| Obtaining the Fruitful Vision of the Guru's Darshan, I discard my pride and attachment. ||3|| |

| ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਦਇਆ ਧਰਮੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਬਨਾਵਉ ॥ |
| sath santhokh dhaeiaa dhharam seegaar banaavo || |
| I am embellished with truth, contentment, compassion and Dharmic faith. |

| attal bachan saadhhoo janaa sabh mehi pragattaaeiaa || |
| The words of the Holy are eternal and unchanging; this is apparent to everyone. |

| ਜਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਹੋਆ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ |
| jis jan hoaa saadhhasang this bhaettai har raaeiaa ||1|| |
| That humble being, who joins the Saadh Sangat, meets the Sovereign Lord. ||1|| |
|
| ਇਹ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਕੀ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| eih paratheeth govindh kee jap har sukh paaeiaa || |
| This faith in the Lord of the Universe, and peace, are found by meditating on the Lord. |

| ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਤਾ ਸਭਿ ਕਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਘਰਿ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| anik baathaa sabh kar rehae gur ghar lai aaeiaa ||1|| rehaao || |
| Everyone is speaking in various ways, but the Guru has brought the Lord into the home of my self. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੇ ਕੀ ਰਾਖਤਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਸਹਸਾਇਆ ॥ |
| saran parae kee raakhathaa naahee sehasaaeiaa || |
| He preserves the honor of those who seek His Sanctuary; there is no doubt about this at all. |

| ਕਰਮ ਭੂਮਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਬੋਇ ਅਉਸਰੁ ਦੁਲਭਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ |
| karam bhoom har naam boe aousar dhulabhaaeiaa ||2|| |
| In the field of actions and karma, plant the Lord's Name; this opportunity is so difficult to obtain! ||2|| |

| ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਭ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥ |
| antharajaamee aap prabh sabh karae karaaeiaa || |
| God Himself is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; He does, and causes everything to be done. |

| ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਘਣੇ ਕਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਬਿਰਦਾਇਆ ॥੩॥ |
| pathith puneeth ghanae karae thaakur biradhaaeiaa ||3|| |
| He purifies so many sinners; this is the natural way of our Lord and Master. ||3|| |

| ਮਤ ਭੂਲਹੁ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਜਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਭਰਮਾਇਆ ॥ |
| math bhoolahu maanukh jan maaeiaa bharamaaeiaa || |
| Don't be fooled, O mortal being, by the illusion of Maya. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਤਿ ਰਾਖਸੀ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਪਹਿਰਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੪੬॥ |

| He fashioned you from clay, and made your priceless body. |

| ਅਨਿਕ ਛਿਦ੍ਰ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਢਕੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੇਹ ॥੧॥ |
| anik shhidhr man mehi dtakae niramal dhrisattaeh ||1|| |
| He covers the many faults in your mind, and makes you look immaculate and pure. ||1|| |
|
| ਕਿਉ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਨੈ ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਏਹ ॥ |
| kio bisarai prabh manai thae jis kae gun eaeh || |
| So why do you forget God from your mind? He has done so many good things for you. |

| ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤਜਿ ਰਚੇ ਜਿ ਆਨ ਸਿਉ ਸੋ ਰਲੀਐ ਖੇਹ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |

| One who forsakes God, and blends himself with another, in the end is blended with dust. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਮਤ ਬਿਲਮ ਕਰੇਹ ॥ |
| simarahu simarahu saas saas math bilam karaeh || |
| Meditate, meditate in remembrance with each and every breath - do not delay! |

| ਛੋਡਿ ਪ੍ਰਪੰਚੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਉ ਰਚਹੁ ਤਜਿ ਕੂੜੇ ਨੇਹ ॥੨॥ |
| shhodd prapanch prabh sio rachahu thaj koorrae naeh ||2|| |
| Renounce worldly affairs, and merge yourself into God; forsake false loves. ||2|| |
|
| ਜਿਨਿ ਅਨਿਕ ਏਕ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗ ਕੀਏ ਹੈ ਹੋਸੀ ਏਹ ॥ |
| jin anik eaek bahu rang keeeae hai hosee eaeh || |
| He is many, and He is One; He takes part in the many plays. This is as He is, and shall be. |

| ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮਤਿ ਲੇਹ ॥੩॥ |

| So serve that Supreme Lord God, and accept the Guru's Teachings. ||3|| |

| ਊਚੇ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ਵਡਾ ਸਭ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਰਨੇਹ ॥ |
| oochae thae oochaa vaddaa sabh sang baranaeh || |
| God is said to be the highest of the high, the greatest of all, our companion. |

| ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸ ਕੋ ਦਾਸਰਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਿ ਲੇਹ ॥੪॥੧੭॥੪੭॥ |
| dhaas dhaas ko dhaasaraa naanak kar laeh ||4||17||47|| |
| Please, let Nanak be the slave of the slave of Your slaves. ||4||17||47|| |

| sabh oopar samarathh prabh pooran gunathaas ||1|| |
| God is All-powerful, above all; He is the perfect treasure of virtue. ||1|| |

| ਜਨ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣੀ ਪਾਹਿ ॥ |
| jan kaa naam adhhaar hai prabh saranee paahi || |
| The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the Support of the humble servant who seeks God's Sanctuary. |

| ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਕਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਸੰਤਨ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| paramaesar kaa aasaraa santhan man maahi ||1|| rehaao || |
| In their minds, the Saints take the Support of the Transcendent Lord. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧੇ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੈ ॥੨॥ |
| dheen dhaeiaal kirapaa nidhhae saas saas samhaarai ||2|| |
| Merciful to the meek, the treasure of mercy, He remembers and protects us with each and every breath. ||2|| |
|
| ਕਰਣਹਾਰੁ ਜੋ ਕਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਾਈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ |
| karanehaar jo kar rehiaa saaee vaddiaaee || |
| Whatever the Creator Lord does is glorious and great. |
|
| ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਉਪਦੇਸਿਆ ਸੁਖੁ ਖਸਮ ਰਜਾਈ ॥੩॥ |
| gur poorai oupadhaesiaa sukh khasam rajaaee ||3|| |
| The Perfect Guru has instructed me, that peace comes by the Will of our Lord and Master. ||3|| |

| ਚਿੰਤ ਅੰਦੇਸਾ ਗਣਤ ਤਜਿ ਜਨਿ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥ |
| chinth andhaesaa ganath thaj jan hukam pashhaathaa || |
| Anxieties, worries and calculations are dismissed; the Lord's humble servant accepts the Hukam of His Command. |

| ਨਹ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਨਹ ਛੋਡਿ ਜਾਇ ਨਾਨਕ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੪॥੧੮॥੪੮॥ |
| neh binasai neh shhodd jaae naanak rang raathaa ||4||18||48|| |
| He does not die, and He does not leave; Nanak is attuned to His Love. ||4||18||48|| |

| mehaa thapath thae bhee saanth parasath paap naathae || |
| The great fire is put out and cooled; meeting with the Guru, sins run away. |

| ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਮਹਿ ਗਲਤ ਥੇ ਕਾਢੇ ਦੇ ਹਾਥੇ ॥੧॥ |
| andhh koop mehi galath thhae kaadtae dhae haathhae ||1|| |
| I fell into the deep dark pit; giving me His Hand, He pulled me out. ||1|| |
|
| ਓਇ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਸਾਜਨਾ ਹਮ ਉਨ ਕੀ ਰੇਨ ॥ |
| oue hamaarae saajanaa ham oun kee raen || |
| He is my friend; I am the dust of His Feet. |
|
| ਜਿਨ ਭੇਟਤ ਹੋਵਤ ਸੁਖੀ ਜੀਅ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ |
| jin bhaettath hovath sukhee jeea dhaan dhaen ||1|| rehaao || |
| Meeting with Him, I am at peace; He blesses me with the gift of the soul. ||1||Pause|| |

| ਪਰਾ ਪੂਰਬਲਾ ਲੀਖਿਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅਬ ਆਇ ॥ |
| paraa poorabalaa leekhiaa miliaa ab aae || |
| I have now received my pre-ordained destiny. |

| ਬਸਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਾਇ ॥੨॥ |
| basath sang har saadhh kai pooran aasaae ||2|| |
| Dwelling with the Lord's Holy Saints, my hopes are fulfilled. ||2|| |
|
| ਭੈ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਤਿਹੁ ਲੋਕ ਕੇ ਪਾਏ ਸੁਖ ਥਾਨ ॥ |
| bhai binasae thihu lok kae paaeae sukh thhaan || |
| The fear of the three worlds is dispelled, and I have found my place of rest and peace. |

| ਦਇਆ ਕਰੀ ਸਮਰਥ ਗੁਰਿ ਬਸਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਨਾਮ ॥੩॥ |
| dhaeiaa karee samarathh gur basiaa man naam ||3|| |
| The all-powerful Guru has taken pity upon me, and the Naam has come to dwell in my mind. ||3|| |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਤੂ ਟੇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਧਾਰ ॥ |
| naanak kee thoo ttaek prabh thaeraa aadhhaar || |
| O God, You are the Anchor and Support of Nanak. |

| One who forgets God is filthy, poor and low. |

| karanaihaar n boojhee aap ganai bigaanaa ||1|| |
| The fool does not understand the Creator Lord; instead, he thinks that he himself is the doer. ||1|| |
