| jinee guramukh har naam dhhan n khattiou sae dhaevaaleeeae jug maahi || |
| Those who do not become Gurmukh and earn the wealth of the Lord's Name, are bankrupt in this age. |

| ਓਇ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਸਭ ਜਗਤ ਮਹਿ ਕੋਈ ਮੁਹਿ ਥੁਕ ਨ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਪਾਹਿ ॥ |
| oue mangadhae firehi sabh jagath mehi koee muhi thhuk n thin ko paahi || |
| They wander around begging all over the world, but no one even spits in their faces. |

| ਪਰਾਈ ਬਖੀਲੀ ਕਰਹਿ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਖੋਵਨਿ ਸਗਵਾ ਭੀ ਆਪੁ ਲਖਾਹਿ ॥ |
| paraaee bakheelee karehi aapanee paratheeth khovan sagavaa bhee aap lakhaahi || |
| They gossip about others, and lose their credit, and expose themselves as well. |
|
| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੇਵਕ ਭਾਇ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਿਥਹੁ ਕਰਮਹੀਣ ਲੈ ਨ ਸਕਹਿ ਹੋਰ ਥੈ ਦੇਸ ਦਿਸੰਤਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੮॥ |
| guramukh saevak bhaae har dhhan milai thithhahu karameheen lai n sakehi hor thhai dhaes dhisanthar har dhhan naahi ||8|| |
| Through loving service, the Gurmukhs receive the wealth of the Naam, but the unfortunate ones cannot receive it. This wealth is not found anywhere else, in this country or in any other. ||8|| |

| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੰਸਾ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| guramukh sansaa mool n hovee chinthaa vichahu jaae || |
| The Gurmukh does not have an iota of skepticism or doubt; worries depart from within him. |

| ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਸਹਜੇ ਹੋਇ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| jo kishh hoe s sehajae hoe kehanaa kishhoo n jaae || |
| Whatever he does, he does with grace and poise. Nothing else can be said about him. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਆਖਿਆ ਆਪਿ ਸੁਣੇ ਜਿ ਲਇਅਨੁ ਪੰਨੈ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ |

| O Nanak, the Lord Himself hears the speech of those whom He makes His own. ||1|| |

| kaal maar manasaa manehi samaanee anthar niramal naao || |
| He conquers death, and subdues the desires of his mind; the Immaculate Name abides deep within him. |

| ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗੈ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਸੋਵੈ ਸਹਜੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪਿਆਉ ॥ |
| anadhin jaagai kadhae n sovai sehajae anmrith piaao || |
| Night and day, he remains awake and aware; he never sleeps, and he intuitively drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar. |

| ਮੀਠਾ ਬੋਲੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥ |
| meethaa bolae anmrith baanee anadhin har gun gaao || |
| His speech is sweet, and his words are nectar; night and day, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. |

| ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੋਹਦੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਉ ॥੨॥ |
| nij ghar vaasaa sadhaa sohadhae naanak thin miliaa sukh paao ||2|| |
| He dwells in the home of his own self, and appears beautiful forever; meeting him, Nanak finds peace. ||2|| |

| har dhhan rathan javaeharee so gur har dhhan har paasahu dhaevaaeiaa || |
| The wealth of the Lord is a jewel, a gem; the Guru has caused the Lord to grant that wealth of the Lord. |

| ਜੇ ਕਿਸੈ ਕਿਹੁ ਦਿਸਿ ਆਵੈ ਤਾ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਹੁ ਮੰਗਿ ਲਏ ਅਕੈ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਹੁ ਦੇਵਾਏ ਏਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਜੋਰਿ ਕੀਤੈ ਕਿਸੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਵੰਡਾਇਆ ॥ |
| jae kisai kihu dhis aavai thaa koee kihu mang leae akai koee kihu dhaevaaeae eaehu har dhhan jor keethai kisai naal n jaae vanddaaeiaa || |
| If someone sees something, he may ask for it; or, someone may cause it to be given to him. But no one can take a share of this wealth of the Lord by force. |

| ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਧਾ ਲਾਏ ਤਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਨ ਕੀ ਵੰਡ ਹਥਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਰਤੈ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ |
| jis no sathigur naal har saradhhaa laaeae this har dhhan kee vandd hathh aavai jis no karathai dhhur likh paaeiaa || |
| He alone obtains a share of the wealth of the Lord, who is blessed by the Creator with faith and devotion to the True Guru, according to his pre-ordained destiny. |

| ਇਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਨ ਕਾ ਕੋਈ ਸਰੀਕੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਸੈ ਕਾ ਖਤੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਸੈ ਕੈ ਸੀਵ ਬੰਨੈ ਰੋਲੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਜੇ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਧਨ ਕੀ ਬਖੀਲੀ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਮੁਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਚਹੁ ਕੁੰਡਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਕਾਲਾ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥ |
| eis har dhhan kaa koee sareek naahee kisai kaa khath naahee kisai kai seev bannai rol naahee jae ko har dhhan kee bakheelee karae this kaa muhu har chahu kunddaa vich kaalaa karaaeiaa || |
| No one is a share-holder in this wealth of the Lord, and no one owns any of it. It has no boundaries or borders to be disputed. If anyone speaks ill of the wealth of the Lord, his face will be blackened in the four directions. |

| ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਦਿਤੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਕਿਸੈ ਜੋਰੁ ਬਖੀਲੀ ਨ ਚਲਈ ਦਿਹੁ ਦਿਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਚੜੈ ਸਵਾਇਆ ॥੯॥ |
| har kae dhithae naal kisai jor bakheelee n chalee dhihu dhihu nith nith charrai savaaeiaa ||9|| |
| No one's power or slander can prevail against the gifts of the Lord; day by day they continually, continuously increase. ||9|| |

| jagath jalandhaa rakh lai aapanee kirapaa dhhaar || |
| The world is going up in flames - shower it with Your Mercy, and save it! |

| ਜਿਤੁ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਉਬਰੈ ਤਿਤੈ ਲੈਹੁ ਉਬਾਰਿ ॥ |
| jith dhuaarai oubarai thithai laihu oubaar || |
| Save it, and deliver it, by whatever method it takes. |
|
| ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਵੇਖਾਲਿਆ ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ |
| sathigur sukh vaekhaaliaa sachaa sabadh beechaar || |
| The True Guru has shown the way to peace, contemplating the True Word of the Shabad. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਸੁਝਈ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਖਸਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ |
| naanak avar n sujhee har bin bakhasanehaar ||1|| |
| Nanak knows no other than the Lord, the Forgiving Lord. ||1|| |

| Through egotism, fascination with Maya has trapped them in duality. |
|
| ਨਾ ਇਹ ਮਾਰੀ ਨ ਮਰੈ ਨਾ ਇਹ ਹਟਿ ਵਿਕਾਇ ॥ |
| naa eih maaree n marai naa eih hatt vikaae || |
| It cannot be killed, it does not die, and it cannot be sold in a store. |
|
| ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਰਜਾਲੀਐ ਤਾ ਇਹ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥ |
| gur kai sabadh parajaaleeai thaa eih vichahu jaae || |
| Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, it is burnt away, and then it departs from within. |

| ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਉਜਲਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥ |
| than man hovai oujalaa naam vasai man aae || |
| The body and mind become pure, and the Naam, the Name of the Lord, comes to dwell within the mind. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਣੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥੨॥ |
| naanak maaeiaa kaa maaran sabadh hai guramukh paaeiaa jaae ||2|| |
| O Nanak, the Shabad is the killer of Maya; the Gurmukh obtains it. ||2|| |

| sathigur kee vaddiaaee sathigur dhithee dhhurahu hukam bujh neesaan || |
| The glorious greatness of the True Guru was bestowed by the True Guru; He understood this as the Insignia, the Mark of the Primal Lord's Will. |

| ਪੁਤੀ ਭਾਤੀਈ ਜਾਵਾਈ ਸਕੀ ਅਗਹੁ ਪਿਛਹੁ ਟੋਲਿ ਡਿਠਾ ਲਾਹਿਓਨੁ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥ |
| puthee bhaatheeee jaavaaee sakee agahu pishhahu ttol ddithaa laahioun sabhanaa kaa abhimaan || |
| He tested His sons, nephews, sons-in-law and relatives, and subdued the egotistical pride of them all. |

| ਜਿਥੈ ਕੋ ਵੇਖੈ ਤਿਥੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿ ਬਖਸਿਓਸੁ ਸਭੁ ਜਹਾਨੁ ॥ |
| jithhai ko vaekhai thithhai maeraa sathiguroo har bakhasious sabh jehaan || |
| Wherever anyone looks, my True Guru is there; the Lord blessed Him with the whole world. |

| ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੈ ਵਲਿ ਹੋਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਜਾਨੁ ॥ |
| jan naanak kai val hoaa maeraa suaamee har sajan purakh sujaan || |
| My Lord and Master is on the side of servant Nanak. The All-powerful and All-knowing Lord God is my Best Friend. |

| ਪਉਦੀ ਭਿਤਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਕੈ ਸਭਿ ਆਇ ਪਏ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਪੈਰੀ ਲਾਹਿਓਨੁ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਿਅਹੁ ਮਨਹੁ ਗੁਮਾਨੁ ॥੧੦॥ |
| poudhee bhith dhaekh kai sabh aae peae sathigur kee pairee laahioun sabhanaa kiahu manahu gumaan ||10|| |
| Seeing the food being distributed, everyone came and fell at the feet of the True Guru, who cleansed the minds of all of their egotistical pride. ||10|| |

| One plants the seed, another harvests the crop, and still another beats the grain from the chaff. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਏਵ ਨ ਜਾਪਈ ਕੋਈ ਖਾਇ ਨਿਦਾਨਿ ॥੧॥ |
| naanak eaev n jaapee koee khaae nidhaan ||1|| |
| O Nanak, it is not known, who will ultimately eat the grain. ||1|| |

| gur poorai miharavaan bharam bho maariaa || |
| The compassionate perfect Guru has eradicated my doubts and fears. |

| ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਬਿਕਰਾਲੁ ਦੂਤ ਸਭਿ ਹਾਰਿਆ ॥ |
| kaam krodhh bikaraal dhooth sabh haariaa || |
| Unsatisfied sexual desire and unresolved anger, the horrible demons, have been totally destroyed. |

| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਕੰਠਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਆ ॥ |
| anmrith naam nidhhaan kanth our dhhaariaa || |
| I have enshrined the treasure of the Ambrosial Naam within my throat and heart. |

| ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਮਰਣੁ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥੧੧॥ |
| naanak saadhhoo sang janam maran savaariaa ||11|| |
| O Nanak, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, my birth and death have been adorned and redeemed. ||11|| |
