਰਬ ਸਿਧਿ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਤਿਤੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਨਹੀ ਊਨਾ ਸਭੁ ਕਛੂ ॥ |
| sarab sidhh nav nidhh thith grihi nehee oonaa sabh kashhoo || |
| She attains total perfection and the nine treasures; her home lacks nothing. - everything is there. |

| ਮਧੁਰ ਬਾਨੀ ਪਿਰਹਿ ਮਾਨੀ ਥਿਰੁ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਬਣਾ ॥ |
| madhhur baanee pirehi maanee thhir sohaag thaa kaa banaa || |
| Her speech is so sweet; she obeys her Beloved Lord; her marriage is permanent and everlasting. |

| ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਰਾਮੁ ਭਤਾਰੁ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਅਨਦੁ ਘਣਾ ॥੨॥ |
| naanak vakhaanai gur bachan jaanai jaa ko raam bhathaar thaa kai anadh ghanaa ||2|| |
| Nanak chants what he knows through the Guru's Teachings: One who has the Lord as her Husband enjoys great bliss. ||2|| |

| ਆਉ ਸਖੀ ਸੰਤ ਪਾਸਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਗੀਐ ॥ |
| aao sakhee santh paas saevaa laageeai || |
| Come, O my companions, let us dedicate ourselves to serving the Saints. |

| ਪੀਸਉ ਚਰਣ ਪਖਾਰਿ ਆਪੁ ਤਿਆਗੀਐ ॥ |
| peeso charan pakhaar aap thiaageeai || |
| Let us grind their corn, wash their feet and so renounce our self-conceit. |
|
| ਤਜਿ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਟੈ ਸੰਤਾਪੁ ਆਪੁ ਨਹ ਜਾਣਾਈਐ ॥ |
| thaj aap mittai santhaap aap neh jaanaaeeai || |
| Let us shed our egos, and our troubles shall be removed; let us not display ourselves. |

| ਸਰਣਿ ਗਹੀਜੈ ਮਾਨਿ ਲੀਜੈ ਕਰੇ ਸੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ |
| saran geheejai maan leejai karae so sukh paaeeai || |
| Let us take to His Sanctuary and obey Him, and be happy with whatever He does. |
|
| ਕਰਿ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸੀ ਤਜਿ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਜਾਗੀਐ ॥ |
| kar dhaas dhaasee thaj oudhaasee kar jorr dhin rain jaageeai || |
| Let us become the slaves of His slaves, and shed our sadness, and with our palms pressed together, remain wakeful day and night. |

| ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਆਉ ਸਖੀ ਸੰਤ ਪਾਸਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਗੀਐ ॥੩॥ |

| jaa kai masathak bhaag s saevaa laaeiaa || |
| One who has such good destiny written upon his forehead, dedicates himself to His service. |

| ਤਾ ਕੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| thaa kee pooran aas jinh saadhhasang paaeiaa || |
| One who attains the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, has his desires fulfilled. |

| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿਮਰਣ ਲਾਗਿਆ ॥ |
| saadhhasang har kai rang gobindh simaran laagiaa || |
| In the Saadh Sangat, immerse yourself in the Love of the Lord; remember the Lord of the Universe in meditation. |

| ਭਰਮੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਵਿਕਾਰੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਗਲ ਤਿਨਹਿ ਤਿਆਗਿਆ ॥ |
| bharam mohu vikaar dhoojaa sagal thinehi thiaagiaa || |
| Doubt, emotional attachment, sin and duality - he renounces them all. |

| ਮਨਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜੁ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਵੂਠਾ ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ॥ |
| man saanth sehaj subhaao voothaa anadh mangal gun gaaeiaa || |
| Peace, poise and tranquility fill his mind, and he sings the Lord's Glorious Praises with joy and delight. |

| har har naam japanthiaa kashh n kehai jamakaal || |
| If you chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, the Messenger of Death will have nothing to say to you. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੋਇ ਅੰਤੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਗੋਪਾਲੁ ॥੧॥ |
| naanak man than sukhee hoe anthae milai gopaal ||1|| |
| O Nanak, the mind and body will be at peace, and in the end, you shall merge with the Lord of the world. ||1|| |

