| The treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is obtained; I have searched for it for so long. |

| ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਘਾਲਦਾ ॥ |
| joth milee sang joth rehiaa ghaaladhaa || |
| My light is merged into the Light, and my labors are over. |

| ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਵੁਠੇ ਤਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ॥ |
| sookh sehaj aanandh vuthae thith ghar || |
| I abide in that house of peace, poise and bliss. |

| ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣ ਰਹੇ ਜਨਮੁ ਨ ਤਹਾ ਮਰਿ ॥ |
| aavan jaan rehae janam n thehaa mar || |
| My comings and goings have ended - there is no birth or death there. |

| ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਇਕੁ ਇਕੁ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਇਆ ॥ |

| The Master and the servant have become one, with no sense of separation. |

| chaar paav dhue sing gung mukh thab kaisae gun geehai || |
| With four feet, two horns and a mute mouth, how could you sing the Praises of the Lord? |

| ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਠੇਗਾ ਪਰਿਹੈ ਤਬ ਕਤ ਮੂਡ ਲੁਕਈਹੈ ॥੧॥ |
| oothath baithath thaegaa parihai thab kath moodd lukeehai ||1|| |
| Standing up and sitting down, the stick shall still fall on you, so where will you hide your head? ||1|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਬੈਲ ਬਿਰਾਨੇ ਹੁਈਹੈ ॥ |
| har bin bail biraanae hueehai || |
| Without the Lord, you are like a stray ox; |

| ਫਾਟੇ ਨਾਕਨ ਟੂਟੇ ਕਾਧਨ ਕੋਦਉ ਕੋ ਭੁਸੁ ਖਈਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| faattae naakan ttoottae kaadhhan kodho ko bhus kheehai ||1|| rehaao || |
| with your nose torn, and your shoulders injured, you shall have only the straw of coarse grain to eat. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਸਾਰੋ ਦਿਨੁ ਡੋਲਤ ਬਨ ਮਹੀਆ ਅਜਹੁ ਨ ਪੇਟ ਅਘਈਹੈ ॥ |
| saaro dhin ddolath ban meheeaa ajahu n paett agheehai || |
| All day long, you shall wander in the forest, and even then, your belly will not be full. |

| ਜਨ ਭਗਤਨ ਕੋ ਕਹੋ ਨ ਮਾਨੋ ਕੀਓ ਅਪਨੋ ਪਈਹੈ ॥੨॥ |
| jan bhagathan ko keho n maano keeou apano peehai ||2|| |
| You did not follow the advice of the humble devotees, and so you shall obtain the fruits of your actions. ||2|| |

| ਦੁਖ ਸੁਖ ਕਰਤ ਮਹਾ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਬੂਡੋ ਅਨਿਕ ਜੋਨਿ ਭਰਮਈਹੈ ॥ |
| dhukh sukh karath mehaa bhram booddo anik jon bharameehai || |
| Enduring pleasure and pain, drowned in the great ocean of doubt, you shall wander in numerous reincarnations. |

| ਰਤਨ ਜਨਮੁ ਖੋਇਓ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਬਿਸਰਿਓ ਇਹੁ ਅਉਸਰੁ ਕਤ ਪਈਹੈ ॥੩॥ |

| You have lost the jewel of human birth by forgetting God; when will you have such an opportunity again? ||3|| |

| ਭ੍ਰਮਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਤੇਲਕ ਕੇ ਕਪਿ ਜਿਉ ਗਤਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਬਿਹਈਹੈ ॥ |

| You turn on the wheel of reincarnation, like an ox at the oil-press; the night of your life passes away without salvation. |

| Kabeer's mother sobs, cries and bewails |

| ਏ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਕੈਸੇ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਰਘੁਰਾਈ ॥੧॥ |
| eae baarik kaisae jeevehi raghuraaee ||1|| |
| - O Lord, how will my grandchildren live? ||1|| |

| ਤਨਨਾ ਬੁਨਨਾ ਸਭੁ ਤਜਿਓ ਹੈ ਕਬੀਰ ॥ |
| thananaa bunanaa sabh thajiou hai kabeer || |
| Kabeer has given up all his spinning and weaving, |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਿਖਿ ਲੀਓ ਸਰੀਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| har kaa naam likh leeou sareer ||1|| rehaao || |
| and written the Name of the Lord on his body. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਤਾਗਾ ਬਾਹਉ ਬੇਹੀ ॥ |
| jab lag thaagaa baaho baehee || |
| As long as I pass the thread through the bobbin, |
|
| ਤਬ ਲਗੁ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਰਾਮੁ ਸਨੇਹੀ ॥੨॥ |
| thab lag bisarai raam sanaehee ||2|| |
| I forget the Lord, my Beloved. ||2|| |

| ਓਛੀ ਮਤਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਜੁਲਾਹਾ ॥ |

| My intellect is lowly - I am a weaver by birth, |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਹਿਓ ਮੈ ਲਾਹਾ ॥੩॥ |

| but I have earned the profit of the Name of the Lord. ||3|| |

| ja bheekh mangaavehi th kiaa ghatt jaaee ||1|| |
| If You made me beg for charity, what would it take away from me? ||1|| |

| ਤੂੰ ਹਰਿ ਭਜੁ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਨੁ ॥ |
| thoon har bhaj man maerae padh nirabaan || |
| Meditate and vibrate upon the Lord, O my mind, and you shall obtain the state of Nirvaanaa. |

| ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਵਨ ਜਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| bahur n hoe thaeraa aavan jaan ||1|| rehaao || |
| You shall not have to come and go in reincarnation any longer. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਸਭ ਤੈ ਉਪਾਈ ਭਰਮ ਭੁਲਾਈ ॥ |
| sabh thai oupaaee bharam bhulaaee || |
| You created all, and You lead them astray in doubt. |

| ਜਿਸ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਵਹਿ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੨॥ |
| jis thoon dhaevehi thisehi bujhaaee ||2|| |
| They alone understand, unto whom You give understanding. ||2|| |

| ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤ ਸਹਸਾ ਜਾਈ ॥ |

| Meeting the True Guru, doubt is dispelled. |

| ਕਿਸੁ ਹਉ ਪੂਜਉ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਦਰਿ ਨ ਆਈ ॥੩॥ |
| kis ho poojo dhoojaa nadhar n aaee ||3|| |
| Who else should I worship? I can see no other. ||3|| |

| ਏਕੈ ਪਾਥਰ ਕੀਜੈ ਭਾਉ ॥ |
| eaekai paathhar keejai bhaao || |
| One stone is lovingly decorated, |
|
| ਦੂਜੈ ਪਾਥਰ ਧਰੀਐ ਪਾਉ ॥ |
| dhoojai paathhar dhhareeai paao || |
| while another stone is walked upon. |
|
| ਜੇ ਓਹੁ ਦੇਉ ਤ ਓਹੁ ਭੀ ਦੇਵਾ ॥ |
| jae ouhu dhaeo th ouhu bhee dhaevaa || |
| If one is a god, then the other must also be a god. |
|
| ਕਹਿ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ॥੪॥੧॥ |

| He does not have even a trace of impurity - He is beyond impurity. He is fragrantly scented - He has come to take His Seat in my mind. |

| No one saw Him come - who can know Him, O Siblings of Destiny? ||1|| |

| As the path of a bird's flight across the sky cannot be seen, |

| jio jal maajhai maashhalo maarag paekhano n jaaee ||2|| |
| and the path of a fish through the water cannot be seen;||2|| |
