| sundhar suaamee dhhaam bhagatheh bisraam aasaa lag jeevathae jeeo || |
| My Lord and Master's Home is beautiful. It is the resting place of His devotees, who live in hopes of attaining it. |

| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਪੀਵਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਥਿਰੁ ਥੀਵਤੇ ਬਿਖੈ ਬਨੁ ਫੀਕਾ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥ |
| anmrith har peevathae sadhaa thhir thheevathae bikhai ban feekaa jaaniaa || |
| They drink in the Lord's Ambrosial Nectar, and become eternally stable. They know that the water of corruption is insipid and tasteless. |

| ਭਏ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥ |
| bheae kirapaal gopaal prabh maerae saadhhasangath nidhh maaniaa || |
| When my God, the Lord of the Universe became merciful, I came to look upon the Saadh Sangat as the treasure. |

| ਸਰਬਸੋ ਸੂਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਘਨ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਤਨੁ ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੀਵਤੇ ॥ |
| sarabaso sookh aanandh ghan piaarae har rathan man anthar seevathae || |
| All pleasures and supreme ecstasy, O my Beloved, come to those who sew the Jewel of the Lord into their minds. |

| ਇਕੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਆਧਾਰਾ ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀਵਤੇ ॥੩॥ |
| eik thil nehee visarai praan aadhhaaraa jap jap naanak jeevathae ||3|| |
| They do not forget, even for an instant, the Support of the breath of life. They live by constantly meditating on Him, O Nanak. ||3|| |

| O Lord, You meet and merge with those whom you have made Your Own. |

| praem thagouree paae reejhaae gobindh man mohiaa jeeo || |
| Administering the intoxicating drug of love, I have won over the Lord of the Universe; I have fascinated His Mind. |

| ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਕੰਠੇ ਲਗਿ ਸੋਹਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥ |
| santhan kai parasaadh agaadhh kanthae lag sohiaa jeeo || |
| By the Grace of the Saints, I am held in the loving embrace of the Unfathomable Lord, and I am entranced. |

| ਹਰਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਗਿ ਸੋਹਿਆ ਦੋਖ ਸਭਿ ਜੋਹਿਆ ਭਗਤਿ ਲਖ੍ਯ੍ਯਣ ਕਰਿ ਵਸਿ ਭਏ ॥ |
| har kanth lag sohiaa dhokh sabh johiaa bhagath lakhyan kar vas bheae || |
| Held in the Lord's loving embrace, I look beautiful, and all my pains have been dispelled. By the loving worship of His devotees, the Lord has come under their power. |
|
| ਮਨਿ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਵੁਠੇ ਗੋਵਿਦ ਤੁਠੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣਾ ਸਭਿ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਏ ॥ |
| man sarab sukh vuthae govidh thuthae janam maranaa sabh mitt geae || |
| All pleasures have come to dwell in the mind; the Lord of the Universe is pleased and appeased. Birth and death have been totally eliminated. |
|
| ਸਖੀ ਮੰਗਲੋ ਗਾਇਆ ਇਛ ਪੁਜਾਇਆ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਹੋਹਿਆ ॥ |
| sakhee mangalo gaaeiaa eishh pujaaeiaa bahurr n maaeiaa hohiaa || |
| O my companions, sing the Songs of Joy. My desires have been fulfilled, and I shall never again be trapped or shaken by Maya. |

| ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਪੋਹਿਆ ॥੪॥ |
| kar gehi leenae naanak prabh piaarae sansaar saagar nehee pohiaa ||4|| |
| Taking hold of my hand, O Nanak, my Beloved God will not let me be swallowed up by the world-ocean. ||4|| |

| jinaa bhaag mathhaahi sae naanak har rang maanadho ||1|| |
| Those who have good destiny recorded upon their foreheads, O Nanak, enjoy the Love of the Lord. ||1|| |

| kehathae pavithr sunathae sabh dhhann likhathanaee kul thaariaa jeeo || |
| Those who chant are sanctified. All those who listen are blessed, and those who write save their ancestors. |

| ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਤਿਨੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥ |
| jin ko saadhhoo sang naam har rang thinee breham beechaariaa jeeo || |
| Those who join the Saadh Sangat are imbued with the Lord's Love; they reflect and meditate on God. |

| ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਆ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਰੀ ॥ |
| breham beechaariaa janam savaariaa pooran kirapaa prabh karee || |
| Contemplating God, their lives are reformed and redeemed; God has showered His Perfect Mercy upon them. |

| ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੋ ਦੀਨੇ ਜੋਨਿ ਨਾ ਧਾਵੈ ਨਹ ਮਰੀ ॥ |
| kar gehi leenae har jaso dheenae jon naa dhhaavai neh maree || |
| Taking them by the hand, the Lord has blessed them with His Praises. They no longer have to wander in reincarnation, and they never have to die. |

| ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦਇਆਲ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਭੇਟਤ ਹਰੇ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮਾਰਿਆ ॥ |
| sathigur dhaeiaal kirapaal bhaettath harae kaam krodhh lobh maariaa || |
| Through the Kind and Compassionate True Guru, I have met the Lord; I have conquered sexual desire, anger and greed. |

| ਕਥਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਅਕਥੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਦਕੈ ਜਾਇ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਾਰਿਆ ॥੫॥੧॥੩॥ |
| kathhan n jaae akathh suaamee sadhakai jaae naanak vaariaa ||5||1||3|| |
| Our Indescribable Lord and Master cannot be described. Nanak is devoted, forever a sacrifice to Him. ||5||1||3|| |

| har har outham naam hai jin siriaa sabh koe jeeo || |
| The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is Excellent and Sublime. He created everyone. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਜੀਅ ਸਭੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਦਾ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਮਈਆ ਸੋਇ ॥ |
| har jeea sabhae prathipaaladhaa ghatt ghatt rameeaa soe || |
| The Lord cherishes all beings. He permeates each and every heart. |
|
| ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
| so har sadhaa dhhiaaeeai this bin avar n koe || |
| Meditate forever on that Lord. Without Him, there is no other at all. |
|
| ਜੋ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਦੇ ਸੇ ਛੋਡਿ ਚਲੇ ਦੁਖੁ ਰੋਇ ॥ |
| jo mohi maaeiaa chith laaeidhae sae shhodd chalae dhukh roe || |
| Those who focus their consciousness on emotional attachment to Maya must leave; they depart crying out in despair. |
|
| ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਸਖਾਈ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ |
| jan naanak naam dhhiaaeiaa har anth sakhaaee hoe ||1|| |
| Servant Nanak meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, his only Companion in the end. ||1|| |
|
| ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ |
| mai har bin avar n koe || |
| I have none other than You, O Lord. |
|
| ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਵਿਣੁ ਭਾਈਆ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਉ ॥ |

| Without the humble Saints, O Siblings of Destiny, no one has obtained the Lord's Name. |

| ਵਿਚਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਦੇ ਜਿਉ ਵੇਸੁਆ ਪੁਤੁ ਨਿਨਾਉ ॥ |
| vich houmai karam kamaavadhae jio vaesuaa puth ninaao || |
| Those who do their deeds in ego are like the prostitute's son, who has no name. |
|
| ਪਿਤਾ ਜਾਤਿ ਤਾ ਹੋਈਐ ਗੁਰੁ ਤੁਠਾ ਕਰੇ ਪਸਾਉ ॥ |
| pithaa jaath thaa hoeeai gur thuthaa karae pasaao || |
| The father's status is obtained only if the Guru is pleased and bestows His Favor. |
|
| ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਲਗਾ ਭਾਉ ॥ |
| vaddabhaagee gur paaeiaa har ahinis lagaa bhaao || |
| By great good fortune, the Guru is found; embrace love for the Lord, day and night. |
|
| ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਉ ॥੨॥ |
| jan naanak breham pashhaaniaa har keerath karam kamaao ||2|| |
| Servant Nanak has realized God; he sings the Lord's Praises through the actions he does. ||2|| |
|
| ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਗਾ ਚਾਉ ॥ |
| man har har lagaa chaao || |
| In my mind there is such a deep yearning for the Lord, Har, Har. |
|
| ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| gur poorai naam dhrirraaeiaa har miliaa har prabh naao ||1|| rehaao || |
| The Perfect Guru has implanted the Naam within me; I have found the Lord through the Lord God's Name. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਜੋਬਨਿ ਸਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਤਬ ਲਗੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥ |
| jab lag joban saas hai thab lag naam dhhiaae || |
| As long as there is youth and health, meditate on the Naam. |
|
| ਚਲਦਿਆ ਨਾਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਚਲਸੀ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤੇ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਇ ॥ |
| chaladhiaa naal har chalasee har anthae leae shhaddaae || |
| Along the way, the Lord shall go along with you, and in the end, He shall save you. |
|
| ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਵੁਠਾ ਆਇ ॥ |
| ho balihaaree thin ko jin har man vuthaa aae || |
| I am a sacrifice to those, within whose minds the Lord has come to dwell. |
|
| ਜਿਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਸੇ ਅੰਤਿ ਗਏ ਪਛੁਤਾਇ ॥ |
| jinee har har naam n chaethiou sae anth geae pashhuthaae || |
| Those who have not remembered the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, shall leave with regret in the end. |

| ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੩॥ |
| dhhur masathak har prabh likhiaa jan naanak naam dhhiaae ||3|| |
| Those who have such pre-ordained destiny written upon their foreheads, O servant Nanak, meditate on the Naam. ||3|| |

| ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗਾਇ ॥ |
| man har har preeth lagaae || |
| O my mind, embrace love for the Lord, Har, Har. |
|
| ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਪਾਰਿ ਲਘਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| vaddabhaagee gur paaeiaa gur sabadhee paar laghaae ||1|| rehaao || |
| By great good fortune, the Guru is found; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, we are carried across to the other side. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੁ ਉਪਾਇਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਵੈ ਲੇਇ ॥ |
| har aapae aap oupaaeidhaa har aapae dhaevai laee || |
| The Lord Himself creates, He Himself gives and takes away. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਮਤਿ ਦੇਇ ॥ |
| har aapae bharam bhulaaeidhaa har aapae hee math dhaee || |
| The Lord Himself leads us astray in doubt; the Lord Himself imparts understanding. |
