ਜਿਨੀ ਸਖੀ ਸਹੁ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਪੂਛਉਗੀ ਜਾਏ ॥ |
jinee sakhee sahu raaviaa thin pooshhougee jaaeae || |
I shall go and ask those sisters who have enjoyed their Husband Lord. |

ਪਾਇ ਲਗਉ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਉ ਲੇਉਗੀ ਪੰਥੁ ਬਤਾਏ ॥੫॥ |
paae lago baenathee karo laeougee panthh bathaaeae ||5|| |
I touch their feet, and ask them to show me the Path. ||5|| |

ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਭਉ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਲਾਵੈ ॥ |
hukam pashhaanai naanakaa bho chandhan laavai || |
She who understands the Hukam of His Command, O Nanak, applies the Fear of God as her sandalwood oil; |

ਗੁਣ ਕਾਮਣ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਕਰੈ ਤਉ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਕਉ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੬॥ |
gun kaaman kaaman karai tho piaarae ko paavai ||6|| |
she charms her Beloved with her virtue, and so obtains Him. ||6|| |
 |
ਜੋ ਦਿਲਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਕਹੀਐ ਰੇ ਸੋਈ ॥ |
jo dhil miliaa s mil rehiaa miliaa keheeai rae soee || |
She who meets her Beloved in her heart, remains united with Him; this is truly called union. |

ਜੇ ਬਹੁਤੇਰਾ ਲੋਚੀਐ ਬਾਤੀ ਮੇਲੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੭॥ |
jae bahuthaeraa locheeai baathee mael n hoee ||7|| |
As much as she may long for Him, she shall not meet Him through mere words. ||7|| |
 |
ਧਾਤੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਫੁਨਿ ਧਾਤੁ ਕਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਿਵੈ ਕਉ ਧਾਵੈ ॥ |
dhhaath milai fun dhhaath ko liv livai ko dhhaavai || |
As metal melts into metal again, so does love melt into love. |

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਤਉ ਅਨਭਉ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੮॥ |
gur parasaadhee jaaneeai tho anabho paavai ||8|| |
By Guru's Grace, this understanding is obtained, and then, one obtains the Fearless Lord. ||8|| |

ਪਾਨਾ ਵਾੜੀ ਹੋਇ ਘਰਿ ਖਰੁ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ॥ |
paanaa vaarree hoe ghar khar saar n jaanai || |
There may be an orchard of betel nut trees in the garden, but the donkey does not appreciate its value. |

ਰਸੀਆ ਹੋਵੈ ਮੁਸਕ ਕਾ ਤਬ ਫੂਲੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥੯॥ |
raseeaa hovai musak kaa thab fool pashhaanai ||9|| |
If someone savors a fragrance, then he can truly appreciate its flower. ||9|| |
 |
ਅਪਿਉ ਪੀਵੈ ਜੋ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥ |
apio peevai jo naanakaa bhram bhram samaavai || |
One who drinks in the ambrosia, O Nanak, abandons his doubts and wanderings. |

ਸਹਜੇ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੈ ਅਮਰਾ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੧੦॥੧॥ |
sehajae sehajae mil rehai amaraa padh paavai ||10||1|| |
Easily and intuitively, he remains blended with the Lord, and obtains the immortal status. ||10||1|| |

har keeaa kathhaa kehaaneeaa gur meeth sunaaeeaa || |
The Guru, my friend, has told me the stories and the sermon of the Lord. |

ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈਆ ॥੧॥ |
balihaaree gur aapanae gur ko bal jaaeeaa ||1|| |
I am a sacrifice to my Guru; to the Guru, I am a sacrifice. ||1|| |

ਆਇ ਮਿਲੁ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਆਇ ਮਿਲੁ ਤੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
aae mil gurasikh aae mil thoo maerae guroo kae piaarae || rehaao || |
Come, join with me, O Sikh of the Guru, come and join with me. You are my Guru's Beloved. ||Pause|| |

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵਦੇ ਸੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਪਾਏ ॥ |
har kae gun har bhaavadhae sae guroo thae paaeae || |
The Glorious Praises of the Lord are pleasing to the Lord; I have obtained them from the Guru. |

ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਘੁਮਿ ਘੁਮਿ ਜਾਏ ॥੨॥ |
jin gur kaa bhaanaa manniaa thin ghum ghum jaaeae ||2|| |
I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to those who surrender to, and obey the Guru's Will. ||2|| |

ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ॥ |
jin sathigur piaaraa dhaekhiaa thin ko ho vaaree || |
I am dedicated and devoted to those who gaze upon the Beloved True Guru. |

ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਤਿਨ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੩॥ |
jin gur kee keethee chaakaree thin sadh balihaaree ||3|| |
I am forever a sacrifice to those who perform service for the Guru. ||3|| |

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਦੁਖ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰਾ ॥ |
har har thaeraa naam hai dhukh maettanehaaraa || |
Your Name, O Lord, Har, Har, is the Destroyer of sorrow. |

ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ॥੪॥ |
gur saevaa thae paaeeai guramukh nisathaaraa ||4|| |
Serving the Guru, it is obtained, and as Gurmukh, one is emancipated. ||4|| |
 |
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਦੇ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਪਰਵਾਨਾ ॥ |
jo har naam dhhiaaeidhae thae jan paravaanaa || |
Those humble beings who meditate on the Lord's Name, are celebrated and acclaimed. |
 |
ਤਿਨ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨਾ ॥੫॥ |
thin vittahu naanak vaariaa sadhaa sadhaa kurabaanaa ||5|| |
Nanak is a sacrifice to them, forever and ever a devoted sacrifice. ||5|| |
 |
ਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ॥ |
saa har thaeree ousathath hai jo har prabh bhaavai || |
O Lord, that alone is Praise to You, which is pleasing to Your Will, O Lord God. |
 |
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੇਵਦੇ ਤਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੬॥ |
jo guramukh piaaraa saevadhae thin har fal paavai ||6|| |
Those Gurmukhs, who serve their Beloved Lord, obtain Him as their reward. ||6|| |
 |
ਜਿਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਤਿਨਾ ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਲੇ ॥ |
jinaa har saethee pireharree thinaa jeea prabh naalae || |
Those who cherish love for the Lord, their souls are always with God. |
 |
ਓਇ ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਜੀਵਦੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲੇ ॥੭॥ |
oue jap jap piaaraa jeevadhae har naam samaalae ||7|| |
Chanting and meditating on their Beloved, they live in, and gather in, the Lord's Name. ||7|| |
 |
ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਘੁਮਿ ਜਾਇਆ ॥ |
jin guramukh piaaraa saeviaa thin ko ghum jaaeiaa || |
I am a sacrifice to those Gurmukhs who serve their Beloved Lord. |
 |
ਓਇ ਆਪਿ ਛੁਟੇ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਸਿਉ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਛਡਾਇਆ ॥੮॥ |
oue aap shhuttae paravaar sio sabh jagath shhaddaaeiaa ||8|| |
They themselves are saved, along with their families, and through them, all the world is saved. ||8|| |

ਗੁਰਿ ਪਿਆਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਧੰਨੋ ॥ |
gur piaarai har saeviaa gur dhhann gur dhhanno || |
My Beloved Guru serves the Lord. Blessed is the Guru, Blessed is the Guru. |
 |
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਦੇ ਸੇ ਪੁੰਨ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥ |
jo gurasikh gur saevadhae sae punn paraanee || |
Those Sikhs of the Guru, who serve the Guru, are the most blessed beings. |

ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੀ ॥੧੦॥ |
jan naanak thin ko vaariaa sadhaa sadhaa kurabaanee ||10|| |
Servant Nanak is a sacrifice to them; He is forever and ever a sacrifice. ||10|| |

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਆ ਸੇ ਆਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਈਆ ॥ |
guramukh sakhee sehaeleeaa sae aap har bhaaeeaa || |
The Lord Himself is pleased with the Gurmukhs, the fellowship of the companions. |
 |
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਪੈਨਾਈਆ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਗਲਿ ਲਾਈਆ ॥੧੧॥ |
har dharageh painaaeeaa har aap gal laaeeaa ||11|| |
In the Lord's Court, they are given robes of honor, and the Lord Himself hugs them close in His embrace. ||11|| |
 |
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਦੇ ਤਿਨ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥ |
jo guramukh naam dhhiaaeidhae thin dharasan dheejai || |
Please bless me with the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of those Gurmukhs, who meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. |

