| keethae ko maerai sanmaanai karanehaar thrin jaanai || |
| He looks upon the creation like a mountain of gold, and sees the Creator as a blade of grass. |

| ਤੂ ਦਾਤਾ ਮਾਗਨ ਕਉ ਸਗਲੀ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਨੈ ॥੨॥ |
| thoo dhaathaa maagan ko sagalee dhaan dhaehi prabh bhaanai ||2|| |
| You are the Great Giver, and we are all mere beggars; O God, You give gifts according to Your Will. ||2|| |

| ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਅਵਰੁ ਖਿਨੈ ਮਹਿ ਅਵਰਾ ਅਚਰਜ ਚਲਤ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ॥ |
| khin mehi avar khinai mehi avaraa acharaj chalath thumaarae || |
| In an instant, You are one thing, and in another instant, You are another. Wondrous are Your ways! |

| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਜਉ ਤੁਮਹਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਓ ਤਉ ਸੁਨੀ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ |
| saadhhasang jo thumehi milaaeiou tho sunee thumaaree baanee || |
| When You brought me to the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, then I heard the Bani of Your Word. |

| ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਪੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ॥੪॥੭॥੧੮॥ |
| anadh bhaeiaa paekhath hee naanak prathaap purakh nirabaanee ||4||7||18|| |
| Nanak is in ecstasy, beholding the Glory of the Primal Lord of Nirvaanaa. ||4||7||18|| |

| ham santhan kee raen piaarae ham santhan kee saranaa || |
| I am the dust of the feet of the Beloved Saints; I seek the Protection of their Sanctuary. |

| ਸੰਤ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਓਟ ਸਤਾਣੀ ਸੰਤ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਗਹਣਾ ॥੧॥ |
| santh hamaaree outt sathaanee santh hamaaraa gehanaa ||1|| |
| The Saints are my all-powerful Support; the Saints are my ornament and decoration. ||1|| |
|
| ਹਮ ਸੰਤਨ ਸਿਉ ਬਣਿ ਆਈ ॥ |

| I am hand and glove with the Saints. |
|

| I have realized my pre-ordained destiny. |

| My dealings are with the Saints, and my business is with the Saints. |

| ਸੰਤਨ ਸਿਉ ਹਮ ਲਾਹਾ ਖਾਟਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥੨॥ |
| santhan sio ham laahaa khaattiaa har bhagath bharae bhanddaaraa ||2|| |
| I have earned the profit with the Saints, and the treasure filled to over-flowing with devotion to the Lord. ||2|| |
|
| ਸੰਤਨ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਸਉਪੀ ਤਉ ਉਤਰਿਆ ਮਨ ਕਾ ਧੋਖਾ ॥ |
| santhan mo ko poonjee soupee tho outhariaa man kaa dhhokhaa || |
| The Saints entrusted to me the capital, and my mind's delusion was dispelled. |

| ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਅਬ ਕਹਾ ਕਰੈਗੋ ਜਉ ਫਾਟਿਓ ਸਗਲੋ ਲੇਖਾ ॥੩॥ |
| dhharam raae ab kehaa karaigo jo faattiou sagalo laekhaa ||3|| |
| What can the Righteous Judge of Dharma do now? All my accounts have been torn up. ||3|| |
|
| ਮਹਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਭਏ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਪਰਸਾਦੇ ॥ |
| mehaa anandh bheae sukh paaeiaa santhan kai parasaadhae || |
| I have found the greatest bliss, and I am at peace, by the Grace of the Saints. |
|
| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੇ ਬਿਸਮਾਦੇ ॥੪॥੮॥੧੯॥ |
| kahu naanak har sio man maaniaa rang rathae bisamaadhae ||4||8||19|| |
| Says Nanak, my mind is reconciled with the Lord; it is imbued with the wondrous Love of the Lord. ||4||8||19|| |

| jaethee samagree dhaekhahu rae nar thaethee hee shhadd jaanee || |
| All the things that you see, O man, you shall have to leave behind. |

| ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਰਿ ਬਿਉਹਾਰਾ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ |
| raam naam sang kar biouhaaraa paavehi padh nirabaanee ||1|| |
| Let your dealings be with the Lord's Name, and you shall attain the state of Nirvaanaa. ||1|| |
|
| ਪਿਆਰੇ ਤੂ ਮੇਰੋ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ॥ |
| piaarae thoo maero sukhadhaathaa || |
| O my Beloved, You are the Giver of peace. |
|
| ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਦੀਆ ਉਪਦੇਸਾ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਰਾਤਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| gur poorai dheeaa oupadhaesaa thum hee sang paraathaa || rehaao || |
| The Perfect Guru has given me these Teachings, and I am attuned to You. ||Pause|| |

| ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਅਭਿਮਾਨਾ ਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ |
| kaam krodhh lobh moh abhimaanaa thaa mehi sukh nehee paaeeai || |
| In sexual desire, anger, greed, emotional attachment and self-conceit, peace is not to be found. |
|
| ਹੋਹੁ ਰੇਨ ਤੂ ਸਗਲ ਕੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤਉ ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੨॥ |
| hohu raen thoo sagal kee maerae man tho anadh mangal sukh paaeeai ||2|| |
| So be the dust of the feet of all, O my mind, and then you shall find bliss, joy and peace. ||2|| |
|
| ਘਾਲ ਨ ਭਾਨੈ ਅੰਤਰ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਨੈ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਕਰਿ ਮਨ ਸੇਵਾ ॥ |
| ghaal n bhaanai anthar bidhh jaanai thaa kee kar man saevaa || |
| He knows the condition of your inner self, and He will not let your work go in vain - serve Him, O mind. |

