| ਮੁੰਧ ਨਵੇਲੜੀਆ ਗੋਇਲਿ ਆਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| mundhh navaelarreeaa goeil aaee raam || |
| The young, innocent soul-bride has come to the pasture lands of the world. |
|
| ਮਟੁਕੀ ਡਾਰਿ ਧਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| mattukee ddaar dhharee har liv laaee raam || |
| Laying aside her pitcher of worldly concern, she lovingly attunes herself to her Lord. |
|
| ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਹੀ ਗੋਇਲਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੀਆ ॥ |
| liv laae har sio rehee goeil sehaj sabadh seegaareeaa || |
| She remains lovingly absorbed in the pasture of the Lord, automatically embellished with the Word of the Shabad. |
|
| ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਗੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਕਰਿ ਬਿਨੰਤੀ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਸਾਚਿ ਪਿਆਰੀਆ ॥ |
| kar jorr gur pehi kar binanthee milahu saach piaareeaa || |
| With her palms pressed together, she prays to the Guru, to unite her with her True Beloved Lord. |
|
| ਧਨ ਭਾਇ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇਖਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਨਿਵਾਰਿਆ ॥ |
| dhhan bhaae bhagathee dhaekh preetham kaam krodhh nivaariaa || |
| Seeing His bride's loving devotion, the Beloved Lord eradicates unfulfilled sexual desire and unresolved anger. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਮੁੰਧ ਨਵੇਲ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਪਿਰੁ ਸਾਧਾਰਿਆ ॥੧॥ |
| naanak mundhh navael sundhar dhaekh pir saadhhaariaa ||1|| |
| O Nanak, the young, innocent bride is so beautiful; seeing her Husband Lord, she is comforted. ||1|| |

| ਸਚਿ ਨਵੇਲੜੀਏ ਜੋਬਨਿ ਬਾਲੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| sach navaelarreeeae joban baalee raam || |
| Truthfully, O young soul-bride, your youth keeps you innocent. |
|
| ਆਉ ਨ ਜਾਉ ਕਹੀ ਅਪਨੇ ਸਹ ਨਾਲੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| aao n jaao kehee apanae seh naalee raam || |
| Do not come and go anywhere; stay with your Husband Lord. |
|
| ਨਾਹ ਅਪਨੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਦਾਸੀ ਮੈ ਭਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਾਵਏ ॥ |
| naah apanae sang dhaasee mai bhagath har kee bhaaveae || |
| I will stay with my Husband Lord; I am His hand-maiden. Devotional worship to the Lord is pleasing to me. |
|
| ਅਗਾਧਿ ਬੋਧਿ ਅਕਥੁ ਕਥੀਐ ਸਹਜਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਏ ॥ |
| agaadhh bodhh akathh kathheeai sehaj prabh gun gaaveae || |
| I know the unknowable, and speak the unspoken; I sing the Glorious Praises of the Celestial Lord God. |
|
| ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਾਲ ਰਸੀਆ ਰਵੈ ਸਾਚਿ ਪਿਆਰੀਆ ॥ |
| raam naam rasaal raseeaa ravai saach piaareeaa || |
| She who chants and savors the taste of the Lord's Name is loved by the True Lord. |
|
| ਗੁਰਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਦੀਆ ਦਾਨੁ ਕੀਆ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਵੀਚਾਰੀਆ ॥੨॥ |
| gur sabadh dheeaa dhaan keeaa naanakaa veechaareeaa ||2|| |
| The Guru grants her the gift of the Shabad; O Nanak, she contemplates and reflects upon it. ||2|| |
|
| ਸ੍ਰੀਧਰ ਮੋਹਿਅੜੀ ਪਿਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੂਤੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| sreedhhar mohiarree pir sang soothee raam || |
| She who is fascinated by the Supreme Lord, sleeps with her Husband Lord. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਇ ਚਲੋ ਸਾਚਿ ਸੰਗੂਤੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| gur kai bhaae chalo saach sangoothee raam || |
| She walks in harmony with the Guru's Will, attuned to the Lord. |
|
| ਧਨ ਸਾਚਿ ਸੰਗੂਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੂਤੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਆ ॥ |
| dhhan saach sangoothee har sang soothee sang sakhee sehaeleeaa || |
| The soul-bride is attuned to the Truth, and sleeps with the Lord, along with her companions and sister soul-brides. |
|
| ਇਕ ਭਾਇ ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਹਮ ਮੇਲੀਆ ॥ |
| eik bhaae eik man naam vasiaa sathiguroo ham maeleeaa || |
| Loving the One Lord, with one-pointed mind, the Naam dwells within; I am united with the True Guru. |
|
| ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਘੜੀ ਨ ਚਸਾ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੋ ॥ |
| dhin rain gharree n chasaa visarai saas saas niranjano || |
| Day and night, with each and every breath, I do not forget the Immaculate Lord, for a moment, even for an instant. |
|
| ਸਬਦਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਜਗਾਇ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਭਉ ਭੰਜਨੋ ॥੩॥ |
| sabadh joth jagaae dheepak naanakaa bho bhanjano ||3|| |
| So light the lamp of the Shabad, O Nanak, and burn away your fear. ||3|| |
|
| ਜੋਤਿ ਸਬਾਇੜੀਏ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| joth sabaaeirreeeae thribhavan saarae raam || |
| O soul-bride, the Lord's Light pervades all the three worlds. |
|
| ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| ghatt ghatt rav rehiaa alakh apaarae raam || |
| He is pervading each and every heart, the Invisible and Infinite Lord. |
|
| ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਆਪੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਿਲਾਈਐ ॥ |
| alakh apaar apaar saachaa aap maar milaaeeai || |
| He is Invisible and Infinite, Infinite and True; subduing his self-conceit, one meets Him. |
|
| ਹਉਮੈ ਮਮਤਾ ਲੋਭੁ ਜਾਲਹੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਚੁਕਾਈਐ ॥ |
| houmai mamathaa lobh jaalahu sabadh mail chukaaeeai || |
| So burn away your egotistical pride, attachment and greed, with the Word of the Shabad; wash away your filth. |
|
| ਦਰਿ ਜਾਇ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਕਰੀ ਭਾਣੈ ਤਾਰਿ ਤਾਰਣਹਾਰਿਆ ॥ |
| dhar jaae dharasan karee bhaanai thaar thaaranehaariaa || |
| When you go to the Lord's Door, you shall receive the Blessed Vision of His Darshan; by His Will, the Savior will carry you across and save you. |
|
| ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਚਾਖਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤੀ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿਆ ॥੪॥੧॥ |
| har naam anmrith chaakh thripathee naanakaa our dhhaariaa ||4||1|| |
| Tasting the Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord's Name, the soul-bride is satisfied; O Nanak, she enshrines Him in her heart. ||4||1|| |

| ਮੈ ਮਨਿ ਚਾਉ ਘਣਾ ਸਾਚਿ ਵਿਗਾਸੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| mai man chaao ghanaa saach vigaasee raam || |
| My mind is filled with such a great joy; I have blossomed forth in Truth. |
|
| ਮੋਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| mohee praem pirae prabh abinaasee raam || |
| I am enticed by the love of my Husband Lord, the Eternal, Imperishable Lord God. |
|
| ਅਵਿਗਤੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਥੁ ਨਾਥਹ ਤਿਸੈ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਥੀਐ ॥ |
| avigatho har naathh naathheh thisai bhaavai so thheeai || |
| The Lord is everlasting, the Master of masters. Whatever He wills, happens. |
|
| ਮੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਨ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਪੂਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਸਿ ਰਹੇ ॥ |
| mai avar giaan n dhhiaan poojaa har naam anthar vas rehae || |
| I have no other spiritual wisdom, meditation or worship; the Name of the Lord alone dwells deep within me. |
|
| ਭੇਖੁ ਭਵਨੀ ਹਠੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਾ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਸਚੁ ਗਹਿ ਰਹੇ ॥੧॥ |
| bhaekh bhavanee hath n jaanaa naanakaa sach gehi rehae ||1|| |
| I know nothing about religious robes, pilgrimages or stubborn fanaticism; O Nanak, I hold tight to the Truth. ||1|| |
|
| ਭਿੰਨੜੀ ਰੈਣਿ ਭਲੀ ਦਿਨਸ ਸੁਹਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| bhinnarree rain bhalee dhinas suhaaeae raam || |
| The night is beautiful, drenched with dew, and the day is delightful, |
|
| ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਸੂਤੜੀਏ ਪਿਰਮੁ ਜਗਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| nij ghar sootharreeeae piram jagaaeae raam || |
| when her Husband Lord wakes the sleeping soul-bride, in the home of the self. |
|
| ਨਵ ਹਾਣਿ ਨਵ ਧਨ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਾਗੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਰ ਭਾਣੀਆ ॥ |
| nav haan nav dhhan sabadh jaagee aapanae pir bhaaneeaa || |
| The young bride has awakened to the Word of the Shabad; she is pleasing to her Husband Lord. |