ਹਮ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਪਖਾਲਦੇ ਧੂੜਿ ਘੋਲਿ ਘੋਲਿ ਪੀਜੈ ॥੧੨॥ |
ham thin kae charan pakhaaladhae dhhoorr ghol ghol peejai ||12|| |
I wash their feet, and drink in the dust of their feet, dissolved in the wash water. ||12|| |
 |
ਪਾਨ ਸੁਪਾਰੀ ਖਾਤੀਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਬੀੜੀਆ ਲਾਈਆ ॥ |
paan supaaree khaatheeaa mukh beerreeaa laaeeaa || |
Those who eat betel nuts and betel leaf and apply lipstick, |
 |
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਜਮਿ ਪਕੜਿ ਚਲਾਈਆ ॥੧੩॥ |
har har kadhae n chaethiou jam pakarr chalaaeeaa ||13|| |
but do not contemplate the Lord, Har, Har - the Messenger of Death will seize them and take them away. ||13|| |
 |
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਚੇਤਿਆ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥ਤਿਨ ਜਮੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਗੁਰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੧੪॥ |
jin har naamaa har chaethiaa hiradhai our dhhaarae || thin jam naerr n aavee gurasikh gur piaarae ||14|| |
The Messenger of Death does not even approach those who contemplate the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, and keep Him enshrined in their hearts. The Guru's Sikhs are the Guru's Beloveds. ||14|| |

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਣੈ ॥ |
har kaa naam nidhhaan hai koee guramukh jaanai || |
The Name of the Lord is a treasure, known only to the few Gurmukhs. |
 |
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਲੀਆ ਮਾਣੈ ॥੧੫॥ |
naanak jin sathigur bhaettiaa rang raleeaa maanai ||15|| |
O Nanak, those who meet with the True Guru, enjoy peace and pleasure. ||15|| |
 |
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਆਖੀਐ ਤੁਸਿ ਕਰੇ ਪਸਾਓ ॥ |
sathigur dhaathaa aakheeai thus karae pasaaou || |
The True Guru is called the Giver; in His Mercy, He grants His Grace. |

ਹਉ ਗੁਰ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਸਦ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਦਿਤੜਾ ਨਾਓ ॥੧੬॥ |
ho gur vittahu sadh vaariaa jin dhitharraa naaou ||16|| |
I am forever a sacrifice to the Guru, who has blessed me with the Lord's Name. ||16|| |
 |
ਸੋ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਇ ਸਨੇਹਾ ॥ |
so dhhann guroo saabaas hai har dhaee sanaehaa || |
Blessed, very blessed is the Guru, who brings the Lord's message. |

ਹਉ ਵੇਖਿ ਵੇਖਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਿਗਸਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੇਹਾ ॥੧੭॥ |
ho vaekh vaekh guroo vigasiaa gur sathigur dhaehaa ||17|| |
I gaze upon the Guru, the Guru, the True Guru embodied, and I blossom forth in bliss. ||17|| |

ਗੁਰ ਰਸਨਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਬੋਲਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ॥ |
gur rasanaa anmrith boladhee har naam suhaavee || |
The Guru's tongue recites Words of Ambrosial Nectar; He is adorned with the Lord's Name. |

ਜਿਨ ਸੁਣਿ ਸਿਖਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਤਿਨਾ ਭੁਖ ਸਭ ਜਾਵੀ ॥੧੮॥ |
jin sun sikhaa gur manniaa thinaa bhukh sabh jaavee ||18|| |
Those Sikhs who hear and obey the Guru - all their desires depart. ||18|| |

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਆਖੀਐ ਕਹੁ ਕਿਤੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥ |
har kaa maarag aakheeai kahu kith bidhh jaaeeai || |
Some speak of the Lord's Path; tell me, how can I walk on it? |

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਖਰਚੁ ਲੈ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੧੯॥ |
har har thaeraa naam hai har kharach lai jaaeeai ||19|| |
O Lord, Har, Har, Your Name is my supplies; I will take it with me and set out. ||19|| |
