| His Mansions are so comfortable, and His gates are so lofty. |

| ਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਵਾਸਹਿ ਭਗਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੧॥ |
| thaa mehi vaasehi bhagath piaarae ||1|| |
| Within them, His beloved devotees dwell. ||1|| |

| ਸਹਜ ਕਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਅਤਿ ਮੀਠੀ ॥ |
| sehaj kathhaa prabh kee ath meethee || |
| The Natural Speech of God is so very sweet. |

| ਵਿਰਲੈ ਕਾਹੂ ਨੇਤ੍ਰਹੁ ਡੀਠੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| How rare is that person, who sees it with his eyes. ||1||Pause|| |

| There, in the arena of the congregation, the divine music of the Naad, the sound current, is sung. |

| ਊਹਾ ਸੰਤ ਕਰਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਾ ॥੨॥ |
| oohaa santh karehi har rangaa ||2|| |
| There, the Saints celebrate with their Lord. ||2|| |

| ਤਹ ਮਰਣੁ ਨ ਜੀਵਣੁ ਸੋਗੁ ਨ ਹਰਖਾ ॥ |
| theh maran n jeevan sog n harakhaa || |
| Neither birth nor death is there, neither pain nor pleasure. |

| ਸਾਚ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵਰਖਾ ॥੩॥ |
| saach naam kee anmrith varakhaa ||3|| |
| The Ambrosial Nectar of the True Name rains down there. ||3|| |

| ਗੁਹਜ ਕਥਾ ਇਹ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ |

| From the Guru, I have come to know the mystery of this speech. |

| By the Blessed Vision of their Darshan, millions of sins are erased. |

| ਭੇਟਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਇਹੁ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ |
| bhaettath sang eihu bhavajal thaarae ||1|| |
| Meeting with them, this terrifying world-ocean is crossed over||1|| |
|
| ਓਇ ਸਾਜਨ ਓਇ ਮੀਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥ |
| oue saajan oue meeth piaarae || |
| They are my companions, and they are my dear friends, |

| ਜੋ ਹਮ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| Hearing the Word of His Shabad, I am totally at peace. |

| ਜਾ ਕੀ ਟਹਲ ਜਮਦੂਤ ਬਿਦਾਰੇ ॥੨॥ |
| jaa kee ttehal jamadhooth bidhaarae ||2|| |
| When I serve Him, the Messenger of Death is chased away. ||2|| |
|
| ਜਾ ਕੀ ਧੀਰਕ ਇਸੁ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਧਾਰੇ ॥ |
| jaa kee dhheerak eis manehi sadhhaarae || |
| His comfort and consolation soothes and supports my mind. |
|
| ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਣਿ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲਾਰੇ ॥੩॥ |
| jaa kai simaran mukh oujalaarae ||3|| |
| Remembering Him in meditation, my face is radiant and bright. ||3|| |

| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥ |

| God embellishes and supports His servants. |

| The angelic beings and demi-gods are not permitted to remain here. |

| ਊਠਿ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਸੇਵਾ ॥੧॥ |
| ooth sidhhaarae kar mun jan saevaa ||1|| |
| The silent sages and humble servants also must arise and depart. ||1|| |
|
| ਜੀਵਤ ਪੇਖੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ |
| jeevath paekhae jinhee har har dhhiaaeiaa || |
| Only those who meditate on the Lord, Har, Har, are seen to live on. |

| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, they obtain the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਬਾਦਿਸਾਹ ਸਾਹ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਮਰਨਾ ॥ |
| baadhisaah saah vaapaaree maranaa || |
| Kings, emperors and merchants must die. |
|
| ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਕਾਲਹਿ ਖਰਨਾ ॥੨॥ |
| jo dheesai so kaalehi kharanaa ||2|| |
| Whoever is seen shall be consumed by death. ||2|| |
|
| ਕੂੜੈ ਮੋਹਿ ਲਪਟਿ ਲਪਟਾਨਾ ॥ |
| koorrai mohi lapatt lapattaanaa || |
| Mortal beings are entangled, clinging to false worldly attachments. |
|
| ਛੋਡਿ ਚਲਿਆ ਤਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਨਾ ॥੩॥ |
| shhodd chaliaa thaa fir pashhuthaanaa ||3|| |
| And when they must leave them behind, then they regret and grieve. ||3|| |

| ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਕਰਹੁ ਦਾਤਿ ॥ |
| kirapaa nidhhaan naanak ko karahu dhaath || |
| O Lord, O treasure of mercy, please bless Nanak with this gift, |

| You dwell deep within the heart of each and every being. |

| ਸਗਲ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਸੂਤਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ |

| The entire universe is strung on Your Thread. ||1|| |

| Wandering, wandering, wandering through countless incarnations, I have grown so weary. |

| Now, I hold tight to the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||2|| |

| You are inaccessible, incomprehensible, invisible and infinite. |

| What is the use of the glory of Maya? |

| ਜਾ ਕਉ ਬਿਨਸਤ ਬਾਰ ਨ ਕਾਈ ॥੧॥ |
| jaa ko binasath baar n kaaee ||1|| |
| It disappears in no time at all. ||1|| |
|
| ਇਹੁ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਸੋਵਤ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੈ ॥ |
| eihu supanaa sovath nehee jaanai || |
| This is a dream, but the sleeper does not know it. |
|
| ਅਚੇਤ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਮਹਿ ਲਪਟਾਨੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| achaeth bivasathhaa mehi lapattaanai ||1|| rehaao || |
| In his unconscious state, he clings to it. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਮਹਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਮੋਹਿਓ ਗਾਵਾਰਾ ॥ |
| mehaa mohi mohiou gaavaaraa || |
| The poor fool is enticed by the great attachments of the world. |

| ਪੇਖਤ ਪੇਖਤ ਊਠਿ ਸਿਧਾਰਾ ॥੨॥ |
| paekhath paekhath ooth sidhhaaraa ||2|| |
| Gazing upon them, watching them, he must still arise and depart. ||2|| |

| ਊਚ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਦਰਬਾਰਾ ॥ |
| ooch thae ooch thaa kaa dharabaaraa || |
| The Royal Court of His Darbaar is the highest of the high. |