|
| ਤਜਿ ਕੂੜੁ ਕਪਟੁ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਣੀਆ ॥ |
| thaj koorr kapatt subhaao dhoojaa chaakaree lokaaneeaa || |
| So renounce falsehood, fraud, love of duality and working for people. |
|
| ਮੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਹਾਰੁ ਕੰਠੇ ਸਾਚ ਸਬਦੁ ਨੀਸਾਣਿਆ ॥ |
| mai naam har kaa haar kanthae saach sabadh neesaaniaa || |
| The Name of the Lord is my necklace, and I am anointed with the True Shabad. |
|
| ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਣਿਆ ॥੨॥ |
| kar jorr naanak saach maagai nadhar kar thudhh bhaaniaa ||2|| |
| With his palms pressed together, Nanak begs for the gift of the True Name; please, bless me with Your Grace, through the pleasure of Your Will. ||2|| |
|
| ਜਾਗੁ ਸਲੋਨੜੀਏ ਬੋਲੈ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| jaag salonarreeeae bolai gurabaanee raam || |
| Awake, O bride of splendored eyes, and chant the Word of the Guru's Bani. |
|
| ਜਿਨਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਮੰਨਿਅੜੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| jin sun manniarree akathh kehaanee raam || |
| Listen, and place your faith in the Unspoken Speech of the Lord. |
|
| ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝਏ ॥ |
| akathh kehaanee padh nirabaanee ko viralaa guramukh boojheae || |
| The Unspoken Speech, the state of Nirvaanaa - how rare is the Gurmukh who understands this. |
|
| ਓਹੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਏ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਏ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਸੋਝੀ ਸੂਝਏ ॥ |
| ouhu sabadh samaaeae aap gavaaeae thribhavan sojhee soojheae || |
| Merging in the Word of the Shabad, self-conceit is eradicated, and the three worlds are revealed to her understanding. |
|
| ਰਹੈ ਅਤੀਤੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਸਾਚੁ ਮਨਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰਿਆ ॥ |
| rehai atheeth aparanpar raathaa saach man gun saariaa || |
| Remaining detached, with infinity infusing, the true mind cherishes the virtues of the Lord. |
|
| ਓਹੁ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਰਬ ਠਾਈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਆ ॥੩॥ |
| ouhu poor rehiaa sarab thaaee naanakaa our dhhaariaa ||3|| |
| He is fully pervading and permeating all places; Nanak has enshrined Him within his heart. ||3|| |
|
| ਮਹਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਇੜੀਏ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਨੇਹੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| mehal bulaaeirreeeae bhagath sanaehee raam || |
| The Lord is calling you to the Mansion of His Presence; O soul-bride, He is the Lover of His devotees. |
|
| ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਰਹਸੀ ਸੀਝਸਿ ਦੇਹੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ |
| guramath man rehasee seejhas dhaehee raam || |
| Following the Guru's Teachings, your mind shall be delighted, and your body shall be fulfilled. |
|
| ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਰੀਝੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੀਝੈ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਲੋਕ ਨਾਥੁ ਪਛਾਣਏ ॥ |
| man maar reejhai sabadh seejhai thrai lok naathh pashhaaneae || |
| Conquer and subdue your mind, and love the Word of the Shabad; reform yourself, and realize the Lord of the three worlds. |
|
| ਮਨੁ ਡੀਗਿ ਡੋਲਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਕਤ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਜਾਣਏ ॥ |
| man ddeeg ddol n jaae kath hee aapanaa pir jaaneae || |
| Her mind shall not waver or wander anywhere else, when she comes to know her Husband Lord. |
|
| ਮੈ ਆਧਾਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੂ ਖਸਮੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੈ ਤਾਣੁ ਤਕੀਆ ਤੇਰਓ ॥ |
| mai aadhhaar thaeraa thoo khasam maeraa mai thaan thakeeaa thaerou || |
| You are my only Support, You are my Lord and Master. You are my strength and anchor. |

| ਸਾਚਿ ਸੂਚਾ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਝਗਰੁ ਨਿਬੇਰਓ ॥੪॥੨॥ |
| saach soochaa sadhaa naanak gur sabadh jhagar nibaerou ||4||2|| |
| She is forever truthful and pure, O Nanak; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, conflicts are resolved. ||4||2|| |