| ਕਰਿ ਪੂਜਾ ਹੋਮਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਗੁਰਦੇਵਾ ॥੩॥ |
| kar poojaa hom eihu manooaa akaal moorath guradhaevaa ||3|| |
| Worship Him, and dedicate this mind unto Him, the Image of the Undying Lord, the Divine Guru. ||3|| |
|
| ਗੋਬਿਦ ਦਾਮੋਦਰ ਦਇਆਲ ਮਾਧਵੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰਾ ॥ |
| gobidh dhaamodhar dhaeiaal maadhhavae paarabreham nirankaaraa || |
| He is the Lord of the Universe, the Compassionate Lord, the Supreme Lord God, the Formless Lord. |

| ਨਾਮੁ ਵਰਤਣਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਵਾਲੇਵਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੯॥੨੦॥ |
| naam varathan naamo vaalaevaa naam naanak praan adhhaaraa ||4||9||20|| |
| The Naam is my merchandise, the Naam is my nourishment; the Naam, O Nanak, is the Support of my breath of life. ||4||9||20|| |

| mirathak ko paaeiou than saasaa bishhurath aan milaaeiaa || |
| He infuses the breath into the dead bodies, and he reunited the separated ones. |

| ਪਸੂ ਪਰੇਤ ਮੁਗਧ ਭਏ ਸ੍ਰੋਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਗਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ |
| pasoo paraeth mugadhh bheae srothae har naamaa mukh gaaeiaa ||1|| |
| Even beasts, demons and fools become attentive listeners, when He sings the Praises of the Lord's Name. ||1|| |
|
| ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਦੇਖੁ ਵਡਾਈ ॥ |

| Behold the glorious greatness of the Perfect Guru. |

| His worth cannot be described. ||Pause|| |

| ਦੂਖ ਸੋਗ ਕਾ ਢਾਹਿਓ ਡੇਰਾ ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਬਿਸਰਾਮਾ ॥ |
| dhookh sog kaa dtaahiou ddaeraa anadh mangal bisaraamaa || |
| He has demolished the abode of sorrow and disease, and brought bliss, joy and happiness. |
|
| ਮਨ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਫਲ ਮਿਲੇ ਅਚਿੰਤਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਏ ਕਾਮਾ ॥੨॥ |
| man baanshhath fal milae achinthaa pooran hoeae kaamaa ||2|| |
| He effortlessly awards the fruits of the mind's desire, and all works are brought to perfection. ||2|| |
|
| ਈਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਆਗੈ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਏ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੇ ॥ |
| eehaa sukh aagai mukh oojal mitt geae aavan jaanae || |
| He finds peace in this world, and his face is radiant in the world hereafter; his comings and goings are finished. |

| ਨਿਰਭਉ ਭਏ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣੇ ॥੩॥ |
| nirabho bheae hiradhai naam vasiaa apunae sathigur kai man bhaanae ||3|| |
| He becomes fearless, and his heart is filled with the Naam, the Name of the Lord; his mind is pleasing to the True Guru. ||3|| |

| ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਾਗਾ ॥ |
| oothath baithath har gun gaavai dhookh dharadh bhram bhaagaa || |
| Standing up and sitting down, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord; his pain, sorrow and doubt are dispelled. |
|
| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰ ਕਰੰਮਾ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੨੧॥ |
| kahu naanak thaa kae poor karanmaa jaa kaa gur charanee man laagaa ||4||10||21|| |
| Says Nanak, his karma is perfect; his mind is attached to the Guru's feet. ||4||10||21|| |

| Meditate in remembrance on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, O mortal. |

| ਬਿਨਸੈ ਕਾਚੀ ਦੇਹ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| binasai kaachee dhaeh agiaanee || rehaao || |
| Your frail body shall perish, you ignorant fool. ||Pause|| |

| ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਰੁ ਸੁਪਨ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਵਡਾਈ ॥ |
| mrig thrisanaa ar supan manorathh thaa kee kashh n vaddaaee || |
| Illusions and dream-objects possess nothing of greatness. |

| ਰਾਮ ਭਜਨ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਆਵਸਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥ |
| raam bhajan bin kaam n aavas sang n kaahoo jaaee ||2|| |
| Without meditating on the Lord, nothing succeeds, and nothing will go along with you. ||2|| |

| ਹਉ ਹਉ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਹਾਇ ਅਵਰਦਾ ਜੀਅ ਕੋ ਕਾਮੁ ਨ ਕੀਨਾ ॥ |
| ho ho karath bihaae avaradhaa jeea ko kaam n keenaa || |
| Acting in egotism and pride, his life passes away, and he does nothing for his soul. |

| ਧਾਵਤ ਧਾਵਤ ਨਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸਿਆ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਹੀ ਚੀਨਾ ॥੩॥ |
| dhhaavath dhhaavath neh thripathaasiaa raam naam nehee cheenaa ||3|| |
| Wandering and wandering all around, he is never satisfied; he does not remember the Name of the Lord. ||3|| |