| bino karo kar jorr har har naam dhaehu || |
| With my palms pressed together, I offer my prayer: give me Your Name, O Lord, Har, Har. |

| ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਾਗਉ ਚਰਣ ਲਾਗਉ ਮਾਨੁ ਤਿਆਗਉ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਦਇਆ ॥ |
| har naam maago charan laago maan thiaago thumh dhaeiaa || |
| I beg for the Lord's Name, and fall at His feet; I renounce my self-conceit, by Your kindness. |

| ਕਤਹੂੰ ਨ ਧਾਵਉ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਾਵਉ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਿ ਮਇਆ ॥ |
| kathehoon n dhhaavo saran paavo karunaa mai prabh kar maeiaa || |
| I shall not wander anywhere else, but take to Your Sanctuary. O God, embodiment of mercy, have mercy on me. |

| ਸਮਰਥ ਅਗਥ ਅਪਾਰ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਬਿਨਉ ਏਹੁ ॥ |
| samarathh agathh apaar niramal sunahu suaamee bino eaehu || |
| O all-powerful, indescribable, infinite and immaculate Lord Master, listen to this, my prayer. |

| ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਮਤਿਹੀਨੁ ਨਿਰਗੁਨੁ ਅਨਾਥੁ ਨੀਚੁ ॥ |
| aparaadhhee mathiheen niragun anaathh neech || |
| I am a sinner, devoid of wisdom, worthless, destitute and vile. |

| ਸਠ ਕਠੋਰੁ ਕੁਲਹੀਨੁ ਬਿਆਪਤ ਮੋਹ ਕੀਚੁ ॥ |
| sath kathor kuleheen biaapath moh keech || |
| I am deceitful, hard-hearted, lowly and entangled in the mud of emotional attachment. |

| ਮਲ ਭਰਮ ਕਰਮ ਅਹੰ ਮਮਤਾ ਮਰਣੁ ਚੀਤਿ ਨ ਆਵਏ ॥ |
| mal bharam karam ahan mamathaa maran cheeth n aaveae || |
| I am stuck in the filth of doubt and egotistical actions, and I try not to think of death. |
|
| ਬਨਿਤਾ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਾਇਆ ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ ਲਪਟਾਵਏ ॥ |
| banithaa binodh anandh maaeiaa agiaanathaa lapattaaveae || |
| In ignorance, I cling to the pleasures of woman and the joys of Maya. |
|
| ਖਿਸੈ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਬਧੈ ਜਰੂਆ ਦਿਨ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੀਚੁ ॥ |
| khisai joban badhhai jarooaa dhin nihaarae sang meech || |
| My youth is wasting away, old age is approaching, and Death, my companion, is counting my days. |

| ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਸ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਰਾਖੁ ਨੀਚੁ ॥੨॥ |
| binavanth naanak aas thaeree saran saadhhoo raakh neech ||2|| |
| Prays Nanak, my hope is in You, Lord; please preserve me, the lowly one, in the Sanctuary of the Holy. ||2|| |

| ਭਰਮੇ ਜਨਮ ਅਨੇਕ ਸੰਕਟ ਮਹਾ ਜੋਨ ॥ |
| bharamae janam anaek sankatt mehaa jon || |
| I have wandered through countless incarnations, suffering terrible pain in these lives. |
|
| ਲਪਟਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਤਿਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੀਠੇ ਭੋਗ ਸੋਨ ॥ |
| lapatt rehiou thih sang meethae bhog son || |
| I am entangled in sweet pleasures and gold. |
|
| ਭ੍ਰਮਤ ਭਾਰ ਅਗਨਤ ਆਇਓ ਬਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸਹ ਧਾਇਓ ॥ |
| bhramath bhaar aganath aaeiou bahu pradhaeseh dhhaaeiou || |
| After wandering around with such great loads of sin, I have come, after wandering through so many foreign lands. |
|
| ਅਬ ਓਟ ਧਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਇਓ ॥ |
| ab outt dhhaaree prabh muraaree sarab sukh har naaeiou || |
| Now, I have taken the protection of God, and I have found total peace in the Name of the Lord. |

| ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮੁਝ ਤੇ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਆ ਹੋਨ ॥ |
| raakhanehaarae prabh piaarae mujh thae kashhoo n hoaa hon || |
| God, my Beloved, is my protector; nothing was done, or will ever be done, by myself alone. |

| ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਨਕ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਤਰੈ ਭਉਨ ॥੩॥ |
| sookh sehaj aanandh naanak kirapaa thaeree tharai bhoun ||3|| |
| I have found peace, poise and bliss, O Nanak; by Your mercy, I swim across the world-ocean. ||3|| |

| ਨਾਮ ਧਾਰੀਕ ਉਧਾਰੇ ਭਗਤਹ ਸੰਸਾ ਕਉਨ ॥ |
| naam dhhaareek oudhhaarae bhagatheh sansaa koun || |
| You saved those who only pretended to believe, so what doubts should Your true devotees have? |

| ਜੇਨ ਕੇਨ ਪਰਕਾਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ॥ |
| jaen kaen parakaarae har har jas sunahu sravan || |
| By every means possible, listen to the Praises of the Lord with your ears. |
|
| ਸੁਨਿ ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ਬਾਨੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਮਨਿ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ਪਾਵਹੇ ॥ |
| sun sravan baanee purakh giaanee man nidhhaanaa paavehae || |
| Listen with your ears to the Word of the Lord's Bani, the hymns of spiritual wisdom; thus you shall obtain the treasure in your mind. |

| ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਧਾਤੇ ਰਾਮ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹੇ ॥ |
| har rang raathae prabh bidhhaathae raam kae gun gaavehae || |
| Attuned to the Love of the Lord God, the Architect of Destiny, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. |
|
| ਬਸੁਧ ਕਾਗਦ ਬਨਰਾਜ ਕਲਮਾ ਲਿਖਣ ਕਉ ਜੇ ਹੋਇ ਪਵਨ ॥ |
| basudhh kaagadh banaraaj kalamaa likhan ko jae hoe pavan || |
| The earth is the paper, the forest is the pen and the wind is the writer, |

| ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਪਾਇਆ ਗਹੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਚਰਣ ਸਰਨ ॥੪॥੫॥੮॥ |
| baeanth anth n jaae paaeiaa gehee naanak charan saran ||4||5||8|| |
| but still, the end of the endless Lord cannot be found. O Nanak, I have taken to the Sanctuary of His lotus feet. ||4||5||8|| |

| The Primal Lord is the Lord God of all beings. I have taken to His Sanctuary. |

| ਨਿਰਭਉ ਭਏ ਪਰਾਨ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਸਗਲ ਲਹੀ ॥ |
| nirabho bheae paraan chinthaa sagal lehee || |
| My life has become fearless, and all my anxieties have been removed. |
|
| ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਮੀਤ ਸੁਰਿਜਨ ਇਸਟ ਬੰਧਪ ਜਾਣਿਆ ॥ |
| maath pithaa suth meeth surijan eisatt bandhhap jaaniaa || |
| I know the Lord as my mother, father, son, friend, well-wisher and close relative. |
|
| ਗਹਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਇਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਜਸੁ ਬਿਮਲ ਸੰਤ ਵਖਾਣਿਆ ॥ |
| gehi kanth laaeiaa gur milaaeiaa jas bimal santh vakhaaniaa || |
| The Guru has led me to embrace Him; the Saints chant His Pure Praises. |
|
| ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਣ ਅਨੇਕ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਕਹੀ ॥ |
| baeanth gun anaek mehimaa keemath kashhoo n jaae kehee || |
| His Glorious Virtues are infinite, and His greatness is unlimited. His value cannot be described at all. |

| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਏਕ ਅਨਿਕ ਅਲਖ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਓਟ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਗਹੀ ॥੧॥ |
